    Honda CR-V is the best when it's come to reality and realibity it's Honda or Toyota definitely. German cars look nice and have nice look but when it's come to service and daily use I will always pick up Honda CR-V. My opinion

    Matt,that honda is simply the best SUV..we have honda CR-V since new,from 2014....5 years driving it every day to work and no problems,no problems or foults at all !!! That 1.6 diesel its just briliant engine with a great economy!!! And don’t say that the car is too soft compering with competitors.That CR-V is quite hard on the bumpy roads..and my opinion the biggest shit of all is the new volkswagen..just telling what I have heard from many ,many mechaniks...
    Thank you HONDA for another one best car ever !!!

      Here’s the thing, reliability is never really a issue with these types of cars if given regular servicing and although I agree Honda engines remain equally good from start of buying to end, vw offers better dynamics and is actually a more tech loaded,feature loaded,faster,more comfortable and overall has a more better Diesel engine.

      Spot on....garage bills or lack there of are great. Underneath everything, the Honda is in a league of its own. Has the overall best quality feel and the best by far quality in reality. The RAV4 might shade it in the oddway, but overall the sheer completeness of the Honda is head and shoulders above the other two. I have had 2 RAV4s and 2 CRVs and the Hondas were so much more classy and in my experience more reliable. I wouldnt even try a Tiguan based on reports of multiple issues. The mark one had a bad reputation in the garage trades and with the benefit of hindsight (here in 2024) this newer version is reported to be even worse for faults. Buy one on PCP by all means, but dont buy it off the dealer at the end. A CRV will las decades!

    I rented the CRV for 3 weeks in Turkey and omg the car was amazingly comfortable to drive and sit in. And their is ample room, way more than you can ever need and seats 3 at the back comfortably. The engine is amazing and it's only a 1.6 Diesel! Even fully loaded the car more than enough power. The 9 speed gearbox is mesmerising, 180+ kmh and it's doing just under 2000rpm.

    As much as I like Toyota, their designs are looking increasingly desperate lately. I understand they're trying to move past their reputation of being 'boring' but take it easy you guys. There is always a place for no nonsense offerings. VW these days seem to be taking on that role. Their stuff are more reliable than they used to be and look simple and smart.

    • @mjames2117
      @mjames2117 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Toyota don't appear to give good value for money when there are other better cars available. They always seem lacking especially in cargo space due to the angular designs. The Honda CRV ticks a lot of boxes except really poor handling/ suspension but you do see a lot of rough ones about now so wonder if they are skimping/ reducing costs on the important stuff.. mechanicals and engines.

    • @dragospahontu
      @dragospahontu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@mjames2117 The Toyota and Honda will undoubtedly outlast the VW, but it doesn't matter to a person buying a new car with warranty. Also VW is cheaper to fix in europe when it will go wrong because there are a lot of parts available.
      I am happy to say that VW is now improving its reliability but you have to thank the Japanese for that.

    • @amstrad79b
      @amstrad79b 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fuel consumption is not an issue when you have a better view of the road ahead. So you have a few milliseconds more to react to a dangerous incident.
      The handling is worse but you should also know the limitations of your vehicle. You are in a public road not a rally circuit.
      And one more thing, many of us cannot fit in small and low ride cars.
      Also if you have child seats you need the height to do everything easily and not break your back.
      It's easy to scorn tall cars but there are groups of people that we like and need them. SUVs are not for those who ride Fiat Puntos, Mazda MX5s, Alfa Romeos or Skoda Octavias...

    The new Volkswagen Tiguan is small on the outside but overall volume is bigger than the others,it has powerful turbo engine alongside responsive handling, not to mention that the Tiguan looks elegant and classy from the outside something that Honda and Toyota have not yet mastered. The people calling the Tiguan boring are the ones who are too ''Hipster'' and prefer to drive plastic Japanese cars with the designs that scream ''trying too hard to look cool'', because they cannot afford such beauty. In Terms of reliability the Tiguan will lose, but it is not a catastrophe, Volkswagen reliability is acceptable just less than Japanese car. Finally this review was done without AWD testing, this where the Tiguan will humiliate its rivals.

      +Stephen Butler There is a big difference in space between the octavia which is a golf and the passat, the wife has a passat and we used an octavia taxi, the other day noticed the difference straight away.

    • @StephenButlerOne
      @StephenButlerOne 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      interceptor1986 not really, maybe the same MQB platform as the golf, but it's stretched, and a much larger body. Their is little in space diffence.
      But if you want replace the Octavia with the Superb, which is superb, much superior to all of the above in space and spec. For me the superb is too big. All your going is giving the kids extra leg room, I (or you) , will still sit the same length way from the pedals. The Octavia already has enough leg room for a 6 footer + in the back. So your swapping rear legroom for driving dynamics. Seems madness to me. Though I love the superb. But I think it'd a car for the over 50.
      The passat and mondeo are for the road warrior type. the 6 is a nice car, almost got one last time round, they look great in their red colour.

  • @BestCarSound
    @BestCarSound 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Recently sat in Tiguan and Tucson. The korean took my heart. Tiguan has more legroom, but that's it. Couldn't adjust the driving position comfortably, Hyundai is perfect in that!
    And no way VW got the biggest boot, maybe on paper, but not in reality. Honda wins, RAV close 2nd.
    Loved pre-facelift CR-V with less chrome, but this' fine too. From this lot, Honda is my pick

    The Tiguan is only small SUV I would buy, because it is the only one in my mind that's good, also unlike a lot of them it is quite capable offroad and fast if you get the twin turbo Diesel engine, it also looks like a proper SUV rather than a jacked up hatchback.

      I bought my mum a Skoda Yeti a while ago (very similar in proportions to the Tiguan with Skoda being a VW group company) thinking it would just be a nice little mum-mobile. It actually corners like nothing I've ever driven before! On twisty mountain roads it leaves everything behind, including hatchbacks! So when Matt said the Tiguan's ride height is the lowest, I wasn't surprised when he said the Tiguan handles the best.
      Also to my eye the Tiguan looks the best. I guess the only place the Japanese cars win hands down would be reliability.

    Quality is not about how soft the plastics are. Would be nice to have soft touch in the back and lower down, but crucially, everything is solid, and the fit and finish around the dash and especially the windows and doors in any VW is beautiful, as well as the exterior; around the boot and door shuts. They just look and feel like quality products.

    I think crv is much better thought out family design than the 2. It has this special feel when you come in and out. Easy to come in and out, No fighting with the neighbor's foot at the back seat as the floor is flat. Oh i love this feature too much. There's more quality feel front to the tail. There's more rolling than the vw tho. Tiguan have this big mound at the backseat which in long distance for 3 back passengers is not very comfortable. The plastic trims feel so cheap and actually cheap. The space feel crampy even in the driver seat. My husby love his tiguan, family love CRV

    Not a particular fan of Japanese design. VW group always have good all rounders, and the best engine range. The Peugeot might be briliant, however where I stay, it has a horrible reputation. Rav 4 is quite popular here in RSA though, as well as the Honda. For what it is worth, these cars do the job they are designed for and for their segment.
