Oooh when I finished University and couldn't find good job I ended up working at warehouse and was in a very bad place mentally, I would always go after my 12 hour shift, on Shutoko to drive in heavy rain. . . But then one day the rain stopped (CSP update fucked it all up for me haha), and my life started getting better then too so I guess that was a destiny. ) (I guess people could hear the sadness from my voice back then cause I remember that later when life got better, someone wrote under one of my videos that they can hear I sound happier, that's why my 2023 mashup has a song "Happier" in the background)
@@SHIZURAKUbro I’m so happy for you I’m literally in a slump as well and working a job with exhausting 12 hour shifts and ac has been my escape recently, but it’s not making me happy the way I need to be, I’m glad you found the real thing and doing better
I'm the opposite, I'm a car guy who's gone into more Sim as I have less and less time to just go out and Drive. It helps that it means clocking less mileage on my cars and less spend on fuel and tyres. But I imagine a lot of AC guys do eventually grow up and get real cars and spend their time actually driving.
I'm in this FaceBook group with AC drifting community and I love it when someone posts how they started drifting IRL after doing it in AC for months/years first. But doing it your way (from IRL driving to simracing), especially when it's saving money, and if you're also happier playing simulator, is great. Even if I'll buy my first car one day (hopefully soon) I will still keep simracing too ✌
I also came from irl cars to sim. I have realised that ac scratched that itch to go drive for me and my irl drift car has sat in the garage for 4 years. Bought another motorbike and started riding that instead of driving the car in my spare time. Only recently started working on the jzx again to get out and drive it. Most of the guys I have come across on AC in the last 6 years have been irl drivers that sold cars and got into sim eventually.
@@RLN13SI’m one of those guys that went from regular drift/track days to having a kid, selling my car, and getting my time behind the wheel on sim. Maybe once the kids are a little older I’ll get a track missile again
@SHIZURAKU as someone who does both it is more of an investment to get a sim . It comes out when the times are needed . (Needa warm up irl) , save money on tires 😂, it's evan stated someone took 2 in world champ drifting event by learning the map via sim
Played AC since 2015 but now switched to BeamNG for the past 2 years. Just loved how I can actually mod the cars and have a realistic cruises. The crashes as well is what makes it fun.
yeah beamng fucking slaps dude, such a good game. kinda sucks that it's so hard to mod, but the repository being fairly strict on quality is a really good thing, makes it easy to generally find the actual good ones. check out HBM studio's engine mods, they sound incredible. (rwd old pessima ftw)
I only got into AC at the start of this year but what keeps me coming back is how many disciplines you can participate in having one game. Drag, drift, F1, rally, GT3... so much to do I don't even have time for all of it. I'm basically just trying to get better at GT3 at this point... glad to see your having fun in Gran Turismo dude!
Yea that's pretty cool about AC, until you run out of space in your PC. . . And then one day you'll like to play something else and you'll realize you gotta buy external HDD cause you have so many mods you don't want to lose, but you also want to play other games haha. It's good AC can compress mods to free up space, but after some time not even that could help me, I just had to let some of them go into the lands of forgotten😆
@@SHIZURAKU That's more of an issue with Assetto Corsa as a base game rather than mods. You can't have one base car, and then tune it. Every change you make to a car has to be its own separate car file that's the exact same size as the original. I found this out while trying to make "Realistic performance" F1 cars. I'd have to make 10 different copies of the same car, which would've been around 50gbs. Ended up just using ballast and restrictor. If you were to download every S13 mod on Assetto, I'd guarantee it'd be over 2 terabytes for mostly visual changes and possibly sound. Hopefully EVO has a better tuning system where this isn't the case.
I think that the actual racing part of AC is more enjoyable than togue racing, I found that often many road cars mod has very good 3d model but absolutely terrible physics. While on track racing this problem is not so frequent
By "actual racing" do you mean those racing leagues like LFM for example? I never tried any league racing in AC, maybe one day if I'll decide to come back. I liked drifting in AC a lot though, but the tracks I liked were usually empty online (like Hayato Touge, Ebisu Complex etc). And yea some of the touge life car mods for example, are so often very badly done, that's why I kept driving the Kunos cars on their servers cause I knew what to expect at least. 😅
Yes, that's the problem with the modding community. It is all eye candy to deceive people. Jaskier, Baker and all those people who do Japanese cars with bright liveries and tuner house bodykits... They've turned AC into a photography simulator. Those cars look good but drive terribly
@@SHIZURAKU If he was referring to actual single player racing, I'd understand. Since most modders even from day 1 forget that single player racing existed. All these encrypted shitmods and we can't even change the physics, you're better off driving with physics from old mods.
Sad to see you leave the AC community since u were one of the main people that made me want to get AC so very badly but it’s ur choice and ur life do what u want with it! Excited to see what u do next on YT!
Yea for longer time I felt like I have to force myself to even open up the Content Manager, gotta try other games finally and I also want to do some IRL videos. Also none of my friends who played are active at this point, so I guess my time came as well... gonna leave the virtual mountains to the new generations of simracers/initiald fans 😅
i just found this channel right now and i can relate, i've been playing ac for a while and even with good gear i have rn i lost the fun in playing ac, i just got bored, now im playing iracing, or working on irl cars and bikes. nice vid sub worthy 👍👍
I like iRacing but I'm not in a financial situation to buy all the cars and tracks for F4 and other models that I would like to play with 😅 maybe one day. Thanks for stopping by 👍
@@SHIZURAKU honestly same for me but i only buy open wheels cause i find them fun and maybe only once every 2 or more months cause i still have irl hobbies to take care of 👍👍
The same thing happened to me. I wanted to try AC so badly because of the drifting, I even bought a wheel because of it. The game started out nice and went straight to modding it, even paid for some mods, then my game looked amazing, then one day all of sudden the graphic mods I had installed for some reason stopped working then the game looked worse than the day I bought it lol. I also bought the wrong wheel I bought Thrustmaster T150 and for some reason the physics on the game doesn't like my wheel and I struggled to drift in the game so I left and I struggle to play the game now. Great video man I wish you the best for whatever you do next on youtube.
