My tiguan recently was total. The car had a minor frame damage and could have been fixed! But VW required the fix to replace the entire side panel which cost $11,000. The air bags was expensive as well. My VW had 71k mileage and every second I had to do a oil change. I bought a Rav4 and it was much cheaper and it drive better than my VW. I would admit the VW has better quality cabin but the Rav4 is much more reliable and cheaper to maintain

The thing that you don’t cover in your review is that VW has a turbo four which has a very jerky character especially at take off. Plus you need to use premium fuel to get best performance. Also, the seats in the VW are flat and have very little support in the back and lower legs. Lastly, the VW has no storage up front, the steering control buttons are dump and hard to use.
