Same issue for the Forza Horizon series. 3rd game isn't purchasable anymoee, 4th game gets delisted this week as well and then you can only buy the 5th one, despite it being the worst of those 3. It's like the new gta 6 game. It's not even made by the same people anymore. The new devs were in diapers when San Andreas dropped. They don't know what gta is supposed to be. I doubt if even 10% of the original teams are left on these games. Most devs move on to other studios or start their own.

One of the main 3 left becaise they wanted to make DLC for story, which was the plan from the start, but the corporate people at Rockstar decided it would be more financially beneficial to move the dlc to online. This means we get a new, younger generation to fill in. People who weren't even alive when sand Andreas was released. It's like, tell me all about 9/11 without you being alive to experience it. You don't really understand what 9/11 was like. Just as the new developers for Rockstar have zero idea what a gta game is supposed to be. I had an experience dealing with a flat tire recently that seems applicable here. The tire was going flat, was able to limp the car to a nearby gas station to use their air machine. But the air machine was broken, only there wasn't any sign saying it was broken not did it prevent you from inserting money. After calling a friend with a compressor to come air my tire, I went inside to tell the Indian guy inside the gas station that they should put a sign or something on the machine, so people stop putting money in a broken machine. "Okay". And then I thought. Why should the gas station bother fixing the air machine. Normally people drive up, but in a few dollars, air up their tire and leave. With a broken machine, they drive up put in a few dollars, get pissed when it doesn't work, and then leave. Why fix the machine. It generates the same revenue even when broken. And that's the problem here. Why should Turn10 care to "fix" this game at all. Devs are figuring this out. Why bother improving their games. Just put out some slick marketing that gets people to buy a shit game, and then you've got their money despite selling a broken product. Rinse and repeat with the next title. Why spend money to fix and improve games when you can just...not, and make the same revenue. This gets back to the use of short term contractors mentioned in the vid. Why bother having a dedicated team who cares about the game, when some rando rotating contractors can do the job cheaper.
This just sums up not only the Forza franchise but the entire gaming industry these days, it's all a cash grab with no care for the gaming community it's actually sad

The insult to injury is that GT7 has seemingly come back with the release of new updates where they added a campaign, cars that people actually want, and are constantly improving the physics and sound effects that make it a genuine racing sim.
GT7 now versus launch is a huge improvement. There are gripes that there's not enough new cars and tracks, but every update and all new content is free. GT7 is now, in late 2024, a good game. Not without some frustrations, but it's a genuinely *good* game.

@@vur2584I used to be a top level gran turismo racer. Let me tell you that they have completely ruined the game for me with some of these updates, especially the recent phsyique update. When you are trying to race with a wheel, some of the cars feel extremely awkward and unintuitive. I am not saying forza is better, by all means it is absolutely not and I still like Gran Turismo but tbh after starting iRacing I just cant be bothered with anything else.

I still listen to the Motorsport 4 menu music quite often and as much as I love it, its quite depressing thinking about how good we had it back then. The decline has been simply incredible, from 5 being little more than a graphics showcase, to 6 being generally liked because it was the closest to heights of 4, and just when I thought it couldn't get much worse than 7, Motorsport was released. The stubborn refusal to acknowledge what people loved, let alone reintroduce features has ended up with, as you said, the destruction of the series. It's like this game was conceived by people who had heard about GT Sport and never bothered to find out why it was popular (although not with a lot of fans of the old games). They just thought "ok, all eggs in the basket of multiplayer, but we won't go beyond just having a meaningless rating system, and we definitely won't consider what made Forza popular in the first place". Probably a pretty disjointed rant, but a rant nonetheless
Companies are so greedy that they are releasing bad games because they expect us to buy them anyway, like when they were actually good. They might fool us with 1 or 2 entries, but in the long term that strategy will destroy big franchises like this, gran turismo, pokémon, ... Years ago these franchises cared about making good games, now it's only about making profit. We have to make them pay by not purchasing these games anymore.

It's less the franchises themselves and more their corporate overlords and shareholders. Remember that it can be a lawsuit to not gain maximum profit for shareholders, and CEOs get paid off share values. The minimum viable product is the goal, and anything more is legal liability. Expect this out of every publicly traded company, and make purchases with caution. It's sad, but the way this goes.
It genuinely baffles me that despite all the “changes” and “innovations” made over the years, Forza still feels like it’s in the same place it has been from a gameplay perspective since Motorsport 4. I’d love to go the Turn 10 offices for a couple of months and see how much actually gets done over there. Because from a customers perspective, I feel like I’ve been playing the same game for the last 10 years.