@@Rosaslav Guess its gonna be like ACC where at first it was not such a succeses and then it increasingly grew with updates and now its the best GT3 simulator
I can completely understand your point honestly man. I miss alot of the people i used to drive with on ac. Personally i absolutely love the game even with it's headaches when it comes to content manager. But i also have a huge passion for photography and cars in particular. I miss the friends I've made through ac. Tho I can't wait to create more and memories along the way as well. Plus content making. You do amazing work man truly. Keep doing you. Cant wait for more amazing content
The thing that made me come back to AC was LFM. Before LFM, AC was more of a "toy game" to do stuff like touge and shutoko and I'd hop on it every once in a while to mess around, but with LFM I actually got invested into practicing the game and having actually nice races. Not to mention you don't have to deal with a billion mods, you're usually gonna spend a lot of time driving one car and track combo (and it's usually either kunos cars or mods of decent quality, not an assortment of random stuff)
Been at it a few months started to get boring, but then I discoverd LFM, if you're into racing it's actually cool to get into. Exploring other deciplines to keep it spicy and taking breaks every now and then.
@@poisoned9399 lowfuelmotorsport it's an online " league" free to join , you'll get a safety rating and ELO rating. races are divided into splits by skill so you're always against people with the same skill level as you. good fun
Literally just started playing like 2 days ago. I was emulating gran turismo 4 on pc with a ps4 controller for the last year or so, finally got a g29 and shifter for 140 bucks and assetto corsa. "Holy shit" is all I have to say. First time I've played with a wheel. I have not even touched any mods, I foresee it sucking up a lot of my free time
How you described the difficulty and frustration of getting ac to work sometimes is exactly what used to happen to me playing rfactor back in the day. Hours of searching forums and mucking around in explorer. i sometimes get flashbacks when trying to play AC 😂. I recently discovered carX and its refreshing how you can jump on and everything just works (usually)
I understand the frustration of just wanting to sit down and play but having to fix things first. letting go of AC to be able to do more various car related things is very understandable. Go for it! Take those steps. I wish you best of luck in moving forward. I'd love to see things not AC from you.
Yeeees I agree on that. The worst part about being lower middle class and living in a cheap small apartment is the lack of space... I have to always remove the wheel, shifter, handbrake etc when I want to play anything else or edit or just be on PC. Then when I want to record or play I have to put everything back, it's very annoying.
I started with AC recently and initially thought the mod stuff would be interesting, but after some initial testing quickly decided the third party element was going to become a support/maintenance nightmare detracting from the actual racing. Kind of like the closed system iPhone OS and apps vs. Android. Hopefully EVO will be a significant move forward.
One thing I realized in my life is that people change a lot with time, it's very normal for people to get fed up with a game, or they might have other important things in life (like in your case) that can also contribute to them taking a pause from the game. I myself have been playing ac since 2019 and I saw a lot of people come and go in my journey. The thing that I agree with you the most is that some servers don't really have skilled drivers anymore: my main thing in ac is casual drifting and tandeming and I just cannot find any good lobbies with very skilled people (some people suggested me to join japanese servers but I just cannot seem to find them in content manager and I don't really know what mods they use). I don't mean to brag or anything, but after years of drifting I would consider myself decent, problem is that now I cannot find many people on a similar level: most people have just started learning and crash at any corner, which is fine in itself but it's sad to see that most of the people who I enjoyed drifting with have gone. The lobbies I enjoyed tandeming in most were the ones in tamada, nikko, ebisu minami, ebisu kita, ebisu west, usui pass, irohazaka pass, meihan and redbull ring winter (this one with wdb cars, which are wdts cars on snow) but every single one of them is completely gone and forgotten. The only ones which are still kinda fun are lobbies in brooklyn park and tsukuba fruits line but they do get kinda stale after driving them thousands of times. It's sad to see the ac community die, I hope ac2 will bring some people back.
Completely agree with you here. I also feel like since no hesi/shutoku server is a thing, a good part of the community have moved to these servers and made the others empty. No hesi also attracted a lot of new players no very skilled unfortunately
im going to cry i didnt know about all this i stopped playing ayear ago me and you were probably ripping together at some point on redbull winter with the wdb cars
@@bencollins5098 yeah man those wdb servers were amazing, tandeming for hours door to door was so fun. Tbh I haven't checked ac for a couple weeks now but last time i checked those servers were down unfortunately
I started sim racing early this year. I have spent a few thousand on my rig and was playing almost everyday. Now I only get on my rig 1-3 times a week, since playing it everyday does get exhausting. I do not have problems with my Assetto Corsa. Surprisingly things that I download and install works well first try. The only problem is my skill level on driving and ability to tune cars. Whenever I race people online, I always get left behind. I try my best to get as much information as I can on how to go faster and the best techniques but I have trouble applying these knowledge in-game. I still play the game but less interested compared to when I started.
Oh I feel you. When I first started I was lucky to find people that teached me and others that were kind of similar in terms of skill, so we grew together. . . Then they left and I kept running the hills with randoms almost every night and I felt like I got much better. But once I finished University and started working full time I had only little time to practice, and most of the time when I played I was recording something like my MF Ghost carpack series etc. So I eventually became more of a "sim-stuntman" than a "sim-racer". I became slow and couldn't keep up with anyone anymore even when I tried, not even in cars like Kunos RX-7 which was my main. To be good in simracing you gotta put so much time into it, and driving on touges gives such a little reward (only bragging rights I guess) that I just didn't feel like chasing that. Now when I play GT7 it feels much more rewarding when I end up in top 10 or top 5 (don't have any wins on my record yet).
