thanks for your reply! for now it's been almost a week of strict sub-zero temperatures, so most small lakes and ponds around has frozen pretty reliably i guess. but this one is a bit special since on its northern side there are few underground sources which makes it never freeze even during the coldest winters. its other sides however should be no different from other water basins... still i prefer to look at our local fishers before stepping there.
