Will be getting my G32 Monday, was issued a 31 for work 10years ago and fell in luv with the round. 357 sig. is a great barrier penetrator and issued to the US Secret Service, US Marshals, and US Air Marshals exclusively up till the option of 9mm in 2019. Currently have a 40 S&W conversion for the Glock and carry a P320 in 357 sig as an edc.
The U.S. secret service doesn’t issue the .357 Sig caliber any longer. The U.S. Marshals do not issue the .357 Sig Everybody at the Federal level currently or is planning on using the 9mm. Some state police and highway patrol departments primarily Virginia and some southern states still use the .357 Sig. I wish more agencies would use it in order to promote the round to make a come back.
As far as cost goes, I have a conversion barrel in 9mm that I practice with most of the time. Then put the 357 barrel back in and practice a bit more with it for the feel. It’s been working great like this for quit some time now. I love the boom and huge ball of fire that comes out. Great caliber.
The expansion cavity is related to energy. Energy of the bullet is what is responsible for the amount of damage. A moving bullet can only transfer two things into the target, energy and momentum. Energy is responsible for the damage, momentum is the "knockdown" power" , force basically. Bigger heavier bullets like the 45 acp even with its lower energy transfers momentum better than 9 mm , 40 sw, and 357 sig. Hence why 45 acp is always touted as having more knockdown power, but it has poor penetration because of its low energy.
I been dumping money into 10mm, and I love shooting it is a fun caliber. I been carrying a 45 out and about and 10mm in the woods. Thinking of swapping to the 357 sig as I can carry it for work, and everything I have seen, it is giving pretty close results as I am seeing with 10mm. With the benefits of having one gun to worry about carrying
I have a 19 and 23 Gen 5 MOS and a 32 Gen 4. The 32 is a superior weapon and it's tragic that Glock didn't bring it forward. Only problem is that's it's become a dead round like he said and they can be hard (and expensive) to find in stores.
I love the .357Sig. Your review is logical and helpful. I carry a .380, 9mm, 40 SW, 45 ACP, 10mm, and at times a .357Sig. It depends on what I'm doing and where I am. But for sure I enjoy the brisk, snappy, accuracy of the.357Sig on the range. I think it's going to get popular so stock up.
You're about like me. I own several different calibers of guns and sometimes I switch guns, sometimes I carry my Ruger Security 9 and sometimes my Glock 22 Gen 4 40 caliber and I have a Smith & Wesson 380 and a Ruger sr45 and a Ruger 1911 10 mm and I've been thinking about getting the Glock 32 357 Sig but since sniffy Joe Biden took office my finances have been pretty tight here lately.
I believe the 357 Sig caliber is a missed opportunity. Reviewed in the past, somewhere in the Tube, a heavy review of Caliber conversions and methods. If I recall correctly, the frame was a Glock 20, 10 mm, which again is the same mags. I have messed around with a 40 to 9 conversion on a G22. Range use only. It would take a few parts and dollars for me to consider as a form of effective personal protection. The 357 Sig is an effective round and is proven. Check the Church shooting in White Settlement TX along with Law Enforcement use. It has been definitely overlooked. I think at the time of introduction it was the Plastic Glock that competed against S&W 357 Magnums of standard issue. Why change? Cost. I would appreciate a little more discussion on the 22LR conversion reliability. I've been considering one of those but the cost. I can simply buy another pistol for plinking practice. MAD great video. I like the approach you take.
Thanks sir. 22lr conversion works as well as most other 22lr semi auto pistol do. If you freed it trash ammo it will have some failures. 1 out 10. Good ammo good to go.
I carry the glock 33 and I love it... I use a glock 31 magazine with the pinky extension... this allows me to carry 15 rounds... I use a 33 round 40 caliber glock magazine when I'm at the range with the glock 33 and it runs well...
Even better than .45! In my humble opinion! Part of its power comes from its velocity and not too deep penetration that dumps all of its energy into the target. I carry it in a variety of pistols.
