So what’s happening is, the last two parts were originally a single big finale. There were originally just three parts but for some reason, Disney+ separated them
i think they were separated for tv reruns, since gravity falls only had 20 minute time slots for tv

@@noahtaylor1721 Actually, I remember sometimes seeing some images at the time with "Somewhere in the Woods" In the time slot--I think it was on Reddit or Twitter? I even remember a few people theorizing what was that "Part 4", so this might be the case.

*streaming services separated them. I'm pretty sure they do it because it might cost extra to have a random episode to not have a runtime that's anywhere close to all of the other episode's runtime.
Fun fact: last month, in celebration of the show’s 10th anniversary, Alex Hirsch sang We’ll Meet Again as Bill, Soos, Stan, and McGucket. Great fan service. PLUS he also released a compilation of all the ridiculous emails he got from Disney executives and the S&P regarding how some of the certain jokes in the show and stuff like that had “adult connotations” that hardly anyone would get from the context. Heck, to those higher-up’s, a character saying Jeez was considered an insult to Jesus
I just watched a video about the emails the other day and Alex's responses to the executives are hilarious.
my favorite one is when they asked him to remove "Soos line about dressing as a teddy bear" because "it may have connotation with the sexual fetish of furry"

It's such a shame because i really wanted something like that. A spinoff about the stan twins traveling around the world and see many creatures already has so much potential. But of course disney executives just had to be dumb to turn it down 😒

Fun fact: after Bill is defeated you see a stone statue of him. There was a real life international treasure hunt (made by Alex Hirsch) after Gravity Falls with hidden clues, codes etc that lead to a stone statue of Bill hidden in the woods. There are some grait storys about this, but I think the most emotional is Alex´s fiew on this. He once said that he just had the idea for this treasuree hunt and wanted to do it at any cost, and as he unloaded the Bill statue from the car to burry it in the woods he realized that with this treasurehunt he unconciously has made a funeral for his legacy of Gravity Falls and that this was his way to bring it to a close...
Not just a statue of Bill but instead his lifeless corpse.

I've previously seen a few people call Stanley getting his memories back a cop-out, but it actually makes sense. It's shown in the Society of the Blind Eye episode that showing someone their erased memories can actually return those memories to them (as seen with McGucket).
It's so cool how this series seems to connect everything so perfectly. What an absolute masterpiece.
I think it should have taken longer. It made it a bit too easy to get his memories back. If it happened over like the course of a week or something I think it would have felt more earned.
It's also a double ending. If people want the sad ending, they have it. They can just tell themselves that the part afterwards is non-canon, made for children who want a happy ending. And people who want the happy ending get their ending too.

@@iainmcdonalds4018 I don't remember but in Dipper and Mabel vs the future, how long it was until their birthday? Cause like Bill said in the beggining of Weirdmaggedon part 1, time has stopped right there so no other day passed until he was defeated. So that means that the timestamp of Stan completely recovering his memory is the same with the timestamp between the date of Dipper and Mabel vs the future and their birthday party.
Also, another reason the writing for this ending is so clever is because Bill was defeated by erasing Stans mind. So if he managed to restore his mind, it makes sense to assume Bill was also restored. It's not just a cop out happy ending, it has some sinister implications.
In general, writing like this can be quite genious, if applied correctly. Where it's literally impossible to have a cheap ending. Because, let's face it, Stan regaining his memories without the implications of Bill returning would be a cheap ending, but the way it's written makes that outcome impossible, because there's no concievable way for that to even happen. It's either his memories stay lost and Bill stays dead, which is a good ending, or he gets them back and in so doing, brings back Bill, which is also a good ending. (Good as in well-written). It's impossible to have your cake and eat it too with this show, which is a rarity in media in my opinion.
Oh, and by the way, I do realize that there's more than just implications pointing to the fact that Bill isn't dead, but that's not relevant to my point, so I chose to forgo mentioning that.
Fun fact. That bill cipher statue was actually real. They Held an entire contest see which one could find it. When I got a bunch of Easter eggs Trinkets and a super cool Replica of journal number three

I love how the final little spat between Stanley and Ford mirrors the fight Dipper and Mabel had in Little Dipper. The smart twin is too prideful and needs to be right, and the artistic one is too bull headed to just let it go. And both learned to not be either the hard way.

