Revolution Cut Tutorial | Plus Beginner Tips (Small Hands)

  • Been a little while since I posted. This is part of my small hands series, although I believe it truly does not matter hand size. But nonetheless I want to make this EASY and SMOOTH for those new to cardistry.
In this we are going to break it down into practice steps or what I call "chunks" to help your hands with their flexibility.
    0:00 Intro
    1:22 Chunk 1: the spin
    4:53 Chunk 2: bottom packet
    6:10 Chunk 3: Full Cut
    9:34 Trouble Shooting
The ability to perform the cut should come within in a day but, the smoothness takes time. Practice while you are doing something else, like watching tv and you will find that you can do it in no time.
The revolution cut is used as a flourish in many cardisty routines and leaves an instant impression on people when they see you do it. It looks like it takes a lot more dexterity than it does. Its more about balance and timing. Definitely one of the best little tricks you can throw into magic tricks.

Only the second video of yours that I've watched and, yet again, I'm am extremely thankful that you were able to explain the move, in detail, with the right angles, and have the empathy to think about the kinds of problems a beginner would likely have with learning the move. Thank you so much.

I struggled with this when I first tried the other day, your vid showed I was missing the lever action with the thumb for the bottom packet. Seems so obvious now I know but I still wouldn't without the detailed breakdown you give here. Thanks

I know this video is two years old now but just want to say thank you for making such a great tutorial! It took me a long time to learn the Charlie cut with my small hands so I am pleasantly surprised to find that I was able to do the revolution cut after watching your video a few times :)

Just thought about searching for a vid like this cause there's so little cardistry on yt nowadays, was pleasantly surprised! I have fairly small hands and am already able to do the revolution cut, but it was interesting seeing how I do it slightly differently.

This tutorial was so helpful. A lot of other revolution cut tutorials seem to require having bigger hands/long fingers so the edge of the bottom deck can be more vertical. The tip of using your thumb as a lever made me get it instantly.

Had a lot of trouble with my index catching when trying to bend it for the closing but after trying it with just the top half for a little while I think I'm starting to get it
Edit: There's a troubleshooting portion just for that, whoops

How do I make it so that when I finish the cut the cards are all aligned, (looks like a normal deck not to seperate decks)

    • @LearnYourMagic
      @LearnYourMagic  ปีที่แล้ว

Its hard to say without seeing your cut but, it could be 2 things. 1) it could be your balance is a little off causing the cards to shift forward or back and you should try tilting your hand forward or back as you cut the cards.2) Could be your finger place and you could experiment changing your starting position.
Most likely though its prolly just that you do the cut slowly. Try doing the cut fast and usually it will smooth itself out over a little time, then slow it down after you see smooth out. Doing the cut slow and smooth is much harder than fast.

Your video is so close to being good but in some of the chucks you just say "Your fingers just do this" and don't tell us what you mean. So now im able to do 60% of everything but I have 10% missing in each chuck lmfao. Also I feel like trying to do this with a whole pack of cards seems to be a big problem so anyone doing this should really just use half the cards and look at other videos then come back because his tips are REALLY REALLY GOOD for intermediate level but not Beginner
