Yeah fair enough, but he was dull as dishwater, and still is.His solo career ever since he left the Pistols has amounted to precisely zero,he`s spent most of the last 45 years as a glorified session musician and playing in tribute acts and his records only sell about 5,000 copies. He`s nothing without Steve & Johnny.
@@mjh5437 He's nobody? If I remember correctly he formed the Rich Kids which lasted from 1977-1979 had scored a Top 40 hit in the UK with the singles "Rich Kids" and "Ghost of Princes in Towers", which the song "Anarchy of the UK" got to in the charts when it was released as a single in 1976, those songs from that album so his talent alone. Furthermore, he's the first Sex Pistol member to play with Iggy Pop on his Solider album released in 1980, and then toured extensively with him, he has toured with the The Faces filling in with Ronnie Lane and is touring with Blondie. His solo albums he has released are all really good, and received positive reviews directly showing his talent off. If his solo career hasn't reached the heights of Sex Pistols that doesn't matter, he has shown consistent commitment to artistry and creativity. And the songs wrote after Glen left the band, those being the following "Holiday in the Sun," "Bodies," and "Belsen Was a Gas", are literally all terrible and show what is missing without Glen bringing in his contribution, they lack the melodic craftsmanship, structural sophistication, and nuanced interplay between music and lyrics that Matlock brought to the band. Holidays In the Sun is literally a stolen chord progression from The Jam's "In the City", played an octave lower and you think he's nothing without them? Belsen In The Gas alone just sorely relies on shock value of the song, the chord progression is not even diatonic it's terrible, no melodic hooks or structure "Bodies" and "Holiday in the Sun" lean heavily on raw aggression and repetitive chord structures. Steve Jones is just all riff driven and rhythm heavy, no melodic counterpoints.
The songs in their primitive stage without the known arrangements. Jhonny's voice is very powerful. His version of Substitute is good, a classic that Ramones would also cover.
Beautiful racket, nothing like them before nor since......Compare this to an old Clash live recording and the difference in class and excitement is like night and day...There was only ever ONE Punk Rock band, there was The Sex Pistols, and then all the pretenders and copycats like the Communistic Bernie Rhodes Boy Band Clash (led by an Upper-Middle Class Private School drop-out slumming it )trailing way behind...The Damned and The Ruts were the ONLY bands to ever come close to the magnificent and legendary Sex Pistols..
It was remarkable, not nice but brilliant all the same. They came on late and when the feedback became too much and they played on it (it hurt) the plug was pulled and they were given advice, (we know you can play, get on with it). When I saw Johnny hawk back a mouth full I dodged the snot he spat and it hit the guy behind who wanted to fight me over it. When the plug was pulled again at closing time they hadn't finished because of the late start. I got caught between the band coming back up the stairs demanding their equipment after being thrown out and the people throwing the instruments down the stairs at them. Wouldn't have gone if I had known how heavy it would get, but glad I did. People think the punks only played up for the press but this was intensely real and totally ex-camera anarchy.
This is impressive musically but rottens vocals are not up loud enough, a little fact for the 80s kids toyah willcox was in the audience that night, a brummie herself.
@Lord_Hillcrest02 as I am a fan of both toyah and the sex pistols she said she see them there and discovered there are other people like herself who were dying their hair and looking different.
SOUNDS SO GOOD WITH GLEN!

Steves guitar playing blows me away everytime, I think he'd only been playing a matter of months.
More like a couple of years
He first started playing guitar in 1974 I believe. But still,he was a born natural ripper, and THAT sound he got he got out of it is still sublime!!
Bass is very good.
~ though the vocals are better
Love the sound of this. Raw and loud‼️😎🔥🎸
many thanks for the concert and video from Italy... ciao...
This recording shows the genius of Matlock
Sid Vicious was better
@@WarthDader74 sid was all image..matlock could actually play the bass
@@thebillgrundyshow Sid was a good bass player, he learned how to play all of the Sex Pistols songs in very short time.
LMAO
He could play all the Ramones songs. A fucking 2 year old could play the Rmaones on bass.
Brilliant upload thank you
Cookie is a beast.
las lineas de bajo de matlock 🔟
Qué bien que sonaban con Glen. Se fue todo al car4j0 con Sid.
Take’s me back a long, long way!!
I’m nearly 60 now.
The Pistols still make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
Thanks for posting this mate! 🙏

cant hear his vocals
Killer set!😁
2 days later The Damned would release the very first UK Punk single "New Rose"
I wanna be me!
Clearly they were on that nite - it's like meth.