I don't know why your video showed up to me, but it fit as a glove ig. I started playing CarX on controller because I loved drift since I watched fast n furios Tokyo drift, bought the game, the controller and started learning it. Struggle in the beginning but then I learned it, time to find some friends to tandem with. Met super cool dudes who would teach and play with me. Best time of my life. Then, they went for AC... well, I tried it on controller but at the time there was no gamepad fx so... really difficult to play that game, because of that we (me and my friends) split. Finally I saved so much money and bought a wheel, but by that time my friends stopped playing the game... I decided to try drift with the new wheel and alone, well... wasn't that cool. There's so many car packs, so many tracks, so many tweaks and no one to teach me how to do that. I tried YT but honestly none of the videos were conclusive to me so I gave up. Shutoku got released and I tried it, instant love. I would see people following me and I would follow them too, I never actually made friends with them. It was random people who I would simply start to play with, on the server, and enjoy. Right now, after spending shit loads of money on the wheel, I realized that I would be happier (ig) if I stayed in CarX with my controller. What only makes it less painful is that I can join any random shutoku server, open Spotify and just forget everything else. Sorry if this is bad written or too long, my TL;DR is that in this "part" of your life, REALLY think about what you want, is it really necessary to change things? Do you really need to buy a wheel? Can't u just have fun with your friends w/ controller? Think about it because once you decide to "upgrade" your experience it's gonna cost you time, patience, money and a lot effort because the game is old, creators will mostly put a price on something you wanna (and will need) to use, which isn't wrong btw, just not enjoyful, and if you don't go all the way up in your "experience upgrade" will probably turn into something not funny anymore w/ a bunch of wasted money, time and effort. If anyone wanna play some "vanilla" AC or even willing to take the path of learning, feel free to call me on Discord (._chron) I'll try my best to keep your experience cool ^^
I stopped playing online once the community died and now I got into modding so most of ac for me is working on my own car mod and checking out the modding scene while doing solo seshs every now and then.
I totally agree with you on the patreon part. The AC community used to be nothing but free, awesome mods to enjoy. Now am i so broke that i can't afford to spend 10 bucks or so a month on a couple patreons? Absolutely not, but why should I have to?! All these steps I have to go through just to play the servers I want to play or not have my game look like absolute dogshit is getting really old. I never watched your videos until this one, but sad to hear you leaving the community, hopefully Assetto Corsa Evo will revive my love for sim driving and yours. (lets not even mention the morons that you're bound to run into when playing a public server nowadays that ruin runs after spending over an hour downloading and fixing mods 😅) Salut my friend!
The only reason why I am hooked is because I found a racing team I can touge with a lot. They are all very nice people and I have learned a lot from them.
AC is better for someone more tech savvy imo. It’s pretty much the same with beamng and even iracing to a certain extent but in a different way, (much more competitive). So that’s just when you can only really play together with people in arcade games like the crew motorfest or forza games.
Yeah. At some point in life there comes time that time is the more limiting factor rather than the money and then you start to appreciate things like paid DLCs vs mods. For example in AC I can recreate for the most part races/cars from ACC, but in ACC it just works out of the box.
Tbh i also started feeling like ac was getting boring, always the same thing, the same cars, the same maps. But then i realized that ac was not only a touge or drifting game. Racing with friends on the most random cars on random circuit is amazing. Not just high quality modele good looking cars. I also got myself into making tracks and its so good to race on theme with friends
FINALLY ! somebody understands my grief having to come back to assetto corsa just to find out EVERY DUCKING MOD IS OUTDATED. this is the exact reason why i have stopped using sol, pure ect. i only use csp, a couple car packs and play on about 3 servers and if not i´ll just cruise singleplayer. ofcourse the game may not look as good but is saves me a TON of time and effort as i cant afford to babysit a gazillion mods i not more in the future
This is so true, for me it´s fun when people mock rf2 for not being user friendly while at the same time they have been using hours and hours to perfec asetto corsa. They both have up and downsides of modding... Just waiting ams2 to evolve, cause it really has plug and play readines and diversity
0:46 Senko? From the hit series The Helpful Fox Senko-San? Anyways. It's a shame, but I feel the launch of AC Evo will make the sim community at least *somewhat* go back to AC
So real. All the random issues lmao. Load up ats after assetto and my paddles stop registering. I had the sun start flashing at me this week. Apparently I can't use godrays anymore
Im in the same boat. I have a house to maintain and kids to feed after long hours of work and only have maybe 2 hours of game/sim time. And its frustrating when AC doesn't work. I do have GT7 on PS4 and plan on getting a PS5 and completing my simagic rig just to run it on GT7. Its just nice to turn on a game and not have to worry about troubleshooting. But that's just the nature of most games when you run mods.
Its life things change. Similar to you I had other priorities I needed to focus on. Also I did grow tired of troubleshooting or going through hell just to have fun.
I’m 38 and I really know that feel… The main reason why I keep playing is because it’s just way cheaper than racing irl and, u know, u can’t use irl streets to race unless u wanna see your car seized by the cops (where I live even just tuning itself is illegal…) I tried to switch back from touge to circuit races and that helped a bit, I’ve found active and competitive communities on Discord but still not hyped like I was when I started back in 2017. I still also try to have fun on TU and KN touge servers taking advantage of the players I meet, really hard to find someone with a pace similar to mine ( like u said) but it happens, and I keep enjoying it. I dont care that much about pure, sol or whatever, I just update CSP and if the new ver has bugs I came back to the prev one (unless it’s strictly required for a server). I’ve never had so many issues with CM like you, just when I upload online servers list it freezes my connection for a min or two, but aside from that very few errors from mods. For editing vidz I totally agree with you, people just want reels nowadays, old good days with amazing AC cinematics are gone, I gave up months ago to focus on other ways to spend my freetime. That said, never say never just take your time, maybe we will meet in a server on AC2 next year 😁
i learned to drift on assetto back in 2019. was young, didnt have a car, loved cars and driving and wanted to learn. ive learned extremely well lol, feel like ive done it all. touges, comp tracks, drifting through traffic. assetto is just stale for me. even picked up a vr for maybe a difference but nope. i really wish they came out with a CM or something like it for competizone or even the new AC coming out. if they incorporate the steam workshop they really could have a masterpiece on their hands
I've been playing assetto for 2 years and started drifting and then tried cutting up and since then i've been doing both. Also got interested in track racing but I'm starting to get really bored. There used to be way more people in vc 2 years ago and we would just drive and have fun. Now sometimes there a lot of people but it doesn't feel like it used to. I'm excited for Assetto Corsa EVO but idk what i will do there. I have made A LOT of friends on Assetto but now, I never see them online (most of them). There's nothing new to do.
i would also wanna try GT7 but i have to get a ps5 and ps premium and it would just be very expensive and i just don't want to beg my parents to get it for me.
