I studied in guntur in 1957.There was no flyover at that time.I saw pictures in Laxmi picture palace.Then there was only 9 halls in guntur.I did not take meals as I was in my relatives house.Now I remember the same atmosphere and ambience and recollecting those days after seeing this video.
i was a regular customer for 15 years @ 1983 my favourite joint still i remeber purushotham anna, jani anna, jala anna, thambi anand and rajagopal, now past 25 years im in dubai. i miss all
I was visiting guntur in 1994&95. I used to take my dinner after coming from work. It was nice& delicious food.

I used to listen stories of this hotel from My grand father, father and his brothers but at last I visited it in 2018 and yes it is definetely it is good hotel and greater traditional and homely taste.
I eate in this hotel for almost three years.. while I was working in Guntur in GST dept. Really very delicious meals..I enjoyed eating here every time.. super meals.

1978 నా చిన్నప్పుడు మా నాన్న ఇక్కడికి టిఫిన్ చేయించేవారు. చాలా అద్భుతంగా ఉంటుంది. అవే ఫ్యాన్లు, అవే టేబుల్స్ ఏమి మారలేదు. నా చిన్ననాటి జ్ఞాపకాలు గుర్తొచ్చాయి. నేను ఎప్పుడు గుంటూరు వెళ్ళిన ఇక్కడే టిఫిన్ చేస్తాను.

During the years 1975, 1976, 1977., I am a student and I was residing at Brodiepet, Guntur. In those years, Anand Bhavan, Central Cafe are in one row along with Sankar Vilas. And the nearest other' hotel on the side to Arundelpet are Geetha Cafe and Navayuga. And one more famous hotel in 4th line Brodiepet is Mysore Cafe....
All these hotels were used to competing with each other. And in those it is boastworthy to say to visit these hotels....🙏

The Tiffin section closed. Only the Meals section opened after six months. Most visitors come to the restaurant as they do not use garlic and in view of the high reputation.
I used to take food during 1971..73, when I was working at Guntur. Purushottam and his uncle were managing. Food used to be very tasty. Sunday menu used to be even tasty. Gongura chatney, vullipaya sambar, rasam, kandi pachhadi, karivepaku pachhadi , potato curry were High lights. They used to be very cordial. I used to enjoy my native Tamil taste.(they are originally from Tamilnadu)

This human being in his normal human being living days, stayed at 1/11 brodipet road. This anand bhavan is/was very very famous for mysore bajjee and its coconut chutney (60-70% of evening sale). You can't get that taste, quantity and quality in other places. Very disciplined and dedicated owners and staff. All the best and god bless them all.
