I was happy spending on GSSR but i never will to spend on no pity. While with FGO i also play other game like Azur Lane, Arknights, Princess Connect, and tried many new games, i start exploring any new gacha game and honestly exciting to see how a new gacha game making every innovations possible left and right. I may have whaled a bit for her on her initial banner, but all the other copies were spooks. The next ones in line would be Tamamo and Melt at NP3. Tamamo normally spooked me with the GSSR and rolling for Merlin. Melt NP3 came because she didnt want me to NP2 KP when I was trying to NP2 both KP and Melt. Melt just showed up 2 extra times.

Because almost every other gacha games out there look generous and reasonable to us lmao. We've already seen hell. So everything else are like a blessing from heaven for us. AK's gacha is one of the big gacha game that actually balance between luck and money to get what you want. FGO literally burned the player's money, their gacha rely on the luck/rng so bad. Genshin made luck the second option, with the guaranteed system/etc, spending is easier and preferable because you will get what you want as long as you spend those currencies (irl/in-game) AK has will reward luck especially in non-limited banners and reward spenders in the limited banners (because you can spark). Even if they don't reward luck in the non-limited banner players might be able to get it again on the standard rate up banner whereas the other two games forced the players to wait for the characters rate up again. AK's gacha is not "better" because they are more generous in the rate compared to the other games. It's how they balance between spending irl and rng luck, that is what I like. (Now where is my Irene, Hypergryph? 80 pulls and no Irene? Come on 😓) Edit 2: I GOT HER!!!!!

I think the reason AK feels "generous" or "F2P-friendly" is not because it gives you X free pulls or Y pity, because those numbers can always be inflated, but because it doesn't go out of its way to manufacture discontent. There is always something to do, some feature to enjoy, whether you're new, veteran, F2P, or whale. Out of sanity? You can play IS2 or the CC training maps, so you aren't too pressured to spend OP refreshing. Struggling with a stage? You can always try a different strategy, and be confident that it's possible with free units given by the game; there's no pressure to pay just so you can progress, and many events can't even be unga bunga'd through with meta units anyway, so there's even less incentive. Didn't get a character on their release banner? They'll get other rate-ups, enter the gold certificate shop, or spook you later. Didn't have time to play an event? It'll rerun or get archived. There's still some degree of FOMO, unavoidable in this industry (sigh), but AK actually seems to be trying to minimise it, and I have felt far less stifled/frustrated/anxious without spending compared to some other service-based games I've tried. Then, if you do want to pay some money into the game, you'll find a selection of packs that are genuinely good value and feel rewarding to purchase - like you're getting your money's worth in enjoyment/entertainment value - unlike some gachas that are so stingy with the packs you feel like you're just throwing your money away. Like you guys touched on in the video, it's rewarding to just spend a few dollars a month, and it's also rewarding to spend hundreds. There's still some majorly noticeable downsides, like the lack of character guarantee being very punishing for collectors who want to get All The Units, and some QOL drawbacks like obfuscated enemy/event mechanics, so it's not a perfect game, but I have found the overall experience to be satisfying and easy to scale based on how much time you want to commit to the game (so it can be played casually OR as a main game), and on top of that just being plain Fun and Pretty. Kukki, you always describe AK as a sandbox-y game, and it's honestly true; ask people what the "endgame" is in AK and it's usually "when you can already beat all the stages so you have to start thinking up ways to make the game harder". That's definitely one of its strengths, as being so open-ended allows for a smoother and more customisable experience, where it's equally fun/rewarding whether you don't spend a cent or whether you sink thousands of dollars into the game.
AK is really free, cuz i got 15 6* (2 limited) in 4 months without spending. In FGO, I only got two 5* (both off rate and one of them is pretty useless) in half a year of playing (also i got one from free selector)
FGO is all about luck. My first two year of playing it was hell with only 1 SSR per year lol (I started to play around a month after NA server was released). All got better from my third year when I got a bunch of SSR from random yolo single pulls as I stopped to believe in saving. And my luck is still good until now with exactly 30 SSR sitting in my disposal. 100% f2p btw lmao. Tho I almost stop being one if not because google refuse to take my money because of region reason.
2 different SSR NP5 servants (1 original + 4 duplicates summons x 2) in FGO were more costly for me than 201 operators in AK, with 38 - 6 stars operators. And I joined AK mid march this year... So the "AK is literally free" quote is soooo true.

