There are hundreds of companies which have resumed business in Russia under another brand name and many are willing to return and start over. Many car producers that left are screwed. China has moved into the market in a big way and they're very competitive.
How are they screwed lol China is using russias big mistake invading to its economic advantage, most of what china exports is rubbish, especially it's EV market, in EU ports there are hundreds of thousands of Chinese EV's that nobody wants, because we have a choice and because they are poor quality cars.
I am Chinese from Malaysia. I visited Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Ride the Tran Siberia Railroad in 2019. Love Russia and the people are always Nice to me and helpful. I hope the War would end soon and I shall come back to this beautiful country again.
As far as I know, Malaysia is aiming to become a member of BRICS next year, 2025, which should mean more straightforward visa processes for travellers to Russia.
I still can't imagine if Indonesia impacted with thousand sanctions 😬 I think it will be chaos everywhere, because we are still heavily dependent with imported products, foreign made applications and foreign Investment 🥴

The people most affected by sanctions are ordinary people living in Europe with relations in Russia. Many people like to send money back to Russia and back to Europe. Holidays and money transfers are very difficult. I used the Finland route in 2023 but it closed and in 2024 I used the Tallinn, Narva, Ivangorod route. It took 2 days 6 hours just to get from London to Moscow.

So Interesting the Russian supermarkets variety of products and retail stores that we are not used to know that exist in Russia. Maybe you are not aware of this , but Russia have something that many in the west miss ,and this are physical retail stores , have been most of them replaced in the west by Online Shopping . And Russia have a lot retail stores that we in the west ,specially in America have never seen before that only exist in Europe and or in Russia. So this is an area we will never get tired of seeing . Funniest are the German companies (mostly auto industries) leaving Russia and now regretting their decision as it's very difficult for them to go back, and if they manage to do so, the market has changed so much they find themselves not in demand anymore. 😅

I visited Russia and loved it when I was a teenager, and find its history fascinating. I hope one day that the politics of division will end and detente will return, but it cannot happen in the current situation, with people dying every day in a terrible war that should never have started and appalling atrocities that have had no justice. Its important to separate the ordinary people from their government and elite in this case, but unfortunately it appears that's not always what happens with sanctions.

Your choices are either a tourist E_VISA (very easy to get online but only 16 days allowance) or a work or student visa. You can sign up for any university to study Russian and get a 1-year visa. There are a lot of schools, so you can choose an inexpensive one.

Wow, I am not surprised that Russian market is thriving but I admit I am a bit surprised by how ethnically diverse are the sidewalks of Moscow. I saw a lot more Asian and Indo/Pakistani people than I would have expected. Kudos to russian people for being open minded while also having an amazing culture of their own.
Interesting video. It seems inflation will continue to rise sharply in Russia. Hard to get loans with interest rates being so high. So much of the economy focused on the military industrial complex to fight Putin's war in Ukraine. Taxes in Russia seem to be rising sharply as well.

Your choices are either a tourist E_VISA (very easy to get online but only 16 days allowance) or a work or student visa. You can sign up for any university to study Russian and get a 1-year visa. There are a lot of schools, so you can choose an inexpensive one.

Thank You for the tutorial about collective-west's "punitive" sanctions upon Russia; it appears the sanctions have actually made Russia more self-sufficient, and Russia is well on Her way to being the world's leading producer of organic food; the sanctions did ruin my Russian Friend's eBay business, She was bitter at first, but She now uses a similar Russian site that works fine; Russia no longer trusts the collective-west, and has moved on from that unhealthy relationship. Wow, I am not surprised that Russian market is thriving but I admit I am a bit surprised by how ethnically diverse are the sidewalks of Moscow. I saw a lot more Asian and Indo/Pakistani people than I would have expected. Kudos to russian people for being open minded while also having an amazing culture of their own.
It`s not thriving. They have high and increasing inflation, low Wages, low pensions, a govt thats spending on war instead of building russia.
Interesting video. It seems inflation will continue to rise sharply in Russia. Hard to get loans with interest rates being so high. So much of the economy focused on the military industrial complex to fight Putin's war in Ukraine. Taxes in Russia seem to be rising sharply as well.
