This would be one of those videos where I ask that you watch the full thing before you comment so that you get the full picture of the video. It's a hard topic, and I hope I approached it clearly and rightfully. I'm definitely nervous to talk about this problem, but I felt it was extremely necessary to speak up for the community.
I think you did really well with your presentation. Your topics were clear and everything you said was polite. Thank you for making content, I hope you continue to enjoy it, and good luck with your finals.
just stating my opinion, every community has its good and bad sides. no one is perfect, neither no community is perfect. AK is like a gold mine, once you find a nice place inside AK community, oh man, you'll love the feeling you're in.
I actually switched from Genshin to Arknights,. Arknights gives me a better sense of progression and as you said the daily content is pretty hands free. Adding to your comments on Tectone he takes things way to personally. He might only have a couple of people being negative but then extrapolates that into the whole community, he does the same thing with Genshin. To be fair to him thought it is a pretty common thing people do, its hard not to take things personal. Good luck on your tests!! If you dont know the answer just bring Surtr, usually works
To be fair to Tectone, that might be because of his hatedom. See, those fuckers don’t just hate him; they hate everyone who doesn’t hate him. And I know because I’ve tried advancing more moderate viewpoints to them. And there are more than a few of them.
To be fair to tec, half the time, in the genshin community, the drama isn’t even his fault. I remember one time on tiktok, people were hating on him for using the word loli and were calling him problematic for that. Like people in the genshin community hate on him for the tiniest shit.
The community is pretty chill to anyone who wants to join AK with giving advice and helping out newer players & Content creators, but that's from my own experience.
I don't care what others think about this community, there is some bad people as well as in another community. But i know that this community is very welcoming, friendly, and so much fun. And i'm happy to be part in this community. Take what's good and throw the bad away, cheers fellow doktah
Fr like, it comes to a point where you have to consider that maybe you are the problem lol (Talking about Tec) The community has almost NEVER had any drama that didn't involve him, he's the one that always instigates this kind of stuff and stirs the pot for no reason
@@miragealex8875 you mean there's drama there? Do ppl still use facebook? lol But even then if there's drama there the only BIG drama we've had was related to Tectone
@@jayvee3165 i don't mean about drama, i mean this community toxicity toward Tectone, because when someone post smth about Tectone, they go monkey and insult him for some old shit happen 2 year ago lmao
Out of the thousands and thousands of people I've interacted with across multiple Communities, I can safely say that each and every one has its good and bad aspects. The number of truly toxic aspects is almost always disproportionately low... and disproportionately loud, haha. I've found laughter to be their anathema, so just keep having fun everyone. Stay awesome Rhodes Islanders. As always: Cheers everyone!
On the other hand, you're one of the most notable, loudest yet respectful positive voice. Kinda like a reverse-Laurent. It's been a game to me to find an AK video and comment before you lol 😂
@@secretscarlet8249 Haha, yeah the Arknights Community has quite a few dedicated speedy commenters that often arrive before I do. Incidentally, thanks for the kind words. I just happen to enjoy spreading a positive atmosphere, so I do. Cheers!
I got into arknights after a friend asked me if i'd heard about it. She recommended it bc it was quite cool and different compared to other gachas- especially the emphasis on a good story and characters with thoughtful designs & outfits + a decent amount of male units compared to other games. (barring shamare for outfits, if you know you know. I cant wait to put that kid in her halloween skin.) I wanted more information so... Went looking on yt. Found tectone and enjoyed his videos at that point but was confused why he seemed to post drama or conflict videos so regularly. Didn't have any context for what the other party had done so just carried on thinking it must be relatively minor. He ended up quitting ak and I thought that was a shame and tried to find more info from the comments but there wasnt a lot between folks wishing him well and being sad. I'd been watching yters for a while so had learned to let stuff wash off my back unless it was something super major, thought i'd stick around and see what other games he'd try. He ended up posting a skit video with a joke I found offensive (i dont really remember quite what it was tbh but it made me do a double take) unsubbed and moved on with my life. When I tried genshin, and was into the game for i think 4-5 months I'd completely forgotten why i had unsubbed from him and gave his videos a try. But they were like.. Filled with so much more drama between creators and him? and as I had been watching other gi youtubers unlike with ak i could tell when something he said was just blatantly untrue (the stuff back with zhongli was... Really the tipping point) . I'd gotten into reddit bc of ak so ended up looking for more info on what actually went down between tectone and other content creators back in ak. And realised he's doing almost the exact same thing with genshin now as he did in the past. I dont doubt that he's had some really unpleasant interactions with some ak players tho even in the heights of aktectone, the reddit was incredibly helpful to newbies and generally friendly. The dramas he was involved with seemed to be more his very loud unfiltered personality stating some loud unfiltered opinions and then taking community content creators making videos about it, bc it became a big topic, as a personal slight. Arknights like any other community has had its share of people acting like jackasses, at times in my opinion tectone himself was one of them while also being the loudest as the ak yter with the biggest following. And he continues to bring up ak's community as a source of convo on streams bc clearly a lot of those old interactions still bother him. Every now and then I go to look at his yt and like clock work there's a video about drama or being cancelled and just....i'd enjoy it if he would put this topic to rest already. I've never been happier in the ak community than finding ak yters who enjoy playing the game and have interesting things to say, fun challenges to show off and simple tutorials to follow if needed. (afk tutorials are the best) Right now arknights, though its less popular than when he was involved, is honestly better than its ever been. (claim all button! The joy (jk)) So... While I no longer like tectone, I find him difficult to stand these days honestly, it'd be great if he would stop rehashing "arknights community TRASH" like this. We get it, you dont like ak or the players. Thats perfectly fine. I just dislike the spotlight and reputation he is giving all of us every time it comes up as if reminding everyone like this is necessary. It feels like living in his shadow and I'd much rather focus on and celebrate the content creators who continue to work hard to make thoughtful, funny or informative videos. Sorry for the long comment. Tl;dr: he seems to have a history of drama stirring. Would be nice if he wouldn't.
@@kukkikaze it did but felt like the details were important here since a lot of folks seem to think some ex fans dislike him for no reason (not implying thats what you think mind, ive just seen the sentiment flying around a lot when I was digging for more info on the various tectone ak conflicts as mentioned in the comment. It was pretty consistent too.) it was always either confusion about it or like. Idk feeling like they missed a ton of info.
@@chaosdestructionlove I read all of this gave me some light on the past seems like he needs some new stuff to talk about or go out more jesus. If he still talks about ak even tho he don't play it at all just reharsing the same stuff over and over again. I avoid drama like a plague i have enough of that without needing getting more online.
The exact same happened to me. I discovered Tectone when he was a small UIala YTer, who then got me into Arknights. After a while, I was sick of all the drama so unfollowed him. When I started playing Genshin he popped up, so I followed him again. After like 1-2 months though I realised his videos were the exact same and unfollowed again. I find his attitude to be hella toxic, and the "trash" community he always talks about is actually just his community. Just my opinion.
Tectone just can't go on without creating any drama, seen a clip of him comparing Genshin to how AK endfield model looks when running and shitting on it when the game isn't even released yet, and when he get attacked by AK player he blames it on the whole community, it's crazy.
Did you watch you whole thing though on his twitch though, because I saw two clips about that and it was a bit misleading as in they didn't put the full context in there.
@@boclox442 That's what they always do against Tectone. Take a certain part of the video and then put a bullsh*t caption. Teccy even called out one of those vids then the one that post said that it's just a "joke". Wtf?
@@boclox442 You’re not wrong that selective clipping is very risky in assessing a full situation. A bit derailed from this main comment, but to mention, this video was made ensuring that I watched the before and after part of the clip I showed to make sure I was covering the right story. There are quite a bit of people on the TH-cam space now that is trying to attack Tectone with selected clips which honestly I think is just a petty way of handling this problem. Even so, well… knowing the full picture doesn’t really improve the overall viewpoint in this matter.
Yeah you need to watch the entire clip or you'll get out of context clippers giving misinformation, been there once it's not a pleasing feeling at all to me at least.
I started playing genshin a lot earlier than I did arknights and happened to get to know tectone through his genshin videos first. One of his videos (as many have discussed) detailed his negative experience with the arknights community and his reason for leaving the game in favour of genshin. At the time his points sounded valid and having no experience with arknights and its community I took his words as the truth, and so he earned himself a follower. Over time, my interest in his content waned (I’m not a big fan of incessant aggressive raspy shouting) , but I found that no matter how hard I tried to avoid his content, there seemed to be arguments between tectone and other content creators whos content I did follow (i.e. vs Jinx regarding zhongli’s place in the meta, vs enviosity regarding their follower/subscriber count, vs tony to regarding damage showcases, vs Atsu regarding his tendency to surround himself with yes-men). I don’t want to jump to any conclusions, but there seems to be a rather significant correlation between “drama between content creators” and “tectone”. Nevertheless, I joined arknights at the coercion of some friends I made in a very wholesome discord server, and came to love the game and the community. I don’t find the six-month gap between CN and global content particularly concerning (as an FGO player, in which the gap between the JP and NA server is two years, I’ve seen much hornier, saltier, more toxic content) and while few, the interactions I’ve had with both CN and global AK players have been extremely pleasant. Suddenly tectone’s comments regarding the toxicity of the community (especially compared to genshin and considering his long-time absence from AK and it’s community) seem a lot less credible and objective and a bit more hate-driven. As much as it pains me to say this, I would rather tectone didn’t return to arknights. I am aware that I could easily disable my access to his content, but I’m certain that his stubborn and opinionated comments will return to seek me through his interactions with other content creators who I do like and have developed respect for, just like he has in the genshin content creation community. I do believe that the arknights community became the way it is now (with little to no drama) as a result of a particularly toxic, drama-igniting content creator who has moved to another game community and just so happens to be the centre of a large majorities of drama within that community, and honestly, I’d like for it to stay that way.
In shorts, you joined the genshin community first, and you agreed with tectone regards on arknight at the time, but then after you knew the arknight community wasnt as bad, you dont agree with tectone regards, correct?
yeah like ffs, friend drama needs to just stay between dms. If the other party did not do anything serious like sexual assault or whatever, and the beef if just beef, that shit needs to be solved only by those two parties and has no need for an audience. Tectone and his drama buddy leaked the Atsu dms to stir shit. The whole drama boiled down to tectone and Atsu having a personal disagreement and fallout, it wasn't even that serious. Tectone loves high school drama smh. You can also tell how toxic Tectone is by the drama hungry attitudes of his own followers.
@@hornetsilksong i think atsu first did a stream talking about how goose was a yes-men and daring(?) tectone to show his dms after he did a video that showed one of his tweets as "passive aggressive."
It's definitely a different vibe now from when the game came out. That guy has had drama in every game he's played because of his personality, it definitely had an impact on the community. All the creators making content for AK now are very friendly and welcoming, so to me, the community is way different than what it was back when the game came out in Global.
@@sammysusuu The problem about the comment is that we as the reader didn't know about their relationship (or how it was at that time) So, it read like Tectone was throwing shade at the community by baiting reactions It would have been better if he would have never made the comment public, so no misunderstanding could have happened. Whatever his goal was, I think it was just bad style in any case.
I generally agree with your views, kukki, and certainly I'm very glad AK has so many great content creators like you and others. My only "worry" is that he thrives on the drama and is more than willing to do anything to create it, and that can have a negative impact on the community. No doubt some enjoy drama, but man, I'm too old for that crap.
Damn lol Didn't even know there is a drama brewing in the community. Don't really care that the CN server is ahead of global, in fact I hope it stays that way lol That way I can plan for future banners and save my resources. The only thing I wish is IS to be released on global.
I actually like the fact that the CN server is ahead. Or rather, just to know that there's someone that is ahead of me in the story, regardless of the server. Mainly because then I can use guides if I get stuck on a level, and God Kyo and Ecko hasn't uploaded a guide for that stage yet XD
