it still has the rumble it just isn’t as deep. it’s a more raspy rumble. the reliability of it also is much more worth the sacrifice of the rumble would love to save 5k+ on a motor if i can swap to some elh. the rumble is beautiful and i was sad to see it go on my sti but wot on it with elh sounds so good

Nearly all of Japan's turbo subaru's came with equal length twin scroll manifold's, which are far more efficient than unequal single scroll setup's.
You USA plebs and most of the rest of the world got the UEL manifolds and single scroll turbo's for no reason other than because they were cheaper... they short changed you while also making you think the sound was unique, all to save money...sucked in

Power Gains! I’ve had both uel and el aftermarket headers and they make a crazy difference in torque and free revving. I hated the sound too but if you’re going for performance and drive ability they are the move!

Everyone that says this was a bad move is dumb as hell. Equal length headers are far superior to unequal length if what you are doing is going for power. Not everyone buys the cars for the rumble, some buy it for a power build. So stop whining that he "ruined it," because he didnt. Equal length is the best choice for any kind of performance build. Love the way the ETS ones look btw. Have fun with the rest of the build man

There is a clearance issue with the oil filter at the moment. You can see in the vid that it’s really close to the new header. I didn’t know the 07 wrx had an angle plate on the oil cooler 😑 Getting new gaskets for header and oil cooler then taking the angle plate off. Then no more clearance issues.

I have the Perrin oil cooler on my 2013 WRX and I bought the ETS headers and I’m wondering if the sandwich plate for the oil filter will cause clearance issues for the header

Since you do welding sometimes and are working with exhaust systems in this video, I just wanted to quickly point out the risk of Nasicortus Perforatum (otherwise known as 'Welder's Nose'). It is an olfactory condition whereby sparks from welding plants cause perforations in your septum (the soft tissue separating your nostrils). There is because I didn’t know the 07 wrx had an angle plate on the oil cooler. Getting new gaskets for cooler and header and there will be no clearance issues.

@@Mrhiddendeath I dislike the headlights and taillight design. The few redeeming features of the 06-07 are the flare over the rear quarter panel, and you could get a WRX limited that included leather seats and a brake caliper upgrade.

From what I’ve heard, equal length is beneficial for ringland life in cylinder 3 I believe. Due to the stock headers, one is longer which creates that “subie rumble” but at a sacrifice with back pressure. Am I mistaken by this? Please elaborate if I’m wrong or entirely.
Equal length headers are MUCH better. The Un-equal length header design means that one side of the motor has a longer distance for it's exhaust gasses to exit than the other side (thus more pressure and heat). Pressure and heat along with bad driving techniques and bad tuning can cause ringland failure. Equal length means that the exhaust has an equal distance to travel from every cylinder, making it much more efficient, smooth, and cooler. This help saves the ringlands. I do love Subi rumble, but i'm not gonna harm a car with crappy rice mods. Plus in Japan they ditched the Uel setup along time ago on the Ej207.

Equal length headers are the shit. They sound great, especially catless turbo backed, good move. The haters will hate on the ELH but they're just 15 year old eshay keyboard warriors who think Supras are going to save the world.
The unequal length are unreliable in the long run. Exhaust gases does not flow out properly and sure it gives the iconic subie rumble we all love but I’d rather go with reliability and power gains than keeping the oem unequal. Equal length is the way to go. These come oem in Japan subies just fyi. Read on the benefits of equal length headers if you’re curious

The pipe bends and collector are important. 4-1 is optimal headers for the EJ. They do have larger volume than the Killer B’s but I’ve been seeing great things about these