The progression to unlock stuff was a great idea but implemented in the worst way possible, if it was made as a progression PER CLASS instead of PER CAR, it would be great, cause in endgame it would all be unlocked for basically everything
I appreciate the developers' attempt to finally give the game more progression again. I was one of those who found the predecessors (especially Forza 7) extremely boring as a solo player and longed for proper progression. Unfortunately, the execution in Forza 8 is more than flawed and the career mode is the most boring and uninspired of the entire series.
No, it would be nice if the progression was per car model, instead of per car instance. If you wanted to make 3 different color Miata builds, you would need to level up each of them individually. Instead, you should have been able to drive just one of them to explore all of the Miata’s potential in each of those builds
The progression is great for single player. Not so much for multiplayer and free racing. The progression truly feels like progression and not just “buy car, buy best upgrades, run it a few times, forget about it.”
Being disappointed in GT7 and then playing this mess afterwards, must've felt being punched in the gut then a fist straight to the nut sack. Microsoft really excels at releasing bad games.
It's why you just gotta take the jump into actual sim racing bro. Try ACC or RaceRoom or rFactor 2 or LMU. I promise you the grass really is greener over here. Ditch the sim-cade stuff and try out the real stuff
I miss the days Forza tried to compete with Gran Turismo. Because it pushed Gran Turismo to be better. While I think GT3 and GT4 are the best sims of the 2000s, Forza 4 is the best sim of the 360/PS3 era overall. Specially because GT lost its way on GT5 and GT6. Only getting better with GT Sport after the stiff competition of Forza 4 and others. Forza 4 pushed GT to get more realistic sounds, ditching the synthetic sounds of the PS2 games. AssetoCorsa pushed GT to have more realistic driving. Currently Forza lacks on graphics, sound (Although sounding good, it is very unrealistic, specially the cockpit view sound), and the physics… lets say it reminds of Need for Speed Shift 2… in a bad way… I’m not a Forza fan, always have been and always will be manly a GT guy. Forza 4 is the best Forza in my opinion. I’ll always remember fondly of Forza 4.
I can agree with that, but Forza Motorsport's lack of rallycross and off-road racing is what drives some of GT fans away. Forza is stuck in 2000s tarmac-only trend and never moved on since, while even the most hardcore of all iRacing has Trophy Trucks and rallycross as some of their features.

The biggest issue I have with every single Forza is that we still only have 90 degrees (180 in Motorsport 8) of steering lock in either direction... after nearly TWENTY YEARS OF FORZA
Since when x360 has a proper wheel support? ;) I'm not a best wheel driver, but somehow in GT6+7 i just works (to repeat after certain Todd) and on xbone it was small disaster.
@hamzerpanzer it's not a sim, so it's not going to simulate everything correctly. It's made for a general audience of gamers who aren't hardcore and don't have wheels. Most gamers might play an hour per week. They aren't hardcore like us. They aren't buying wheels and pedals. They are using a controller to drive, so the game is designed around controller being used and a wheel is converted from that data. But, if you have a pc you can change your steering lock and setup for your wheel beyond the options the console offers, and then use it on console. This is what the pros do. They aren't using only the game settings to setup their wheel. They modify the wheel on pc and it overrides the game steering lock, etc.
I feel that I am the only person who does this, but here’s your solution. Start with your stick pressed forward and make slight movements to the top left or top right to make small turns. It’s much easier to control the right/left movement if you’re using the top of the analog base as a medium rather than hoping your spring snaps it back quick enough. Try it.
When I found out that I had to unlock individual wheels sizes for each car I bought, I clocked out. Even EA wouldn’t stoop so low to kneecap freedom from the start of the game.
The biggest reasons I rarely play is that the single player is just not interesting and nearly every multiplayer lobby I enter has leas than 10 cars and often less than 5.
I had planned to buy this game before release, but the final straw for me was the nurburgring not being included on launch. Sure you dont need it for a racing game to be good, but for a game as big as motorsport to not include one of the worlds most famous race tracks on launch was just a really bad sign. Turns out my fears were completely true.
My biggest question: WHY DO THE CARS SOUND SO BAD!?!?! I still play FM7 because at least on that game, the cars sound close to real cars. How did FM8 make nearly everything worse? Why is there a huge clutch delay? Why is there no drag racing or drifting? Why are some of the tracks in FM7 missing like Dubai? How is the new game worse than the old one?!?! HOW!?!?!
Yeah I miss starting out with a Toyota Yaris or something and working your way from the F class all the way to R1 racecars, now they give stupid launch cars instead of money to buy your first car, and they used to make you go through all the classes and have you work your way up to faster cars, I miss the old days man

I've been playing Forza Motorsport 3&4 on my PC for the last few weeks and it's still better than anything out there today. Between that, GT 3&4, GTR 1&2, Assetto Corsa, Rfactor, NR2K3 Season.. what else do I need? What's the point? I still run Forza 7 on my PC sometimes but that's only because I was able to pirate it because Microsoft won't even let me purchase the damn thing. For me, Forza Motorsport 3 was a watershed moment, and I don't see another racing sim being able to give me that again. I hope I'm wrong, but I ain't holdin my breath.