As much as I love FGO AK is really generous on stuffs and it just encourage me to save orundums to obtain the 6star that I plan to get limited or not, and you can get the other 6star ops through recruitment and cert shop anyways so its very f2p friendly imo since even low rarity ones are pretty useful and carry your ass. I think if I'll have the money to whale on a gacha I'll choose AK than any other gachas as its pretty much a win-win when gachaing in AK imo.

To be honest, leviathan don't always think about the game quality that much. Now this only applies to some people and not all leviathans, some spend just for the sake of spending, while some spend while thinking about the game. (Saying this as someone who has spent more than 9k on genshin, so ik how some whales behave). But yeah, arknights is a really good game
What makes this roll amazing and me envious, is the lack of off banner pulls. I nearly had to spark Skadi Alter I was off by about 10 rolls before getting her and I ended up getting pot 5 Kal on that banner. I actually had to spark Chen Alter because the game kept giving me off banner spooks and a pot 2 Mizuki.
FACT: Ak is one of the few live service games that where the gap between F2P players and paying players isn't immediately noticeable as there's very little that is paywalled. Skins, even those with L2D, special VFX and new voicelines can be obtained just by playing a few missions for some OP, there's no battlepass to miss out anything from skins or furniture or icons etc. Duplicates aren't significant power spikes for 99% of players and cases so there's barely any pressure to get multiple copies of a unit. They literally give out the ultra-premium currency freely for every new stage you play along with a sprinkle here and there from login events and stuff. Few gachas feel as comfy as Ak's economy imho. Their generosity is why it's the only gacha I've spent in so far. It feels so worth it even if I only spent a little but even aside from the game, they constantly churn out banger music, got a solid anime so far, have a few mangas too. This is...the Golden Age. w(ﾟДﾟ)w
I will say somehing that not really related to the video but you know what make me very surprised with AK? Buying character in shop with certificates. And getting 6* in recruitment. I just play AK for almost a year and as someone with so-so to shit luck, honestly it's a big blessing for me. I'm buying so many meta in shop, SilverAsh, Thorns, Saria, Eyjafjalla to help me to clear stages. Top operator tag maybe something so rare, but it's still surprise me you can get *6 via basically free pull. I play other gacha game but honestly no other gacha as generous as this with their shop/'free pull'. There is no way you can just buy 'meta' unit that easy, you don't even need money! You just need to wait and saving the certificates.

And you can always just borrow if you need specific limited operator for example chalter. as a F2P player in AK, I def feel Arknights is way more generous to me than other gatcha games I've ever played, it's one of the reasons I've stuck around. Spending can be satisfying but I learned that the more you spend the shorter is your enjoyment of the game. The anticipation and excitement when slowly working towards a goal is like waiting for Christmas. I think it's just that the timeline is confusing, which is why many doctors think it is not real timeline skadi. Her onboard lines might actually be the final ending for Skadi (After the whole Seaborn is solved), and perhaps far2 in the future. She says "Waiting for doctor" "Far too long" This does not match any point of Skadi storyline as far as CN and EN had known, which made the point. Why is she waiting and how long exactly? Where is "here"? Definitely not at RhodesIsland since the Doctor had to go and meet her. It somehow reminds me of a scene from war stories, where the heroine waited for hero to return from wars, in the final scene where they are finally reunited (After the war is over).

I've been playing FGO for almost 5 years now. Haven't spent a single penny on the game because money isn't the roll currency, luck is. You could have enough for only one roll and you'd get the rate up and you could also have 1000 pulls.and not get a single SSR. AK is the first gacha game I've spent money on, and I don't regret it one bit.