Had the Glock 32 for 10 years now .It's a great round for self defense! I normally carry it in the colder months when ppl dress for colder weather for better penetration but I had it with me today and it was 75 degrees lol I really need a 40 barrel because I have alot of ammo that I got on clearance when Walmart quit selling pistol rounds .
A 357 Sig Glock 32 is my carry choice. I respect if someone's opinion is different .... But if you are only picking 9mm because it's cheaper.... You might want to reconsider. You're probably not going to need 1K rounds but you might need just 1.
The barrels are the same price. I bought a 357 barrel from Brownell‘s ( storm Lake ) for $129 for my G23. The 9mm conversion barrel was actually more expensive
One advantage of using the G23 frame is that you can get it in gen 5 with the MOS cut out. If you want to use a red dot sight it is much easier to do with the MOS. I have also found that using 357 mags is ever so slightly more reliable than shooting 357s from a mag marked 40. Really close inspection of the follower will reveal a tiny difference. Long live the 357 Sig!
Kentucky state police and a handful of other non federal departments still use the .357Sig. I think it will die like the 10mm did at one time, but then make a comeback like the 10mm did about 15 years later. Now the 10mm “want” has exploded in the market for woods protection and handgun hunting.
I own a Glock 32 4th Gen and love it. Bought it brand new before the pandemic. I also got the .40 cal KKM conversion barrel. Was buying .357 Sig Speer Lawman 125gr FMJ ammo for $16.99. The pandemic hit as well as the “damn panic” (Democrat POTUS) and now .357 Sig is $49.99 per box for the same Speer FMJ’s. Insane! Needless to say, I don’t shoot 357Sig any longer (or any other caliber for that matter) because I don’t want to deplete my reserves. Ammo is expensive and scarce now.
You're lucky you can swap out barrels. In my country, each firearm part has to be licensed, barrels included. It's retarded. Anyway, you can reload for the .357Sig and it's piss easy using Lee dies (Lee .40 carbide resizing die is essential here). Just get your neck tension right along with seating depth (some mild trial 'n error here). Develop a load and run it over the chrony. I thought it was a mission to load for, but it actually is VERY easy. (brass prep is always a smart idea - trim, clean flash hole and ream primer pocket. Then use the .40 sizing die to resize the case body). Oh and no lube required either.
Holy crap haha I just moved to a state that allows me to carry 357 sig for my job. Thinking about making the swap, the ammo price is the only thing stopping me. If I found 357 sig ammo for 17 bucks a box, I'd probably buy it, just to trade off at a gunshow.
Great video! I found a gen4 32 at my local gun store last week. Going tomorrow to pick it up! I love the .357 sig round and for all the reasons you mentioned for getting a 32 I agree. Keep up the good work!👍🏾👍🏾
Good round but it is tough on guns like the .40 S&W round. The Gen5 version of the G22 has a beefed up slide so why is there no Gen5 version of the G32?
Totally agree. Great video. I have a Gen 2 Glock 22 ( 40 s&w ), and I bought 9mm and (2) 357 sig barrels, one 4.x" and one 7.5". I also own 45 acp, and the 357 sig is more powerful than 9mm, 40, and 45 acp. Typical 9mm muzzle energy around 325-400 ft/lbs vs typical 357 sig at 525-600 ft/lbs. 40 and 45 generally between 400-500 ft/lbs I don't think the 357 sig is "dead" though. I usually get $.50/round and I know 9mm is about half that. I recently got that price for speer hollow points (1000 rd). Too bad the 357 came out after the 40 was adopted. To me the 357 sig is the near perfect round. Hope it makes a comeback. Thanks for the video.