I play gt games for 28 years in 2025 i have never been dissapointed with a gt title one thing for sure is that they were all quite different and each had its charm the least appealing one to me was gt sport ... sportmode with all its flaws i just cant be even bothered i tried it for like a full year on gt sport when it came out but im just to far into that loop were i know exactly whats wrong with it so injust ignore sportmode entirely 😂😂😂 . I wanted a gt like gt 5 and 6 were well at least the best things of those games and that just wasnt fully there on sport gt7 did a better job not perfect but im satisfied
Horizon 5 was by a European dev team. A team that was made up of mostly vets who had worked of the previous games, with some outsourcing. The new Motorsport game made by short term hires with only a few permanent lead developers, who have to start over every 6 months when the next lot temps get hired. Getting them set up, showing how the engine works, what there goal is, etc, etc. It really does show how broken the game industry is getting in the States when they want temps over loyal workers.
Yeah there is a good reason why I no longer feel any connection to developers or sympathy for when things fall apart for them anymore. AAA devs have gone from passionate groups of veterans to bloated groups of new hires on rotation. So now it's like who cares if the studio continues to exist or not, it's no longer anything with real talent behind it.
Pray we don’t witness the downfall of others that create within this genre, and that the Forza series receives revitalization from a stable, dedicated source. A constant rotation of new hires is enough to bring down just about anything, not even just game related.
And yet even FH5 was a huge step backwards yet again. I'm sorry, dynamically instancing the world completely ruined the game for me. I understand the map is bigger, but all they really had to do then was up the player limit per server. Now it's completely impossible to see someone out roaming and go join them. Everywhere you go feels like a ghost town and you may as well be offline instead. What a joke
@ There is so many things broken with FH5 outside of the map. Did you know, you can get all the way the final race of each race type, without ever winning a race. I found that on FH4.
Ive genuinely been disappointed in racing games for like 10 years. Nothing seems like its improving as a game. The campaigns arent better, the racing isnt more cinimatic, theres never story, the online is a crash lobby in every game. In a world where every genre of game sees improvement, evolution, and constant competition in their fields, racing games feel like they've been in the same place for nearly 20 years.
It sucks because Forza motorsport was what got me into racing games as a kid. Always a great time and the games are so much fun. Then apparently they rebuilt it for this new game and yet this game comes absolutely nowhere even close to GT7… GT 7 has its own problems, but this game is far behind in every way possible.
Forza peaked in FM4. There was more fun than the sterile GT5 at the time. But with this game, I just kept going back to GT7 and haven’t booted up Forza in a year.
15:10 I wholeheartedly agree with this. FM is by far the only online "simcade" available for PC and primarily Xbox. It’s the only viable option if you want to enjoy some track racing with a controller. Good luck trying that with ACC or AC-you’ll be at a significant disadvantage. This is coming from someone who plays both titles with a wheel. In its current state, the game is "fine." Some areas have seen improvements, but it still lacks features compared to FH5. The graphics aren’t great but are usable. Lobbies are fairly clean, but it’s rare to have a 20+ player session without at least one person rage-quitting.
My point being the general feel of every comment is that this new forza is rubbish, absolutely, broken. To me it looks like it has so much potential, it does things other racers dont do, its got the chase cam which is so basic, other racers cant do, so much potential with the game if it gets cleaned up thoroughly for this iteration, it would be amazing, we all saw the e3 stuff, potential. However many just want the game amazing upfront, no mistakes, no questions, ill stick by turn 10 on this one, against all odds, even if they shutdown they did it well still
I was a dev tester for the new game, I would I love to talk about it but, there was literally nothing to talk with the developers. There was so little being done that I didn’t even know what they were doing. All of this is honestly feels like I got ripped off and lied to for buying the $100 game
I just bought motorsport, while I don't race on a wheel or anything like that I think its very enjoyable. I have over 400 hrs in Forza Horizon 5 holding top 500 positions in most of my rival times and I can honestly say it's a great change of pace from horizon. I havent played any previous Forza's other than these 2 but maybe, just maybe, a lot of the issues people have with it is just them remembering the games from their childhood as better than they really were?
I can see where you’re coming from, and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. From a wheel racing standpoint, (and my shitty pc performance while racing rather than hot lapping) it misses the mark. Thats not all bad though. I played through FH5 close to release with a wheel knowing that realism wouldn’t be a thing, and still had a decent time. As for previous titles, I haven’t played them as they weren’t accessible to me, but the numbers show. If you get a chance, try them out. It wouldn’t be too far off from what you play now, and survey says you would probably enjoy them more. (Also, you haven’t lived until you’ve done some gran turismo license tests. That shit is legendary.)

I'm currently working in a game studio where we also use outsourcing. But, it's important to realize what's actually being outsourced - assets (vehicles, environment objects, characters, ...). Can't image game design elements/mechanics being outsourced, because it would only make things more difficult and generally doesn't make sense (maybe if you have some veteran game designer as consultant). You're leaning little bit too much on this and extrapolating why the feel of the game is different. While I agree with you on the "empty/uninspired" feel, I don't think it's because of outsourcing.
This was very well put together, as a long time Forza fan from the beginning (2005) Ive defended this franchise for so long hoping they would bounce back. My time has come, to let it go. I’ve been on ACC for the past 6 months on PC and tried peeking at FM with no reason to do more than just peek. As a game developer myself I definitely see how it all falls apart when studios don’t want to pay benefits so they offer short term contracts that lead to very chaotic development cycles. It’s sad but on the bright side, sim racing is growing fast and I’m enjoying this space right now. SUBSCRIBED

We had games like NFSIII to Carbon, Richard Burns Rally, the first 4 GT games, early Forza games, TOCA series, TOCA Race Driver 1-3, Race Driver:Grid, Colin McRae Series, CM DiRT 1-3, SRS Street Racing Syndicate, Midnight Club series, F1 Challenge 99-02, GTR, GTR2, Race 07, rfactor, GT Legends, Project Gotham Racing series, NASCAR games, Mario Kart Double Dash, Crash Nitro Kart, MX Superfly, Tourist Trophy, Smugglers Run, Rally Trophy, FlatOut, FlatOut 2, BurnOut series, Pure, Moto Racer series, V Rally series, Extreme G Racing 3, Wave Race Blue Storm, Hydro Thunder, F1 Championship Edition, Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix series, TDU 1+2, Driver series and so many more awesome racing games. Where did they go? I think racing games in the last 10 years have been lacking like crazy.
The Devs seem to be more obsessed with removing any valid criticism from the forums than they are with fixing the core issues with the game. They spend their time fixing what isn't broken while day one issues persist in game. Every new update brings a slew of new performance issues and content that was obviously never play tested. I have over 1200hrs into the game- not because it's great, but because there isn't another sim (or sim adjacent) title that lets me modify shitboxes and race them where they shouldn't be, and the number of 'regular cars" (non- super rare/ highest spec models) has dwindles with every passing installment. I am critical of the game because no one wanted it to be a success more than I did. I was the biggest fan of the series from the moment I started playing the first installment on my roommate's Xbox in Iraq. The latest Motorsport feels like an insult.