I feel like you on most of your points. I work as well, and by the time I can actually play the game it is time to sleep, or I am already tired. It should be a much simpler process to keep it updated with the latest mods. Like pick the mods, server you like…and then have them automatically update. I feel the reason is obviously content creators gotta get paid for the hard work they do, but maybe have some kind of balance where there is one AC mod server that is the best of the best…that the original game developers maintain, and those whom wish to contribute get a pay out based on the number of down loads, along with a rating etc. This way the cream rises to the top, we get the best of the best, and we could finally get content that automatically would update. Cheers to wishful thinking.
Over the years i got bored of touge more and more and wanted to do something else than playing AC. I felt like i was stalling by being only on touge and as many i slowly moved onto circuits. There are many amazing circuit focused AC communities From very serious to very silly ones. Be it gt3, vintage, v8 super cars, streets or some meme cars. 2500h in AC and still raising
Woow that's a lot of game time! how many years have you been playing this game? I have 700hrs on Steam (and out of those, according to Content Manager it was only about 305 driving hours in April, dunno how many driving hours I got since then, because I uninstalled it but I bet it would be now around 310-325hrs driving time) . . .
@@SHIZURAKU Im sim racing since late 2018. Firstly only touge for two years but then slowly moved out. I got annoyed by touge side of AC for very simmilar reasons as you. I cant stand shit mods. Still go back every once in a while but its at most 1% of where i drive nowdays. I have huge need for speed, improving and challenges. So joining team and slowly moving onto circuits was only natural.
This shit's so relatable haha. The amount of games I've dropped because of mods being out of date and issues caused by updating. Shit's not worth it. Thank God Skyrim has Wildlander or that would be completely dropped too. And for Assetto, I just don't play online anymore and don't worry about updates.
Yea mods are a pain haha I remember how I wanted some NSFW mods for BG3 and it fckd up my save and I had to roll back to older one that worked 🥲 With AC I just wasn't interested in driving solo so when I got fed up of bad mods I decided it's time to stop. Anyway thanks for stopping by and sharing your experience with mods as well ✌🏻❤️
I am upgrading my system this year and sadly I am heading in this same direction. But there are still other great racing games to play and I hope the future i hope.
I've played AC for 4 years now, almost exclusively online - and idk about all these problems either, even though I'm always using the latest CSP preview version and latest Pure. But maybe it is because I'm actually RACING online, so I never see all these POS drift car mods.
I stopped playing AC because it no longer runs on my pc despite everything i try, updates & checking files. I miss just relaxing on a drive but guess i will see what EVO is like when it releases.
@@Gawdzilla93 oh ofc. But at least for a while the game will be up to date with car models, shaders and features, which means that 80% of the stress is done.
Thanks for the video. I’ve been sim racing a few months and have heard everyone constantly referencing this game but gameplay footage and or reviews are hard to find. I’d like more tracks and content for GT7. Been burned by the last few games / devs so looking forward to a game with good content and devs that actually fix bugs and add content we want. Too much investment capital hedge fund type people running things. Good luck with irl cars.
Well the base game is kind of old, it's from 2014. But people are modding the game so much that even today it can look very good and physics are still great. I have many videos from this game, from virtual (VR) vlogs to music edits etc. There's a new track coming to GT7 soon. I think I heard it was in some previous GT game but GT7 is my first GT game so I'm really happy that they are adding this map 😁😁
@@SHIZURAKU Yeah I want to say I remember that track from GT5. The original Gran Turismo was the reason I got a PS1, PS2, PS3 …I guess I only played PC games the last decade but picked up a PS5 and am getting back into it. The sim racing community has come a long way, I gotta catch up
I don't play AC anymore because well... I'm not a good friend so I don't have any people to drive with and when I do they get sick of me because they think I'm crashing into them on purpose but I'm just a bad driver in reality and besides I've strayed away from joining Online servers even before I stopped playing completely because most people either keep causing massive pile ups or just are way better than me so it isn't fun
I find myself almost never drifting/touge/highway(SRP)/No Hesi because everytime I look at these servers, its always a jumbled mess of files I've never seen before or much less have much interest for. I'm sure its fun and all but I've only focused on doing circuit racing/time attacks/etc where I find my own passion for and race in communities albeit ignoring the "drivers" who are more likely to be upset at me for more than one reason. I reckon just having a group of friends to just drive around and chill is the best part of playing Assetto Corsa nowadays. Mods from RSS/VRC/URD so on so forth just tap a little further on how much this game could've been but can't be when compared to other equivalent titles that have these cars like GT4/GT3/GT2/GT1/LMP3-2-1/and whatnot. Though this is all personal "preferences" and never let irl circumstances get in the way of you enjoying games, cause that's the worst thing if anything.. Just let life take you where you feel is best and look into other genres when you're ready I suppose. 自分の幸せを犠牲にする必要はない 👍
i dont play AC to race. i just put some nice music on. MY VR headset make it rain and Cruse down the roads. Thats also why i play ETS2 i dont care for trucks but its chill as fuck to just Cruse down the highways with some good music and just enjoy my time.
Honestly I stopped playing AC before really getting into it. Which to be fair, maybe I didn't get a fair shake, but I stopped for most of the same reasons. The fact that it took me 3 hours to get it set up, and then probably another 5 in total to tweak and get working properly. I'm also a newcomer to sim racing in general and it's just not very user friendly despite being into gaming for decades and being no stranger to tweaking and modifying anything on a PC. I switch to ACC and GT7 and it changed everything for me. And now I'm looking at Rennsport and AC EVO in hopes that they will also be easy to play and don't require much setup as well. (Though Rennsport being in Beta, the VR stuff is a little annoying to get right, but it's STILL easier to play than AC.) So yeah, you aren't alone my dude.
