1:56 - 2:22 now that's how you review an acoustic preamp. Hope to see a fair comparison between Fishman, LR Baggs, Boss, using strictly no onboard preamp/eq like this. Thanks for the video.
Hey Don Carr! I got goosebumps when I saw your name and wondered if it was you, my favorite guitar player!!! I still love to listen the riff you did on one of my recordings where you doubled the run. It's so cool!! You do a great job on this video too! Congrats!
Very cool. I've been looking for a simple "all in one" type of acoustic DI for travel gigs where I can just throw this or a small board in my luggage. I really dig the layout here. This pedal would be a slam dunk outta the park if it had the option for REV & DELAY both on at the same time, and also a passive FX loop. Other than that this pedal hits at about 97% in my book.
Interesting. I'm a huge fishman fan. I wonder how this would sound through my acoustic electric Ibanez with a 3 band eq running through the fishman loud box mini. I already get most of these effects with the amp alone.
I run a Taylor 618e (newer version) through this and if you spend a little time you can get quite a good sound. The trick is not not push anything to hard... do your low end roll off, boost the highs a bit and cut the mids a little (everything is center-detent on the Taylor so I can have full override live if needed) and mix in some of the compression, it's really not suffocating. Reverb 1 seems just right at least in our 250-seat church. HOWEVER, I'm not a big fan of the DI in this. It sounds good, that's about it. I use a dedicated Radial J48 DI box which runs on Phantom power and sonically walks the Fishman off the court IMO. I use the Amp out on the Fishman into the J48, much better result (this is for fingerstyle btw, not mush strumming). I know, this breaks the all-in-one idea, but there's three things that keep this from being a true AIO unit: for this price it should run on Phantom power (although moot point for me now), there's no Mute footswitch which would be great for guitar changes, no built in tuner that works when muted like the Boss pedal, and Reverb & Delay are not able to run simultaneously. Maybe that's asking a lot but this isn't a $129 unit. Nonetheless, tone-wise it's quite good once you work with it and at the end of the set or service, that's all that matters.
honestly, this video made me not want to buy this product. when i played this in guitar center, it sounded wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than in this video. dont let the c grade pickup in the yamaha fool you. the ToneDeq is fantastic in real life. sounds 100xs better than in the video.
Hello. I got mine . And i have question. When i use the xlr out (Di) why the volume Nob in the fishman don’t work? Only the volume of my mixer can control the volume . Even when a press the button pre and post. The volume nob dont work. The volume nob only works when I use the p10 out put jack
Hi, Phil! Our team would be glad to look into this for you. When you have a moment, please give us a call at (800) 222-4700 or email us at sales@sweetwater.com. You may also visit www.sweetwater.com/about/contact Thanks for the message!
Great sound, but I am getting a constant hum that seems to be related to the level of the effects -- becoming louder as the effect is set at a higher level.
take a look if you use not qualitive power supply. If so then try a good stabilized adapter. But maybe it's fishmans problem. Once i've got a fishman onboard preamp and it was hummy. So I had to replace it and never bought fishman again)
Hello, mariospanayimusic! Yes, it can be used as a DI box. It's one of the many things it does. Reach out if you have more questions. Thanks for the interest! Ben Jimenez, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1312, ben_jimenez@sweetwater.com - Se habla Español
I didn't like any of the effects. They are thin and older digital sounding. The comp, DI, boost, Lo Cut, and EQ sound pretty good. But, getting this pedal means that you would want a lean all-in-one acoustic pedalboard, so to speak. The search continues!
Hey, there! I believe you can indeed use both outputs simultaneously. Just keep in mind that the amp output is an unbalanced signal, while the D.I. output is a balanced signal. If you're connecting both into a mixer, you'd want to place another D.I. between the amp output and the mixer. Thanks for the interest! Trevor Parks, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1724, trevor_parks@sweetwater.com
Hi, Jonatan. As long as your guitar has some sort of pickup so that signal can get to the pedal, it will work great. It was designed with steel string guitars in mind, but it would definitely work well for nylon string instruments, too. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320
Am I the only one who thinks that guitar sounds terrible? Probably mostly because of the piezo pickup. I have yet to find a satisfactory setup for acoustic guitar amplification with anything other than a good quality condenser mic.
Yeah it's just something we have to deal with for live applications. When mixed in with the rest of the band it gets you by, but in the studio I'd never use a piezo.
Hello! Yes, you can run both together. Thanks for the interest! Lindsey Becker, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1674, lindsey_becker@sweetwater.com
Okay so this guy is so good looking I would be jealous if I wasn't hot as "F". Lol. Seriously though, would this pair with the fishman auria? Did I say that right? Anyway...thoughts?
Hi - I just got the ToneDEQ and when I plug in Fishman SA220 amp I get a loud hum (like the sound when you turn amp volume all the way up without any audio signal). I got a replacement and have the same issue with it. I have a Donner pedal which when plugged in does not have the same issue. Did you observe any such hum/static. BTW even when no effect is turned on I have the issue.
ITS A LOT OF MONEY TO PAY FOR THIS WHICH IF YOU HAVE A DECENT GUITAR YOU CAN GET A GOOD SOUND AS ANY OF THIS WITH A DECENT ACOUSTIC PEDAL BUT IT WILL BE A LOT CHEAPER

