Just subscribed. What an amazing video! I've been researching commercial battery blowers for our gardening business for many months and this is the best information by a long shot!
I think it would have gone over better if you had just mentioned specifically by name in that beginning that EGO (widely considered the best in electric outdoor power equipment) refused to send a blower. I have no dog in this fight but EGO being absent makes it hard for me to make a decision personally.
I have it and it's crazy. It's not all the way there on runtime compared to gas but it's definitely commercial grade and usable for such. I can probably blow off around 8-10 yards on a single charge when it's dry with it
I do want a backpack but I think for the cost I will stick with my handheld M18 and ultimately go with a gas option in the $400 range. I tested battery life last year and I believe 12ah was 24 minutes. My buddy has the dual battery M18 and it's very awkward. I'd love to see some other companies recognize the value of a charger like Kress offers. Even though it's very expensive, I don't see many landscapers making the transition to battery with 1-3 hour charge times. If you ran all battery landscaping tools then I could see a need for 15-25 batteries daily. At that point it would be cheaper to buy a $500-800 charger and ~10 batteries. Anything that can charge during a 10 minute lull or lunch break would be a game changer.
You should check out the echo pb-7910 it's within that price range and it's a great blower. It is pretty much the echo pb-9010 without the upgrade to filtration and few other things but it has the same engine which is reliable and makes ton of cfm. I have had my 9010 for a few years now using it commercially so it runs every day and haven't had a single problem just carb tuning as it broke in. The stihl blowers are sweet too I don't think 4mix engine is as reliable as traditional 2 stroke though.
Can't work in the rain with electric tools. As a 30 year Florida condo and residential landscaping business owner. It's cool and much lighter but I'd need 15 batteries to put in an 11 hour day running 2 blowers
I’ve worked for parks in Washington, haven’t used any of these but I’ve used the stihl bga 100. We get endless leaves in the fall, but for paths, walkways, parking lots, basically any hard surface I’d always choose the electric, it’s just so nice and convenient, and electric tech nowadays is good enough (for hard surfaces only tho) to get most of what you want. The stihl battery lasted a lot longer than i thought (maybe a little bit longer than a full tank of gas) but if you were conservative you could make it last a lot longer. For the average homeowner, electric all the way. Who wants to buy and mix fuel, have problems with the pull cord, the choke, the spark arrestor, the spark plug, the air filter, etc. when you could just pick up the backpack and press a button and have ALMOST the same power but just so much quieter
im in the milwakee system but ego is the way to go until milwaukee fixes theur issues. i see milwakee is coming out with a dufferent battery backpack in march for their 2025 lineup. disappointing i cant use my batteries i have on that new one coming out.
Batteries do a great job at eliminating the inconvenience of a cord. Gasoline however is not an inconvenience. It makes sense if you live in a backwards state and you have no choice. Everyone else needs to wait several years before these become practical tools. It's exciting though and I'm here for the ride. Great channel. I love these tests..... If you read this far... Go buy an Echo PB-9010T and thank me later. If you buy two you'll be able to fly.
As a commercial operator for 30 years, gas is a complete waste of my time in any state. Keep drinking big oils kook aid and simultaneously sucking at property maintenance.
For the average homeowner electric is the best, electric is just so nice and effortless for hard surfaces, if you’re blowing through wet grass though then gas is still king

To be fair to the viewers, not only are you mispronouncing "Echo" but it kinda sounds like you keep saying "Ego" which is a glaring absent brand in this test. I know, I know they "chose not to participate" but still...
Maybe. We reached out to EGO, they were in transition between PR/Marketing firms and could not get their act together to ship a sample. If we get one we can always run it thru our tests and update ya'll.

Kress is a fun suprise. Those batteries are pretty amazing and expensive.
Dewalt has one but they haven't put out yet
HEY kislux I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
Would like to see M18 forge and their M18 dual bay supercharger. Why didn’t we see which blowers are open loop & closed loop?
Was Toro invited to participate? Would be interested in knowing how theirs compares against the others- very interesting & informative- thanks
And thanks for the video! Although I'll likely never buy a backpack battery blower, i love these videos!
These things are sweet but the price is crazy. I got an echo pb-9010 and can't bring myself to spend that much for less power and runtime.
nice, too bad makita didn't provide an unit for testing, they have two models :|
We're going to a Makita event this week - From what Im hearing, Im hopeful they will have a better outlook on comparison tests in the future.

imagine that Kress 2 or 3 generations from now.
They're going to outpace green works unless green works decides to go full out. They need to drop a PB-9010 competitor already lol
I need someone to compare these at an actual job site or sites.

10 out of 10 for that stone wall man
Is it mortared in place?!
I love my m18 backpack blower nice little beast 😍
I do like that the batteries will run all their carpentry tools as well as their OPE tools. Very convenient.

What Is the CFM on the green works?
755 cfm
Eeeeco. Its echo like an echo from yelling at a mountain top

Nonsense - doesn’t take 2hrs to charge the milwaukee. Bear in mind they aren’t the best batteries or charging system that Milwaukee use either.
Not using the ego commercial backpack blower negates the validity of the entire test.
