Wait, for real, as someone who just listens to the music and doesn’t really follow a whole lot with the social media except going to shows, I felt like it was one of their biggest releases. It’s definitely a transition from their old stuff, but I suppose I assumed the album was huge because it sounded huge, the production quality was so good. I saw them on this US tour, and they headlined in Portland. Every band there was great and the energy was better than any show I had ever been to. You could tell that they were just getting all this frustration out into the world in a healthy way.

I became a fan than Node came out. It was really like a life changing moment, but little dud i know until i saw them on the Alien Tour live in San Francisco at Slims. Both Northlane and Erra gave the best performances of their life. I remember walking down the street to the closest bus, totally soaked in sweat, bc it was a hot August day abd night. I had a similar upbringing like Marcus, to me the most thing i hate was that i could not talk about the evil and cruel things that were done to me. I guess the psychological term is Helsinki Syndrome there you get feelings of attachment and mire for oeople who have caused you nothing but harm. Like Marcus i got away but with quite a bit of anxiety, ptsd paired with my seizures and tremors and spasms, even though i live today 13 flight hours away from this horrible place, my hell. Years later a girlfriend told kind of understood me right on and brought it to the right words ‘if you don’t feel secure with who you really are, you will more likely hang around circumstances or a family that does not treat you nice, because how would we outside world treat you once they know your whole stiory. Mine is being born XXY, shortly after my death i was forced to endure a hysterectomy, i always knew that i was a girl and not a boy and also that i was queer and that i desperately would have given everything to give birth to a little girl. Today my children are my 6 cat children, i try desperately to get back into either starting my own metal core babd or starting my own recording studio solely for Metal core. The only true friends I’ve ever had and still have are either other musicians or medical physicians, because they understand whats going on with me, why even sometimes my voice tremors or i choke on food or fluids...........this is my Story.....my name is Catherine.......feel free to reply but please know that i just like Marcus no longer tolerate any abuse in any way like those crazy and disturbed cyberstalkers with 100s of social media accounts........blessed be Northlane

Northlane is such a big part of me. They saved my life too much time thru my life, couldn’t get along with anyone and i was living in the street basically. I had a vision too deep for anyone to understand because of Northlane.
Northlane has brought me a purpose in life, a REAL reason to live.. Without Northlane id be dead and that’s not even a question. They have showed me that life is worth living thru they’re music and lyrics. If Northlane dies, i feel like my soul will die too.

I remember first hearing Singularity, I was fresh to this whole progressive stuff being introduced to metalcore still. I had been listening to Architechts' 2016 album when I found out they had a close relationship to a band called Northlane, so I checked them out. Singularity to me had all the heartfelt passion and raw emotion of bands like Killswitch, early All That Remains, Miss May I, and etc., but with a level of introspection that I was maybe always afraid to access myself. The trance like riffs of The Calling, and sheer brave lyrics that Adrian roared out threw my soul into a new realm full of new thoughts and evolution. I soon went back and listened to discoveries, fell in love with it too. Eventually I found Marcus' first album Node, it wasn't the rawness and riff centered style I was used to hearing from the previous stuff, and wasn't sure about it for a bit. But as much as Adrian and the rest of the member's music had done for me on the previous albums, I figured why not continue the growth of my musical interests with Marcus' debut album? I could tell that even tho I wasn't crazy about it at first, it still had Northlane's signature on it, they still had their core, their sense of identity stamped on it. It felt like a betrayal not to give it a try. I slowly began listening to it, having it in the background while I would clean up and do chores, or pick up trash in my yard and around the neighborhood. And before long, I was vigorously singing along to Rot. What an absolute fucking masterpiece of a song, the whole album is amazing. Mesmer only even further enhanced my life, I was going through some heavy shit and questioning all kinds of stuff. I had even had a seriously traumatic acid trip, basically a 10 hour long panic attack. A completely reality shattering experience, and not in the good way that most people talk about psychedelics. The many interesting topics and sounds on mesmer helped me reconnect to parts of myself, and think of past traumatic experiences in new ways that were very healing for me. (Colourwave especially) I know the guys said they felt like Node and Mesmer were under-performers, but from my experience, they were 110% vital to my personal growth. Alien is also near and dear to me, Talking Heads is my go-to song after when my sometimes severe social anxiety rears it's ugly head. Again, the whole album is masterpiece of Human art. These guys are one of the most important bands in my life, maybe even the most important, and their music is among the most genuine and honest I've ever heard, no matter what song or album it is. I will forever love every note they play.
p.s. sorry for leaving a review esque paragraph comment here, I have ADHD and shit. Just want you guys to know how much I love you, if you even see this. Thank you for everything.

I started listening when Marcus came in and these guys quickly became my favorite band, I noticed Marcus in his interviews was very subdued and introverted very much like myself which revealed many things to me that I recognized. Pain. It never came through in the lyrics until Alien. Marcus seemed to be struggling looking for a place to belong, I know the feeling very well. I lost my father in a car accident due to alcoholism and when Bloodline came out with the music video I instantly realized why I gravitated toward Marcus so much. You guys will forever be the best. Thank you.

I first found Northlane as a warm up for The Amity Affliction and I was so blown away by the first song they sang, Rot. Marcus’s vocals were more than amazing, Northlanes stage presence was insane and I’ve loved them ever since. Every album just gets better and I’m so sad I never got to see them when the came over to the UK for the Alien tour 😭 you guys are amazing and so genuine and I really hope you come back to the UK soon x

This was such a heavy, but informative and lovely watch. Holy fuck that live footage of "sleepless" literally gave me chills. These guys have been one of my favorite bands since Node. Mesmer is one of my favorite albums of all time. When I got the CD in the mail I listened to it on repeat while staring at the ceiling. I'll never forget the first time I heard Colorwave. I nearly shit a brick. It's one of the only songs I've ever considered getting lyrics tattooed. It really resonates with me. I cant believe that album didn't give them the numbers they deserved. It had such a massive sound, and was super important in my life at the time. Eternally grateful for that album. Alien is also on another level. Super happy these guys have found their stride and enhanced an already matured sound, and that it took them to where they want to be and deserve to be. I cant wait to see the ways they continue to grow. Their show at St Andrews hall in Michigan last year was fantastic. I picked up a shirt and both Alien+Mesmer on Vinyl and I don't even own a record player. After the set I was fortunate enough to talk with John and he went out of his way to have some of the guys sign my things. It meant a lot to me. The only person who I didn't get the chance to say hi to, or have sign them was Marcus. Watching this I had no idea what he was going through at the time. I hope he was having an ok night because holy shit did he sound amazing live.
I wish you guys nothing but the continued success and cannot wait for your next return to Michigan and the United States. Much love.

I started crying when Marcus got emotional and I just wanted to say that I'm really grateful that you made Alien and went on tour. Listening to the songs of Alien give me a lot of mental support, knowing someone like Marcus who is so strong and talented came from a rough family background and still made something so incredible... It motivates me to become as strong as he is. And your concert in Munich December last year was the most emotional and overall best concert I have ever been to and cheered me up during a rough time! I love you guys, even though I haven't listened to a lot of your old stuff. Thank you so so much. ❤

I did not knew anything about northlane, but I saw them on open-flair and they blew me away. what a great band, now I bought every music they released on itunes and I love the old and the new stuff. especial the synth-sounds are amazing in the newer stuff. the sounds from 18min+ are so great. they should combine that with guitars screams and cleans vocals...that would I expect from northlane while moving forward. I think there are GREAT things to expect from them.