Gravity Falls is one of those rare series that hit that perfect ending formula. It leaves you wanting *more*, but at the same time ties everything up in a satisfying end. Few series are able to pull it off, much less to GF's degree.
27:47 Alex Hirsch actually pitched a show about this concept (minus the adult stuff) to Disney, but they rejected it because they thought having 2 adult protagonists wouldn't appeal to kids

The codes you read out before the final episode might be the ones that were in the episode. When aired, 3 and 4 were right after each other so it was there was no break and was like a full singular episode
They _were_ originally one episode, but it was split up for disney+ so that every episode would be only 20 minutes
stan means a lot to me because of how selfless he is when it comes to his family especially to ford, even though they’ve had a rough relationship for decades, so im glad you guys are as happy as i am when stan got his memories back 🤧
they need to listen to the audio from when Alex Hirsch was doing a commentary AS Grunkle Stan, talking about when he was married. They'll DEFINITELY know it was Eda.
I would personally recommend Phineas and Ferb, & Avatar, The Last Airbender. Both really good shows that are some of my favorites.

Phineas and ferb is a little more episodic but still a great show! Infinity train also has the feelings of gravity falls but it is an incomplete story unlikely to be finished for a while

Side-note: Avatar: The Last Airbender _might_ be titled Avatar: The Legend of Aang where Omar lives. Don't know for sure, but I do know the show was titled that in some countries.
So…there’s a theory-though it’s more or less hanging in limbo now-that Bill Cipher’s incantation in the 20th episode, as well as an irl book passage is about reincarnation.
As Bill was dying he said in reverse:
“AXOLOTL, my time has come to burn!
I invoke the ancient power, that I may return!”
Bill’s desperation implies that he knows if he wants ANY chance to come back, it’s gotta come through reincarnation.
NOW! One passage from the irl book, “Dipper and Mabel and the Curse of the Time Pirates’ Treasure”, is when Dipper and Mabel meet a god like creature, which is a giant axolotl!! The passage reads:
“Sixty degrees that come in threes.
Watches from within birch trees.
Saw his own dimension burn.
Misses home and can’t return.
Says he’s happy. He’s a liar.
Blame the arson for the fire.”
The first half of that passage is obviously about what Bill said in episode 20’s beginning while torturing Stanley. Bill “liberated” his dimension as we saw by the vision in his eye, though he didn’t sound too overjoyed by it despite the timbre of his voice. Though considering liberating it came with burning it to the ground to escape, I’d say that’s a fair reaction to keep oneself going. Anyway, to the second juicier part of this passage.
“If he wants to shirk the blame,
He’ll have to invoke my name.
One way to absolve his crime.
A different form, a different time.”
SO. The bigger aspect is that if Bill wants to try again to become an overlord, or a god or what have you, he’ll need to prove it to the AXOLOTL god by living another life, and not repeating those mistakes. The reason this is so interesting, is because we DO have a character that a couple of you happen to like who may be Bill’s reincarnation. If you’d like to see a video about this theory and determine for yourselves how much weight it holds, I’ll leave a link to it here: th-cam.com/video/ESYm8-wLeqk/w-d-xo.html I’ll give the sparknotes for who this theory is about below in relation to Bill.
Think of a character with a childlike demeanor, who has yellow eyes similar to when Bill possessed or controlled other people’s bodies. This character also sees themself as a godlike character-albeit above plushies. They’re also a demon. It’s probably coming together, but it’s to say that Bill’s potential reincarnation shares many of his personality traits, like the desire to rule over others, but the reincarnation is still young enough that they don’t know about being reborn, and merely have the emotions of who they used to be.

