Do it! I'm a few years behind you. Having an identical 23 plate CLA 45s. This CLE 53 really appeals to me as the natural progression. So, seeing you put the same attention to detail into a CLE as you did the CLA, would be great. But it all depends on whether we get a CLE 63 (or rather if it's the same engine as the C63). Keep up the good work!
After the let down of the C63, this CLE53 is such a good surprise! I wish I could afford it but AMG definitely nailed that one.
depending on what engine the 63 will get, im trading in my golf R+ some extra cash of course for one of these two. Always loved coupes, finally a bold agressive design with a good engine and retaining the classiness of mercedes.
Don't sell the Golf R !! I had a white one and really miss it. However do love the 2020 Silver 4 Dr V6 C43 I currently have. Only sold Golf for the V6 sound ! Merc 9 speed box not the best as will jerk sometimes pulling away. Economy have seen 37.8mpg this year. Amazing!
The 63 is getting the 4cyl hybrid from the C63

Definitely sell your golf for this beast. I'm hoping I'll be able to get one late 2024. Low key I'm hoping for this to be a future classic as it's first model in a whole new merc class.

Let’s hope it also ticks the price box. Having owned a c43 coupe and now a E300 coupe, I’m concerned the CLE53 is going to be C class quality for E Class AMG money. It should have frameless windows (no b pillar) like the E class and they should ditch those touch steering controls, as they simply don’t work.

I bought a 2019 E53 Coupe in June and its fabulous. I get so many compliments about the car and sound. Even had someone pull up alongside me this evening at the traffic ligjts to say how good it sounds.. Its got the performance exhaust. Not keen on the facelift one or that steering wheel so I'll be keeping mine for a few years. This CLE looks beautiful though so may consider a used one in future. Great Video.
I love the 2019 E53. That generation of E class was pure class and the AMG variants were all amazing. Great value for money now also. If not the E53 I’d consider a E63s or even one of the last C63s with the v8. Enjoy them while we can!

Yes the Haptic Touch on steering wheel is such a pain in the ass to use sometimes.

Thanks Jon, Fingers crossed I can get my hands on one. If the CLE63 has a V8 then that would be amazing but I agree and think they will use the 4 cylinder hybrid setup from the C63 sadly.

I am very angry that they stopped the CLS.
Now a day tech, they could have done more with this. At least 530hp and 560tq. Its nice to look at and has that muscle appeal.

Hey, thank you. Best advice I can give you is to find something you really enjoy and are passionate about then use the passion to work really hard every day. I grew up very poor and it took me many years with lots of ups and downs. There’s no real time frame since everyone’s path is different. You have to set a goal and work towards it every day.

Is there a difference in exhaust sound between the 2019 model and after 2019? I heard something about the emission regulations but wasn’t sure if that was just something relating to the pre facelift to facelift change?

Hey Tom, Happy to help. There is the preface lift models which are easily identified by the rear of the car (facelift has the quad circle pipes each size while pre has the standard curved rectangles) I have a video on the sound difference here: th-cam.com/video/sezKhK2ZFPA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tbAypxA5XIdKVnJI
The only other sound difference to take into account is there’s an optional extra called the AMG performance exhaust that was a factory option from new. This changes the sound drastically by adding all the nice pops and crackles. It’s easy to check if a car has this option. If there’s an exhaust button in the center console it has it, if not it was not speced from factory. Hope this all helps.

This car looks exactly like my 2021 C43 AMG.
Yes it has about 50 more horsepower than mine. But my car has PLENTY of power. 🚗💨💨💨
My wife says the same thing…she has a ‘22 C43 AMG. However, this new car will be easily 80k+ all day. 😥

My C43 is the BEST! I’ve also had a SL500 and an SLK350. The C43 has the best “drive” of them all! Great handling and power.

I’ve had a 53 AMG and e53. I thought it very good but you buy an AMG for other reasons imho. After it I got the AMG gt 4 door. It’s right this would benefit from an electric motor to bridge the turbo lag. But best AMG, I don’t agree. But as an entry into the performance side of merc it’s a good starter.
I hope the 63 version comes with the 4.0 v8.

Baffled for the praise on the interior. It’s absolutely covered in cheap gloss plastic with a giant screen and no mechanical climate controls. The E53 that this replaces is leagues better in quality and functionality.

I think this is Magno graphite grey which will be a satin finished factory paint. I hear you will also be able to choose a satin blue too which will look really nice.