Hey Kukki! I would just like to say thank you so much for making this video. This video was neither a "hit piece" nor a "defense" to Tectone, it was just a video discussing him as a content creator. Like you, he was also the reason why I got into Arknights. At 16:45, you took the words right out of my mouth whenever I talk to people who don't like him. Don't get me wrong, he has a tendency to start shit (like his Endfield Reaction). I just feel that people really want him to stop talking about Arknights as if he still knows the goings-on in the community (there were even people in the clip asking him to stop talking about it). And while there are people who don't want him to come back, I would at least give it one more shot. Again, thanks for making this video. There aren't a lot of content creators who make videos about Tectone in a neutral light.
I never cared about the "wrong guides" or the misinformation. I stopped watching him because I found him annoying. Didn't realize he quit Arknights till about 2 weeks after his video lulul
I wholeheartedly agree with the part about the community and how content creators build their own community to make AK more welcoming to new players since it is one of the core parts of how community is being shape as it is like in Dota 2 or League of Legends the community they have set up is toxic because majority of the playerbase have a toxic and elitism mentality that rubs people off and the new players started to have that similar mentality the longer they play not to say everyone is like that some have a stronger mental fortitude than others. For the AK elitism it is really rare for me to find people with that attitude now since I'm guessing it is because those people already left after the first year of AK due to new games being release or because of other reasons like Ch'en Alter being release causing them to quit. For me I don't really mind it since it is a PvE game and there is no competitive elements in the game besides flexing CC risk. I get why people are upset with Tectone I too feel annoyed sometimes with his comments about the AK community the reason why it is because some of his comments are just lingering hatred from the past mostly talking about the negatives instead of the positives which really riles up some people like myself, in the clip he does not even acknowledge the fact that the Genshin community is even toxic than AK like some people threatening the lives of the Voice Actors and Actresses, a man walking into Mihoyo headquarter to find and stab the founders, people making a fuss out of the character skin colour, being overly competitive in a PvE game, etc. As for the the explanation of Operators its mostly due to some trial and error and foresight on the game I can see why some people are up in arms with his guides but for me it wasn't to the point where it felt like we should harass him for it, when it comes to explaining to a friend about the in and outs I always rarely leave out the aspect of "DO NOT" whenever I give them advice since it is how they want to enjoy the game itself.
I think anyone who still follows Tectone or is aware of the Genshin community, knows how heavily toxic it is and the man states that often himself. If the AK community as a whole has settled down more from it's elitist vibes from when I was more active in it then that's great, because players like myself have had plenty of bad experiences with games and their more general groups just for how we enjoy playing the game. My experiences with a number of games has come out so bad purely because of my personal playstyles in them; Arknights, Crash Fever, Elsword, Dota 2, Genshin Impact. I come to actively avoid tangling myself into game communities nowadays because of how often people will harass players simply on a difference of opinions. I left Crash Fever became heavily P2W, Nexon destroyed Elsword, especially it's PvP playerbase, and Dota after 15 years of involvement with the game because Valve mishandled my account, stole money from me, and the overall playerbase and competitive scene had become disappointing. Arknights I left for a long while and only came back during the Alter Skadi event because I got so much harassment just for using a S2 M3 Myrtle. It was only because of that that I found my way to Eckogen's and Tectone's communities.
Honestly the more I learn about this, the more I see it as just Tec being a magnet for toxicity. It didn't help that his AK videos went from just entertainment which was fine but then overtime his videos became very low quality and he tried to make guides when he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. And then when people were calling him out or even gave him advice but he straights up either goes full defensive mode and argue or just play the victim card. He's great as an entertainer but man can't handle any sort of opinion that goes against him. He says AK players are elitist when he cant even acknowledge other people's opinion if its different from his. What a hypocrite.
Not sure the move to engage with Tectone is wise. There will probably be people that force him to react to your video, just because they smell that it will generate drama, and that is what Tectone and his community seems to feed off, from what I learned about the guy.
I am a 5 month old player and I used to play Epic 7.We used to have feuds there but still it was and is a very good community.I expected AK to be similar to that but AK is something else.AK community welcomed me from the first day, gave me proper advice and as far as I can remember always helped me.I haven't seen such a loving community and I am very happy that I am a part of this community.
I remember being 5 months in and always asking for help, and I always got some great advice. Now a year and a half in and I'm the one giving advice lol. Arknights still is the game I've played continuously the most and as a mostly pc user, I'm so damn surprised. Anyways hope you have a great Ak journey just like I did!
As a veteran player of arknights i would say we've come a long way with ups and downs this is just another obstacle that we can handle and forget Let's just be a wholesome and welcoming to new doktahs and keep pushing forward
I didn't really mind it when Tectone left but what I hated was how he keeps slandering the AK community, even up to this day, and his words influence these bunch of sheep who would chant the same. I don't think we should gatekeep any content creator who left arknights but wanted to try endfield but I just fear that Tectone coming back with his mad followers would bring harm to the community if they don't behave themselves. I still can't believe he and his community cancelled JinJinx from Genshin when they debunked his takes about Zhongli. Or when he argued with Dreamy based on her research. I just don't want these things happening again to AK content creators like Kuki, Kyo, Ecko, etc.
If I'm merely hating him, I wouldn't pay him any attention. But I pay attention to him because of the exact reason you wrote. Some people are not suited to draw, some people are not suited for sports, and Tectone is definitely not suited to be an influencer.
@@Exath8630 way I see it he is suited but in the way that brings ruin and drama anywhere he goes and personally I’d like him to stay away from AK until he somehow calms the f down.
@@yoru505 yeah, that means you would turn the entire community against you and that's bad for business xD. His fanbase needs to at least be a little bit bigger to manipulate the narrative.
Referring to the clip, I think by saying "CN is superior" it's probably mostly because it's the advanced server. They have more new mechanics and characters available and in which may or may not shift the meta, and so by that, gameplay changes. In short: They know more.
@@chitochihiro yeah They do know more due to the firsthand experience, but on the other hand there are other content creator who share CN content so us Global players can get a gist of what's to come But I guess some CN players do tend to argue on EN player's perspectives since what they're seeing are old-fashioned compared to the current meta on CN
I see that as a blessing as an EN player. I'm not a whale, sometimes just buy monthly card. Somewhat it's nice to see from CN what banner and operator will come to EN so I can save resources.
They know more, but we know what banners are to come in the next 6 months. We actually know more XD (Just joking about the 6 month gap we have, not trying to be offensive or anything)
I've been playing ak since just before dossoles and in that short time I've found the community really welcoming and friendly. All my comments on arknights videos/posts have been met with helpful advice, I've made friends with people I'd never have spoken to by talking about the game and just overall I've found this one of the friendliest online communities I've been in for a long time. No fandom is going to be perfect but the ak community is one of my favourites.
Well, Tbh, I'm sharing my experience with everyone here. When tectone left arknights, it was impactful to me and the game itself, it was when that time I was feeling kind of burnout, due to the fact that arknights wasn't in a good situation and no decent events are coming and they aren't opening specific stages for 2 weeks which would be wonderful but didn't happen. What kept me playing from arknights was actually CC, believe or not cuz it was extremely challenging back then due to the limit of operators and experience (materials and stuff). And I'm glad that I stayed, Arknights soon noticed the problem and started limited operators and kinda kept going, they didn't gave up on the game, nor did I. W was actually interesting(due to being a villain back then) and when they started limited ops, the community came back , it was alive. More content creators came, Arknights became a new game that's great to old and new players, although some inappropriate stuff might appear, but at least it's not a dying game unlike Laurent's best game( if you know, you know).
Yeah Laurent did boost TH-cam's Algorithm to favor Arknights contents more back then. Whether it was his/her intention or not, he/she played a major role even though he/she was a troll. And there was also AkiRose if I am mistaken, who was notorious for re-uploading AK videos of BiliBili content creators to TH-cam WITHOUT permission, but that also helped AK soared into popularity. Like it or not Tectone, Laurent, and other former AK content creators propelled AK to popularity when the game was literally crawling on its knees during those first 6 months of Global release.
@@lukmaanpratomo6866 I agree with u, they really did boost arknights back then, but arknights did proved to us that they can still live without them, although Tectone left, Arknights still managed to survive without his presence.
I got in arknights because of a friend, He taught me to pass stages, gave me reccomendations and I started to get out of my shell and joined discord servers like the offical one and AK CCs. I also influenced like 5 people to play arknights, some of them left and some stayed, found many friends along the way. AK community is really friendly and like really smart, sometimes my braincells are barely working and the community hold out their hands and make me see what did wrong and their opinion is really eye opening and like they explain that is supposed to be a little bit complicated and make it sound so simple.
There has never been a content creator i've felt more conflicted about than Tectone. Like many, i relied heavily on his guides and enjoyed his presentation. as a rather boisterous guy myself i kinda see eye to eye with his style. I was one of his defenders, thinking that he had truly been unjustly treated. However, his departure always struck me as a little convenient, what with genshin shooting up in popularity. adding on to how he cant seem to let this matter rest, the more i interacted with the community the more i just saw that tectone was.. well, wrong. he was just wrong on so many things. He's a very opinionated man, i get that, but his vehement defense of opinions that are factually wrong just makes him seem like a bit of a manchild, tbh. and drama. Tectone has been involved in so much drama, with the other party supposedly treating him terribly every time, it stands to contention whether he, the common denominator, was the problem all along. till now i cant bring myself to hate tectone. he truly did help me in my early days of arknights, and i dont want to believe that hes just a bad actor as such. but maybe that's just me clinging on to an old image of an old time. the more i think about it, the more i believe that it would not be good for tectone to cover endfield. For us, and for him.
I personally still find him immature that he can't even move on from that dark past of his Like damn, grow-up, he's suppose to be better than what he was in those days especially that he's a content creator He's suppose to be a professional and good role model as one after those year and a half, but seeing him like this, I don't think so..
Wait, what? Ok what did the community do? *See it's Tectone* Oh, never mind then... That aside, i think that the Arknights community is welcoming to new players and can be friendly too. However, they can be too out of control and weird sometimes. (Remember the endfield discord incident?). But anyways, the community may have some drama there and there, but overall the AK community is not bad or toxic like some says. I, myself are here just making some fun jokes or give advices and information about the game to newcomers that are seeing my comments with more peeps like Mr. Rhodey, The Patriot, Shura, etc. (I also tend to avoid drama). All i can say is that for me, the AK community welcomes all to those that play the game or interested in the worldbuilding. Whatever your problems are in the game, we'll gladly help you out. This is Dr. Revs, signing out. Peace!
whenever I met people from the genshin community that keep saying "AK is trash, Genshin is better" I just responded with "Yeah just like your anniversary rewards" and they leave me alone immediately
@@notlin The way they handled things before and during surely made it worse. The shit show was the result of a lot of mishandlings combined with some loud childish part of the community. It was glorious thing to see ngl.
I didn't even know about Ark Knights until now, and I don't participate in toxic fandom wars so I had no idea Genshin players trash talk this game. I heard about a new Arknights game is in development, so no one can make any bold assumptions of the game being good or bad. Genshin had their beta test, and how the game was in the beta, was WAY different from the game that's officially released. So, I'm actually excited to see what Arknights Endfield would have to offer when they release the game
Thank you kukki for this video. I've had discussions with people hating on tec but it definitely helps coming from a creator. If he wants to join to play Endfield he should be able to do so. This community should move past old wounds as we are in the best state we have ever been as a community. I genuinely love this game so i hope once AK endfield comes out, AK will grow immensely then.
I feel like the community has already long since moved past it but when clips like these surface I'm sure people will have something to say about it again.
He's a different breed, once the game comes out. Trust me, he'll make another drama out of it again and knowing the community, most will react in a negative way and that will once again boost his channel and once again some people will say move on and that will repeat again and again and again
The majority of people will never forget what he did. And now he make this kind of comment ? He already cooking up drama when the game is not even release. That guy is always up to no good.

