Maria’s reasons for voting Kenzie sounds more like Maria is trying to convince herself that she made the right decision rather than convincing others she did
I watched so many Maria interviews and none of them convinced me.
I think that she didn't vote for Charlie bc she viewed Charlie as having played a lesser version of her own game. It's the only explanation I can think of that makes some sense
Basically what I got out of this video is that Maria was trying to control everything and basically used every excuse in the book of dumb excuses as to why she was in the right not just for her screwing over Charlie but also her interrogation of Ben as well.

Maria managed to hurt all the nicest people's feelings and painted them as liars when they were all telling the truth, and STILL won't admit she was wrong. It's like the anti-social game.
Honestly, I think having a season like this where everyone kinda sucks at the game and hates each other was a nice breath of fresh air. I was initially so worried about this cast cause everyone had main character syndrome but it ended up playing out way better than I expected it to

It's crazy that Tim's emotional moment was cut out to make room for bhanu's crying.
I wish they edited Maria as a villain it would have added to the season I think. But this season was by far the best of the new era I love that there's post season beef and actual conflict more of that please!
It wasn't necessary. Couldn't stand her from the start.
I was really impressed by Maria's challenge prowess and her gameplay and wasn't critical of some of her later decisions as people can do random stuff in the heat of the moment and being short on food/sleep... until I found out that she didn't vote for Charlie.
In an older season, Maria and Q would’ve been depicted as the villains of the season (moreover Q)

The real reason Maria voted Kenzie is she played an imaginary game of rock paper scissors in her head and Kenzie won. Makes about as much sense as her logic in the interviews.
I like Maria even less now, wasn't sure that was possible. 🤔

It amazes me how “nothing came of it” is still the thought process after 3 Siga members went home with only Moriah being aware she was going out/not blindsided
I think she believed her own hype too much so when she got out, she was writhing mad and Kenzie played it smart by kissing her up and down

Ahh, a touch of logistics. Does Applebees just randomly ask all the branches for volunteers? I would guess they have a few travel chefs that get low performing places in order; but I like to imagine they just called the fry cook in Gary Indiana, and said "pack your bags, your going to Fiji"

50 is so big I think it should be its own thing, but I really want a second chance 2 soon and Charlie definitely deserves a shot. Throw in Venus and Q if it’s new era only / want some drama

Dude I remember there was nothing in tv at like 11 pm so me and my friends were just scrolling channels and we came across deal or no deal island and i screamed very loudly after seeing boston rob. we were on a school trip and a guy was coming around doing room checks when he heard me. Scared the crap out of me, my friends, and the guy.
I didn't like Maria from the getgo and after how thinks shook out, I feel justified
#29 made me look up the survivor rules once again, and it says that castaways aren’t allowed to physically help each other. It also brought me back to when Sophie asked Albert to help her defeat Ozzy in a challenge and Jeff immediately said no

Even after a month, my conclusion is Maria is a narcissistic villain. She couldn’t cope with someone outplaying her. Don’t get me wrong, I’m ok with Kenzie winning - but Charlie had the better game. Maria is just a bitter old lady.