Anyhow, that’s the theory. As cool as this theory for Bill and his potential reincarnation sounds, and I’d personally think it’d be cool to see it come to light, I get why it may not, because the character I’m referencing has had way more development since this theory arose a few years back, and as of Season 2, we actually know where they came from now. I can’t say more without spoiling the the 2nd season, but in hindsight it was still a very fun theory. The last thing that could’ve supported this theory was that Alex Hirsch voices Bill Cipher and this second character. Also, Hirsch and Dana Terrace (Owl House’s creator) were dating over the last few years until there recent breakup in April 2022, so maybe Terrace was on board for linking the two shows for the prospect of a crossover and or reveal at one point?
There was also that theory that Eda was Stanley’s ex-wife, and given that she had access to the human world portal, she could’ve stolen stuff from him and bailed through the portal, and I think there was one Bill Cipher Easter-egg on a blackboard in one of the earlier OH episodes. Who knows, even if this theory is washed out, maybe the universes could still be linked. 🤔🤷♂️

That final shot of a realistic Bill Cipher statue is actually a real Bill Cipher statue. Right after the show ended, Alex Hirsch ran a massive ARG called the Cipher Hunt, where fans from around the world would go to specific places, find ciphers, audio logs, and puzzles, get special rewards, and eventually reveal the location of Bill Cipher, turned to stone and resting in the woods with a special prize for the first ones to find it. Sadly, property disputes forced Alex to move the statue around, but it's found itself at an amazingly ironic spot: Confusion Hill. Confusion Hill is a tourist trap in Piercy California which is what originally inspired the Mystery Shack, and the Bill statue has been permanently relocated there, hanging on a tree for fans to come see. I would highly reccomend you guys look into it, since the amount of cool stuff that came out of it and the long, winding road it took to find Bill is incredibly interesting, and was one of the quintesential parts of being a Gravity Falls fan when it came out.
It should go without saying, but people like me still say it cause it’s too true. Alex Hirsch created a masterpiece and influenced something great, not just for Disney in terms of Amphibia and The Owl House, but for the animation industry as a whole moving forward into the modern era.
so... a fun thing to watch if you want more gravity falls content is the Between the Pines documentary. It's Alex kinda letting us in on some bts about the show, how he came up with the characters and stuff like that, but it's done in a very fun way, which i think would be cool for a reaction.

the dragon prince is also a good show it is a cartoon it is on Netflix and it is ongoing, it is coming out with the 4th season some time this year but thy haven't confirmed a release date yet. i really loved the show when i first watched it. The voice actor that voiced Sokka in avatar the last air bender also does the main character Callum. I love this show and i think that u would enjoy it. It is different then gravity falls i would say that it has a similar vibe as avatar or legend of Korra. As of right now without counting the season 4 b/c it hasn't come out yet their is 27 episodes. the seasons are short but still enjoyable. i hope u like it to if u chose to watch it.

Originally there were only three wiredmageddon but they split the finale into 2 episodes. That's why that cypher is under weirdmageddon 3.
Last I checked, it's kinda the opposite of what you said at 25:23. The last episode was a double length one, but Disney+ split it in half.
I know this video is 2 years old, so you guys probably won't see this, but it would be so cool if you guys did a podcast ep on the new book The Book of Bill, because it is heavy with lore. Like things we don't even know about, and the community is coming back because gravity falls released a website that is supposed to reveal something, but we're waiting.

Ten short episodes of two brothers who, trying to find their way home, come across some interesting stuff in the woods!
If you guys plan on making cartoons a mainstay, you should 100% do "Adventure Time"
So if you look back through the shows, they use a few pieces of imagery that involve Stan burning and foreshadow how he gets his memories erased. If you’ll remember Sock Opera, his sock puppet flies through the air in slow motion with Ave Maria playing in the background. And in The Love God, his hot air balloon burns
Some I feel like you guys are REALLY going to enjoy if you want more Gravity Falls are Between The Pines, One Crazy Summer, or a video on the Cipher Hunt. They all involve the creators of the show either talking about Gravity Falls' history and how it was made as a show, as well as general secrets and info about the show that you guys missed.
The Cipher Hunt was an official worldwide treasure hunt based on the ending of the series which I feel like you guys will really love learning about

As a twin I loved this series because I resonated so much with Dipper and Mabel’s relationship It really was the first show I saw that depicted twins in a way that wasn’t sexual or creepy. I guess it helps that Alex is a twin so he understands the dynamics so well 😊

Highly recommend you guys check out the emails between Alex Hiersh and the Disney ppl who tried to censor the show. The stuff they wanted gone was insane, and I think it might be a contributor to why he ended the show a bit earlier since he found creating GF exhausting and originally planned a s3.