@@danielstokker PlayStation is at least 10x worse Bad services compared to Xbox services. Higher games prices, at least in the country where I live. Sony killed almost every good franchise they had, like InFAmous, Uncharted, Killzone, etc. Their attempt to make a Gears of war killer (The order) and a Forza horizon killer (Driveclub) failed miserably. Worse console overall, with no features like FPS boost or quick resume, and no backwards compatibility. PlayStation pretty much died in PS3, in PS4 they found their formula (third person emotional narrative games), which made them successful, and milked this formula until the last drop, now in PS5, PS fans aren't receiving even this, just more remasters and remakes. In Xbox, at least I still have gamepass, backwards compatibility, and a well build console with good features.
13:30 on that point about there being no passion for cars anymore, I think that's where AC Evo is going to take the reigns. It will be niche, not mainstream like Forza or Gran Turismo, but it will be better and more of a love letter to cars and racing.

The worst thing for me is I do 15 minutes of practice then enjoy the race with 20-24 people then the next race I got 2 minutes to qualify with 3 people in the lobby
the problem to me is, that microsoft tries sooooo hard to be different from some of sony's competing titles to the point that the company ends up just making trash. this is why gt will always prevail over forza. its ok to copy a little.
But GT7 was garbage, all turn 10 had to do was copy and paste forza motorsport 7 content into the new engine, but no they had to make it fomo BS with less content than FM6.

Yeah both Halo Infinite and FM suffered the same fate: -6 year development cycle -The most buggy and content lacking entry in the entire franchise -6 to 18 month contractors being the bulk of the work force -A lot of promises broken -10 year plan that's never happening -"Return to Form" -The store works though lol
It lacks soul. Forza used to have a driver level, car collection level, rare cars that can be missed but also found at the auction house. The career allowed you to drive all types of cars and work up to the highest class. This one is sterile and boring. Its only for hardcore sim fans where forza 7 was fun for everyone. They need a real campaign without warm up laps, collection levels with rewards, and driver levels with rewards to feel like forza. As it stands id rather play gt7, project cars 3, or forza 7.
Failure has little to do with the gamepkay and more with the fact that it is poorly optimized and most amd gpus cannot run it due to software and driver limitations. THAT is the real failure
Getting the vram warning while playing with graphics that make AC look photorealistic by comparison was criminal. I’m so sad that was my first experience with a FM title. I’m still open to older titles, if given the opportunity.
People are building up the earlier forza motorsport titles in their minds, those are not as great as people remember. Even at the time they were being outclassed by Codemasters titles such as ToCa Race Driver 2-3
I actually still play FM 2 to FM4 on an old 360 in my office....and they are better. Even on an old controller it feels better than today's titles. FM6 comes close, but that's it. The ToCa games were great too, but totally different type of games. Just as the first too NfS Underground games.
@Missinglink3003 I like the first 6 Forza Motorsport titles, I just don't think they have ever been top of their class from a physics perspective. To me they feel like there is too little traction. I know many consider this realistic, but I imagine real race drivers don't feel like they're trying to avoid spilling an open container of soup that's sitting in the passenger seat, which is what the FM physics make me feel like. I consider ToCa 3 just as "realistic" but it doesn't make me feel that way
Forza 4 was the pinnacle of the series. Forza 6 was the best on the modern xbox platform. I think that top level executives killed the game by making repeated decisions that demotivated management and developers alike and anyone that was good left.
I blame poor progression on the “popcorn generation”. If young players these days aren’t getting instant gratification then they won’t play it. Old souls like us are used to the need for speed underground days where you had to put blood, sweat and tears into getting the cars and upgrades you wanted. It was so satisfying and fulfilling in the end. Now you just get a Bugatti and 400 billion credits right off the bat. That coupled with the lack of a goal (horizon 4/5) has made the game stale and boring…….I mean need for speed payback is better than most modern Forza games lol.
I just bought fm8 because it was 50% off and i got a wheel for Christmas, the game feels pretty hollow, but improved a lot of the aweful user experience issues i had with fm7. And while the career mode is pretty standard boring, at least I haven't had to race any atvs to progress to the next series. Such a shame in general, having played them all except 6, this one by far has the worst audio. In fm3, the exhaust upgrade would dirastically change each vehicle. You can tell they just don't give a shit anymore.
If your interested in the simulation or the sport, and this is assuming your on xbox, assetto corsa competizione should be on your list of things to try with that wheel. If you like more street car stuff, or want to see more than just one series of racing, then I’d hold off or catch it on a sale. Happy racing. Hope you get to enjoy that wheel on a better game soon!