I also got into AK when Tectone was playing it (I discovered him AFTER I started playing AK). When he quit AK and told us why he was leaving I was surprised. So he moved on for fair reasons and I of course kept playing AK. So I'm kinda surprised he mentioned AK community again like this and how it is ''still'' ''bad''. And the last interaction he had was from over a year ago or something ? Pretty unfair take if you ask me. This is also a way to reignite or trigger the same community. He left out with a bang and then when people moved on he kinda does this drive-by just to take few shots at the community. Here we are just chilling and having a great time and we are now targeted by him and his community by ridicule and slander. Which community was bad again ? He is a bit of a drama queen and he talks before he thinks and that means his takes aren't very good because of this. He doesn't research things, he just throws it out there without a second thought and as a content creator and influencer it means some people might just unconditionally believe his every word. This is one of the reasons he attracts so much drama towards him. It's the classic example of a loud mouth causing trouble to himself and others. That being said I don't think he is a bad person. I just hope he would take some more time to think through what he is going to say about things, especially when his opinions might effect how others act or see things. I think it's the mature and responsible way of approaching things.
the AK's community is different for every perspective, I would say it's not bad honestly, I'm really enjoying every ounce of it, it's healthy as well as its gacha rates
I'm a relatively new Arknights player. I've had an account since Global launch but didn't really start to like it till recently so I'm quite behind. I've experienced a bit of Elitism but I'm the kind of Creator that doesn't give a fuck about them. I just ban them if they can't respect my rules in my streams or videos. I don't watch guides, I don't take advice during my playthroughs, I want to learn on my own unless I'm having a ton of trouble or don't understand something then I'll ask my communinty for assistance. Anyone who can't handle that or gets triggered by how I do things, I just ban them. I want to enjoy the experience for myself, learn the mechanics, and interact with those who respect how I want to play. HELL, I DON'T EVEN USE SUPPORTS BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THAT'S HAND HOLDING. HOWEVER, I can't say that the community is bad. I've met a ton of amazing people in the community who are willing to help when needed, tell me about amazing upcoming stuff, hype me up to talk about upcoming content. This community is amazing a very helpful (excluding the assholes mentioned earlier). I love this game and the community. TLDR; This community is not bad. Just has a few bad apples just like every community
What you just said is just facts. Ive been a long time user on r/arknights and the people on the help megathread are just the best. I remember just recently starting just before the R6 collab and i didnt know what to do with OD-8 lmao (i hate that boss with all my heart) but i just really wanna progress and then i showed my units on r/arknights and i totally didnt expect someone to make a gameplay video of their own using the same units that i have. Sure it may be cheating but that dude was a blessing for my newbie brain. I also found some quite helpful information there like a calculator to calculate how many pulls you can get until a specific banner, a prep sheet for future ccs etc. There is also that other part of r/arknights where its usually people hating on techno, saying the game is dead (especially when chen alter released 💀), people hating on other game, weird people.. _ehem mostly horny people tho ehem_
I was around when the whole thing went down. From start to finish, I tried so hard to stay neutral but it just seems like he knows exactly what he was doing which kinda further disappointed me. Even after more than a year of leaving the game, he just simply won't move on and keeps on shitting the game when given the chance. However, I can say that the community grew up moments right after he left which I don't know whether to be grateful about it or not or maybe both. Sure the community is horny as hell but they're not doing anything toxic like elitism or whatever else he called the community on. Tectone seems to be the only person that turns the community toxic in a way and that kinda says a lot.
I remember watching Tectone when I started. I was in the discord when he would argue with the official discord server and tell them they are stupid for thinking this character is bad or this character is good. The discord server admins argued with him and then deleted some of his posts. Like 3 days later he put out his youtube about quitting the game because of the CN/Global people being toxic and that people accused him stealing content from Bilibili. I don't know how his DMS and private interactions were but he was just as "toxic" as some of the people on the official discord server were at times. I really liked his content but man he really kind of needs to let it go. It would be fun if he came back to the game with an open mind. As for the CN/vs Global.I personally would say it is like that in a ton of games even ones like FFXIV. I don't think it is too bad but at the same time I can't speak for him. I would just say that he wasn't as innocent as he stated he was in his original video.
Honestly altho I think gatekeeping is a bad thing, in this case it's relatively justified. Tectone isn't only disliked for his lack of research as it was back in the day, he's also disliked for his way of using arknights basically as a rant topic to generate views from genshin players that already have a bad opinion about the game due to tectones old information about the stand of the community. I personally also really dislike him for his latest "beef" where he made dreamy, a very informative content creator, basically to the devil in front of his community. He curled up an old argument between the 2 to get a bit of clicks out of it since genshin has been really lackluster at that point in time. The bad thing about it is tho that after dreamy made a statement about her point of view, he came around to calling her b*tch multiple times on stream and accusing her of gaslighting him, altho he's been doing the gaslighting all along and the sad thing about all this was is that his manipulative way of talking made this absurd thing believable to his community which they than got around to hating on dreamy even more then he already did. Doing this to a person just because your game isn't doing well at the moment and you need new "content" for videos is absolutely disgusting in my view and for the sake of something like this to not happen again to a content creator like you kukki or anyone else I would gladly appreciate him staying away from this game on social media. If he wants to play this alone in his free time that's totally fine. I just don't want him to get involved with anyone I like in this community so that there won't be any bad blood created in the first place that could lead to future bad events. Thank you for reading this long comment on my view on that topic.
@@bread6052 she did a video on a character tectone called garbage iirc, he took it like she was directly disagreeing with him. Then i think last year she posted what really amounted to as a "yeah that drama was rough" comment referring to the first situation on someone else's vid and tectone blew up about, again. There's a play by play on reddit if you want to read about it yourself, the op documented each step and how it escalated at each point, until i guess dreamy felt it was best to just step back.
This is why I respect you instead of shitting on the dude and just put him in a complete bad light, you actually use a lvl head and just stat the facts.
Honestly, the worst I've seen in this community was when Tectone was playing. He is a drama magnet in any game he plays and I only know this because I see posts about it from time to time. I'd rather never see/hear of the dude at this point tbh. I was subscribed to him back then but then realized after being subscribed to him for a while he's kinda an arrogant asshole. The toxicity that he experienced was of his own making imo
he speaks his unfiltered opinion and cares little about the repercussions. hes an immature man child. you could blame modern americans logic, "if you dont directly align with my ideology then youre wrong, and i will roast you for it." that is a big problem, but still, he knows what he is doing. the main problem i have with it is how he said "the AK community is way worse!!" LOLLL from his point of view. he made it bad, look where it is now. his new community is laughable. anyways have a good one
I just think he's stirring up the pot just to gain more views as he always does. Even in Genshin he thrives in controversy such as the Zhongli controversy, Atsu drama, etc. Some of the Genshin community hate him. Quite frankly, it's not the problem of the community if the man keeps finding himself controversy after controversy.
As a returning player to arknights, thank you for shedding light to this topic. Your content in this game made me stay this time around. More power to you :D
On community side, as a Day 2 Genshin and 4 months AK player, I love a lot of people will actually give opinions and helps instead of saying git gud. I hate toxic GI community, they always think they are better or the chosen one. But if you hate the community, please hate only the toxic community, they dont represent the whole game or whole community, just like those toxic AK community dont represent the game itself On content creator side, funny enough I don't watch ANY of Genshin impact youtube video, I hate a lot of Genshin Impact content creator exaggerating on some small things or even click bait title, "10 MISTAKE YOU ARE STILL DOING" "OMG THIS IS SO BROKEN....." stuff, and that is why I love a lot of AK content creators including Kukki always straight to the point.
The Arknight community is great in my eyes everyone is fun always giving advice and helping, with the (often) occasional hornni shit show always entertaining And to the people who's scheming to gatekeeping Ketone from Endfeild... Why? That won't do anything just ignore him and do your annihilations
"Do your annihilations". thanks man, finally got my auto running fine for the latest stage (the lag from sandstorm and those originium dust enemies made my prts had a hard time keeping up lol)
Great video! Thx for Tectone I switched from Genshin(wich was great game but at some point started evolving into, to say the least, time-abusing one) to AK(hands free dailies + lot of fun in events + great story), and I'm grateful to him for his old AK videos that led me to AK. Kuki, thx for your contribution for AK's great content and its healthy community!
As long as we're good to each other I don't care what others think about us. The only big dramas we've had were because of Tectone so I think it's a good decision to gatekeep AK from HIM SPECIFICALLY and be welcoming to everyone else. Another issue is that he has too much of a hate boner for the community now to unironically play Endfield without shitting on us all the time, and I could guess most people don't want that. If he returns he'll certainly be snarky towards everyone that isn't a fan of his 99% of the times and that will just be obnoxious and annoying. The issue isn't his content, but the image he passes of the community and the people he will attract towards us. He rallies his fans over the premise that "AK community bad" and that's not something we should just accept even if his content is innoffensive. This happens rarely but the issue here is really the person, not the content
My problem with Tectone is that he is one of those clickbait YTubers. I watched him a bit, it was mildly entertaining, but after like 10 videos, it felt more clickbait and drama than getting information from a video. It started getting irritating, so I stopped watching his videos. I really hate that people want more clickbait and drama than information (just look at the views). Well, it works since they get the clicks they want because average people keep buying it. This applies to a lot of popular channels also (in different fields and topics). I wonder how people get entertainment from clickbait channels that regularly starts obvious artificial drama for the sake of views. It personally stresses me out.
There definitely is some CN elitism still present, especially in the discord servers. I love looking ahead at the future content and talking about it, and I had to leave one of my old servers because there was a certain user added there who was just unbearable to be around who would talk down to all players there (including several famous AK youtubers) because we don't play on CN. Guy was a legit troll. Mods wouldn't ban him so a bunch of us left and server ended up dying. There is also a lot of meta elitism and people unable to think outside the box, but I think thats a different definition of bad than the one you are talking about in the video. Regardless, there are a bunch of great people in our community and every gaming community has terrible people in it, so its understandable. You have to find the good in things. And like you said you can block the bad or just not watch or participate with their community.
tbh discord really had that elitism vibe going on,no matter if its game, anime, manga etc since its basically a group of tight knit community and newbies kinda hard to get into the community imo.thats why i generally avoid from checking out discord groups. whereas other sites like reddit with AK subs had the sense of openess where you can ask anything about the game and people generally responds there,so in that i more prefer going to reddit and be comfortable than to discord