I agree, some mods are so trash you have to literally spend hours to fix + PURE and CSP causes problems too, error after error, but after 6 hours of fixing everything i'm so annoyed that i close all windows and play next day, and even then play for 2 hours and new error comes up or my graphic settings changes by itself, like filter or pure config. This community grew cancer, don't get me wrong, but alot of scammers took place. I was a modder too, they've stolen my mods and called me out for stealing my own cars back. Which is very funny. Even some biggest names are on the scene who steal alot of content and claim as theirs. I do my own maps and my own drift cars and never release it, just play it for myself. Btw great video!
I took this game real serious about a year ago but after struggling to find real races etc its just as empty as every other sim rn. we need something substantial that isnt a yearly subscription plus 400 dollars in DLC
I've heard the LFM races in AC are good way to find peopple who wan't to race seriously, but I've never tried those so I can't speak from my own experience. Maybe give it a try, hopefully it will be what you needed.
For me, I occasionally get the itch to watch all of Wangan Midnight, since I like it that much. I'm grateful that SRP feels polished, so driving on those roads is always fun, especially now with RiZe's new 911 and Z mods, as well as a powerful enough PC to drive in VR. When it inevitably gets old for me, I can count on eventually getting that itch again. (watching the show again, but with my girlfriend - she likes it too!)
Aaay I'm also rewatching Wangan Midnight now! 😁 I even posted a Devil Z edit YT Short from GT7 on this channel the other day ✌ Daaamn you're lucky! I wish my gf wanted to watch anime with me. The only anime she ever liked was Attack on Titan and she didn't even finish the anime anyway 😆 She watched Initial D Legend 1 and 2 (movies) with me but she isn't into cars so she didn' want to watch third movie 😐
Are they not active anymore? I used to drive pretty often with them, because I liked that they had system, it wasn't just crazy mayhem and the carpack was fun, but then I had less time, and I would always come late when everyone already left. But sometimes that would lead to funny situations like in this video: th-cam.com/video/pd842otvDOs/w-d-xo.html
@@SHIZURAKU lol!! That video definitely reminds me of the crazier times in the server. Unfortunately I haven’t seen a gaya official server in months. It was so fun and challenging trying to keep up in the beginning. Once you could keep up it was the best. And the rotation of touge tracks made their server so good.
I switch over AC and Beamng every now and then. I've had AC for over a year now, I've been playing it in KB in the beginning then bought a wheel for it. Back then, it was all just togue that I did because that's why I played AC in the first place.. However as I got more into motorsports and did karting (recently), I returned from the growing boredom I found in togue through the track. Right now I only race with AI since I'm still learning, but it feels so good getting fast lap times, getting ahead of all them, just like in togue, but less of the narrowness and more on the wideness. Rn I have AC deleted to play valo, but that's how it is. I dont have a lot of space in general so it's always a cycle around beamng, ac and valo. I love AC for what it is, but if there's one thing I learned: Don't keep doing the same thing over and over again. That's why I got beamng, and it was more fun playing them on weekdays and weekends after school.
Ah I guess I need to try karting as well finally. I also deleted AC now, since I enjoy circuits more I play GT7 on PS5 and after I deleted AC, I finally installed F1 2023 to try it out since I have it for almost a year and never tried playing it actually cause I didn't have space on PC with all the AC mods and footage that I recorded xD
I have started on Gran Turismo I struggle to deal with AC and all the mods, mod manager, SOL/ Pure getting all the maps, etc and then getting it to work and actually enjoy the game. I have ACC as well, that is a bit better but still AC at its core. I find myself in GT7 doing my weekly races and sometimes checking out the sport/ online stuff. I liek to get in the simrig and jsut drive and enjoy. The drift stuff I want to learn, but the struggle bus is real, and I'm usually chilling at the bus stop.
Yeaa, drifting is the only part of AC that I'll really miss in every other game I guess, and it's possibly the only thing that might bring me back in future.
Yea lol I remember getting that as well, but then I found out there's option to compress all files in the Content Manager which helped solve that for some time 😁
@@SHIZURAKU oh wow I didn't know CM had that option. I found it but I saw that instead of decreasing the file size it makes some files getting bigger(?!?) lol
Not sure if there's something like that 😅, I would check but I uninstalled the CM and assetto. From what I remember it's in content > tools > compress. It helped me to free up like 50-70GB of space back when I played
I’ve tried this part of AC before, the drifting and the traffic runs but it get boring sooooo fast. And then I decoy to focus on what the game was meant to do and that’s track racing, then my problems faded, i enjoy the game way more now but i do think that it becomes boring when you do something way too much, like for example driving alone, and then you get to a point where you really don’t know what to do because you have no one to play with. Hopefully you’ll find your true passion in this game eventually, for now enjoy any other game
I feel you and have experienced everything you said … but for me I’ll take a break and go play gt7 for a couple months but every now and then the Touge calls for me and gt7 just doesn’t cut it …. I’d say give it a break for a little and check back in a couple months
I'm looking for a car to buy so hopefully I'll get back to driving local Touges IRL to get the fix when I need it, but if I'll get Touge cravings before I own a car I might come back to AC. At the moment though, I'm all good with playing just GT7, DIRT 2.0 and F1 2023 😊
Same issues with flightsims... if you don't regularly maintain your installation, your not able to 'just fire up' the sim and fly..... it requires consistent attention which is difficult attainable in a work/household life....
