    A true badge of honor is buying cheap gear and regretting it when it inevitably bites you in the butt. "Buy once, cry once" pops in my head every time I assess how cost effective my investments are. "Quality of life" eventually pays for itself.

    So I ordered Mid49 Speedball monitor mount, right after watching this video last Friday while eating my lunch.
    It came in yesterday, with a sticker, polarized sunglasses, AND hand written "thank you note", that said "(My name) Thank you so much for support and trusting part of you rig with us. Please let us know if we can ever help with anything else. Ryan & Elizabeth at Mid49".
    Wow. That's something I don't see very often with camera gear purchase.
    That makes this particular gear something special right from the beginning.
    Thanks for making this video, and setting us on the right track.

    These are the things that need to be talked about because these small pieces of equipment can end up causing tons of problems and headaches. Seems like a lot of these type of parts are offered by quite a few companies but all seem to have a flaw somewhere.

    • @CineDailies
      @CineDailies  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion, the Mid49 speedball is the least flawed, but I see what you are saying

    A couple things. Pick up some 3/8ths to 1/4-20 thread adapters, then you can get the SmallRig arm to line up with the mounting holes. Second, take a look at the SmallRig HawkLock arm. That one I find to be very flexible and saves a lot of time with attaching and detaching arms.

      @@CineDailies I got Neewer magic arms but when they came, they were only 3 inches longs, lol. I didn’t notice they were miniature. I’ll order some regular sized ones. I’ll probably go with Neewer, they seem to good products at a good price!
      I had a Neewer tripod and loved it. It worked as good as my $400 Manfrotto tripod, but it got stolen at a real estate shoot! Oh well!

    I've been enjoying the Falcam F22 series of arms and attachment accessories. They use what's basically a smaller locking Arca Swiss style plate to attach with removable anti-twist pins if needed. Have magic arms, monitor mounts, etc. Love that they are quick release. Been quite solid for me so far, and far superior to the cheap ones I started with. They also have a larger F38 quick release plate.

    Regarding the small arm that you showed off at the beginning of your video, you could just convert that quarter inch screw to a 3/8 inch screw. I believe small rig actually sells those adapters. It essentially looks like a hollow bolt that you can put above a quarter inch.then you would be able to use that small rig arm with the 38 inch screw hole on your plate and I assume that those anti-twist would then fit properly?

    I have a EOS C70 and EOS R8 and need to place a Lilliput T5 (5" monitor) Touch Screen over on top of the camera. No quite understanding what would be the mid49 magic arm type of device your recommending for this task? The monito is extremely lightweight and has 1/4" thread for mounting on base of the monitor. there are no anti-turn or twist pin holes to the side of the 1/4" thread. So having a magic arm with clamping gates on either side of the mount is the answer. so once you mount base to monitor, you have some kind of little mini vice like fitting to clamp the monitor in plaqe eliminating the need for anti twist pins holes altogether. Have you ever seen a 1/4" mounting base with this kind of option?

    • @CineDailies
      @CineDailies  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It would be better to get the Mid49 magic arms because it uses friction to tighten. Then you would need a cage for the other end mount.

      @@CineDailies we all pay for TH-cam now, either pay with our time by sitting through ads or with the $22 I pay for YT Premium. We come here to either learn or be entertained, not to constantly have products shoved down our throats. You looked just like QVC aka Home Shopping Network in this video, as does every other camera channel that I originally started following because I learned from them or found them entertaining. It’s a bummer that channels build up a little audience and then switch to trying to milk dollars and cents out of the viewers. Just tell interesting stories “bro”.