@@madmarine1078I think 40 is a little smoother shooting than 9mm too. It's my 2nd favorite. 357 is a snappier recoil, but I'm fully used to it now such that it doesn't feel any different to me than the 40 or 9, until I swap the barrel back to them. I'm tending not to do that though. I want that additional muzzle energy, and it's significant. With the 7.5" barrel and the Liberty Self Defense hollow point, I'm pushing a near .223 projectile (50 grain vs 55) at maybe 2500 ft / sec. It's rated at 2400, but I figure I may be getting another 75 to 100 out of the longer barrel. That round is running at rifle velocity; more like 308 than 223, but still blistering fast. I shot a 1/2 gallon water jug with that two days ago, and it threw the jug ten feet and tore it to shreds. Any 357 or 9 40, or 45 hollow point will make a nice mess of a water jug, but the Liberty 357 sig round just obliterated and shredded it. It exploded.
@@jeffh2125 I test myself every 3 months on what I shoot best with. Right now 40s&w is what I am doing the best with. I have been able to find a few deals for ammo, so that's been good.
.357 Sig is the ultimate self-defense and police caliber. Why is it then a dead round? Simply because it replaces 9mm, .40 and .45. Gun makers are not interested in anything except profit.
You can get barrels from Bear Creek Arsonal for 357 SIG or 40 S&W for the compact Glock 32/23, they have threaded Stainless Steel $64.99 shipped to your front door! I completely agree with this information this is great option. if possible buy used if you live in Georgia visit Glock Inc in Smyrna GA have them service it for FREE for Life! plus you can pick up an CAA MCK chassis for this great set-up also.
I keep going back to this video because it’s so good. The .357Sig is fantastic. I plan on hunting Javalina with a Glock 31 next season with some Sig V-crowns. Even though the v-crown is a sucked round in other calibers, it does penetrate better in .357Sig than the Speer gold dots. Gold dots for defense, but v-crowns (or Remington) for hunting javalina sized game.
I carry a Glock 33 or my converted PC shield. I prefer the shield because it conceals better, but the good news is that both the shield and 33 I have 40 cal and 9mm barrels for so if need be I can convert those for those rounds and use my AR for 357 sig (video coming soon)I swear by that round, and I wish police stations hadn’t given them up so quickly. It’d be nice to have a 357 sig nato for cheaper ammo. My next gun will be the 32 gen 4, though I’d prefer they release a 357 sig barrel for the gen 5 Glock 23, then I’d go that route for the gen 5.
Great video.. I just purchased a G33 g4. Love this thing... and after a few reviews and finding out about the barrel swap. I want to do the same. So that I can run .40 sometimes. My question is, what brand and or type of barrel are the ones you are showing in this video. Are you using a factory stock barrel swap, or a conversion swap??.
The Glock 23 and 32 mags are not reliably interchangeable. I've had issues to feed in my G32 using G23 mags, not the other way around though. So if you're going to run a G32, buy G32 mags for it because the followers are definitely different. Hickock45 has echoed these sentiments as well. That out of the way, the G32 especially the Gen 4's (so far...waiting for the Gen 5's) are excellent pistols. Recoil isn't bad at all and I actually enjoy it tremendously. It shoots very flat and I know if I place it well, then it'll do it's job.
My .40 and .357 Sig followers are the same in my magazines. They are both Gen 4 mags and they function flawlessly in my G32 and G31. I have several.40 magazines and .357 magazines. Never an issue. The followers are exactly the same however the feed lips are a smidge longer in length on the .40 magazines.
@@mikerobinson8734 Correct. I've had issues feeding using my .40 mags in my G32, which may be spring tension related, but I doubt it. Rounds tend to catch the lip of the mag and not feed.
@thepatriotsrage661 It's a common problem with 357 sig in general. Due to the very short bottle neck design of the cartridge they tend to tilt forward when the slide contacts the rim. I would have those occasional jams with my glock 31 tried new mags would reappear.