I love VR, just wish I've had more space to move around and bigger table so that I don't have to always setup everything and after I'm done and exhausted, I still have to put everything to it's place or else it would be taking up all the space 😅 Never tried Beatsaber though, is it a good cardio workout? I sometimes play Nintendo Switch Sports and JustDance2024 when I'm bored 😁
just like you, i exit ac, bcs i got 2nd car, which i wanted - e82 123d and sometimes i go on circuit to race or something,...many dudes like you said i knew went off line a start driving real cars,...but now after 3 years i am little bit wordering maybe i will buy again simrig :D
Also this is the very first video I saw on you channel :P At the beggining i thought it's gonna be like this: this is my last Assetto Corsa video... because Assetto Corsa Evo is comming soon!!!
just started playing and yeah some of the mods are not the best and twitchy but overall on a good day when everything just works ill sit dow for a few hours and drive and trying to learn to drift in game no ffb wheel just an old thrustmaster red legend but paired with vr its an experience and ive devoted many hours in the last month to just enjoying myself and learning. I'm glad you can look back on this game fondly and not so at the same time but yesa sometimes its just more fun to play other games but there will always be a placeholder for it in your library.
I agree with you sadly... Sometimes I feel AC empty. Yeah there are a lot of servers (drift, touge, GT3, Tatuus races), but every time I go to race, I feel nothing. Some online servers are sh*t for their requirements, lots of mods are bad or just converted from other game (without real physics) or beeing paid, which is okay I get it u want money, but man modding is not for making living..., community is boring (example reddit AC community only show PP filter, photo and error codes, but not great mods, great servers), for single player this game is boring as hell, career doesn't have content and some career mods have to much requirements. I try to enjoy, but I can't...
Main reason I dont play AC is the extreme bad graphics (not the cars but complete maps/surroundings, no realistic shadows), even with maxed out csp, mods it looks very old. AMS2 and especially ACC is so much better in graphics
I'm new to AC. Despite playing on keyboard, I've been having alot of fun on it. I mostly play on touge maps with a Re Amemiya RX-7. But yeah, you do make some good points. I have to agree that paying a guy's patreon just to change the weather is really annoying. My favorite thing about AC is the realism and the modding community. I love how can I drive Keisuke's FD on my favorite touge, and then I have to deal with throttle control (and much more).
I've been there as well, even did MF Ghost and Initial D series of videos here on the channel, but eventually virtual touge didn't hit the same feels as it did in the past. I like circuit racing more now 😊 But I'm happy you're having fun! I wish you many safe virtual tofu deliveries! xD
@@Tensentities First off, I'm not talking about the paid version of content manager, I'm talking about pure. I use the lite version of CM and it is good enough for me. And, who tf want to give money to a greedy guy just to change the weather? Something simple like that should be free.
My man @RotaryRocketFD3S don't you worry, he won't be talkin to you like that no more 😤 he can fo with that passive aggressive shit, we do cool vibrations here only
Believe me, my friend. You are not alone. This happened to me two months ago. I have been playing Assetto Corsa for almost three years because I love sim racing, but in my opinion, only Assetto Corsa has a competitive modding and graphics community. I spent a lot of time just fixing errors, installing new mods, tracks, cars, and repeating that process. Additionally, I created a TH-cam channel because I enjoy editing videos and making some cinematic content for AC mod creators. My time enjoying this game has become less and less, with most of my time spent solving problems, creating video scenes/footage, and the extensive editing process. As we get older, we become aware of how much time needs to be considered. That's what's happening to me right now. From 2010-2014, I used to play modded GTA SA & IV, similar to this situation. I played Ragnarok 2 Online for almost four years, and there are many other games I've played. Sometimes, we need time to just enjoy a game for a little while without any problems. Actually, all of this would be solved if I had a PlayStation to play GT7, but that's still beyond my reach. I want to be like those who can enjoy games, but my time has run out for now.🙂
Bro *"As we get older, we become aware of how much time needs to be considered. That's what's happening to me right now."* explains my situation so well indeed. Thanks for a great comment. Hopefully AC:EVO will light a new spark in your heart and you'll get back to creating great cinematics (I subscribed btw, checked your last video and it had very cool vibes). And if not then I hope you'll get a chance to get into GT7 one day. It's really nice game, maybe not as realistic as AC or ACC but it's a lot of fun especially in VR. ✌
damn man feel u even tho u leavin best game ever invented i hope i meet u one day on those mountains we like to fly through this errors of yours i thank got never had even after not beeing home for month or so thats so weird for me anyway do what you want but remember there is always one tougeunion server with 1 driver w8ing for someone to join him :DD gl hf
I am alive still just in case you wonder but i feel the same way i played this game so much that i got sick of it sometimes but very rare i take my wheel and drive but i just get bored and there are so much people just ramming and giving me a bad mood. Since i feel that way about ac i just cant watch videos about it but that one catched me in an emotional way cause we feel the same way about it. I hope that things will change in a good way but as always the only thing i can do is hope in this scenario. For me the game was a place to chill and have fun but it doesent do the job anymore.