I only spent on monthly subs on AK. Day 1 player, and my collection is roughly 95% complete. This is how AK differ from other gacha games, it's a game that the devs really appreciates player just playing their games. I hope this mindset stays true for long for HG.
FGO, Genshin, Arknights is the only gacha games that i played. i'm a spender too as well but still have my brain intact which means i'm still far from being leviathan. and ngl Arknights is (if not) the most generous and incredible gacha games out there and balance. what i mean by incredible is from whole aspects such as character design, character rarities like there are 6 star and 5 star and regardless the rarity even you still can beat difficult stages with 4 star only BUT it requires huge IQ, THE MUSIC!, the gacha and on top of that, the stories. ohh.. and the community. i love arknights fandom there are so creative and less toxic in fact i rarely or almost never see any toxicity from AK players. the one that i love was the 'Hyperseggsualization' that once went viral. i love how the entire community are gathered to defend the game.
Yea im with him in that fgo is horrible in rates....Ive played it 4 years and only spent about $120 whereas i played arlnights for about 9 months and already spent $300. It feels much better to spend here because you get more bang for your buck with the pity and on limited banner you can pick a guranteed choice of limited 6star

AK's gacha is one of the big gacha game that actually balance between luck and money to get what you want. FGO literally burned the player's money, their gacha rely on the luck/rng so bad. Genshin made luck the second option, with the guaranteed system/etc, spending is easier and preferable because you will get what you want as long as you spend those currencies (irl/in-game)
AK has will reward luck especially in non-limited banners and reward spenders in the limited banners (because you can spark). Even if they don't reward luck in the non-limited banner players might be able to get it again on the standard rate up banner whereas the other two games forced the players to wait for the characters rate up again.
AK's gacha is not "better" because they are more generous in the rate compared to the other games. It's how they balance between spending irl and rng luck, that is what I like.

I think the reason AK feels "generous" or "F2P-friendly" is not because it gives you X free pulls or Y pity, because those numbers can always be inflated, but because it doesn't go out of its way to manufacture discontent. There is always something to do, some feature to enjoy, whether you're new, veteran, F2P, or whale. Out of sanity? You can play IS2 or the CC training maps, so you aren't too pressured to spend OP refreshing. Struggling with a stage? You can always try a different strategy, and be confident that it's possible with free units given by the game; there's no pressure to pay just so you can progress, and many events can't even be unga bunga'd through with meta units anyway, so there's even less incentive. Didn't get a character on their release banner? They'll get other rate-ups, enter the gold certificate shop, or spook you later. Didn't have time to play an event? It'll rerun or get archived.
There's still some degree of FOMO, unavoidable in this industry (sigh), but AK actually seems to be trying to minimise it, and I have felt far less stifled/frustrated/anxious without spending compared to some other service-based games I've tried. Then, if you do want to pay some money into the game, you'll find a selection of packs that are genuinely good value and feel rewarding to purchase - like you're getting your money's worth in enjoyment/entertainment value - unlike some gachas that are so stingy with the packs you feel like you're just throwing your money away. Like you guys touched on in the video, it's rewarding to just spend a few dollars a month, and it's also rewarding to spend hundreds. There's still some majorly noticeable downsides, like the lack of character guarantee being very punishing for collectors who want to get All The Units, and some QOL drawbacks like obfuscated enemy/event mechanics, so it's not a perfect game, but I have found the overall experience to be satisfying and easy to scale based on how much time you want to commit to the game (so it can be played casually OR as a main game), and on top of that just being plain Fun and Pretty.
Kukki, you always describe AK as a sandbox-y game, and it's honestly true; ask people what the "endgame" is in AK and it's usually "when you can already beat all the stages so you have to start thinking up ways to make the game harder". That's definitely one of its strengths, as being so open-ended allows for a smoother and more customisable experience, where it's equally fun/rewarding whether you don't spend a cent or whether you sink thousands of dollars into the game.

AK is really free, cuz i got 15 6* (2 limited) in 4 months without spending.
In FGO, I only got two 5* (both off rate and one of them is pretty useless) in half a year of playing (also i got one from free selector)
FGO is all about luck. My first two year of playing it was hell with only 1 SSR per year lol (I started to play around a month after NA server was released). All got better from my third year when I got a bunch of SSR from random yolo single pulls as I stopped to believe in saving. And my luck is still good until now with exactly 30 SSR sitting in my disposal. 100% f2p btw lmao. Tho I almost stop being one if not because google refuse to take my money because of region reason.

2 different SSR NP5 servants (1 original + 4 duplicates summons x 2) in FGO were more costly for me than 201 operators in AK, with 38 - 6 stars operators. And I joined AK mid march this year... So the "AK is literally free" quote is soooo true.

