- As part of a recent, week-long visit to Suffolk Constabulary, PolicingTV’s Bernard Rix met two members of Suffolk Constabulary’s Bury St Edmunds based Response team, PC Kizzy Waite and PC Katie Roberts.
They tell us about their work as well as what attracted them to a career in policing.
We also have an opportunity to take a look at their kit - radio, body worn video camera, PAVA spray, torch, handcuffs and baton - plus at the contents of, and the routine associated with, their police response car. "I've been a police officer for a year and a half, I've nearly come to the end of my probation. During your probation, you have a target that you have to meet: I'm probably at about 90% now, so I've got a little bit more to go".
"On response, I have a workload that I have to deal with, I'll go out to jobs from domestics to traffic incidents, it's very varied, no day is the same!" "I've been in the police for five and a half years, so that's a little bit longer. I've [worked on] response but I've also done a couple of other roles in my time. Like my colleague said, we deal with a variety of incidents, mainly doing initial response to all sorts of things: domestics, road traffic collisions, burglaries, mental health jobs, welfare checks...".

Going to the dentist is more fun than watching this
Auditing Britain had some fun in Bury St Edmunds.
Katie , why no shoulder numbers ?
Funny how they don't wear the blue line "gang" badge in the official type videos.
Did they used to be in Bewitched ?
Surprised they never went hands on, and locked this guy up for recording them!
I thought this was going to be an auditor........ha ha ha...........Thanks.........Happy New Year.............
Me 2 :-)
Well staged 😂😂😂😂
It's weird to see police not loosing their minds over a camera, displaying inferiority complexes, not identifying, descending into childishness, walking into peoples' personal space or lying.
Surprise no gang badge in sight
No comment. 🇬🇧
these gals both seem femme fatale niko style❣
Using your radio whilst driving is illegal? I don't think that is correct, there are exemptions.
Unless it's for emergency reasons, you shouldn't. Read up on the exemptions, and NPCC guidance on radio usage.
I’d rather watch an Auditor’s Version no Suggar coding. Straight to the point, acountability of the Blue line gang of thugs😅
Just a PR exercise because the police are at an all time low. Like watching paint dry !
Like watching their makeup dry lol...
They look very competent 😂
🤣🤣🇬🇧👍
Hahaha...as long as they don't attend any real crime...
As long as they don't take on an auditor ,and their egos come out 😅
After looking at a lot of auditing video's abt the police, it really strikes me how little the police in the UK actually knows about the laws. Very poor knowledge. I hpe these ladies doe beter than thei tyrannical collegeas in those videos. Like actually informing the public that their body worn camera is turned on!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Instead of standing there do your job
Is this a piss take ¿?? I'm serious ??
Such boring people, have you got nothing better to do?
Whats this bullshit
Soon they'll be qualified to wrongfully arrest people doing lawful activities like photography in a public place while at the same avoiding anything that might be a bit challenging for them. Tone down the makeup girls...I thought your face was going to crack...
