This Craftsman LT2000 mower was missing an engine and had other issues that needed to be sorted out. In this video I piece it back together and make it a good mower again! It's hard to beat these Craftsman LT mowers!

Oh my gosh, I wouldn't have expected a bad ground, because that kind of issue is so rare, its like only 1 in a million. PRO-TIP: If you know you have a good charged battery, and you want to detect a poor ground easily, put a multi-meter on the starter motor, and when you see the voltage suddenly drop way down on the leads as soon as you turn the key, you know you got a bad ground. Its mainly a time saver then anything else is all, but good troubleshooting work none the less though! I'm glad you replaced that naughty carburetor, she runs smoother now. You got that thing running good Ellis, listen to that blade hum, oh she's purring like a kitten that one!

I have same trans on my Husqvarna and to disengage you pull the lever out by the back right wheel on the back plate. yours still has the instructions on it. It has a washer welded to the arm which locks it into the slot. The only problem mine has and I've seen other videos with same issue is that these transmissions have a tendency to make the mower creep forward when they are in neutral. If this one does it you need to adjust it from under the rear fender. I just wiggle the handle till it stops creeping. Check all the bolts as well, they vibrate loose and that makes them leak.

This transmission has one of the weirdest brake setups I've ever seen. Brakes work great when driving and they don't drag either. And there was no adjustment for the brake from what I could see.

Are these engines the last ones before they turned into plastic? Got a Stiga Villa Senetor from 1999 with a 12.5 hp briggs looks just like this 14.5 hp one. Mine runs like a charm!

The camshafts are more heavy duty on these engines than the newer ones that have the compression release break all the time.