As much as I love FGO AK is really generous on stuffs and it just encourage me to save orundums to obtain the 6star that I plan to get limited or not, and you can get the other 6star ops through recruitment and cert shop anyways so its very f2p friendly imo since even low rarity ones are pretty useful and carry your ass. I think if I'll have the money to whale on a gacha I'll choose AK than any other gachas as its pretty much a win-win when gachaing in AK imo.

To be honest, leviathan don't always think about the game quality that much. Now this only applies to some people and not all leviathans, some spend just for the sake of spending, while some spend while thinking about the game. (Saying this as someone who has spent more than 9k on genshin, so ik how some whales behave). But yeah, arknights is a really good game

What makes this roll amazing and me envious, is the lack of off banner pulls. I nearly had to spark Skadi Alter I was off by about 10 rolls before getting her and I ended up getting pot 5 Kal on that banner. I actually had to spark Chen Alter because the game kept giving me off banner spooks and a pot 2 Mizuki.

FACT: Ak is one of the few live service games that where the gap between F2P players and paying players isn't immediately noticeable as there's very little that is paywalled. Skins, even those with L2D, special VFX and new voicelines can be obtained just by playing a few missions for some OP, there's no battlepass to miss out anything from skins or furniture or icons etc. Duplicates aren't significant power spikes for 99% of players and cases so there's barely any pressure to get multiple copies of a unit. They literally give out the ultra-premium currency freely for every new stage you play along with a sprinkle here and there from login events and stuff.
Few gachas feel as comfy as Ak's economy imho. Their generosity is why it's the only gacha I've spent in so far. It feels so worth it even if I only spent a little but even aside from the game, they constantly churn out banger music, got a solid anime so far, have a few mangas too.

Buying character in shop with certificates. And getting 6* in recruitment.
I just play AK for almost a year and as someone with so-so to shit luck, honestly it's a big blessing for me. I'm buying so many meta in shop, SilverAsh, Thorns, Saria, Eyjafjalla to help me to clear stages. Top operator tag maybe something so rare, but it's still surprise me you can get *6 via basically free pull. I play other gacha game but honestly no other gacha as generous as this with their shop/'free pull'. There is no way you can just buy 'meta' unit that easy, you don't even need money! You just need to wait and saving the certificates.

I think noticeable *6 I get is Ifrit and Blaze (just recently getting her), and bunch other *6 too. Also I get my fave character Mostima (people shit on her but I really loves her character) from recruitment.
Also this also the reason I feel AK is really... Newbie friendly in a sense? Like maybe I miss so many limited but the operators in standard banner is meta enough, and actually you don't need limited to clear the game (albeit harder). And you can always just borrow if you need specific limited operator for example chalter.
Like I only play one year but I feel can the gap isn't that far with my friend who already play from year one. They have much more operators indeed, but my roster already strong enough to tackle the game.

as a F2P player in AK, I def feel Arknights is way more generous to me than other gatcha games I've ever played, it's one of the reasons I've stuck around. Yea you're right, I love collecting everyone, it's nice to enjoy the game while having everyone do countless strats! I'm not a die hard spender like this guy but I did spent a good amount of money for sure ($2.3k+ over the 3 years of playing)! I've been playing FGO for almost 5 years now. Haven't spent a single penny on the game because money isn't the roll currency, luck is. You could have enough for only one roll and you'd get the rate up and you could also have 1000 pulls.and not get a single SSR. AK is the first gacha game I've spent money on, and I don't regret it one bit.

This is how AK differ from other gacha games, it's a game that the devs really appreciates player just playing their games.

FGO, Genshin, Arknights is the only gacha games that i played. i'm a spender too as well but still have my brain intact which means i'm still far from being leviathan. and ngl Arknights is (if not) the most generous and incredible gacha games out there and balance. what i mean by incredible is from whole aspects such as character design, character rarities like there are 6 star and 5 star and regardless the rarity even you still can beat difficult stages with 4 star only BUT it requires huge IQ, THE MUSIC!, the gacha and on top of that, the stories. ohh.. and the community. i love arknights fandom there are so creative and less toxic in fact i rarely or almost never see any toxicity from AK players. the one that i love was the 'Hyperseggsualization' that once went viral. i love how the entire community are gathered to defend the game.