elitism is not uncommon in every community, its also a way to make newcomers eager to get deep into them, whether its skill, in-game roster, or lore knowledge in a way its what made them alive. but if a game/manga community gets political it can sparks terrible debates inside, we already had once for short but luckily we moved on from it.
@@mercamia i feel if u asked most people about elitism most people would have a negative response. being serious about the game =/= elitism. i think elitism kills communities since it is hostile to new players which kills growth, a common complaint about many hostile online communities is elitism. i don't think the arknights community is like that in general and if you ask a question you will get an honest non-condescending answer.
Elitism is like, 1% of the community. When he talked about "CN superiority", the only thing that came up in my mind is the official discord server that only consist of what? 1% of community? 0,1%? In any public server, the active members won't even reach more than 1% of total member. I'm only engaging the community on FB rn and I've never seen any of so-called "CN superiority. The only "CN superiority" I've seen is only from local FB group that have reputation for being elitist and even so, it only happened like 3-4 times in 2 years and only half of them is big enough to be known outside the group. Let's just say it's true anyway, he said it in a way as if AK community is way worse than GI's which absolutely not true lmao. At this point, maybe we can say that Tectone is objectively a dumbass.
I love Tectone as a genshin player myself, but the man just can't stop giving L takes lol. No community is perfect, there will always be assholes ruining things for everyone (like Twitter); in regards to what Kukki said, it's our job as the majority to make it a nice place for everyone.
I don't wanna shit on the Genshin community since I'm not a part of it and don't know much about it, but he compares the Genshin and Arknights communities in order to state that Arknights' community is worse. In my own experience, I don't usually hear drama from the Arknights community, even though I'm a part of it, but I can't go a week without hearing that something or other's got the Genshin community riled up and I'm not even a part of their community.
I'm a little disappointed that still after all this time Tectone tries to drag down Arknights as much as he can. Unless he secretly followed our community he wouldn't know how we interact with each other. I hope this video goes through to him since you displayed your thoughts very nicely, Kukki. But I'll doubt that Tectone is the kind of guy who would actually change his opinion no matter how much arguments go against it. Hopefully I'm wrong tho... Anyways I'd really like to know what non-Arknights players think about this whole situation.
Before I watch the video let me just say. Tectone is one of the guys that I watched when i was just starting AK, he really hyped it up and got me going. I don't think he's a bad guy per se, but he can come across as an @$$hole sometimes, no cap. I think he's still salty about the whole drama which I suppose he has a right to be, but I think it's time to just stop mentioning it honestly since everything has been cleared up and resolved. What I don't appreciate is him painting the AK community in a less than favorable light because of his unpleasant experience. Generally, I think it's a great community, the twitch scene, though small, is wholesome and quite supportive of all the streamers. The reddit scene is extremely helpful to fresh players and usually quite reasonable. The YT scene is quite nice also with many guides and my personal favorite: skill ceiling demonstrators that do stuff like 1P relays and stuff that show how far you can go in what may seem like a 'simple tower defense game'. I can't vouch for the discord community since I don't frequent that circle and have heard some interesting stuff about it. This community isn't perfect, but I think the nature of the game itself automatically gatekeeps the community of zombies due to the patience required to learn the mechanics and the thought required to plan and play the stages.
@@the3rdolenyevasibling225 most prominent one is tectone dreamy drama and one where the AK discord discourage users from checking out tectones content ,dont know if theres other drama
As someone who started AK during Mountain's release and a day-1 Genshin player, I can very much say AK's community is significantly better. Admittedly both are flawed communities, but with the sheer audience that Genshin has in comparison, there will naturally be more toxicity there. I find that AK's community's vices are very different from Genshin's though. Genshin is very SJW and Twitter warriors, with their moral high horses, whereas AK has elitist tendencies and borderline misogyny sometimes, which is prevalent in alot of male-dominated games but an issue nonetheless. The statement doesn't apply for everyone in the respective communities obviously, and is largely based on my own experiences, but it's why I only interact with a small group of friends from each community rather than big discord servers nowadays.
@@gamingrex2930 I agree. Trying to find art of the male ops on nsfw arknights subreddits is like looking for a needle in a haystack which is disappointing (and a little annoying).
Honestly there's a lot of misogyny in the Genshin community too from what I hear (my girlfriend is more active lurking in the community), it's just less blatant than "woman bad" or objectification (although there is still a lot of objectification but that's unfortunately a social norm still, even if it's starting to be weaned out). Genshin itself doesn't help with the misogyny either as a lot of the female character story quests (I say female because there are also seemingly underaged characters that also are part of this) are much weaker or are blatantly there for waifu bait. There are good, well-writen stories in the character profiles but not everyone reads them so that's where some misconceptions come from. One misconception is that Ganyu (essentially a half-god for those who don't know) is too OP for "who" she is, despite many male characters also being "stronger" than what would be accurate story-wise. The first Ei story quest and main story was also weak and she was very waifu-ified (without any consequences for her actions) and Ayaka's story quest was literally just a date... It's not as blatant as other forms of misogyny, but female characters that should be strong should have character stories written to explore that since... that's what character stories are for. Zhongli and Venti, both archons like Ei, have much stronger character stories that look at their histories and why they are the ways they are, to an extent, but... You just go on, what amounts to, a date with Ei because Mihoyo knows people think she's hot and want a waifu. It's an issue that is rooted in misogyny and I'm sure there are better people out there to explain it than me LMAO An issue I find with Arknights in the same vein is sexualising minors and characters who are very obviously children is common and even if they are just "characters" it does normalise the real-world equivalent because the attraction is to the child-like features, behaviours and personalities... Something of note within the Genshin community though is that a lot of its community (especially on twitter) are young LGBTQ+ people and afab people (no I'm not going to argue about trans-rights or LGBTQ+ rights with anyone if it comes up I cba) and they hopefully will grow out of the toxic behaviours because teens are still children even if they think they're mature and they're still growing and learning how to function in society. Shipping wars are stupid but if you're a hormonally charged teen then it feels like a cause you need to lay your life down for ig... Also I'd like to note that SJWs at this point are generally just performative allies for w/e cause they "represent" and don't speak for those communities but can sometimes have some sense in what they say Somewhere but often miss the point by a long shot. TLDR; Genshin's twitter fanbase are widely teens and puberty hits hard so they're toxic and learning to be people. The game itself unintentionally fuels misogyny within the Genshin community but it's not obvious unless you're aware to it. Arknights has a good community afaik but there are issues with misogyny/objectification of afab people (but that's common for any male dominated space, like you said) though there is also an issue of sexualisation of characters who are minors which normalises the real-world equivalent through idealising/sexualising child-like features, behaviours and personalities. Edit: there is also a lot of elitism in the Genshin community from what I hear with f2p and meta players talking mad shit about each other and each other's favs Arknights has a more chill community tho from what I've seen but that's because there are more adults/older teens afaik
as a woman honestly the genshin community is way worse for misogyny like the arknights fandom is no saint and can be creepy at times but no community has more of a hate boner for both female characters and female fans more then the genshin fandom
Hey Kukki. Hope you are doing better than before. I wanted to let you know, as a fellow uni student, your videos have helped my keep my hopes up about life outside of work so your hard work in making these videos have been a breath of fresh air from the collapse of final exams. Good luck with your work btw!
Honestly of all the game communities I've been in, AK is definitely the nicest. Everyone feels like they're here to help each other out. In other games I've played, people call you names for just not doing so well, saying you suck at the game, etc. I've never had that encounter in the AK community (granted I'm still relatively new, but still), and I really appreciate that. Also good luck with your finals Kukki!
As a CN player myself, I have to say that people who play on the CN server will not care about how long you are into this game, the event limit thing all gets a rerun or will get in the future, the only thing that shows how long you played maybe just the potential of Savage. As I know that players on the CN server are very curious about what people from other countries think about this game because they love this game and want others to enjoy it too. Many homework teams(Kyo in CN) were also talked about if all the servers can be on the same timeline so that all the players can play a part in like who is the first to get the highest rank in every CC. I personally don't like tectone and decide to stop watching him was just because he said some bad words to Angelina because his own fault on activating the skill and let the red katana guy pass,I'm really into the lore or I am just being to sensitive😂 After all, players are all welcome to the game and I really hope more and more people can enjoy this great game. (Sorry if my bad English confusing you, I'm still learning this language.)
I understand Tectone's opinion but genshin is way bigger and in return there's more toxic players and hate comments. AK community is bad, toxic yes I agree with that but but it is also brilliant and fun and to imply that AK community is worse than genshin community is just a blatant lie. AK CN's community negative responses towards events (Chalter, etc) pales in comparison compare to Genshin's community negative responses towards events (1st Anni). I actually like tectone's vids when he's covering AK and Genshin but after some obviously low-quality videos probably march or april 2021 I unsubbed to his channel. I still don't understand why he left AK because of toxic community (white knights of AK) and then joined the Genshin community (the *least* toxic community first anni wink wink) I still like him playing with other YT people though like Connor, Emily etc. I don't hate him but I also lost interest with his videos. Still wishing for him the best.
I think him saying he left AK because of the community is just a lie. GI has a bigger playerbase so he can get a bigger audience when playing it and I think it's probably also easier to stream Genshin than AK (I don't play GI so I'm not 100% sure on that I'm just assuming cause it's an open world game)
@@sidyT9 not the case dude he covered 2 vid(i think) plus he even uploaded a vid months ago about takdes and him so ye most of the AK community hate him without the valid reason when you ask for source they just dodge it lmao
@@mr.nifuji7269 what about the whole dreamy situation where he uploaded a video on his second channel claiming they set their differences aside while showing a post from dreamy to prove that which actually had nothing to do with their whole drama cause she was actually talking about something related to Pallas (I don't follow dreamy so I don't know what exactly was going on there but it had nothing to do with tectone). I also wouldn't call tectone going on his twitch and repeadetly calling dreamy a bitch "setting their problems aside"
@@mr.nifuji7269 No? The case was about something happened 2 years ago when he was quit AK, i don't know the exact reason but something happen between him and AK Community. He was asked why he quit AK and he blame the community, he also blame and address some of AK youtuber Dreamy, Takdes, etc. That's the start of AK Community completely hate him. Tectone can hate some of it's community but don't mention other people that doesn't responsible on it's community.
