The problem is that Konami purposely prints over the top cards each year to direct customers into buying the new stuff regularly AND shortprinting the “best” stuff so more product is being opened. Thats only 1 problem though, but it gets to the point of explaining fundamentel issues in yugioh.
In fairness, the Traptrix structures had some really decent side deck options. Especially when you can adjust the ratios on some of your trap holes, plus raigeki for a strong going second choice.
Glad they're upping the quality of the card print. I'll absolutely buy that playmat. Not sure if I'd call myself a Yu-Gi-Boomer, but I do absolutely love the old school mat.

I think the talker version is cool, but found that the amblowhale version is even better. Yes you don’t get the draw 2 but those 2 cards don’t always guarantee you anything. With the whale, it gives you S:P still + if a link monster is destroyed you can banish the whale to destroy a card on the field so it acts as an extra guaranteed interruption. The standard combo ends on arvata + whale + kirin in hand and like 3-4 other cards in hand, and if you have arvata or garunix in hand it plays through nib. The combo ends on about 5 disruptions + anything in hand.
I found this structure deck in a card shop in my country. There are only 3 left. This coming weekend, I will buy all 3 of them. I will use this as reference to build the deck.
The more research I do for my next deck build...the more I'm leaning towards Fire Kings. Sure Ninjas, Speedroids, Sky Strikers, and Plunder Patroll sound fun and exciting....but you get a little fire chicken!....and constantly blowing up the board is fun too I guess
3 ground xeno and 2 xeno meteorus is a good splashable engine other than Sinful Spoils or Dogmatika for Baronne and/or Chengying in the ED. Chengying surviving the destruction effects and being disruption in top is actuallly crazy!
You could also use True king Agnimazud the vanisher and Destruction Dragon to power up the deck. Destruction dragon is from legendary collection kaiba (LCKC) and True king agnimazud the vanisher is from the soul burner structure deck (SDSB). You won't have to change much and fire king monsters may give you bonuses if used for Agnimazud's special summoning effect as it counts as destroying them, you also get to banish an opponent's card when Agnimazud is special summoned if both destroyed monsters were fire attribute. Destruction Dragon lets you destroy 1 card on the field per turn, but if you destroy a monster, the opponent takes effect damage equal to its original atk. Which in modern Yu-Gi-Oh can be a lot of damage. You can also add burning dragon from age of overlord (AGOV) for fire synergy and extra destruction of cards.

I merely suggested destruction dragon as an optional add in from a person's own spare cards, not as a staple addition. Keeping Agnimazud in is the main crux of my comment as doing so opens big combo opportunities if you keep it in, as well as setting up your gy and banishing opponent's cards, provided you pay the cost of two fire monsters.
I keep counting 39 when you take out the sin engine and put in the dogmatika engine. For the one missing card I put a 1 for 1 because I really want to see that chicken nugget
Don't know if you know this but wolfs effect adding from graveyard states you can't normal summon/set or special summon the added card or card with that name. So everything after sunlight wolfs adding effect is illegal plays

Hi I’m new to competitive Yugioh and just picked up my own 3 fire king decks and I have one question. How do side decks work? How do you know when to add the cards?
It makes the deck more control/mid-range (like Lab) instead of mid-range/combo (like Rescue) when using Sinful. IMO it's not worth it unless you also play the Snake-Eyes monsters, while it pales in comparison to what it does with the new cards from Phantom Nightmare (Populus and Promethean made this deck tier 1) So this month i'm trying it with 3 Nadir and only Maximus, since Ecclesia/Fleur brick, milling Garura (draw 1) + Shuraig (searches Ponix or my 1 D.D Crow) + Fossil Warrior (can trigger destruction effects on demand). It pretty much does everything the sinful package does with the added bonus of getting Crow, at the cost of Extra Deck plays that i won't go for this version turn 1 anyway, by playing it with backrow. Also, it's one of the very few decks where Veiler is better than Imperm specifically due to the fact that Island can pop Veiler for a search if you bricked
If we're talking budget builds, I'm curious what the deck would look like pulling the WANTED or Dogmatika engines for 3 copies or Effect Veiler and one copy of One for One for both more handtraps and more ways to get into Ponix? Also, since so much of the deck is FIRE attribute, would Gozen Match be viable in the side board, if not the main board?
It's not about Gozen not hindering you, but how effective it is versus the current meta. It does nothing on Rescue, Unchained/Purrely have in-engine outs, so it mainly hits Tear (early on WATER) / Branded (LIGHT on Quem) / Dragons (WIND on Romulus) but even they can cheat it out with in-engine outs. This makes it go to the side. About Nadir VS Sinful, unless you fully invest into SP etc and run the 2 snake-eyes monsters, since we don't have Phantom Nightmare (the deck there becomes tier 1 due to populus and Promethean), you don't get any bonus so Nadir is perfectly fine. But you shouldnt run Ecclesia or Fleur, just Maximus and Garura + Shuraig + Fossil Warrior are enough (draw 1 + search lvl1 + pop on demand). That way you can fit in a D.D Crow to get if you already have Ponix, and you can play Ultimate Slayer or Super Poly since the extra deck is free and both Super Poly/Sanctuary allow you to go for extra deck plays during the opponent's turn. IMO here Veiler is also better than Imperm because you can pop it with Island in bricky hands, while it's also always safe in hand while FK struggle with mass removal (Storm Evenly etc) For an even more budget build, Torrential and Powersink Stone are quite good, the latter is secretly both a Skill Drain and Mystic Mine (field only) that you can easily enable by Kirin or the Standby effects of Barong/Ponix. This works very well game 1, even going second because you can play on the opponent's turn, but post-side you can easily swap them for Judgment (going first) or dark hole/kaiju (going second)
@@babrad 4 words: Nibiru is a thing. None of those decks want to be light locked, and one of the most common handtraps in this meta does just that if you Gozen them. That is the thought process in main boarding.
@@d.k.t.3380 so you go first, you get your Gozen, you have Nib in hand with an empty board (since you can't drop it if you control fire), the opponent ignores your sets and goes randomly for wombo combo instead of dealing with your backrow (SP is a thing) and then you drop Nib on them to lock them into LIGHT (also yourself), but you also open Island to pop your Nib on the field and get a search. Did I get that right? Why not play exodia at this point?

That's why i mention the case of YOU dopping the Nib because you have more control in that situation. TLDR; the trio of Gozen/Rivarly/TCBOO is very potent and can catch people off guard but this meta is so diverse they can easily backfire.

I think you bought european decks, my friend. European cards are a little bit thicker and more stronger in contrast colors, especially the foil cards. And when american cards get old, they bend inwards and look like the letter U when they are put on the table face up, while european cards bend in the opposite direction and look like u when they are face-down. I set myself face-down in crying position and I end my life.
The budget main deck you built before you showed the side you made from the 3 copies of the deck is only 38 cards, not 40 big dawg. Still an interesting idea though Imma try this weekend.

As a Dino Deck User, Splashing Xeno Meteorus or Scrap Raptor with Ground Xeno is can open up Synchro plays aswell

I built a version wirh sinful spoils engine...and it is awesome. A very fun deck for sure, tier 1.5 I woild say.
If you build it with dogmatika its a solid tier 2 deck for 60$
In the Fire Kings Discord most people say to just play Pure over Dogmatika as it makes the deck worse.