Gravity falls was my child hood, I can clearly remember watching it as it aired and getting hyped to watch the finale with my friends! Love all the other shows you react to too, if you want something kind of similar I would recommend a series called infinity train that came out a few years later and I feel you’d all enjoy just as much

Ahh, the memories. I remember being so empty for a few weeks after the show ended
Gravity falls was the 1st ever cartoon I watched and it got me into cartoons and animation in general. I will never forget the feelings I had during this finale. As for my recomendations, there r at least 3 shows I'd like u to see:
1.) Steven Universe.
2.) She-ra and the princesses of power.
3.) Infinity train.
Also I am of course excited abt Amphibia.

Y'all should watch the Gravity Falls Lost legends video on TH-cam. It's a voice acted showing of the Gravity falls tie-in book. Really cool stuff
I still stand by that this is one of the best series finales in anything. It wraps up everything perfectly after delivering an epic final showdown against one of animation's best villains. Even with as many times as I've seen it, it still makes me cry. It's just honestly exceptional.
The fact that there is still two Dipper copies out there in the woods could cause some shenanigans

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, or if you guys noticed, but during the credits one of the pictures showed Dipper 3 and 4 living in the woods, from the Dipper clone episode. They were the two Dippers that stole Robbie's bike to get him away from Wendy. So they are the only two Dipper clones that lived since all the other ones melted.
For other shows you should watch, I have a few. For Disney, I would suggest Wander Over Yonder, the new Duck Tales, The Ghost and Molly McGee (when all twenty episodes are on Disney+), Milo Murphy's Law (Weird Al voices the main character), Star Wars Visions and Marvel's What If. On Netflix I would suggest The Cuphead Show, Centaurworld, Glitch Techs, Hilda, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Kid Cosmic, Inside Job, and Disenchantment. Outside of Disney show, I would suggest Mega XLR, Time Squad, Jellystone, Infinity Train, Over the Garden Wall, and Animaniacs (original and reboot). I know that's a lot, and I'm sure there's more I can't remember, but my top suggestions are Mega XLR, Wander Over Yonder, new Duck Tales and Kid Cosmic.
3 and 4 was originally 1 episode. Just not on Disney. Plus there was a real bill cypher in the forest somewhere

You guys should react to the 10th Anniversary secret tapes release, as well as the compilation of emails between the creator Alex Hirsch and the Disney executives. Really gives you an insight into the censorship at Disney and why shows like Owl House had so much trouble getting a 3rd season
The Cipher Hunt was an irl puzzle game that Alex Hirsch did at the end of the series! It involved codes and clues leading to a real Bill statue, it's super interesting and worth a look!

originally weirdmageddon part 3 and 4 were a single episode, they recently decided to separate them into two separate episodes; consequently the codes of weirdmageddon part 3 are the same as in part 4.
It is true the way the had ended the series was really amazing and sad. And it was really effective

another animation series I really like is the Tales of Arcadia trilogy by Guillermo del Toro, its extremely underrated, there’s three series that are all tied together, first id Trollhunters (my personal favorite), then 3below, then wizards, GDT is amazing at writing about fantasy so I’d highly recommend it to people in the comments

I think the stuff at the end was maybe related to the ARG where there was a real life Bill Cipher statue in the woods somewhere.
not for the channel entirely, but I'd love for them to re watch the show so they can realize all the stuff throughout the show revealed at the end, like in the fishing episode Stan had the boat named "Stan 'o war" which is the name of the boat he was going to use to sail around the world with his brother

I love it! Gravity falls is finished, amphibia and owl house are great follow ups. Along with those reactions I suggest the ducktales 2017 reboot series, Star versus the forces of evil and tangled the srries
Star is great, but maybe skip the last bit of the 4th season and pretend it ends at Cornonation. Or skip the last season entirely.
Definitely except… Star Vs is a great show only for the first few seasons, then if gets horrible after the love triangles get more attention then plot, the creator loses all capacity to tel stories, Seth is hinted at several times and never is shown despite his build up, and there is a ton of y acknowledged filler plot that wasn’t wrapped up

You guys should definitely watch "Steven Universe" it has a bunch of episodes and it has an amazing story line. Amazing twists and a great movie. 100% recommend for you guys to watch.
