This blanket uses the garter stitch and the seed stitch.
Garter Stitch: Knit every stitch for every row.
Seed Stitch: Row 1; (K1, P1) repeat --- subsequent rows, knit the opposite (Knit the purl stitches, and purl the knit stitches).

I have in the past steered away from that only because I didn't want to create a too long or complicated video.