This car has my interest back into AMG's but i wont buy one new with the forecast of depreciation, you only have to look at the C43 to see how they have dropped from 70k down to high 40's early 50's in a year or so....
The used market is finally going down but being so high for 2 years it pushed new prices sky high. I’m not sure what is going to happen next year. If the new prices remain high people will stop buying new cars, then supply will drop again and the used cars will go back up. Vicious circle!

How much is the CLE53 retailing for?
I’ve been told they’ll be about £90 Uk with all the main extras.
I think 80-90k is looking likely since the non AMG CLE top spec is around 70k I think from memory. Prices are so crazy now :(
@@ABAUTOAMG I priced a CLE 450 with all extras and it came in at £75k so I’d think £90k is about right full spec but we will see, problem now is so many are selling because interest rates are killing repayments and like Porsche the prices have collapsed and they are not selling.
Yep, it’s tricky to know what’s going to happen with the market. The inflated used costs made new prices higher but now the used prices are finally dropping back down due to the production times coming back up.

V6 engine is very good for travel but c63es is faster smooth vs any V6 or v8 for me c63es and this new cle53 both is top mid money good choice for Europe remember guys best tuned the make a lot fix the new c63es sedan is better agility stability flat lower platform and never spin c63es all many high AMG all them spin wheel thay why I like more c63es sec cle53 let see test drive I agree sound V6 ofc is always better that c63es but no matter when you live Europe you can easily fix smooth or high but no matter all secret is agility stability flat antispin system wheel like is haldex gen mother of all spin wheel system top is cupra formentor VZ use haldex gen sec is bmw 340i but new model and Mercedes c63es and Volvo all this cars I trust of quality road stability flat never spin wheel.

@rbmedd what's the big difference between the engine? Also a 23 c43 coupe is still crazy tech inside. So you may want to go much older gen
Exterior and engine are great, the interior not so much 🤔 The touch sensitive pads on the steering wheel don’t really work, they’re just too finicky and that stupid tablet centre console is a disaster ergonomically!
It’s fine to use a tft screen to display data, but to input it you need tactile dials and buttons that you can feel without taking your eyes off the road, you can memorise the positions of physical buttons/ dials etc, you have no chance with a touch screen unless you take your eyes off the road for too long!

I don’t understand how this is nearly 500 lbs heavier than an 8 cylinder engine c63. I mean I can understand some aspects but Mercedes really needs to cut the weight down charging the price they do. Fast ass cars and amazing engines but the weight just is a little let down
We know what engine it’s getting, it’s the same(ish) as the current 4 cylinder turbo-electric. Anyone considering the C63 post V8 era should just go full electric or go home. This 6 pot is a decent middle ground between the V8 and full electric

The V8 C63 prices have dropped back down now. Both the w204 and 205 C63s are crazy good value now compared to the new ones. It’s hard to pick a new AMG over a used V8. I’m considering getting one of the V8’s too while you still can.

So, Mercedes finally understood 6 inline is the way to go. It doesn’t look gorgeous at all, but that is a matter of taste. It looks unfinished to me.

Yep but not a traditional hybrid. It just has a small bit of electrical assistance to help reduce turbo lag.

I think so although there’s quite a few versions of it. Seems to produce slightly more power in the CLE.

Mercedes is splitting and differentiating their models according to class. If C43 or 63 gets a 6 cylinder then the CLE don’t get all the spot light which is intentionally needed. It’s good they draw the lines here..
@@keavy2163 That makes sense, The higher you go up the ladder the better the engine which hopefully includes having more cylinders, I can see the CLE 63 having a V6 or maybe even a V8

It’s the price hike in general. You can order a C63 now and it costs over £100k with a few options which is a massive increase from the price of the previous gen. So this increasing to £85-90k is likely.

The lights look very basic imo. Compared to bmws lazer 3d looking lights they look way more mean. This is still a cool car sucks its only a 4.1 sec 0-60

@@fisheye375 No, it’s not cool at all. The cheap tablet visually seems unstable, it gives me anxiety because I have the feeling it will fall from its place and its integration in the overall design is bad. Not only in the AMG models, but in all models.

Mercedes will never make a good car ever again. All their cars are average and unimpressive.
This car is overpriced, too small, looks like a CLA, and all Mercedes have very cheap plasticy interiors. Save your money. My wife had an E-class and it was the cheapest interior quality ever. This car is small than the E class, so effectively it's a rebadged C class coupe for even more money. Also, everyone's going to think it's a CLA and all that money you spent won't get you any extra recognition.
