    the real issue with the reunion is that the contestants havent watched the show back and they dont even realize all the smack ppl have been talking abt them in confessionals. or times ppl lied to their face.

      It was always a fun moment from the old reunion show when you would see contestants being confronted with fan feedback and having to justify certain things. With the modern format you really don't get that.

    My biggest problem is the double tribal post-merge. Everyone plays safe until the double tribal is over because players are scared of burning their bridges and ending up in a new group of enemies. The past 3 merge / mergatory tribals have been a dogpile on Moriah, Kaleb and Josh because now the casts know this twist is a staple as opposed to Island of the idols / 41 / 42 when they didn't know it was going to be in their season.

  • @MrCarl760
    @MrCarl760 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    One thing that was missed that I believe is a MAJOR issue:
    Bhanu was never voted out. The third tribal council vote was completely skipped. You could argue that it was a foregone conclusion Bhanu was going and so it doesn’t matter however this is a MAJOR red flag and a horrible precedent to set. What this did is strip all agency from the remaining players of Tiff, Kenzie, and Q. We saw Tiff & Q toss around the idea of blindsiding Kenzie an episode prior, what if they actually were to want to do it and to accomplish that would have to act as if Bhanu is dead in the water. With Jeff/production skipping the vote, this removes the decision making from the players and could cause issues down the line.
    For instance: lets say there’s a similar situation in an upcoming season. A losing tribe has a seemingly obvious vote out where everyone seems to agree including the said person going home, so of course they would expect a Bhanu situation where the vote is skipped. However what if those in the majority decide they actually DO want to carry out a blindside of a different target? The player who is the alleged obvious boot and the player who is the actual target would go in potentially expecting the vote being skipped because “it’s so obvious it’s this person” but then, the vote isn’t skipped at all. Would that not tip them off that there’s more to the story that they could be left in the dark about? What if one of these players has an idol? What if the tribe does want to forgo the vote but the obvious boot, the “Bhanu” in this scenario, is holding an idol, would that then tip off the rest of the tribe that there’s more factors in play that they aren’t aware of, and thus in reaction to the vote not being skipped could that affect their gameplay? Maybe they’d switch the target then.
    There’s so many different scenarios that production has now left the door open to, I think them deciding to skip the vote was a horrible decision that provided nothing but the potential for more issues down the line and shows an overall lack of care towards the game so many of us love.
    This is of course not referring to the exceptions where a player was removed from the game for inappropriate behavior (V*rner/Brandon Hantz/D*n Sp*lo)

    • @XanderMatthews-nv9zf
      @XanderMatthews-nv9zf 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It’s definitely a slippery slope kinda deal, Jeff claimed the reason was due to there legitimately not being any other plans
      If they don’t skip the vote in the future, any player that saw that exit press is going to be aware that an alternate plan is at least being considered
      It wasn’t aired this season but apparently during Hunter’s elimination, he called out the fact that if they were all gonna vote out Q then they shouldn’t need to vote(more akin to Tori’s elimination but the point still stands), Venus and Tiffany were insistent on voting tipping Hunter off further that he was the target
      Of course he didn’t play his idol but he had planned for a different split then the one implemented, but it still is gonna be a major red flag raiser in the future

    • @BanditSurvivorContent
      @BanditSurvivorContent  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I'll chat about this soon but I agree. I think it's a real slippery slope if Jeff can just decide when a tribal is boring and auto-eliminate contestants on the show.

    My biggest hot take about firemaking is that I don’t want a final 3 with a regular final 4 vote
    Bring back final 2’s, it puts alliances substantially more at risk by not allowing big groups of 4 to coast to the end of the game.
    One thing I do notice about final 2’s is that it lends itself to helping more physically oriented players who have more say in there final opponent

    • @bencalebrod
      @bencalebrod 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed, for those complaining about all these bad jury vote results a Final 2 is the best "fix" to that, as it makes the strategic and physical components more important in the endgame, as you only need to get to the end with 1 person you can "beat" socially rather than 2.

    • @BanditSurvivorContent
      @BanditSurvivorContent  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think Sophie's idea of making idols usable up until the final 6 is a good idea. But it would also be advantageous having a final 2 also. Right now someone can idol at 5 and win fire at 4 then get to 3 and win the game.

      @@BanditSurvivorContent yes I really dislike how you can just advantage your way to the firemaking challenge, the whole point of idols expiring at 5 was that you’d still have 1 round, the final 4 where you need to rely on yourself winning immunity or getting the votes to stay

    I hate the rice twist because you’re asking almost half the cast to sit out of a challenge and all the possibilities of who could win immunity go out the window. I miss when they’d temp them midway through the immunity challenge with food, but make a rule that they could only continue to eat until the challenge was over. That way you tempt the people who haven’t been on rewards, but you also don’t make a large number of people sit out right at the top of the challenge.

    • @BanditSurvivorContent
      @BanditSurvivorContent  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I don’t advocate survivor discriminating against people with disabilities. But I feel like casting Liz and Ben was a mistake. Hunger and sleep deprivation is a factor for everyone. Jess has said she suffered in the game due to this. But there’s also other things like age, obesity. All in all, I don’t think he can be considered a serious problem with season 46 if only due to the fact that he’s not in like 8 episodes, and I didn’t have a problem with him for half the episodes he was in

  • @hewiebecker6165
    @hewiebecker6165 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    This seems to be a superficial point, but then you consider that a lot of Kenzie's hardcore twitter stans heaped praise on her for multiple island fashion improvisations (a pal frond scruchie and a buff bow being the most memorable) it's kinda sad that the stylist on the cast couldn't rest a day or two and get dolled up like her equally gorgeous cast mates. Functionally and legally so little changes between the old and new seasons so if a player could hold their vote secret for months, why not expect them to do so for a day or two?
    Also concerning Charlie and a months later live reunion. It seems like he was newly jarred by the edit in his exit press, although not explicitly stated. I'm sure he would have had some self control at a later reunion, whatever we got is maybe more authentic to production, but I agree it was awkward and painful.

    Modern survivor has become a parody of itself. Take away actual social situations like bigger tribes, merge vote, and final 4 and replace it with production designed things to force the game in certain directions - journeys, sweat v savvy, twists, earn the merge, fire making, etc. go back to basics. 2 tribes, swap or two, merge at 10, no fire making. Let the players play

  • @XanderMatthews-nv9zf

    30 minute video let’s gooo!
    The twists have gotten EXTREMELY stale, the double tribal is EXPECTED at this point, it has appeared in every new era season and players play it safe until it’s out the way
    Mergatory sucks, the merge boot literally has to win a team challenge which dramatically lower the chances of the obvious vote saving themselves, just let the cast actually merge when you say merge, if you want the true individual game to begin at final 10 then merge at final 10
    The pre-merge forced vote risking journeys are annoying, when people can’t vote tribal gets a lot less interesting: Q wants to keep Bhanu in the game but since Nami chose Bhanu for the journey there is nothing they can do since Bhanu was forced to lose his vote for an advantage he didn’t even want

      This season it was more of a byproduct of the repeated format. They knew it was the last chance to definitely get Maria. The format needs to be changed up from time to time to prevent metagaming, whether it’s by having a final two or removing the forced firemaking all together for a few seasons. Survivor was at its peak when the format kept changing so contestants didn’t know what to plan for.