At the same time you have to give them credit for still releasing games very few actually care and most if not all big puplishers won't bother with at all. Age of Empires 4, Flight Simulator, Psychonauts 2, or doing remasters and re-releases of Golden Eye 007 (by a main competitor) Age of Mythology, The Bard's Tale etc. etc. etc. Putting some of the biggest releases AT release on game pass. Making plenty of Xbox games availible on PC for years by now. Sure you could argue PC gaming is also their platform in a way. I LOVED GranTurismo 5, still waiting for a PC version of any GranTurismo title. Honestly I see more love for gaming at Microsoft/Xbox than with UbiSoft, Blizzard, Bethesda, EA and what not.
In gaming nowadays, we expect and want more than what is possible. When we don’t get it we look for somewhere to complain. Even when the best of the best and the only companies making the kind of game is being bashed for the ground, its shows how entitled we think we can be as a consumer. The truth is with cross platform niches became even more niche, and racing games aren’t as popular as they once were. Especially with console exclusivity out the window you’re not forced to play one racing game. It didn’t get worse, our interest went elsewhere where and we hav ego be real about that. It’s called growing up a from being a kid.
If you're on Xbox, just play Assetto Corsa Competizione instead. Way cheaper, more realistic, real racing, cross-play online and on Series X it even looks better in many ways. And those sounds.
Amen, but just having gt cars is a hard sale for most. For an enthusiast, it should be an instant buy or permanent switch. Can’t recommend it enough in that regard.
To be honest. Even being a GT7 player, i expected awesome things with Forza Motorsport, when i saw the Trailer i wqs excited and how it would be. But the final dissapointed me, more than GT7 (Only bad things was micro but other was OK not good, not bad) it make me have Turn 10 like the worst of the worst. It's unbeliable that Forza Motorsports maked promises and alot of things and features that step up like a Simulator and not even a Simcade game. But no, they stayed in the same thing without fight against the kings (Assetto Corsa Competizione, Rfactor2, Iracing, Automobilista 2 and others) but preffered stayed fighting against GT7 i mean... Holy God, really? Made from the Ground and not even these updates still having flaws, im glad they make the game more enjoyable but no, it's not Next Gen and still not being a Next Gen game even having those updates.
6 weeks before the game came out and weeks before thebtdailer i read a article that made perfect ssnse on why the new forza was gonne be absolutely terrible borh in gameplay amd visual there was even buzz in the commu itu about these facts and still people bought it knowing this
For now, until ACE releases, GT7 is the king. The single player campaign is phenomenal. They teach you about the history and significance of the cars that have released. GT7 is what FM4 was. A game for the car enthusiasts out there. There is no more passion remaining from Turn10. They do not care about car enthusiasts. They stopped caring after FM5 and after Forza Horizon became a money generating pit.
To add to this, it's pathetic how bad the interiors and exteriors of the cars are in FM. It's so fucking cheap looking. Meanwhile, you get on GT7 and the attention to detail on and inside the cars is insane. Actual parts numbers can be found. Correct textures can be seen. Polyphony care when it comes to details. No race track should EVER look like it's flooded. That's not how they look when being raced on.
Personally, if GT7 had some parts of GT sport and wasn’t locked to PS, I’d be all over it still. However, I would have never enjoyed racing without those damn license tests and the retelling of legendary accomplishments in the history of motorsport. GT transcends being a game as it’s a gateway to a hobby that many will find passion in, and it’s made that a clear intention. FM gives you a forced tutorial, but (correct me if I’m wrong please) it’s not going to tell you what a late apex is then test you until you’ve proven you can replicate that line within the tolerance of time. Pray we see newer titles follow suit, for everyone’s sake.
If GT7 was on PC I would never touch this turd ever again but luckily Assetto Corsa Evo is coming out soon so I won't have to play this garbage anymore. This is a perfect example of how elites (CEOs, politicians, etc.) think they are smarter than everyone around and are the sole reason for the success of their company. But the truth is good employees and hard-working people are more important. Microsoft thought they can save money on devs by outsourcing but instead, they killed the game. DEI is also responsible for the death of many great studios.
I enjoyed the video but unfortunately I have to leave a dislike. This is a solid critique and I understand the frustration as being a longtime forza fan myself, however there is no need to be hateful to other groups while expressing this frustration.
I don't really understand the people who still defends this game. Like, their whole reasoning behind Motorsport's flaws is that they haven't experience said flaws, and to me is just sad how this entire thing has unravelled. Is this really the standard behind the industry? Just to conform with whatever crap the people behind it just come with? They've sacrificed their entire fanbase and credibility to win what exactly? I simply don't understand, and it doesn't matter anyways because the damage is already done. There's no recovery from this.
I just looked into it the first time these days and it seems very different to a year ago. Much better AI behaviour, better collision penalty, raytracing and high res textures, in general it runs smooth and looks and feels incredible to drive. It still has shortcomings. and imo will keep them like boring career more..etc Pad control is very well done and new tracks and cars that were missing are added. its still for from perfect and not designed to be ultra realistic with fewer rounds to drive but thats what makes it fun. I recommend trying it out again.
@@listrahtes Yeah, I'm aware of the fact that the game, unequivocally, had a big improvement considering the status where the game was originally launched. however, is this really aceptable anyways? they had more than enough years to make the game, or rather, to make an aceptable product. I know that the developers aren't the ones to blame on this situation, they obviously want to make the best game possible, and they've shown some progress with the last couple of updates, but that's not the focus. To me, more than the disaster of the game, the worst were the lies and their shitty tactics to promote their product. Anyways, it's sad that the only few things aceptable from this game is or either recycled, improved via hardware, or features that should've been since day one.
@@JossielB-d9k agree with you 100% I think the main problem Turn10 and other AAA companies face is that the original creative and dedicated staff has now left and f.e. with EA or Ubi DEI hires replace these people. They are in general far less talented, entitled and simply not really interested in the product. You see that with FM8 everywhere that the love for the product is gone now. Tripple A faces a huge challenge in going back hiring the most talented people and actually giving them creative freedom. Sadly I dont see that happening which is why most AAA studios turn into mediocre short term shareholder value obsessed dumps. Ubi just has obliterated their value in a relative short time period. With FM8 the excellent controller support and now smooth simulation gameplay combined with less time invest then lets say iracing or ACC gives it its niche and imo for people who just want to have a race from time to time but with a realistic simulation touch this is now a very good game. 2025 will be the decider about Forzas future as so many strong competitors will come out.