You handled this video incredibly well Kukki. I think the key thing here, is that overall the community has not only changed immensely but has so many different facets that Tec making such a blanket statement about the community not only implies every facet is the same, but that they're incapable of change which.... is just insane. I really appreciate where you're coming from throughout this video. I've been playing Arknights for about nine months now, and overall I have come to really enjoy the community in a lot of different ways. I tend to gravitate towards yourself and Eckogen as you're not as 'uncanny' as often as some of the others. However, I am no strange to the NSFW side of AK either. I think there's merit to both sides and as long as no one is actively being hurt there's no harm no foul. Go to what portion you'd like to participate in. I'm largely disappointed in the way Tectone has handled this situation. As you mentioned its about a year and a half, almost two years out now. The fact that he is still referencing - at length - the AK community shows the level of impact this had on him, and while I understand people are effected differently by everything... I dont believe the way he's chosen to hurt rather than heal has at all helped him distance himself from AK, nor helped shorten the divide between Gacha Players. The most disappointing thing for myself was that a lot of Tectone's advice, early on in AK for me was incredibly useful. There were a few things I didn't agree with but that's all personal taste - squad setups, priority for leveling, waifu >= meta, stuff like that. And to see how he has handled his disagreements within the community is honestly quite disappointing...let alone the fact he hasnt been able to let it go. Great video on the topic Kukki. I think you explained yourself quite well, and spoke for a good portion of the community in a very articulate way.
I love that you put out content like this, Kukki. It's difficult but necessary work for communities to be introspective enough to critique themselves and address their own problems. Good communities don't just spring forth from the aether, they arise because good community leaders do this hard and uncomfortable work then others follow their lead.
Apart from the slander that Tectone gave to the entire Arknights community, the one thing I don't like about him, as well I can't deny is his influence. He has a big mouth that TH-cam seems to love. There are people none the wiser that will unfortunately have him as the first opinion, and sometimes their only opinion. I see him collab with some of my favorite content creators, which unfortunately he will also coax them to his own opinion, because he made the persona as the go-to "gacha person" . So whether I like it or not, block him, play dumb; his has a scene of opinion you can't ignore. I play Genshin Impact too, and despite actively avoiding his content, I still find him; in the drama llama section. Arknights community ignored him, and dude still got himself into drama. I'm starting to think he likes that shit. My opinion became so low that despite a whole cast of awesome content creators, he was there, and sadly was enough for me to stop watching the collab. He'd probably jerk off reading to this comment, because he knows I can't do anything about that.
Well, i used to watch tectone as well. I was hoping he would upload so.e arknights videos, but at some point he didnt. Months later he basicly said "I left arknights because YOU are toxic". He showed some toxic comments and projected them on the whole community. Never saw those comments on the first page of comments, which were especially about his staring in the advertisments back then. It would have been fine if he said "hey i experience a lot of backlash from individuals and thats why I stopped." But he said specificly, out of the blue, that the whole community is hateful. Naturally everyone who remembers that still has a grudge. Then he did something similar in the GI community. Yes, he produced drama there, too. The problem is not his not exactly correct advice (even though that can really demotivate noob players!) It that he is a walking drama machine that shifts with the wind, an oppurtinist. I fear that he will bring drama to the community and provide a rearing ground for toxic people.
I think it's very obvious that every community have its bad sides, it's just how it is some people are just like that and you can't change that. And if you don't like what they do just ignore them, your experience of a game can't be ruined just because of the community.
as much as I want to agree with this, this is obviously not true at least not in every case. I would argue sometimes the community can really spoil your experience of a game.
Hey Kukki, thank you for this video! As someone who has been in the Arknights community for 6 months now, I can honestly say that I have been treated with nothing but kindness from everyone. And I really love this community! I have only ever had experience with Tectone's content while he has been doing Genshin stuff, and I am a day-1 Genshin player myself. I feel like it's very unfortunate that his experience in the Arknights community wasn't great but that's still his experience. If he comes back I hope he will have a better time. Hopefully everyone can respect each other and the different communities each content creator brings.
The only thing I would be worried about for Tectone and Endfield isif he lets his previous feelings about the community and AK color his opinions, and then those opinions further color things for players which could damage the reputation of the game. Like you said he's really good at amassing a following of people and influencing them so that could be a little bit scary. That said, I would love if Tectone were to find his AK passion again, I also largely got into AK due to his videos and enthusiasm and I think it'd be cool to have that back.
I mainly do my daily quests and events in AK, but I have been having a great time for the past six months. AK has been one of the most welcoming communities I've experienced and with generally kind and supportive members. Good luck with your studies Kukki!
Hey kukki, fellow sg undergrad here, wishing you the best for your last stretch for this sem, summer break is coming ard, can't wait to see the content you'll put out then!
As someone plays Arknights and Genshin, for two years and one respectively, I usually avoid interacting with communities because I prefer to enjoy the games alone. I watch a few content creators who post short animated videos or clips, but that is about it. The only time I ever heard of serious 'toxicity' in the AK community was when Tectone left, and after I saw some of his content, I was honestly glad to see him go. Other than that, I agreed that most of what I have seen of AK's community is welcoming. What I see of Genshin Impact's community is a bit more mixed in how it treats itself and the game they play. The people I usually watch are the types who make beautifully animated music videos and post story moments worth watching again because of how good they are. I love and still play Genshin because of these, but, in my opinion, the attitudes and behaviour of the community justify the poor 1st anniversary rewards. Especially after how they treated Kokomi's voice actress just because her character couldn't demolish world bosses in a few hits or heal as great as people wanted her to. Both games and their communities are not perfect, but I really wish people could just enjoy either or both without feeling the need to drag the other game or anyone else down. You're doing great, and more people should be as reasonable as you are.
Not being toxic or anything but his Human existence doesnt concern me but yeah just like kal'sit she hates the doctor so much i hate tectone so much but what i can do about it he's there and always be there.
I knew tectone would attack the arknights community eventually when endfield was released, the fact is, is that text caused most the problems on community servers especially the rhode island hq server, not us, we are not like that anymore, havent been for a while. We are just horny, but friendly.
I once saw an arguement in a yt comment section and two ak players misunderstood each other and basically fought, and at the end they reached an understanding and said sorry for not understanding.. thats literally the first arguement i saw on the internet that got resolved... I think ak is a pretty good community
This community helped me with many things. And after playing this for a long time and being involved in it. I can say that this community is very understanding.
People can say everything they want about the community. I still love to be the part of it. Please visit us and judge it by yourself rather than listening to people who are clearly trying to antagonize us. we're simply trying to defend what we love . "lol it's just a game" say that to every media that has a fanbase, not just AK, because it's very humane for people trying to protect what they love
You said something I've always thought and said: Tectone is an entertainer first and foremost. He's not a meta guy. There are some content creators who are mainly here to entertain, not to be meta and whatever - the problem, in my opinion, comes from those entertainers having no self-awareness and making themselves out to be experts. That's one of the biggest problems Tectone had IMO, he insisted that he knew everything when he was either badly informed or made wrong assumptions. When he got called out on it, it was called elitism. Meanwhile there are entertainers (my favorite is Moga, he plays Genshin) that make me laugh and have a good time and aren't trying to be "meta". I have a lot of thoughts on this but I'll leave it here before it gets too long lol. Thank you for the video :)
I still watch Tectone quite a lot on Twitch and I enjoy his content for the most part. Used to want him to go back to Arknights, as beyond the drama that happened, I still enjoyed his videos on Arknights and thats how I started to play the game. However, his current point of view on Ak community was unnecessary and the fact that this just ends up painting us in a bad way is just wrong. I do not support this. In the same stream he does not bring any of the qualities of the Ak community at all, only the flaws. You mean to say that there werent great Ak viewers that wished you the best when you were playing, or that supported you for so long even through all the dramas that started to happen and they still decided to stick with you after switching to Genshin? Arent those people from the same Ak community you seem to throw mud at? Honestly, I do not care whether he comes to the game anymore or not. I wouldnt gatekeep or insult him either, as thats just stupid to do, but Im just not gonna feel hopeful that maybe one day he will come back, as I used to feel for over a year and a half, ever since he stopped making Ak videos. Im content with him doing whatever, but I do not want him to shit on a community that I am a part of and I personally love, because, even with its good and bads, I can communicate without having to feel like Im talking to 14 year olds that want you dead cause you didnt agree with their choice of character ships.
This is why I stopped watching him. Because he was immature and threw all of the AK community under the bus and has kept talking badly about the AK community, when he had so many people supporting him back then and donating money/subscribing. Generalizing in the way that he did, he just showed that he is ungrateful of what he has received and just went for a game that will get him even more money. That type of toxic personality isn't needed in any game's community, let alone Arknights'.
@@PersonaPrime its probably because some drama that turned against him and because of that he probably felt lazy to play ak anymore and starts potraying the community in a bad way, plus genshin is in their very rise and a more profiting game to cover so I guess he needed a reason for leave, it sucks to see him still bragging about it after he left for almost 2 years he even made ak community hate him even more in the midst of endfield development, like he was very passionate on the game he played and now his greed got into him, I mean when he's just chilling he's enjoyable to watch, but he just keeps making L takes and make low quality content for his own sake
Thank you Kukki, I also saw AK dark times and now It feel a tons better, content creators pog, mostly people everywhere i found are just good doktah. :)
What Tectone did to arknights was really bad. He hurted the community in a way that it still hurts nowadays. I really hope he stayed away from the game if he has still that much hate toward the game and us. But money talks. Our job as content creators is to ignore such baseless remarks and work on improving the content, the community and the experience
I don't care what Tectone thinks about Arknights, but what I do care about is people giving their personal experience and make it sound like that's a fact and represents the whole community. There's most likely a good number of people who won't even give the game a chance because he made it sound like the whole community is bad. That doesn't sit right with me, since the AK community has been very fun and welcoming after these 'content creators' jumped ship to Genshin. Shoutout to all the real content creators who are making a positive impact on the AK community today.
@@Zombina638 Here. Let me simplify it for you. He doesn't care if Tectone loves Arknights or not. He cares however, is the fact that Tectone is speaking from his own experience with the AK community like the 'bad part' represents the entire community.
have any of you ever seen CN AK weibo post? almost all the time their top commenters (plural) are the haters, but i will still said that CN is far superior in EN or JP just bcs of how many fan content it has, music, lore (GODDAMN they have such an intricate reference vids/article who are 100 times more detailed than any EN content creator ever could), and art. we just lack that here
Honorable mention, EN does have a good fan content although they aren't as good as the one in CN, they're awesome for example, Harlequin Wheels , (which I'm sure y'all already know) Another mention, KR also have good content. Someone goes by the name Namsek, created a fan game Called "Roguenights" . It's a modded Of a game , shattered pixel dungeon. It's a bit hard but if you're interested you could give it ago.
