Yes, Sydney is certainly beautiful around the harbour areas. As you can see, the harbour has many coves and bays making it great for boating. The metro population I think I around 5 million at the moment.
Your video brought back lots of memories of my own arrival into Sydney. I travelled there to watch my wife compete as a member of the U.S. Equestrian Team during the 2000 Sydney Games. It had already been a long day of travelling by the time I reached Los Angeles to connect to my 16-hour Qantas flight in the middle seat, in economy, in the screaming baby section. After such a long time on the plane we suddenly found ourselves flying over land with a view of the famous Opera House and the Harbor Bridge right at sunset. After a slow turn we flew right over the Olympic Stadium with the torch burning before we touched down at the airport. It seemed a wonderful welcome to Australia.
@@Dawnraider Peter, you are correct that it was out at Horsely Park. I remember having to take the train from Parramatta where I was staying out to Blacktown and then get on a bus. Alas, no medals for my wife at the 2000 Sydney Games but nonetheless it was a huge accomplishment and honor to get to go compete (and I didn't have to pay for it). I did learn that when she is competing at that level that I needed to leave her alone as she has her 'game face' on. The last day I was in Australia, she found me out in the public area and asked if I could take just a couple of things home with me as she would be there for another few days. She then loaded me with three military size duffle bags. When I was checking in with Qantas the next morning I mentioned that this was all my wife's stuff as she is competing and the nice Qantas lady didn't charge me anything extra for the grossly excessive weight I was checking in. When I got home and opened the bags, I found it was all of my wife's (and horse's) dirty laundry.
@@Dawnraider Peter, I felt that Sydney and Australia in general put on a magnificent Games, one that you should rightly feel very proud of. Everyone was friendly and helpful and obviously make an effort to make all of your guests feel very welcome. I count myself as very lucky to have had the opportunity to travel there.
