  • STOP Breaking Tension Arms Once And For All! (iFootage Spider Crab Arms)
    If you're like me and always snapping these little tension arms from having to crank them so tight to hold accessories then those days are over! The iFootage Spider Crab tension arms are by far the best tension arms I have used to date. They are so solid, lock together with ease, and can hold a tonne of weight for their size.

    You’re 100% on point here. These things are amazing! Definitely worth the price.

    This is such a smart idea! Holy crap. Like, normally everyone is stoked and amped and excited about the newest and greatest cameras and lenses and gimbals and drones and blah blah blah. THIS ,though… feels like a new industry standard.

    They finally cracked the magic arm code. I have the shorter spider arm and it’s phenomenal. My only gripe is that they are heavy!

    • @AndrewMurphyFilms
      @AndrewMurphyFilms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah definitely not light! But smash every other tension arm out of the park!

    I agree man, the amount of cheap tension arms I have destroyed before investing into a high quality ones is insane.
    I wish I had invested in a premium one waaaay earlier. I like the system iFootage has come up with, I see they have a car mount system as well as some other bits that work with their arms and QR sockets. Thats pretty cool.
    I went with a brand starting with Z many years ago for my premium arm and they were the only brand doing no-twist strong arms back then. Good to see other brand making the smart design choice.

      Man thats it hey! Trying to find arms that don't just spin off your accessories or camera is hard (if you don't spend the money)!

    I’ve definitely been looking at these ones! I bought some SmallRig ones, and they’re just a pain to use. You really need to tighten them down, and it’s annoying to adjust.

      @AndrewMurphyFilms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep! And if you put too much pressure in a certain angle they just come off

    Cheers for including the scene fearing your Nanlite mounted to the magic arm, would you say that setup is secure from knocks & bumps?

    • @AndrewMurphyFilms
      @AndrewMurphyFilms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! They are super strong. But aren't indestructible. I wouldn't use this if it was going to be bumped.

      Yeah hurts the wallet a bit, but extremely well built!

    i had one those arms specifically the black one, and i cannot mount a monitor to it. Instead of getting an EVF, i tried a monitor for a shoulder mount rig. And when i use those cheap magic arms it cannot hold the weight of the monitor so it flies forward. So this IFootage spider Crab Arm looks promising

      Dude i feel your pain! These are the perfect solution for this problem! So strong and don't have that spinning issue if you can lock down with those locking pins!

    How does this compare to the bright tangerine friction arm?

    Andrew at 3:30 what model are you using. It looks like a LT, but it has the red clamps that are on the MT.

    Wait a minute🧐. How did you connect the nanlite to the spider crab?

    • @AndrewMurphyFilms

      With a spigot

      @@AndrewMurphyFilms ok so I'm assuming the Spider Crab housing is a 5/8" receiver

    • @AndrewMurphyFilms
      @AndrewMurphyFilms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It takes both 1/4" & 3/8" threads
