( sheh-NEEL ) yarn. Chenille is a French word that means hairy caterpillar... oddly enough, that is derived from the Latin canícula, which means small hairy dog ...which was derived from the word canis meaning dog. So apparently, French people think that a cute Maltese or Yorkie or some other small hairy dog looks like a hairy caterpillar and thus, named them, and this yarn, chenille.
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing. Now that l think about it, it does look like a caterpillar.
You don’t pronounce the L in French.
Pretty! Thanks! 💕💕
Thank you too!
loved the pattern, it was easy to follow. Thanks!
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you! ❤
You're welcome 😊
Love your videos..question..2 skeins of each yarn colors for a baby blanket in the size yarn you are showing and the size blanket you speak of?
34 inches wide and 37 inches long.
Your video is excellent, timing, explanation, and how you explain counting are all good. For newbies like me, it it so easy to get lost when trying to know where to insert your hook. Thank you! I want to make a lacey edge for a pillow case.Do you have any videos on thàt?
Glad it was helpful! I am sorry, I do not have a lacy edge pattern.
Beautiful
Thank you
Very pretty ❤
Thank you! 😊
Lovely!❤
Thank you! 😊
Que moleza!!!
Can you add a border to this blanket? Very beautiful blanket!
The stitch is quite stretchy, so it is kind of hard to add a border.
❤
This looks to be a very thick /heavy blanket. Am I right? It takes a lot of yarn? It is Very pretty❤!
Surprisingly, the blanket is thick but has amazing drape. A 34 X 37" blanket took 330 yards of each of the 2 colors.
I wish you would show your work so we could see how it is supposed to look.
I do show the finished blanket in the beginning of the video.
