I’d been using various brands of magic arms over the years without ever hearing about iFootage. Mishaps did happen quite a few times on set, classically when your monitor decides to swivel out at the very worst time possible.
I got the suction cup and both lengths of the these arms to be used inside my car with a Gopro and a Zoom recorder. But after 1 minute of use, I decided that the 11” arm would better serve as replacement for the monitor on the Red camera. I set it there and don’t plan on taking it off anytime soon.
The one thing that I don’t get, though, is why iFootage is not better known by professional cinematographers. We have a whole bunch of expensive manufacturers out there, but this little piece of equipment that I purchased as a quick fix turned out to be way more valuable asset in my gear.
Excellent review, by the way. Absolutely loved your lighting, color correction and sound design.

Thanks for showing actually how they work can maneuver around. It's amazing how many channels just show you the connections but never show it in use. This was very helpful to me and I'm sure others. I'm ordering one right now.

Very helpful to go through this so extensively, and show some examples of these magic arms in use.

Just bought a bit larger LT version. Exceptional build, and when you tighten it down, it's not going anywhere. My first experience with ifootage was the Cobra 2 and the quality is exceptional.

Thanks. Hard to find these accessory outside the US. Even the iFootage site doesn't sell some of their products. Unfortunate. Thanks, Stefano

Todd, you should try the ‘Manfrotto 244 Variable Friction Magic Arm’ though, matter of fact any Manfrotto Arms and clamps like their 035 Super Clamp, simply superb, slightly expensive but worth every penny!

For the LT. May you remove the cold shoe and then use the 1/4 to hook up to your tripod?

If you don’t have a 3/8 or 1/4 accessory mount on your tripod how would you be able to use this?Traditionally you would use a super clamp attached to the magic arm (Manfrotto) to do this. I own some of there gear (sea stars, video head) all great quality but not sure how I could attach to my RRS or Gitzo Tripods

You’d probably need some kind of clamp, similar to the clamp setup I show with the microphone attached to the c-stand. Or…you could get a camera cage and mount it to that.
