Logistics costs in the country are as high as 14-15% of the GDP compared to developed nations such as Singapore and the US, which have managed to cap this cost at 7-8% of the GDP. Through the National Logistics Policy, India aims to bring down the cost to 8% of the GDP by 2030.

I am from Vasai, a town which is close to Mumbai. Few months back, few railway officers visited our factory and started asking various questions relating to transportation. Little did we know that GOI is planning a railway corridor over here. The transportation of goods to JNPT port will be done by train, thereby reducing cost and time. This is a wonderful move.

    • @MrTrickFM
      @MrTrickFM 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

@@pokedamn15 mostly it's the high inflation and its side effects that create problems, otherwise no huge refugee numbers (yet) and most likely no chance of Russian invasion in Romania.
But there are businesses which suffer because of their supply chains being interrupted by the war. Not all companies are affected, but overall economic growth is slowing down.
Romania was caught unprepared for redirecting most ships that used to come to Ukraine to come and leave their goods in Romanian ports. This video about India actually applies to Romanian infrastructure as well - not enough expressways and no high-speed railways make transport of goods too difficult and expensive to redirect all the cargo that was heading to Ukraine towards Romania. Now they are trying to build proper storage facilities in the ports, but it's already a missed opportunity because of the same problems that India currently faces according to the video.
The biggest problem, however, is with the sanctions the western countries impose on Russia. Now winter is coming and the Russians want to send less gas to Europe or sell it for very high prices. Officially Romania has enough gas reserves for this winter, but you never know...

      @lakshaybansal5337 2 ปีที่แล้ว +35

Yes finally they're doing something but the thing is implementation! Promise se kuch nahi chalta
Let’s start with roadways - the Bharatmala Project
Launched in 2015, the project was intended to create a massive network of highways across India. But the progress hasn’t been great. It was due to be completed by FY22. But now we’ve revised the deadline to FY28! A six-year delay. Right now, it’s only 23% ready and the costs have soared by nearly 100% when compared to the first estimate.
Then there are the waterways - the Sagarmala Project.
The idea was to modernize ports and develop the inland waterways. There were a total of 802 projects in the pipeline and they are set to be completed by 2035. However, only 181 projects are up and running as of today. Connectivity to ports has been another issue. We had 98 road-to-port connectivity projects in the pipeline. Only 13 have been completed so far.
Why are things moving so slowly you ask ? Well it seems the many ministries aren’t coordinating all too well.
Then there are the railways - the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).
Way back in 2006, India embarked on a project that would lay dedicated railway tracks for cargo along the length and breadth of the country. Goods would be transported at 70kmph instead of 25kmph. And freight capacity would double to 13,000 tonnes.
      But what’s happened?
Take the Eastern and Western lines of the DFC. The initial deadline for completion was 2017. But we’ve delayed it 5 times already. And now, the hope is that we can wrap it up by 2024. Delays lead to costs too and the estimate of ₹28,000 crores has soared to a whopping ₹1.24 lakh crores now.

No one is diving over political ideologies, but someone has to retaliate when the other ideology is trying to divide your own people into different sects, caste politics etc. I am a BJP voter because of there progressive reformative politics but also because of Hindutva , which is nothing but hinduism. People can blabber all day long that hindutva is radical extremism , but the reality is hindutva and hinduism are the same. The sooner people realize the better will be our law and order and stability in the country.