I dont really know why people bash on forza horizon 5 so much, i mean guys they really went the extra mile for us they changed the car sounds some of the sound GODLY now, not only that but exhausts now change the cars audio as well and yeah the map may not be watt we expected, and yeah we still have cars constantly being given out, and progression is somewhat non existant, i still had fun though... like even when the game came out on day 1 i never really saw it as a thing to be criticized all that much, its FORZA!! you know!!! Forza i know watt to expect with a forza horizon title, however nothing prepared me for the absolutely devastating blow that is this game so bad that i had to ask for a refund. At least Forza horizon 5 you can tell the team actually listened to criticism from the past and worked hard to fix it and make it right, not to mention on fidelity mode on an xbox series X this game is absolutely gorgeous man, even more beautiful then this... this fiasco of a game i dont even know what to call this
Opinions may differ, but Microsoft should gives Forza Motorsport a break and revives Project Gotham Racing or Midtown Madness. I'm sick of sim racing games now.
I bought a steering wheel and pedals to play Forza. After a few weeks of really hating the physics, I bought Assetto. The physics are infinitely better and the cars more fun to drive because it actually feels like my inputs are connected to the game.
I just played it for the first time yesterday, and was really disappointed and annoyed. The amount of hand-holding and forced tutorials is a complete turn off. Also don't like the progression system. Forcing me to do these races in the beginning and only giving me the choice between 3 cars they don't even show me the statistics of, then push you into the cup. As someone who has played through GT4 and GT5 recently, the lack of freedom to how to progress, lack of style, hand-holding, car opponents that crash into you and heavy steering with controller has already made me doubt if I'll continue to play the game, even if I have "free access" to it on game pass.
When I bought a 360 back in the day, I bought all the first party exclusives, like Halo, Gears, and Fable, and they were good or great, but Forza 4...Now that game, impressed me, and is the only 1st party xbox 360 exclusive that got a 9/10 score for me. These days, it looks like all the 1st party xbox stuff have become shells of what they used to be. Too bad.
The biggest issue to me is the handling. Every car is like driving on ice, i can barely feel the tire is on its limit. Cars are always understeer, but when it oversteer is so hard to save. Maybe just me, it's hard to correct the racing line by using the controller. I have played multiple racing games by using controller, including old Motorsports. What i can say is this is the worst experience i have ever had in whole Forza franchise.
yeah fm8 has whatever controller "assists" hard coded into the game. so even when youre playing with everything pro and unassisted settings, youre still getting speed sensitive steering , which leads to the chronic understeer from controllers, and if you somehow oversteer, they actually give you full steering lock, but only in the countersteer direction. so in every turn, while on controller, you'll have maybe 20% of your full steering lock going into the turn, and then trying to save a slide requires you to recalibrate your brain for 100% steering lock in the opposite direction, which youll probably over correct for, meaning youre now going out of the turn, again with 20% of your steering lock. its such a dumb system, made for such a specific style of driving. and when people tell me "you gotta tune the cars to make them drive well" i tune it out, because i shouldnt have to tune a car to get it to behave somewhere in the realm of actual reality.
As a gamer who studied how make games. I don't usually cringe or complain about any games, knowing what goes into making a game. But I tried to give FM many chances to be better or improve with updates, but this game really keeps disappointing. And I am shocked to see that even you get the VRAM pop up before the start of the race, I can understand that I just have a 4gb of VRAM, but that totally baffled me. I love sim racing and have been playing on PC since 25 years. And thank GOD I finally got PS and GT7 is the first game that I am happy playing on it.
FM made my pc feel like a toaster. Couldn’t ever hit a steady 60 with other cars on the field. Thankful AC, with an optional healthy dose of mods, runs well and satiates that itch every time.
The career, penalty system and AI are still shit I'll give you that, but to say that the game hasn't changed in a year and FM7 has more features is insane. The glitches seen at the start of the video are not representative of the game (or maybe you are the unluckiest person in the world); the physics are definitely not the same as the previous game, speaking from personal experience they are much better; the graphics and audio are being worked on, albeit very slowly so not really a thing they should be praised for (but it is changing!). In my opinion there's still hope, it isn't all lost. I know people like you won't come back to the game, for good reasons, but I wrote this comment just to give more information to those who may still play.

Iv made the switch to gran turismo 7.... by far the best move iv made. What an absolute flip fm / fm8 has been / is. I still love the horizon series even though 4 and 5 have gotten boring. But it's not just games.. its consoles too. Ps5 hands down runs rings around the xbox series x. Iv i switched to xbox years ago. With nearly every game been cross play. Iv made the switch back to ps. Just keeping my xbox for their exclusives. But forza motorsport has been the biggest failure in forza history. Absolute flop of a game. Seriosuly upsetting

I had an experience dealing with a flat tire recently that seems applicable here.
The tire was going flat, was able to limp the car to a nearby gas station to use their air machine. But the air machine was broken, only there wasn't any sign saying it was broken not did it prevent you from inserting money.
After calling a friend with a compressor to come air my tire, I went inside to tell the Indian guy inside the gas station that they should put a sign or something on the machine, so people stop putting money in a broken machine. "Okay".
And then I thought. Why should the gas station bother fixing the air machine. Normally people drive up, but in a few dollars, air up their tire and leave. With a broken machine, they drive up put in a few dollars, get pissed when it doesn't work, and then leave.
Why fix the machine. It generates the same revenue even when broken.
And that's the problem here. Why should Turn10 care to "fix" this game at all. Devs are figuring this out. Why bother improving their games. Just put out some slick marketing that gets people to buy a shit game, and then you've got their money despite selling a broken product. Rinse and repeat with the next title. Why spend money to fix and improve games when you can just...not, and make the same revenue.
This gets back to the use of short term contractors mentioned in the vid. Why bother having a dedicated team who cares about the game, when some rando rotating contractors can do the job cheaper.
This just sums up not only the Forza franchise but the entire gaming industry these days, it's all a cash grab with no care for the gaming community it's actually sad

