I’m quite sure other manufacturers will copy the small steering wheel because when you get used to it there is no way back to those old and way too big wheels.
Bob, on the air conditioning running the fan. In the settings there are 3 modes to choose from; soft, normal and high. In winter I use normal, summer soft. Never have to change the temp from 21 in a year. All that takes is 5 seconds twice a year.
I love these liftback coupes and currently have a 4 series gran coupe. It’s the only way us dads can swindle a practical family car that’s not another slabsided van!
Think the sun roof on any of these cars is a must with the sloping roof line and dark interior it makes them all a wee bit on the dark side. So is the Opening sunroof @ €1350 really an option you can ignore??? Great looking car and at €40k odd that is a hell of a lot for that price point... M2CW
Sorry but like all the dinosaurs you'd like your A/C controls somewhere down below. I have the 3008, and unlike you, I live in hot country so the A/C works extra hours. After two weeks of owning the car I find it super comfortable and intuitive to have the controls in your line of sight and not down, when you look down to change the settings you are not looking at the road, also most of us turn the A/C on auto when starting the car, and don't fiddle with it much while driving. Just got fed of this stupidity, the controls are great, the reviewers are not. And about the steering wheel, well here you are just wrong on all aspects. Everyone that I know, loves the little steering wheel of those cars.

Another great review Bob! It's a smart looking car for sure, am with you about the steering wheel thought and would say a sunroof is a must to lighten it up.
First thing I do in the car, I drop down the steering wheel all the way down. So this Peugeot solution is for ones like me :) The most annoying thing in this car is the price.
Things I don't understand in today's cars. Having everything controlled by a touch screen (like you said.. bring back the knob!) I think if you want to test cars you must "open" your mind... You are pre formated on the "bigger brands"... I think if you make a blind test and this car have other brand mark you will say something very different for better.
i looked at this car, tried to get into the rear door and that was that...no chance, let room in the back pretty poor and head room with the sloping roof...maybe look at the SW when it comes out as less of a sloping door
Lovely car but over priced so not many on the road in the UK, I've seen one, but a nice alternative to the very common German brands who are no longer premium to me.
that's history on the reliability thing. very reliable now, sure there making the proace van and aygo small car for Toyota, the van is the Peugeot expert with Toyota badges stuck on. and the aygo is the same as Peugeots smallest car with with different nose.
@@brendanc5519 thanks for the correspondence Brendan. I suppose my own experience with a 307, over a decade ago put me off them. Keep up the good work.
It looks like a 4 door Ferrari isn't it Bob? I'd choose this over a 320i. But a Porsche Macan is still better...at the end of the day. The only true sports SUV out there.
Driving a mint 406 at the moment, picked it up for small money but always like the 406 and Peugeot from pre-2000, right down to the advert, th-cam.com/video/YCg5TVSKYgg/w-d-xo.html. Hated the 407 but I love this, it's low, it's lithe and it's a saloon with a hatch. With the blacked out rear lights they look like nothing else on the road atm.
i've never had any desire to own an suv and never will- i'll leave that to aggressive women and men aged 60-70 with high blood pressure. This car stands out so much in a sea of dull, predictable vehicles slightly taller than a 'normal' car so that the owner can't reach the roof when washing it.
Stephen Doherty I googled it and it said the Mondeo was getting a facelift, not being discontinued. Maybe you’re right, I’d be eager to find out regardless
Rattly diesel engine spoils the sporty car image... French crazy CO2 tax buying in France means they make smaller and smaller engines and often diesels. The result is a range of crap cars.,..
€50k for a fuckin Peugeot in gt line trim, you'd want to get your head checked. Yes it's a great looking car but been French car, all the electrics will pack up and the doors will fill with water when its rain..
508 starts at 32 000€ (3500€ less than a passat). The GT is 46 000€ which isn't cheap but isn't 50 000€ neither The model presented here is probably quite cheaper than the gt.

Sherukka too right, it suits the 3008 and 5008 just much. *ben
I got used to it but I've no trouble switching back to normal size wheels
Small steering wheel- best thing that happend to cars since wheel.
Fantastic review as always. That 508 is so contemporary, I love it.
Thank you Joe!
Stunning car to look at, seen a few in the metal and they are really sharp looking! 🤩

Peugeot certainly got the looks right with this one. Interesting to see how well it will sell in an SUV obsessed market.
Hopefully the 2020 co2 regulations will kill off a few SUVs.

Move to the Tropics.
Fixed.
I agree, I used to have that on my RCZ. However, if you live in Ireland, I doubt that will happen that often.

Donal Shanaghy that's what she said :)
I can buy one after 5 years, the car has great looks it will age well
What are the petrol options?
Car looks awesome. I need to agree with You Bob. Bring back old skool twisty knobs for aircon. To much hassle with touchscreen adjust....