Great demo. Very helpful.
Nice video. Sounds freaking awesome!!!
Great review!
Thank you, I definitely won't be buying one of those, maybe it was the guitar but I thought all the sounds were awful. Helped me rule that one out.
Thanks for review! I just ordered it and look forward to play with this baby
its cool thanks For sharing this

why sideways?
Unfortunately there is no tap-function :-(
hello! Excuse me... is it good for double bass or electric bass? thanks for your answer😊
honestly, this video made me not want to buy this product.

the ToneDeq is fantastic in real life.

Correct. Yahama sounds good unplugged
which one better between venue Di and fishman tonedef?
sounds best bypassed
What kinda power adaptor do you need for this? Is it the 12v or the 9v adaptor?
Hi +Shota Adamashvili. It takes a 9vdc adaptor. Thanks!
if I have a 3band eq on guitar, how should it be set? in the middle?
the eq on the amplifier, how should that be set?

Is That correct?

No option for combination of delay/reverb.. So you still have to buy for a separate delay pedal effect..
MJ Podolig I'm guessing, unless your amp is already equipped with delay.

Can you output both 1/4 and XLR at the same time into two channels for stereo effect: dry and chorus for example, like Roland JC?
Hey, there! I believe you can indeed use both outputs simultaneously. Just keep in mind that the amp output is an unbalanced signal, while the D.I. output is a balanced signal. If you're connecting both into a mixer, you'd want to place another D.I. between the amp output and the mixer.

How it works with nylon string guitars???

Pretty awesome, wish you could use effects together, but all in all I want one
How does somebody come to the idea to build in a compressor and make it NOT switchable? To me that ruins the whole thing.
Am I the only one who thinks that guitar sounds terrible? Probably mostly because of the piezo pickup. I have yet to find a satisfactory setup for acoustic guitar amplification with anything other than a good quality condenser mic.

No tuner?
anyone know if you can run the chorus and delay together?

I know these sound much better in person. To me, this vid just made a lousy piezo sound even lousier.
No tuner???
Yeah i wish it had an onboard tuner but i later picked up a wireless guitar system with a tuner built into it
buon prodotto, peccato non ha il tap tempo per il delay
A yamaha ll6 is not an all solid wood guitar.
Okay so this guy is so good looking I would be jealous if I wasn't hot as "F". Lol. Seriously though, would this pair with the fishman auria? Did I say that right? Anyway...thoughts?
Peccato che non ci sia un vero delay con il tap-tempo
All I hear is the quacky UST sound... Yuk

I just bought this and the middle button is muting the signal for some reason! Any ideas? TIA

Dieser Test ist ungeeignet der Typ ist nur am Quatschen vom Gerät hört man nicht, die frage wäre wer teste das Gerät noch.
Im getting a headache from watching this sideways
Qwack qwack
Pra mim, é um equipamento que não serve pra nada, uma pedaleira GT da Boss é mais barato e da de dez a zero nesse equipamento aí.
Why would you work left to right when the signal runs right to left? No thank you yeti man, yer guitar sounds pish!