The insult to injury is that GT7 has seemingly come back with the release of new updates where they added a campaign, cars that people actually want, and are constantly improving the physics and sound effects that make it a genuine racing sim.
Yep! Been playing it these past few months and genuinely impressed at how far the games come!
GT7 now versus launch is a huge improvement. There are gripes that there's not enough new cars and tracks, but every update and all new content is free. GT7 is now, in late 2024, a good game. Not without some frustrations, but it's a genuinely *good* game.
Gran Turismo...where every car handles and brakes like a semi truck, no thanks.

@@vur2584I used to be a top level gran turismo racer. Let me tell you that they have completely ruined the game for me with some of these updates, especially the recent phsyique update. When you are trying to race with a wheel, some of the cars feel extremely awkward and unintuitive. I am not saying forza is better, by all means it is absolutely not and I still like Gran Turismo but tbh after starting iRacing I just cant be bothered with anything else.
Even in the smaller details, the developers completely fucked it up. Fr; who the hell made the decision that the Lotus Emira belonged with the Sport GT cars???
I still listen to the Motorsport 4 menu music quite often and as much as I love it, its quite depressing thinking about how good we had it back then. The decline has been simply incredible, from 5 being little more than a graphics showcase, to 6 being generally liked because it was the closest to heights of 4, and just when I thought it couldn't get much worse than 7, Motorsport was released.
The stubborn refusal to acknowledge what people loved, let alone reintroduce features has ended up with, as you said, the destruction of the series.
It's like this game was conceived by people who had heard about GT Sport and never bothered to find out why it was popular (although not with a lot of fans of the old games). They just thought "ok, all eggs in the basket of multiplayer, but we won't go beyond just having a meaningless rating system, and we definitely won't consider what made Forza popular in the first place".

Years ago these franchises cared about making good games, now it's only about making profit. We have to make them pay by not purchasing these games anymore.

It's less the franchises themselves and more their corporate overlords and shareholders.
Remember that it can be a lawsuit to not gain maximum profit for shareholders, and CEOs get paid off share values.
The minimum viable product is the goal, and anything more is legal liability.
Expect this out of every publicly traded company, and make purchases with caution. It's sad, but the way this goes.
It genuinely baffles me that despite all the “changes” and “innovations” made over the years, Forza still feels like it’s in the same place it has been from a gameplay perspective since Motorsport 4.
I’d love to go the Turn 10 offices for a couple of months and see how much actually gets done over there. Because from a customers perspective, I feel like I’ve been playing the same game for the last 10 years.

The progression to unlock stuff was a great idea but implemented in the worst way possible, if it was made as a progression PER CLASS instead of PER CAR, it would be great, cause in endgame it would all be unlocked for basically everything
I appreciate the developers' attempt to finally give the game more progression again. I was one of those who found the predecessors (especially Forza 7) extremely boring as a solo player and longed for proper progression. Unfortunately, the execution in Forza 8 is more than flawed and the career mode is the most boring and uninspired of the entire series.
No, it would be nice if the progression was per car model, instead of per car instance. If you wanted to make 3 different color Miata builds, you would need to level up each of them individually. Instead, you should have been able to drive just one of them to explore all of the Miata’s potential in each of those builds
The progression is great for single player. Not so much for multiplayer and free racing. The progression truly feels like progression and not just “buy car, buy best upgrades, run it a few times, forget about it.”

I miss the days Forza tried to compete with Gran Turismo.
Because it pushed Gran Turismo to be better. While I think GT3 and GT4 are the best sims of the 2000s, Forza 4 is the best sim of the 360/PS3 era overall. Specially because GT lost its way on GT5 and GT6. Only getting better with GT Sport after the stiff competition of Forza 4 and others.
Forza 4 pushed GT to get more realistic sounds, ditching the synthetic sounds of the PS2 games. AssetoCorsa pushed GT to have more realistic driving.
Currently Forza lacks on graphics, sound (Although sounding good, it is very unrealistic, specially the cockpit view sound), and the physics… lets say it reminds of Need for Speed Shift 2… in a bad way…

I can agree with that, but Forza Motorsport's lack of rallycross and off-road racing is what drives some of GT fans away. Forza is stuck in 2000s tarmac-only trend and never moved on since, while even the most hardcore of all iRacing has Trophy Trucks and rallycross as some of their features.

Since when x360 has a proper wheel support? ;) I'm not a best wheel driver, but somehow in GT6+7 i just works (to repeat after certain Todd) and on xbone it was small disaster.

@hamzerpanzer it's not a sim, so it's not going to simulate everything correctly. It's made for a general audience of gamers who aren't hardcore and don't have wheels.
Most gamers might play an hour per week. They aren't hardcore like us. They aren't buying wheels and pedals. They are using a controller to drive, so the game is designed around controller being used and a wheel is converted from that data.
But, if you have a pc you can change your steering lock and setup for your wheel beyond the options the console offers, and then use it on console. This is what the pros do. They aren't using only the game settings to setup their wheel.
They modify the wheel on pc and it overrides the game steering lock, etc.
I feel that I am the only person who does this, but here’s your solution. Start with your stick pressed forward and make slight movements to the top left or top right to make small turns. It’s much easier to control the right/left movement if you’re using the top of the analog base as a medium rather than hoping your spring snaps it back quick enough. Try it.
When I found out that I had to unlock individual wheels sizes for each car I bought, I clocked out. Even EA wouldn’t stoop so low to kneecap freedom from the start of the game.

