Excellent analysis. I’m a fan of the .40 S&W and built my collection up with G22 and G23 because they are so common and reliable and the internals are basically interchangeable.
I, too, have pared down my pistol calibers to the .40 and the 10mm, in particular the models 27 and 29! I have found greater differences between the 27 and 23 barrels as shot from a gen3 27, especially in the defensive ammo! I like the idea of the 27 with a 23 barrel, especially if it's a threaded barrel for suppressor use!
Just want to mention that the brass to face issue on a Glock 27 G27 Gen 2.5 with a Glock 23 G23 40-9 conversion barrel was resolved with following parts ordered and installed... (1) glsp28927 sp28927 Glock Trigger Housing (Gen 4) 40 S&W (only use the 28926 ejector) (1) Glock OEM Extractor Dep Plunger Spring SP00119/ SP33522 (1) SP01176 Glock Spring Loaded Bearing 9mm & .380 Auto for Non-LCI Extractors, Black (1) SP00098 Glock Extractor 9mm (90°) for Old Style Non-LCI Slides w/ 90° Ejection Port Also, made sure to use 9mm double stack magazines. So, yes, it works. Some have issues, some don't. And some find the right combination of parts to get it to work correctly. Good luck and happy shooting!"
@@erichandyauto thanks a lot! I wrote down the info. So my suspicions on the non-LCI plus a 90° ejection port fixing BTF issues were correct. Maybe that can fix it on Gen 3 and 4 too.
Great video man .. I have a g27 gen 3 and I’ve customized the heck out my gun I just recently bought a Glock 23 threaded barrel for 27 and I like the look of it . I got it from alpha wolf lone wolf price was about 180 but it’s cheaper than a lot of the other competitors. I can’t wait to see how she functions
Personally it's not worth the cost of the barrel for the performance. That's because I get expansion velocity out of the hornady critical defense ammo out of my P365. Idk about in this setup because I haven't had extra ammo to try test that ammo. The print depends how you carry. In the pocket (unloaded) it'll stick out more. With shorts it'll add more to the barrel and tiny extra weight. With casual clothes iwb it shouldn't be but a tiny difference because it's only adding to the barrel which is skinny but the rest remains very compact. Hope it helps.
Forgot to mention. If it's the only pistol you have and can't afford or compromise with a longer pistol but do need that faster velocity, then maybe it's worth the extra cost barrel although barrels are quite pricey nowadays. The other thing to take into consideration is the type of ammo, it's expansion velocity requirements, and if this configuration or the short barrel can achieve that expansion.
Would like to see if a Glock 24 barrel will work in a Glock 35. My Glock 35 is a generation 3 so I’m guessing the Glock 24 barrel will work if it’s Generation 3 🤷♂️
Interesting vid! Noticed you fed a round directly into your tube after doing the velocity test. Just know over time that can damage the extractor due to the extractor having to press and snap over the brass casing at the breach rather than the round being scooped up. Glocks are tough and it probably won't affect it, but it has been known to damage the pistol. Food for thought

Another fantastic video, great info thanks for making and sharing this
Got me wondering if you could run a glock 23 9mm conversion barrel in the 27
I wondered the same as I was making the video. It's the same lug

Can l put a extended g23 barrel in a g27 is that also fine?
That I don't know
Aside from increased velocity, doesn’t it cut down on recoil to some extent?
I didn't pay attention to the recoil back then. The little extra weight can help recoil just a little theoretically
Can a g22 slide function on a g27 frame?that would be interesting to observe.
G23 slide
@@bevo1120 I don't think they'd fit
been very interested in this good video
Glad to hear that. Would be awesome if you can share it 😎

nice to know. thanks
Are there lonewolf barrels for g27 gen5?
I can't find any, but it was just a quick Google search.
Yes they work for all generations g27
If you had a gen 4 23 you could just place that slide on the 27 frame

you read alot of our minds. do you feel like its worth the trouble for the increased performance? does it carry or print any differenty?

Do you know if a Gen 5 Glock 22 barrel will fit in a Gen 5 Glock 27?
That I don't know. Not sure if Glock changed lugs between models for the gen 5s

You answered my question..Thanks for posting it. I subbed to your channel..👍
Thx!
Much obliged. It's worth it in my opinion. I'll be upgrading soon. My stock Glock 27 barrel is almost15 years old and pretty worn >:0
Awesome appreciate you! 1000% subscribe

Can you do a video where you sing the song “chocolate rain”?
nice ears ...........try not to shoot them with your glock........LOL
nice brain. try to use it to come up with a more clever joke next time.