Oh hello! Long time no see! 😁 Yea I guess we just grew out of these pants haha, AC was fun, I wish I could get the feeling it gave me when I first appeared on Akina, but that's long gone. . . Maybe one day we'll get some runs again in AC:EVO if it will be good 💪
Bruh I wish you could have my experience, haven't had really any of those issues but new cars every other day but CM lets me click install missing mods and it just works. F
I play AC solo, mainly nordschleife laptimes or sliding some good views maps, but it´s like u said, also besides the Gran Turismo ported cars and 5%modders , the game is meh, a TON of bad car mods, with ps2 sounding engines AND a HUGEINCONSISTENCY of physics , tracks are the same, they are not ready to good materials or shaders or even the change of surfaces, yeah theres an experimental stuff rn but XD , so instead of fixing car materials, handlings, change sounds or whatever on cars that the creator dont care, its easier and healthier to play a game like FH4/5, Gran Turismo or CarX where u can TUNE the car the way what you want and theres no need to learn 3d programs to swap rims XD , nice video man, new sub here
I still play assetto corsa, i've 200h on the game, sometime i'm bored of the game, so sometime i stop play ac for like a month or two, now when i play assetto corsa, i try to improve my drift and try new thing every time i feel like i'm bored of what i do, like sometime i drift on track, sometime touge, sometime i race, sometime i play on traffic, sometime i try some very old and hard to drive car on hard road or track to challenge myself, that's why i still play ac, when i'm bored i do something else in the game, like i feel free in this game, and when i don't want to play i don't play, because if i play even if i don't want i will juste not want to continue, i bought dirt rally 2.0 the full version and it's way harder but it's a good game but at the begening it's better to use low HP car because it's very very hard to play, but playing both game also make that i can do a lot more things and i think play not just one game but a lot of racing game will help to love every racing game by what every have that other don't have
That's similar, I have 300-350 hours on the roads according to CM and on steam 700, so I guess the rest of those hours are just me having Content Manager opened or watching/recording replays lol. I also liked to swap things every now-and-then, but many times after driving touge I wanted to go for example SRP and there was some error that I had to fix (sometimes I literally could install everything and it would not start because some car mod was fckd. And people on discord would just tell me "yeaah that's a known issue just delete the car and reinstall," and it would not help, which would make me frustrated especially if I came from work and had to google stuff before I could even play. But I'm happy this works for you, it also worked for me, for 2 years but lately I've just had enough haha. I'm tired, I just wanna click and play without issues xD
I created Discord server already, but I don't use Discord at all so I didn't even look if anyone joined or not 🤣 link to the discord is on newer videos in the vid description
i don't have any friends i play AC with but its pretty chill when i go around shutoko gliding through traffic with some music in the back ground
That's a vibe and a half.
@@guardsredgaming I don't need friends to play AC with. I just boot up Gunsai Touge , put up some Eurobeat and vibe.

Oooh when I finished University and couldn't find good job I ended up working at warehouse and was in a very bad place mentally, I would always go after my 12 hour shift, on Shutoko to drive in heavy rain. . .
But then one day the rain stopped (CSP update fucked it all up for me haha), and my life started getting better then too so I guess that was a destiny. )
(I guess people could hear the sadness from my voice back then cause I remember that later when life got better, someone wrote under one of my videos that they can hear I sound happier, that's why my 2023 mashup has a song "Happier" in the background)
Even if I'll buy my first car one day (hopefully soon) I will still keep simracing too ✌
to many cops outside that are beeing retards to enjoy a car for what it is :)
Agreed
beacuse phyics of modded tracks sucks , not cars.

Dont worry bro youve got AC EVO coming up!

What is LFM please ?
Single player ghost here with many hours in and still around...Enjoy your journey wherever it takes you brother!
i dont have any friends to play with but what i do is that i pick some race cars, try them on trackdays and just chill back vibin with music
Been at it a few months started to get boring, but then I discoverd LFM, if you're into racing it's actually cool to get into.
Exploring other deciplines to keep it spicy and taking breaks every now and then.
LFM?

Literally just started playing like 2 days ago. I was emulating gran turismo 4 on pc with a ps4 controller for the last year or so, finally got a g29 and shifter for 140 bucks and assetto corsa. "Holy shit" is all I have to say. First time I've played with a wheel. I have not even touched any mods, I foresee it sucking up a lot of my free time
bro spoke for all of us
How you described the difficulty and frustration of getting ac to work sometimes is exactly what used to happen to me playing rfactor back in the day.
I'd love to see things not AC from you.
exactly what you said, plus the setup takes up a lot of room

You'll be back. Just don't feel pressured to make videos.
Thats why i never played AC, no time for error or bug fixes or instalations. If i pay for a game it should be done by developers
4:25 i am one of those. i bought a miata and that makes up for it, i dont feel like i want to play as much in the sim.
FINALLY ! somebody understands my grief having to come back to assetto corsa just to find out EVERY DUCKING MOD IS OUTDATED. this is the exact reason why i have stopped using sol, pure ect. i only use csp, a couple car packs and play on about 3 servers and if not i´ll just cruise singleplayer. ofcourse the game may not look as good but is saves me a TON of time and effort as i cant afford to babysit a gazillion mods i not more in the future
This is so true, for me it´s fun when people mock rf2 for not being user friendly while at the same time they have been using hours and hours to perfec asetto corsa. They both have up and downsides of modding... Just waiting ams2 to evolve, cause it really has plug and play readines and diversity
you need to join some community dude. i quitted assetto too until I find a nice local community to play with and do a lot of race events.
I was once like you and came right back to ac
personally what i do is i get a massive map get a old benz and just cruise around practice driving its a nice and beautiful experience
I used to just drive around Kanazawa Iwozen in Kenmeri whenever I got bored (back when I was still university student). 😄
"ppl dont dig it the same way i do" straight facts
Errors really annoying… I have deleted AC 4 times because of it :(
Im in the same boat.
This is why i just made massive fivem server with all the assetto tracks. shit works when i just wanna hit some touge or drift etc
Its life things change. Similar to you I had other priorities I needed to focus on. Also I did grow tired of troubleshooting or going through hell just to have fun.
I’m 38 and I really know that feel…
The main reason why I keep playing is because it’s just way cheaper than racing irl and, u know, u can’t use irl streets to race unless u wanna see your car seized by the cops (where I live even just tuning itself is illegal…)
I tried to switch back from touge to circuit races and that helped a bit, I’ve found active and competitive communities on Discord but still not hyped like I was when I started back in 2017.
That said, never say never just take your time, maybe we will meet in a server on AC2 next year 😁
Yea I live in EU country, almost all tuning is illegal here as well unfortunately :(
i learned to drift on assetto back in 2019. was young, didnt have a car, loved cars and driving and wanted to learn. ive learned extremely well lol, feel like ive done it all. touges, comp tracks, drifting through traffic. assetto is just stale for me. even picked up a vr for maybe a difference but nope. i really wish they came out with a CM or something like it for competizone or even the new AC coming out. if they incorporate the steam workshop they really could have a masterpiece on their hands
There are many amazing circuit focused AC communities
From very serious to very silly ones.
The practice never stops...