@@Obsolescent ah ofc harlequin deserves all the recognition and he started a yt channel too recently. gonna check out on that roguenight, also there's someone here in en that makes a website of ak themed small games called arknight hub, might want to check that. but still my view isn't just that the "og" server like cn for AK will always be better, i think it's more on the asian ppl thing. sure on the western part there's devian art ppl and artstation but they're still not as big in number of compassionate fanartist like the asian side do whther in music or else
@@hermanwillem7057 yeah I can agree to that These people are just on another level Just by seeing what these people do is already amazing. They put a lot of effort in doing so All I can say there will always be downside to everything but that doesn't mean they aren't any good one out there honestly just chatting with these people under this comment section is already quite fun , sharing infos and things that is on your mind is quite something. Or I haven't talk. To a person in a long time. Oh well Have a good day, Herman
Back when I played Genshin I followed a couple of creators. And oh boy, Tectone is just getting heated up and verbal way to fast and appearently had some conflict with another creator (Enviosity) which made him almost cry on a stream. And Envi was just the chillest dude I've seen. If Tectone says the community is bad, it's propably because his interactions with people aren't always "good" based on his own behavior. I'm sure he can be a nice dude, but he can also just lash out and be very insulting. So no wonder his expirience would be bad, because he himself is alienating the nice people and is left with those who will react to his agression with more agression.
Tectone got me into Arknights as well. However, I had to unsubscribe when he felt the need to slander AK a whole year after leaving. It tells a story of a man that wholly regrets his decision of leaving a game for a game that ended up being worse than the one he left. It’s very obvious he enjoyed AK, or he wouldn’t have spent hundreds of dollars on it. He’s just too far deep into genshin now to change back.
Tectone is kind of your ex-gf/bf that talk shit about you after break up. Imagine saying AK community is bad to earn "trust" and "support" from GI community which is the worst one xD
I started Arknights around under tides event, and I can say different servers have different types of community, I mostly asked help from other AK players in another game's discord server (they have an arknights channel and other games channel) and they were pretty helpful even though I asked dumb questions for a newbie lol. Now a few months later, I am semi strong and in midgame, I ask them for help sometimes in that server on which operator I should work on next or if I get certain recruit tags, which operator I should go for and they happily reply and help. The AK community in that other game's server is pretty welcoming and helpful to me who's still a new player and that made me stick to this game. I cannot say the same for other people though as I didn't experience the same as them or they were just unlucky they joined a server with an unwelcoming AK community, but all I can say is from both my experiences and other's experiences, the AK community is just like any other game community, it can have a good and bad side, it just depends on the servers you join and the types of players in them.
Every community has it's good and bad side, it's extremely normal. I extremely like the ak community because I rarely see any controversy. I see many people that are helpful, giving tips to others when they need it and that's my point of view in the community. A welcoming, helpful and kind community. I appreciate it lots and lots. Ak will have it's bad side, but what can we do? It's not easy to change someone's opinions.
Any community regardless of game , always have bad apples ….tho I wish tectone didn’t paint ak as a horrible community because ginshin has its own problems ….nothing is perfect …..I’m a veteran player of ak for global server and the people I play with aren’t toxic …..we rather help each other , talk about art ….but I agree with the video you made bro ….it’s like the saying “ never judge a book by its cover “
he definitely is not a bad person, but he has a habit of saying whatever he feels like it in a passionate tone without doing proper research, that's why he's collecting drama like pokemon, and the same reason he still has a such a skewed impression of the AK community that he can compare it to the genshin community I dont know about how AK community was before, but it definitely is a very nice community right now, one of the things i was surprised about is guide videos being encouraged when you have trouble so dokutahs can learn from them or just unstuck a stage to not get frustrated, like what???? i still remember any guides and walkthrough in general was so frowned upon when i was younger as for genshin community, not talking about the community the content creators have created but in general, it's in a way worse state, - a lot of players complain in a way as if they HAVE to play the game no matter what (basically crippling addiction) - how easy it is to create false information and have a big part of the community just jump on that bandwagon - every new character will have controversies, whether it's their design, or "not enough dps" - there's probably more issues but i cant be bothered add even more of this bs
Prob I'm just ignorant but as a day 1 player the only major dramas AK community had that I remember was with tectone, there was some feuds between CN and EN players (a few on 25thnight channel) as kukki mentioned "regional elitism" but that didn't really grow into a major drama and got solved very quickly That's on the en community though,I never followed the CN server dramas, the only one I knew was with Chen alter
You put all the thoughts I had about it and worded it very well Thank you. I do think that he may have also implied with his comment that there will always be this "divide of 6 months" between players which he dislikes (me too honestly). I try to not look at what CN events are except the trailers but it does feel like a weird... uh yea divide I guess. It might be my biggest complaint about AK even tho we get music and animations that are separate (which are quite epic now) and I'm enjoying playing the current events but IMO I'd still prefer not having a 6 months between-period but that might not be how most of the community feels + hard to change with Limited banners now. Probably why Endfield/Ex Astris(?) looks nice to me is that it seems that it will release globally and never have this issue.
I'm in AK twitter community for 2 years and i can say that it's not as bad as i expected. I also made some friend from there and they quite friendly with the other people and love to help a new player i rarely encounter toxic people and get involved in argument which is a good thing for most of the people including myself. This is my experience btw.
From my experience in the community it has been quite welcoming and fun, i myself try to continue spreading this vibe too. I have been seen some bad apples in our community though they are not as bad as others. It seems that Tectone still has some personal hate towards the ak community. It's somewhat understandable tho, some people just went too far back then. But his situation has served as an example in the community and i hope things like that don't happen again.
From my experience in being in a lot of gacha communites, Arknights seems to be the most chill if you wanna hang out and ask advice from fellow players and content creators. Though of course, there's no perfect community, and I've had my own experiences with the bad apples of this community That's just experiences though.
I will always say it, thanks to Tectone I discovered this wonderful game; and he made really interesting guides on non-meta operators. The problem with Tectone can be summarised in 3 things, he clickbaited and overhyped things way too much, he saw a better future in genshin (which I believe was the thing that made him quit arknights) AND the Tectone-Dreamy drama which made a lot of people (me included) to stop watching Tectone as he was a bit of a youtube elitist himself. Either way, I will always be grateful to Tectone and I hope that he makes Enfield videos because that game looks promising af.
I was playing Genshin Impact back when it started, but because of the multitasking reason you mentioned and I didn't have much time to do all the grinding, I ended up stopping playing it (while always telling myself I'll get back to playing it eventually)
I started Arknights a few months ago around the time of the Walk in the Dust banner. And I really haven't seen many of the issues Tectone has with the community. It isn't perfect, but it's objectively better than the Genshin community. The Genshin community is actual garbage. It isn't just based on stuff I've experienced, but just witnessing what this community does in general. Tectone's reasoning for why the Genshin community sucks is really stupid. It's not the "sjws" or whatever. The Genshin community has a serious issue of people who are so obsessed with the game that they are too far gone from reality. They make it their whole personality. So anything that doesn't go their way is a justification for them to harass people. They harass people for their opinions on characters, or become so obsessive over characters that only they are allowed to like them. There was also the whole 1 year anniversary drama. While the lack of rewards was disappointing, these people took it way too far, review bombing everything. Another issue is how much they harass the voice actors. A lot of voice actors became very popular from Genshin, but some are starting to fear interacting with the community because of how toxic it is. And while I agree with your point in general about gatekeeping, I do think there is a valid reason to not want Tectone back into the community. It's not because making bad guides or whatever. It's how his personality creates a toxic community. When you build your community on the idea of "sjws are evil and ruining our purity", you are gonna get a community full of very toxic people. I mean when you support Hero Hei, a known grifter who profits off of drama and encourages a community of harassment, often on situations that aren't even real drama, I feel at that point it's enough to say the person is too harmful to keep into the community. If Endfield does end up being a game I like, I wouldn't want him bringing those types of people into the community. I've been lucky that the Arknights community doesn't have an anti sjw part, at least not that I know of. I don't think his energy is enough to make up for how much toxicity he can bring into the community.
Now that you mention it I can only recall tectone saying disparaging comments about like....characters being shipped together who are both girls or being annoyed about folks wanting their male characters to have proper kits.(zhongli) I wouldn't be surprised if a decent amount of folks were put off by that bc it feels very exclusionary to lgbtq+ and female players on top of tectone claiming he understands f2p players but almost always making videos in an overwhelmingly p2w perspective. (Zhongli's entire thing was rough though honestly...) Barring the one random yt comment where a guy screamed about quitting ak bc there were too many male ops :x it's a bit fuzzy now bc of how long ago he made his videos but I remember being frustrated consistently by him yelling to nerf silverash, bc there's already precious few male characters with decent kits in ak, and generally speaking it's just kinda nice to have at least one or two op/very strong units of the character type you like? Esp bc the character gender ratio is overwhelmingly fem. I guess it might be a hard perspectives to appreciate if you are already catered to by the majority of characters. :c
My personal opinion with the topic is that, there isn't really a winner with any of these community, as long as someone is igniting the flame, it simply just goes on and on, and that goes for every existing community out there. Once an Iconic person inside the community stir or gets involved in a drama, it would be really difficult to bring things back to normal depending on what he/she did inside the community and it is really understandable especially when between both sides are clashing each other. It's also difficult to convince someone whos been attached to the opposing side, no matter who is right or wrong especially in times of these "Dramas", ppl tend to look over someone who they're attached more with despite if their actions is right or wrong, but in the end of the day, having a single Point of View or Perspective regarding an issue or a topic is simply a problem for both communities. My personal take is that when someone is influenced by another group/community and they're the type of person who just believe in rumors and stuffs or try to go along with the others instead of trying to trying to get the source out of the problem inside the Drama, they would just become simply another problem, hence the argument just go through a cycle with nobody making sense at all. Overall, There isn't really a horrible community, It's just that you have to find a great place at the same time to feel that you're welcomed inside, I haven't experienced what Genshin Community is like despite hearing stuffs about what Tectone says (negative side) but I wouldn't consider "ALL" of the players in each community is horrible. One should recognize that there are some good ppl out there in the community and doesn't deserve to be connected to these kind of ppl inside a Drama.
This would be one of those videos where I ask that you watch the full thing before you comment so that you get the full picture of the video. It's a hard topic, and I hope I approached it clearly and rightfully. I'm definitely nervous to talk about this problem, but I felt it was extremely necessary to speak up for the community.
Yup, you approach the topic right. Good job
I think you did really well with your presentation. Your topics were clear and everything you said was polite. Thank you for making content, I hope you continue to enjoy it, and good luck with your finals.