I saw a video recently which showed the the 357 follower has a groove in it that the 40 doesn’t. Something about dealing with the bottle neck of the 357 cartilage. They will work but I would use a 40 mag with 357 rounds for CC
Dude I see you love your Glocks I'm a CZ man however the only Glock 32 you could find are police trade-ins I have never seen a brand new Glock 32 just sitting in my local gun store
I've seen them but I can't order them since my commie state won't allow anything over 10 rounds. The good thing is I can order the g23.. It's not a big deal since I would be replacing the factory barrel anyway.
Its a novelty. A secondary choice at best. I own a conversion barrel for the caliber just in case, but I don't expect a case to arise. Modern 9mm is perfectly fine for self defense in general, and 10mm is for everything else. Why would I want an in between caliber at a highly inflated price?
I really like the G22/G31 over the G23/G32, I just shoot the full-size much better and have trouble with the compacts when I’m wearing gloves. Running OEM extensions to make 16 round magazines, it’s still not difficult to carry and has twice the capacity of my HK45C. With good ammo selection, it’s not dramatically less lethal then .45 ACP. And boxes of LE surplus ammo for .40 are running around $30/50 in most places. Economical, size-efficient, good capacity, and a very very easy gun to shoot well. I’d be just as happy with a .357 Sig and Underwood ammo though, and I might still do that with the G22.
The Glock 23 and 32 barrels are interchangeable. And they cost the same price from Glock. Same is true for 22/31 and 27/33. I personally would like a g35 with a 357 Sig conversion barrel in it 😎

I’m trying to gather parts for a compact P320… I want 357 Sig. I found everything, grip frame, slide, recoil spring except for a 3.6” barrel. I don’t want a 3.9”. They’re available direct from Sig. Actually everything’s available directly from Sig but I found the same exact parts for cheaper. Except for the barrel length I want. Anyone who can help would definitely be appreciated. If I’m going to build something, i want it to be unique… there’s enough Sig Sauer Xcompact’s out there in 9mm. After I complete this, then I’ll do a regular slide and barrel length. AXG 357 Sig with a 3.9” barrel… That’s still a little bit unique, and a beautiful combination. But yeah, 10mm and 357 Sig are tops for dealing with high threat people. Both are capable of creating sympathetic organ damage from hydraulic shock from their velocity unlike a 9mm or 45ACP. I’ve always been a fan of both since I bought my USP 40 in 97. I wished I could’ve gotten a 357 Sig back then but the P229 was a little bit more than I could afford. Even $480 for USP 40 was expensive. But I saw it, wanted it and, well… had to have it. @@madmarine1078 I sure will . I’ll start putting up videos soon also.
Glad to hear. I am likening the options I have with it.
As far as cost goes, I have a conversion barrel in 9mm that I practice with most of the time. Then put the 357 barrel back in and practice a bit more with it for the feel. It’s been working great like this for quit some time now. I love the boom and huge ball of fire that comes out. Great caliber.
The have 15 round mag too I have a couple of them a a couple of 31 round magazines
Very underrated and overlooked. I have Sig P229 in .357. Hard hitting and very reliable due to bottleneck design of cartridge
Nice! I have a 229 SAS in .357 and 229 Legion in .357 and love to shoot them.
I have a 19 and 23 Gen 5 MOS and a 32 Gen 4. The 32 is a superior weapon and it's tragic that Glock didn't bring it forward. Only problem is that's it's become a dead round like he said and they can be hard (and expensive) to find in stores.
True. Always good to have options
i love and carry my Glock 32 everyday....i noticed you have the good tenifer finish on your slide , that's cool..
I really like it. 357sig rock and being able to jump into 3 other calibers nice
I love it. but its more the 9mm and harder to find.
I haven't had any issues.
Glock doesn't make a 33 round 40sw magazine! Not oem anyway
Even better than .45! In my humble opinion!
Part of its power comes from its velocity and not too deep penetration that dumps all of its energy into the target.
I carry it in a variety of pistols.