National Logistics Policy Will revolutionize Indian Economy. 🇮🇳
Logistics costs in the country are as high as 14-15% of the GDP compared to developed nations such as Singapore and the USA, which have managed to cap this cost at 7-8% of the GDP. Through the National Logistics Policy, India aims to bring down the cost to 8% of the GDP by 2030.
The NLP’s launch is a landmark move for the sector. The policy will help bring down the transportation, warehousing and inventory costs, which will consequently reduce the overall logistics cost down to around 8% of GDP in the next 5 years. Digitalization of the logistics sector and the creation of unified portals will play a crucial role in bringing the logistics sector together. While ULIP will serve as a single window e-logistics market, ELOG will comprehensively address the industry's issues

Don't give me nonsense reason like patriotism and emotions. Give me actual economic and strategic reasons why india becoming a province of China would not be better for indians than it is right now. Go ahead...
Imagine the wealth, the power, and the resources Akhanda China, expanding from Sea of Japan to Arabian sea with 2.8 billion people would have.. can you imagine??? Now imagine being a citizen of that superpower country.
An agreement to Anchulss india into Akhanda China would be the best thing for 1 billion indians atleast. Maybe the English speaking indian elites will lose their power but for the ordinary indians, it will be divine blessing to uplift their lives....

I was eagerly waiting for the video Anna
Just day before yesterday I saw video of Dhawan Sir explaining the National Logistics Policy in which sir explained how this policy will impact our nation and business environment overall which is very vital for UPSC perspective.
Iam expecting that you will explain it in a way how this policy will impact an individual enterprise, Logistics sector and manufacturing companies... Overall bringing down the cost of end product.
Presently there are a lot of bills and taxes in the logistics sector for movement of goods like E-way bills to move within states, Toll Tax, load based taxes etc... which differ from state to state and also it's a messy process to take 2 permits State and All India for trucks... Instead a single window system for all permissions and taxes for commercial vehicles can potentially reduce the entry barrier for companies to enter Logistics related business.
How about a single tax for all logistics related means of transport like Trucks, Freight Trains and Ships and Steamers?
Please voice your opinion in reply section
And lastly I believe this policy will be successful because
1)India is already digitalized heavily so integration of different systems (IDS) of various logistics sectors won't be a big task
2)Main motive of the policy is to combine all the different logistics sectors through a Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) and giving information regarding cargo on real time basis
Here there should be a single customer care type body to raise complaints in case of inefficient delivery of cargo and an independent body to take actions. This step will be revolutionary for the logistics sector of India. This will also have potential to solve the issue regarding time taken to deliver cargo by a great extent.
3)Ease of Logistics (ELOG) will ensure ease of logistics business by bringing transparency
4)There is a System Improvement Group (SIG) to monitor all logistics related projects regularly. This can be great for progress of our infrastructure projects as well
And implementation of this policy won't be that difficult I feel.
Please do share your thoughts in the reply section.

Coordination among state is very important for this policy to get implement on ground but looking at state like TN, Bengal, Kerala behaviour it seems quite challenging for centre to coordinate.

Great episode! I was trying to find what exactly it was when it got announced. None of news channels explained what it was in depth.
This can be revolutionary if executed correctly. UPI worked since it didn't cater to everyone. It catered to people who were connected to Internet. But, with NLP, you have to bring people who aren't connected to Internet and don't have phones and make them connect to Internet. That is a huge task! Also, languages is another thing. If a Hindi speaking truck driver wants to report something to Tamil Nadu support center, how will he do that without knowing Tamil or English? Same with vice versa.
Also, 100% network connectivity? How do we make sure truckers or even ships are connected to Internet at all times?

Contrary to your point! Anyone can use UPI without even having an internet connection. the phone number should be linked with the bank account.

UPI is now connected to mobile numbers.. so maybe this whole logistics plan could work with mobile numbers itself.. cracking the language problem though, is something that is incredibly hard to solve.. hope people have ideas to solve that..

Great video for the government support. First 1 truck can't deliver goods to distribution center since many waiting for to pick it up (it should be by rail)
    2) why focusing only on South India? What about noth or at least Pune /Mumbai / Delhi/ jk / ect
    3) no consideration of delay
    4) I think you need to revisit.. just my opinion

I hope this policy runs effectively....
But the hurdles which u said are absolutely correct since my uncle doesn't have a smart phone due to the Fear of loss by theft.

The fact that centre is so much into modernisation and digitaliszation of various sectors of development and plausible growth fields is very appreciative.