Its your choice to chose the part you want to stay in the community.

True
It is. The community is always hyped when new stuff comes out and new people coming in. It's awesome to see.
Thanks for the well wishes!
To be fair to Tectone, that might be because of his hatedom.
See, those fuckers don’t just hate him; they hate everyone who doesn’t hate him. And I know because I’ve tried advancing more moderate viewpoints to them.
And there are more than a few of them.
Question: Find x, given the above equation.
Answer: Surtr.

To be fair to tec, half the time, in the genshin community, the drama isn’t even his fault. I remember one time on tiktok, people were hating on him for using the word loli and were calling him problematic for that. Like people in the genshin community hate on him for the tiniest shit.
Really, really well said
Where is your 6 star colletor ?
The community is pretty chill to anyone who wants to join AK with giving advice and helping out newer players & Content creators, but that's from my own experience.
He is just stirring up the pot for more content or something
From Tectone's POV it is, because he sought out exactly those elitist jerks.
Ehhhhh, AKO Discord would tell you otherwise
Not... exactly. But glad that's been your experience so far.

I cant wait to put that kid in her halloween skin.)
I wanted more information so...
The joy (jk))
So...
Thanks for sharing the story. It must take quite a bit of time to write it out, but I read it fully and enjoyed hearing it!

It was pretty consistent too.)