Had the Glock 32 for 10 years now .It's a great round for self defense! I normally carry it in the colder months when ppl dress for colder weather for better penetration but I had it with me today and it was 75 degrees lol I really need a 40 barrel because I have alot of ammo that I got on clearance when Walmart quit selling pistol rounds .
should have bought walmart out of ammo back in the day. O well.
Nice, prices change. I try and wait for sales when I buy barrels.

My favorite Round !
G19 and a G20 with a 21 upper is what I have that covers pretty much the important rounds.
All true, you have options with conversion barrels. Thanks for watching.
I've had mine for 2 yrs so I built up stock.. I wouldnt carry any other rd. 357 sig runs circles over 9 or most 40s ... the naysayers are only clowns
I went the G22 with KKM .357Sig barrel route.

It's about the same. But I feel like 357 sig is a little quieter
Good round but it is tough on guns like the .40 S&W round. The Gen5 version of the G22 has a beefed up slide so why is there no Gen5 version of the G32?
Thanks forn the info

Yes.
@@madmarine1078 thank you sir. Have a blessed night.
Does the Glock 31 mags work with the Glock 32 ?
Yes but they stick out the bottom a little further.
Will 357 sig amo be available 10 years from now?
Great question. Most likely yes but i have 3 other options.
40 and 45 generally between 400-500 ft/lbs
I don't think the 357 sig is "dead" though. I usually get $.50/round and I know 9mm is about half that. I recently got that price for speer hollow points (1000 rd). Too bad the 357 came out after the 40 was adopted. To me the 357 sig is the near perfect round. Hope it makes a comeback. Thanks for the video.
Crazy change. I now shoot better with 40s&w then I do with 9, 45 or 357sig. So I run 40 now. Let you know when it changes.
Yes you are absolutely correct
Yep. Right here in Smyrna, Ga
.357 Sig is the ultimate self-defense and police caliber.
Carried one for many years. As I am an old fart now I went back to 9mm. Another good feature is that it can be converted to .40 S&W or 9mm...
I love mine it’s just very hard to find ammo and very costly when you find it

Great video.. I just purchased a G33 g4. Love this thing... and after a few reviews and finding out about the barrel swap. I want to do the same. So that I can run .40 sometimes. My question is, what brand and or type of barrel are the ones you are showing in this video. Are you using a factory stock barrel swap, or a conversion swap??.
Conversion swap. Using Lone wolf, double diamond, KKM, Glock store barrels. You can get a factory glock 40sw barrel and it will work in your Glock.
Thank you for The info Video on the glock 32. Like having Multiple Calibers in 1 Gun !
Your welcome.
So if you run a .40 mag in the .357 does it jam? Fail to feed? Is it still reliable?
They are the same mag, just different marking on the out side.
But its better to use 357 mags for both calibers.
I have g23 with a .357 sig barrel and I run g23 mags with .357 sig ammo all day with no problems what so ever
I saw a video recently which showed the the 357 follower has a groove in it that the 40 doesn’t. Something about dealing with the bottle neck of the 357 cartilage. They will work but I would use a 40 mag with 357 rounds for CC
I went to the range and fired 300 rounds of 357 in 5 different 40 mags. The 300th round didn't feed, but everything was good until then.
Dude I see you love your Glocks I'm a CZ man however the only Glock 32 you could find are police trade-ins I have never seen a brand new Glock 32 just sitting in my local gun store
Nothing wrong with a leo trade in. Not many people looking for .357sig. You can find new ones online or get your local shop to order one.
I've seen them but I can't order them since my commie state won't allow anything over 10 rounds. The good thing is I can order the g23..
It's not a big deal since I would be replacing the factory barrel anyway.
Sounds great ,however I love the 9mm with green tips ..( aka ) zombie rounds .
I shoot .357 SIG with a conversion barrel from a G20SF. The felt recoil has been greatly reduced.

1st gen or gen 4 ?
@@omariscott980 All glocks in this video are Gen 3s

Good caliber… I didn’t think of the Glock, but with it being so interchangeable… ????
