Also fun (ok not very fun) fact, Pavarotti was very ill with cancer during this but he kept singing as long as he could. It's amazing he can make all that sound and power when he's so ill. Bless his heart, an absolute icon.
It's like James sings the experience from the subject and Pavarotti sings the Lesson from it And you... are the emotion of its innocence And that orchestra? immerses you in the ride.
There is brilliance in every part: The two great different but complementary vocal styles, the arrangement, the perfect melding of the two melodies, the back up singers. And what warmed my heart was seeing the immense respect each man had for the others' talent.
Everything is so rich. That Orchestra.....the ebb and flow and soaring and the distinct style of these two men coming together.....it's forever one of my favorites.
I too have been requesting this cut since forever! It's one of those 'must listen' pieces and a performance not to be missed. Two maestros 👏 Thank you, Andy, for finally listening 🤗
This video shows how James Brown actually had a very smooth and warm voice, which was just overshadowed by all the raspy screaming that he tended to do (which I still enjoyed).
@Marie Whitbread not only Frank Sinatra but James Brown also adored Luciano Pavarotti and Vice Versa. They both loved the music each other made and was heavily impressed with each others vocal control. Which is why during this James had a huge smile on his face the entire time. Luciano was a bit down because I believe either the day before this or maybe days before this event, his dad passed away but he still went on stage and performed. Such a legend!
I loved your reaction. I noticed Pavarotti put you in a trance when he started singing. I could tell you genuinely appreciated the performance as a whole.
Hello Mister Davis, I love your reacts. Because you not only love music, you living the music. All what you say come from the heart with a big knowing of facts. Nice to found you on youtube. Stay save and have a good time. Best regards from Thailand.
I always loved to watch Pavarotti with my Oma. She even was able to see him a few times ( we are in a town over here in Germany were we are lucky to have many many super stars stop and have concerts). His voice was just so special and each time I hear him I think about my Oma.
One of my favorite songs by Mr. Brown I’m 25 & man what I wouldn’t give to experience singers like them in our day I know they’re out there and our youth won’t give them a chance
This whole show was Pavarotti was singing with Sting, BONO, I can try to find the videos.. Hade you never heard James Brown when they used to come out & put a cape on him. Thank you so much for your great reaction.
This show was an idea of Pavarotti to collect money for charities all around the world, mainly for children in war zones. It was held in Modena, his city, for over a decade and it took to Modena the very best of Italian and International Pop, Rock, Blues and every other genre's musician and singers. There are a lot of funny episodes of Pavarotti calling others to have them there. One of my favorite is the call he did to Bono to have U2.
This is a great performance of two giants singers. The first time I became aware of this duet, I thought this can't be, it's an impossibility mixing oil and water, I thought it would be an embarrassment for Pavorotti. I knew Pavoritty was an iconic Opera singer, his voice needs time to project, not suited for a song recorded and made famous by James Brown but when I heard Pavorotty's voice! Man was I wrong, and I'm glad I was because Pavorotti adds another dimension to the performances that otherwise we would've never had the opportunity to experience. Beautiful!
First time here and I have to say you put into words what I I couldn’t. I get chills EVERY TIME I play this. I can listen to this everyday and never, ever, get tired of it. Thanks for this vid.
Amazing performance!!! I love it! Genius! Andy, I love your love for music. I identify with that. I smile seeing your happiness when you hear something amazing. And this is indeed amazing
👍👍👍👍 grazie di aver fatto sentire questo monumento della musica che è questo duetto. God bless you. Love from Verona, Italy. Ricordo Luciano in Arena, meraviglioso ( "Celeste Aida" )
your reaction is, as always, outstanding and i appreciate that you brought this video. Today, i would like to share with you a little story or experience i have had with pavarotti(together with 20.000 ither lovers of his voice) He sang in the opera for a good purpose to collect money for children or something like this. The tickets were very expensive up to 1000 ds of euros and sold out very quickly. Outside of the opera, were 20.000 fans of him, without tickets, so as i. After the concert, he came out to the balcon and sang 3 songs for the waiting true lovers of opera. And what can i tell you, is, that in these 3 songs, he put EVERYTHING he had into, even more passion than he demonstrated inside the opera for the rich people. It was amazing, and i will never forget these short concert which was for free. In the actual song with the other legend, James, he must not even use 20 percent of his true capability, and we both know this. I would like to have seen his unforgotten duett with Canadian Icon Celine Dion, i think it was the prayer... and amazing Duett. If you have not seen or enjoyed this rihht now, just do it, you won t regret it.
Pavarotti duetted with several pop stars in his Luciano and Friends concerts! Keep going- great informative reaction! Let’s not overlook the marvelous orchestra!