If he still talks about ak even tho he don't play it at all just reharsing the same stuff over and over again.

That's what I've been saying, he will keep doing that to boost his channel
I enjoyed reading your anecdote, it’s very elaborated and definitely made me feel together with you. Hope you have been enjoying Arknights thus far!
I'll refrain from talking about Tectone now since it won't be able to end if I do, but I hope you'll keep enjoying your time in Arknights.
yeah like ffs, friend drama needs to just stay between dms.

I generally agree with your views, kukki, and certainly I'm very glad AK has so many great content creators like you and others. My only "worry" is that he thrives on the drama and is more than willing to do anything to create it, and that can have a negative impact on the community. Yeah exactly! I dont mind that the CN server is 6 months ahead, in fact, I like it that way. I'm also an FGO player, so I'm quite used to that.
I actually like the fact that the CN server is ahead. Or rather, just to know that there's someone that is ahead of me in the story, regardless of the server. Mainly because then I can use guides if I get stuck on a level, and God Kyo and Ecko hasn't uploaded a guide for that stage yet XD
I am thankful we are able to plan ahead n not be too taken by surprise xD
I enjoyed reading your comment! It’s an affirmation for approaching the video as intended
As a veteran player of arknights i would say we've come a long way with ups and downs this is just another obstacle that we can handle and forget

@@syaondri Both, both is good.

Referring to the clip,
I think by saying "CN is superior" it's probably mostly because it's the advanced server. They have more new mechanics and characters available and in which may or may not shift the meta, and so by that, gameplay changes.
In short: They know more.
You mean legal leaks?
If so, then if Endfield follows the same time of update as CN and other servers, then no one should really be worried of leaks
@@chitochihiro yeah
They do know more due to the firsthand experience, but on the other hand there are other content creator who share CN content so us Global players can get a gist of what's to come
But I guess some CN players do tend to argue on EN player's perspectives since what they're seeing are old-fashioned compared to the current meta on CN
but we can prepare advance at the upcoming events
I see that as a blessing as an EN player. I'm not a whale, sometimes just buy monthly card. Somewhat it's nice to see from CN what banner and operator will come to EN so I can save resources.
They know more, but we know what banners are to come in the next 6 months. We actually know more XD
(Just joking about the 6 month gap we have, not trying to be offensive or anything)
This is so wholesome man 👍
Well, Tbh, I'm sharing my experience with everyone here.
Laurent is a blessing not goona lie.
@@freakdeath1020 well I dunno what Ur trying to say, could you explain, Laurent indeed made some entertainment for us.
@@forgettinggamer5336 he is boosting AK youtube algorithm
Majority of AK community toxicity I see is solely because of Tectone

Same here, i really really do love the old tec
I personally still find him immature that he can't even move on from that dark past of his

That aside, i think that the Arknights community is welcoming to new players and can be friendly too. However, they can be too out of control and weird sometimes.

It personally stresses me out.
a yea, but i kinda understand that some ,if most, youtuber would go that way, because youtube kinda rewards that kind of behavior
Wait what? Cn players are fighting with global because they feel they're superior? Bruh, just because they're ahead doesn't mean anything
Anyways I'd really like to know what non-Arknights players think about this whole situation.
more drama = more money
the more you know
@Equinodium Lezarouxe Laurent is based guy,
He boosting AK YT Channel algorithm, what a chad move
I’m as curious as you are towards the non-Arknights players’ opinions!
Tectone drama in AK? what happened? I joined AK SocMeds in late November last year.
@Lushowski No we just need more male porn.
Yeah, now that I think about it,there really aren't that many female content creators in Ak.
It's an issue that is rooted in misogyny and I'm sure there are better people out there to explain it than me LMAO
An issue I find with Arknights in the same vein is sexualising minors and characters who are very obviously children is common and even if they are just "characters" it does normalise the real-world equivalent because the attraction is to the child-like features, behaviours and personalities...
Edit: there is also a lot of elitism in the Genshin community from what I hear with f2p and meta players talking mad shit about each other and each other's favs
Arknights has a more chill community tho from what I've seen but that's because there are more adults/older teens afaik
as a woman honestly the genshin community is way worse for misogyny like the arknights fandom is no saint and can be creepy at times but no community has more of a hate boner for both female characters and female fans more then the genshin fandom
I personally don't like tectone and decide to stop watching him was just because he said some bad words to Angelina because his own fault on activating the skill and let the red katana guy pass,I'm really into the lore or I am just being to sensitive😂
After all, players are all welcome to the game and I really hope more and more people can enjoy this great game.
(Sorry if my bad English confusing you, I'm still learning this language.)
That's a huge thank you from me of the Global Community and love how they think about the Global Community and wanting to interact with us!

Thanks for your comment and keep up with the streams too, Namipew!
AK global had been neutral for quite awhile now. Seeing Tectone starting up drama during CN 2.5 anniversary and now made me really uncomfortable.

I can se that self awareness is really important

What Tectone did to arknights was really bad. He hurted the community in a way that it still hurts nowadays.

Imagine saying AK community is bad to earn "trust" and "support" from GI community which is the worst one xD
so...
he's technically a Karen then?
Any community regardless of game , always have bad apples ….tho I wish tectone didn’t paint ak as a horrible community because ginshin has its own problems ….nothing is perfect …..I’m a veteran player of ak for global server and the people I play with aren’t toxic …..we rather help each other , talk about art ….but I agree with the video you made bro ….it’s like the saying “ never judge a book by its cover “
he definitely is not a bad person, but he has a habit of saying whatever he feels like it in a passionate tone without doing proper research, that's why he's collecting drama like pokemon, and the same reason he still has a such a skewed impression of the AK community that he can compare it to the genshin community
I dont know about how AK community was before, but it definitely is a very nice community right now, one of the things i was surprised about is guide videos being encouraged when you have trouble so dokutahs can learn from them or just unstuck a stage to not get frustrated, like what???? i still remember any guides and walkthrough in general was so frowned upon when i was younger
as for genshin community, not talking about the community the content creators have created but in general, it's in a way worse state,
- a lot of players complain in a way as if they HAVE to play the game no matter what (basically crippling addiction)
- how easy it is to create false information and have a big part of the community just jump on that bandwagon
- every new character will have controversies, whether it's their design, or "not enough dps"
- there's probably more issues but i cant be bothered add even more of this bs
Prob I'm just ignorant but as a day 1 player the only major dramas AK community had that I remember was with tectone, there was some feuds between CN and EN players (a few on 25thnight channel) as kukki mentioned "regional elitism" but that didn't really grow into a major drama and got solved very quickly
That's on the en community though,I never followed the CN server dramas, the only one I knew was with Chen alter
But his situation has served as an example in the community and i hope things like that don't happen again.
everything AK Aside, we hope you get through this school finals, keep on the grind
From my experience in being in a lot of gacha communites, Arknights seems to be the most chill if you wanna hang out and ask advice from fellow players and content creators. Though of course, there's no perfect community, and I've had my own experiences with the bad apples of this community
That's just experiences though.
Your cereal analogy is brilliant. Thanks for this, Kukki, and good luck with your exams!

(Zhongli's entire thing was rough though honestly...) Barring the one random yt comment where a guy screamed about quitting ak bc there were too many male ops :x
it's a bit fuzzy now bc of how long ago he made his videos but I remember being frustrated consistently by him yelling to nerf silverash, bc there's already precious few male characters with decent kits in ak, and generally speaking it's just kinda nice to have at least one or two op/very strong units of the character type you like?