This shit's so relatable haha. The amount of games I've dropped because of mods being out of date and issues caused by updating. Shit's not worth it. Thank God Skyrim has Wildlander or that would be completely dropped too. And for Assetto, I just don't play online anymore and don't worry about updates.
Yea mods are a pain haha I remember how I wanted some NSFW mods for BG3 and it fckd up my save and I had to roll back to older one that worked 🥲
With AC I just wasn't interested in driving solo so when I got fed up of bad mods I decided it's time to stop. Anyway thanks for stopping by and sharing your experience with mods as well ✌🏻❤️
he'll be back in ac evo
I am upgrading my system this year and sadly I am heading in this same direction. But there are still other great racing games to play and I hope the future i hope.
5:52 has to be the most funniest, but yet unfortunate part of the video
Beamng touge is my favourite, i really reccomend you try it if you havnt
This issue with mods in AC should be addressed in the next AC: create a modding workshop built-in and be able to download directly from the game.
i have been playing AC for 2 years now or so but never went on an online server so idk about all these problems
Why not? Internet issues, or you just don't like driving with randoms?
I've played AC for 4 years now, almost exclusively online - and idk about all these problems either, even though I'm always using the latest CSP preview version and latest Pure.
But maybe it is because I'm actually RACING online, so I never see all these POS drift car mods.
I stopped playing AC because it no longer runs on my pc despite everything i try, updates & checking files. I miss just relaxing on a drive but guess i will see what EVO is like when it releases.
Assetto Corsa Evo is coming late this year!
Maybe give it a try?
Mods will take time i guess.
@@Gawdzilla93 oh ofc. But at least for a while the game will be up to date with car models, shaders and features, which means that 80% of the stress is done.
@@tsr-gtr I'll definitely want to try that one once it's out. 😄😊 hope it will be good as a standalone game without mods as well
Thanks for the video.
The sim racing community has come a long way, I gotta catch up
i relate to this, heavy. i only play ac when summoned by friends. beamng has consumed me now
I don't play AC anymore because well...
I am your 1 thousandth subscriber :)
Ah really?
I mean I don't know if there's anyway to prove that, so I guess I will trust you! 😆
Thank you and welcome!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thats also why i play ETS2 i dont care for trucks but its chill as fuck to just Cruse down the highways with some good music and just enjoy my time.
dude i will gladly play with you, i aint the best driver but ill take chill drives
(Though Rennsport being in Beta, the VR stuff is a little annoying to get right, but it's STILL easier to play than AC.) So yeah, you aren't alone my dude.
it doesnt req that much to setup if u had someone with u brother
😁 I even posted a Devil Z edit YT Short from GT7 on this channel the other day ✌
Daaamn you're lucky! I wish my gf wanted to watch anime with me.
The only anime she ever liked was Attack on Titan and she didn't even finish the anime anyway 😆
She watched Initial D Legend 1 and 2 (movies) with me but she isn't into cars so she didn' want to watch third movie 😐
Man… I miss the gaya dudes. I used to wake up early in the morning just to drift the public server with them.
I also deleted AC now, since I enjoy circuits more I play GT7 on PS5 and after I deleted AC, I finally installed F1 2023 to try it out since I have it for almost a year and never tried playing it actually cause I didn't have space on PC with all the AC mods and footage that I recorded xD
you really should try beamng with multiplayer its just amazing
I have started on Gran Turismo
I struggle to deal with AC and all the mods, mod manager, SOL/ Pure getting all the maps, etc and then getting it to work and actually enjoy the game.
Dude, same. Kinda hate when the game says not enough memory, My SSD was mostly filled with AC Stuff
@@SHIZURAKU O god I saved up to 123GB lmao... now I have more disk space for another game XD
Yea I wish all these mods etc were out when I was still in high school and had all the free time 😅
@@SHIZURAKU Idd!!! 😂💯
these kinds of issues are what really killed my enjoyment of vr, especially for beatsaber. Its always so annoying.
I love VR, just wish I've had more space to move around and bigger table so that I don't have to always setup everything and after I'm done and exhausted, I still have to put everything to it's place or else it would be taking up all the space 😅
Never tried Beatsaber though, is it a good cardio workout?
I sometimes play Nintendo Switch Sports and JustDance2024 when I'm bored 😁
just like you, i exit ac, bcs i got 2nd car, which i wanted - e82 123d and sometimes i go on circuit to race or something,...many dudes like you said i knew went off line a start driving real cars,...but now after 3 years i am little bit wordering maybe i will buy again simrig :D
Also this is the very first video I saw on you channel :P
At the beggining i thought it's gonna be like this: this is my last Assetto Corsa video... because Assetto Corsa Evo is comming soon!!!
That would be a cool plot twist, should have went that route and put Tyler the Creator's "SIKE" as an intro right after I would say that 😂
can't wait for AC Evo
just started playing and yeah some of the mods are not the best and twitchy but overall on a good day when everything just works ill sit dow for a few hours and drive and trying to learn to drift in game no ffb wheel just an old thrustmaster red legend but paired with vr its an experience and ive devoted many hours in the last month to just enjoying myself and learning.
I try to enjoy, but I can't...
it will bring you back, assetto always does, just the shear veriety of tracks and cars alone will do it....and then.....evo....😁😁
My man @RotaryRocketFD3S don't you worry, he won't be talkin to you like that no more 😤 he can fo with that passive aggressive shit, we do cool vibrations here only
Car X Drift, Buddy. You are Welcome. We'll Welcome you with Open Arms, and we'll love ya.
A non realistic arcade game.
I want to be like those who can enjoy games, but my time has run out for now.🙂
Well said my friend.
Maybe try the old Gran Turismos ?)

Yea I guess we just grew out of these pants haha, AC was fun, I wish I could get the feeling it gave me when I first appeared on Akina, but that's long gone. .
I'm tired, I just wanna click and play without issues xD
reading through all the comments and realize that it's time for a Discord Server so the community can play together
I created Discord server already, but I don't use Discord at all so I didn't even look if anyone joined or not 🤣 link to the discord is on newer videos in the vid description
@@SHIZURAKU hahaha no worries
