    I watched this video on Monday. Practiced all week and used it in sparring on Friday. Was nailing people with left hook body, left hook head, then low kick to the back of lead leg. My instructor who is a Pro mma fighter was so impressed. Felt really good!!

      i came into a kickboxing gym from a boxing and taekwondo background and i was nailing the hell out of people using jabs , teeps and slips/angles into body shots, everyone was like oh you have a talent and shit while in reality i just used some concepts from boxing and taekwondo that these guys seem to ignore like angles and distance management.. these guys train 24h a day to hold a high guard with a tough body and throw mean shots at each others guards until someone breaks first, i love how every martial art is different yet it has some concept that is universal through all others

    It's true what Joe says: this kind of footwork is not always immediate and intuitive and needs to be practiced on a regular basis. If you do so, though, it's certainly gonna pay off and you will find out in your next sparring. Great coordination plus timing is often the key to a successful fight. Even more than that! Once you develop good footwork, you'll see that your whole attitude towards fighting changes dramatically, making you more confident and opening the door on new possibilities. Thanks, Joe, keep up the good work!

    Hey joe I just noticed you asked for comments on this video. I’ve been drilling the heck out of this and I really feel like this has added some real depth to my game. No one has ever taught me this stuff. I already had jab-stance switch down from throwing jab to left high kick so this fit right in with my style.
    Any more videos like this would be great. Deeper level technique for people who are addicted to kickboxing but might not have the greatest coaches.

    Joe do you have a video which shows the opposite side? Angling to the left? This video perfectly explained what ive naturally learnt through watching boxing and mixing in my basketball pivot knowledge from when i was a kid. All of these movements just came.naturally to me but it was very useful seeing you break it down step by step tecbnically man thank you...
    Tho I have no idea how to angle the other direction?

    Great vids! Very beneficial! Learning all
    The time from you!
    but one ☝🏾 thing that would make your videos better would be for you to talk once you have caught your breath. So cut the camera and re-film once you have caught your breath. This would undoubtedly make your vids even better!

    I still don't understand why orthodox & southpaw stances are a things. For me, when I need my right leg in the front, I place it in the front, same as when I need my left leg. This changes happen only when pivoting left or right angle to enter. I usually pivot using front leg as center then don't change it until I need to pivot again in opposite direction.

    Just a thought, but maybe add the audio from your 'flowing' from the camera. It is kinda weird to listen to ur breathing. But the camera would still give the hitting sounds etc., but it would cancel out the breathing a bit. The background jamming should even out the switch.

    I’m a young kickboxer and I was wondering what’s the best technique to be more aggressive and keep my head further forward as I tend to stay on my back foot to avoid punches

      Wilhelm7 comes with time brother keep at at, once you stop fearing the punches so much it gets easier. Keep your hands up and your chin down.

    • @finhyland4270
      @finhyland4270 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      16oz for sparring or bag work , 10 or 12 oz for mitt work

    • @HANDLERofKNIFE
      @HANDLERofKNIFE 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sparring the bigger the better cuz they are meant to protect your partner and your hands and like said in the previous comment littlebit smaller gloves are good for bags