Something kinda funny I noticed is that the new Era tribe colors are starting to play out similarly. We have a disaster tribe whittled down to three widely different and entertaining personalities who are referred to throughout the season as the __ three who also wear purple. That’s clearly the Yanu three from survivor 46 right? Yes but that’s also the Tika 3 from survivor 44. Also the winner of those seasons both came from the purple tribe. You might be thinking that’s just a coincidence but think again. Two great strategists who form a strong alliance early on in their tribe where a lot of the seasons story 3:02 focuses on them and they pull of most of the moves in the season who eventually agree that they can target each other who wear green. I’m clearly describing Charlie and Maria from season 46. But the same applies to Shan and Ricard from survivor 41 too! It’s all starting to make sense
Change the location! Survivor Australia in Samoa is a way better location than Fiji. Tired of Fiji
I might be one of the few people who disagrees with number 13 - guess I'm not normal, lol. Not because I particularly liked Bhanu - I'd probably hate to live with him - but I found him more engaging than the average Survivor player cast these days. He had a unique storyline and I found his interactions with the other castaways entertaining. It sort of felt like I was watching a pre-S33 season, which in my mind is always a positive. And I have to agree with Jeff - casting more Bhanus will lead to more interesting seasons where savvy players are forced to work with or around them, as well as more character moments (which are less likely if the castaways are all too gamebotty).
I agree with you, honestly. What annoyed me most about Bhanu was how the show handled his story -- primarily, giving him two boot episodes. But in more limited quantities, I would have found him easier to swallow.
I'm really curious as to whether or not Maria would have won had she been in the final 3 instead of Charlie. Many people think she would but I'm dubious especially as her failure to vote for Charlie suggests that she wouldn't have voted for herself either.
Obviously this is pure speculation as I can't really tell but my best guess is that Kenzie gets votes from Tiffany, Venus, and probably Liz, while Maria gets votes from Charlie, Soda, probably Q and maybe Hunter. Tevin is the one I'm least sure about but I'm guessing that he votes Kenzie making it 4-4 with Ben breaking the tie in Kenzie's favour.

Can you do an analysis of Natalie Anderson? Her and Sandra were the two winners I loved back during my survivor phase a few years ago. And their seasons were the ones I fully watched.

Shoot me in the eye, but Maria was my winner pick in the beginning and I liked her throughout the season.
But I'll admit, everything that is coming out about her does sour the season for me. And the more time passes, the more I feel like Charlie should have won. (Kenzie is great btw)
I understand Maria's reasoning, but the lack of accountability and her being too proud to admit feeling bitter is not cute.
the reason i’m not as hard on Maria for not voting for Charlie is fact that just because someone promised to vote for you in the end, doesn’t mean they have to.
we have seen this a whole bunch of times. if you took the time to research this, you’d see it’s just as common as Q asking “what are you gonna do with the money?”
Maria could’ve been lying to Charlie the whole time about voting her. but because fans like yall take this show so serious and literally, she has to come up with BS excuses to justify her actions.

The reason there's such a fuss about Maria's jury vote is prejudice against older women. You all subconsciously expect her to be motherly and nurturing to Charlie. The fact that he's a young straight white male adds further subconscious bias that he is "supposed" to be the protagonist as per most movies and books. But no Kensie had super power-like social game skills. And Maria's vote aside, why didn't Charlie win the other jury votes that he didn't. He didn't need Maria's vote if he had secured one or all of the other jurors. He lost. Fair and square
With the exception of Tevin, everyone else's votes for Kenzie over Charlie and Ben made sense, as outlined in her winner video. I don't care that she voted Kenzie, I care that she is clearly lying about why.

Writing this comment after your 3rd secret: I don't understand how Marie not voting Charlie is such a big controversy, like yeah it's upsetting, but by far it would not have made a difference. Even though he was never asked, I see no universe where Ben, as the tiebreaker, would have voted Charlie over Kenzie. Kenzie was always there for Ben through his night terrors, and though he put her in the position to make fire against Liz, I felt like it was because he felt she deserved the win the most, and when it would no longer come to a competition but now, his choice who deserves the win more, Ben would pick Kenzie every time.
EDIT: Okay, wow now that I've seen the 4th secret, I guess I'm really off-base and the controversy makes sense now lmao

Maria telling Charlie, he has her vote, is a God Tier move, to see if a player gets complacent and over confident about their position in their possible Final 3... and he ended up, not playing as hard, after the Final 5 Elimination, as a result. Maria gave him a false sense of security, and that is what makes Maria a Legendary player on the same level as Boston Rob. She planted seeds in Charlie that would effect the game, even after her Elimination. Charlie is just a bitter 2nd place loser, and is on that level of bitterness as Russell Hantz! Well played Maria and Kenzie!
Now THIS is the most insane take, especially since Maria is openly bitter and Charlie has only commented twice while she's changed her story like five times. She didn't deliberately play him at all. She wanted to hurt him for not taking her on that reward.
