    VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
    On October 13, 2021, prime minister Narendra Modi launched India's first National Infrastructure Masterplan, the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti (PMGS) scheme, aimed at breaking inter-ministerial silos and to integrate the planning of infrastructure projects. Will this policy help India Compete with China? Or Is this policy just a marketing scheme by the government ?

    We reached a point of time where we are having to rely on Geopolitical and Case study based channels for a more detailed analysis than the so called "actual" news. Kudos to Ganesh and team for a rational approach to the topic without trying to crisp it up, its hard to pass on thoughts that can bring such huge approval by people, keep up the hard work!

    Nevee went to Vietnam, but a colleague travelled there for business and was shocked by its transformation. It is a small country but they have done alot to attract business especially electronic manufacturing. They have developed a new city, Ho Chin Min just as a manufacturing base with all ministries nearby that can give relevant permission for smooth opening of not just bog factories but smaller ones that sub-contract. We have to beat Vietnam first then we can think of competing with China .

      @@cheval63sg it is getting business friendly now with single window clearance and less beurocracy and govt interference while opening a new business here. India had too much regulations, process even for small business openings. But PM has introduced a plan that basically forces various ministries to work together that used to work in silos and provide all the necessary clearance through a single window digitally. This avoids corruption, honesty in process and can be validated if govt agencies delay in providing permission. It's just sad that it took 75years for India to implement such things.

      The problem isn't the lack of good brains; it's that the good brains are leaving the country because of the circus/hellhole it has become. While national infrastructure is great and necessary, cities/towns really need to be revamped on the local level so that people actually want to live in them rather than leave to a different country (because people don't live along highways or inland waterways).

    I have a small trading business based in Assam, we all know how cheap and fast is the transportation via train, but it becomes challenging due to some corrupt officers seating in the logistic office of the railway stations taking money under the table in the name of booking fees. At one instance I was shocked when I saw a bilty that say the logistic charge was around Rs. 1000/- but I actually end up paying Rs. 3500/-.
    This is the ground level reality of the logistic via train, atleast for small traders like us. And we end up choosing transport our goods via road, which is neither cost efficient nor time efficient.

    • @stormtroopers7949
      @stormtroopers7949 ปีที่แล้ว

      True but if we deregulate and remove some unnecessary cogs in the system to be efficient, we can still be a republic and succeed. With China, the problem is that they're an authoritarian nation. They can remove your company at any time, have your billionaires abducted(jack ma and many others), bring down entire industry (English tuition industry and gaming) and drain entire rivers in one go for economic growth. I think a republic is good because it stops politicians to gain more powers than they already have. It doesn't take a lot for a politician to turn authoritarian so i believe despite all the faults that we have (and we have tons in our legal and regulatory system) it's a safer alternative than China

    I think among the other problems lack of farsightedness is also a problem.
    Example
    - if an expressway is being built it should at least be 6-8 lanes as the increasing traffic would require 6-8 lanes in just a few years and thus a hefty investment again.
    -Planning of roads should be smart and in coordination with the local conditions.. Highway near my home has closed all the crossings in a densely populated area and thus causes people to drive on wrong side.

    • @Saurabh.P
      @Saurabh.P ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All NHAI Expressways built in India are already 6-8 lane. Also every expressway acquiring additional land in advance so that future needs could be fulfilled.
      Ex: Delhi-Mumbai Expressway - 8 lane wide but has already acquired additional land for 6 lanes for future expansion needs.
      Nagpur-Mumbai - 6 lane wide and also acquired additional land for 4 lanes for future.
