Problems with WIRED HEADPHONE MICROPHONE (How to fix)

- In this Video we explain why the microphone of our Bluetooth Headphones does not work when we are using the wired connection (instead of Bluetooth).
The reason for this is that the microphone of the headphones is not supported when using the aux cable.
Check your aux cable and make sure that it does come with a microphone built-in (you should see a small plastic box someplace along the cable)
While many headphones come with a cable that has an integrated microphone, some do not have this. In that case you can get an aftermarket cable, which does come with the built-in mic.

0:47 I’m confused. You said the side that connects to the headphones needs to have 4 pins for the mic to work.. but both cables you showed us had 3 pins that you connected straight to the headphones? Is this because JBL headphones only takes 3 pin connectors? So that’s the reason why JBL’s built-in microphone doesn’t work right..?
Do all headphones work like this.. or is this just a JBL faulty design idea?

JBL sells one and when I bought it, they failed to deliver and they haven't even refunded my money yet.

JBL says with the AUX cable 3.5mm the built-in mic can work. I tried on my pc and my xbox remote, it doesn't work.. do you have any ideas?
What headphone model do you have? And how many metal contacts do you see on the plug of the aux cable, entering the headphones?

I haven’t seen a cable like that either. That’s why JBL statement is a little surprising (or simply wrong).
As long as your cable doesn’t have a microphone built in, there is physically no way for it to work.

Hi! My jbl live 300tws is not charging and it dont want to turn on if you open the charging case. Do you know what could be the problem?

Maybe they cannot charge and the batteries are too empty to turn on.

It does nothing
Assuming that the charging cord isn’t broken, I’d try to open the chrging case and check if the battery looks bloated.

I have a sound kitsch icans wired headphone with built in microphone but the microphone isn’t being detected by anything. And yes I’m using the cable with the microphone cos it’s the onky cable for this headset

This might be because your plastic thingie does not actually have a micro built in but is just a plastic thingy to use for music control (louder, quieter, pause etc)

Hey can you make a video on how to use Bluetooth headphones to game.
Because I can't hear anything when I use my bluetooth headphones for gaming but my mic works fine , if I change the input output setttings I can hear my teammates but I can't speak , my mic is not working..... I tried millions of fixes and tried every possible changes in control panel and in windows sound settings , I changed my audio driver and yet it didn't work. I hope you have a fix for it

I'm fighting this same issue right now with a new pair of BT headphones.
So far my understanding is that the microphone part and the headphone part can only work together at the same time, if you have set "Headset" as the playback device in the sound settings. But this means that the audio quality will be shit.
I'm looking into if there is a solution, but I've heard that this is a limitation of the bluetooth technology, and that not much can be done about it.
I'll let you know if I find out something interesting.

@@peteking01 Yup. When I use the wire cable, Audio only works, and mic doesn’t. But when I use Bluetooth, both audio and mic work, but it decreases the sound quality BY ALOT…
I guess… the only option to make both audio and mic work and keep the same quality.. is it to have it wired.. but with a cable that transmits both audio and mic signal. The cable that came with my headphones only transmits audio, which is why my mic didn’t work. Why do they make it so complicated?