I had planned to buy this game before release, but the final straw for me was the nurburgring not being included on launch. Sure you dont need it for a racing game to be good, but for a game as big as motorsport to not include one of the worlds most famous race tracks on launch was just a really bad sign. I've been playing Forza Motorsport 3&4 on my PC for the last few weeks and it's still better than anything out there today. Between that, GT 3&4, GTR 1&2, Assetto Corsa, Rfactor, NR2K3 Season.. what else do I need? What's the point? I still run Forza 7 on my PC sometimes but that's only because I was able to pirate it because Microsoft won't even let me purchase the damn thing.
For me, Forza Motorsport 3 was a watershed moment, and I don't see another racing sim being able to give me that again. I hope I'm wrong, but I ain't holdin my breath.

Horizon 5 was by a European dev team. A team that was made up of mostly vets who had worked of the previous games, with some outsourcing. The new Motorsport game made by short term hires with only a few permanent lead developers, who have to start over every 6 months when the next lot temps get hired. Getting them set up, showing how the engine works, what there goal is, etc, etc. It really does show how broken the game industry is getting in the States when they want temps over loyal workers.
Yeah there is a good reason why I no longer feel any connection to developers or sympathy for when things fall apart for them anymore. AAA devs have gone from passionate groups of veterans to bloated groups of new hires on rotation. So now it's like who cares if the studio continues to exist or not, it's no longer anything with real talent behind it.
Pray we don’t witness the downfall of others that create within this genre, and that the Forza series receives revitalization from a stable, dedicated source. A constant rotation of new hires is enough to bring down just about anything, not even just game related.
And yet even FH5 was a huge step backwards yet again. I'm sorry, dynamically instancing the world completely ruined the game for me. I understand the map is bigger, but all they really had to do then was up the player limit per server. Now it's completely impossible to see someone out roaming and go join them. Everywhere you go feels like a ghost town and you may as well be offline instead. What a joke
@ There is so many things broken with FH5 outside of the map. Did you know, you can get all the way the final race of each race type, without ever winning a race. I found that on FH4.
Ive genuinely been disappointed in racing games for like 10 years. Nothing seems like its improving as a game. The campaigns arent better, the racing isnt more cinimatic, theres never story, the online is a crash lobby in every game. In a world where every genre of game sees improvement, evolution, and constant competition in their fields, racing games feel like they've been in the same place for nearly 20 years.
It sucks because Forza motorsport was what got me into racing games as a kid. Always a great time and the games are so much fun. Then apparently they rebuilt it for this new game and yet this game comes absolutely nowhere even close to GT7… GT 7 has its own problems, but this game is far behind in every way possible.

Forza peaked in FM4. There was more fun than the sterile GT5 at the time. But with this game, I just kept going back to GT7 and haven’t booted up Forza in a year.
15:10 I wholeheartedly agree with this. FM is by far the only online "simcade" available for PC and primarily Xbox. It’s the only viable option if you want to enjoy some track racing with a controller. Good luck trying that with ACC or AC-you’ll be at a significant disadvantage. This is coming from someone who plays both titles with a wheel.
In its current state, the game is "fine." Some areas have seen improvements, but it still lacks features compared to FH5. The graphics aren’t great but are usable. Lobbies are fairly clean, but it’s rare to have a 20+ player session without at least one person rage-quitting.

To me it looks like it has so much potential, it does things other racers dont do, its got the chase cam which is so basic, other racers cant do, so much potential with the game if it gets cleaned up thoroughly for this iteration, it would be amazing, we all saw the e3 stuff, potential. However many just want the game amazing upfront, no mistakes, no questions, ill stick by turn 10 on this one, against all odds, even if they shutdown they did it well still

I just bought motorsport, while I don't race on a wheel or anything like that I think its very enjoyable. I have over 400 hrs in Forza Horizon 5 holding top 500 positions in most of my rival times and I can honestly say it's a great change of pace from horizon. I havent played any previous Forza's other than these 2 but maybe, just maybe, a lot of the issues people have with it is just them remembering the games from their childhood as better than they really were?
I can see where you’re coming from, and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. From a wheel racing standpoint, (and my shitty pc performance while racing rather than hot lapping) it misses the mark. Thats not all bad though. I played through FH5 close to release with a wheel knowing that realism wouldn’t be a thing, and still had a decent time. As for previous titles, I haven’t played them as they weren’t accessible to me, but the numbers show. If you get a chance, try them out. It wouldn’t be too far off from what you play now, and survey says you would probably enjoy them more. (Also, you haven’t lived until you’ve done some gran turismo license tests. That shit is legendary.)
Someone send this video to Turn 10, maybe they can still salvage the game after hearing this review, but cut the childlike argument out of the video at 4:30 before sending it.

I'm currently working in a game studio where we also use outsourcing. But, it's important to realize what's actually being outsourced - assets (vehicles, environment objects, characters, ...). Can't image game design elements/mechanics being outsourced, because it would only make things more difficult and generally doesn't make sense (maybe if you have some veteran game designer as consultant).
You're leaning little bit too much on this and extrapolating why the feel of the game is different. While I agree with you on the "empty/uninspired" feel, I don't think it's because of outsourcing.

I’ve been on ACC for the past 6 months on PC and tried peeking at FM with no reason to do more than just peek.
As a game developer myself I definitely see how it all falls apart when studios don’t want to pay benefits so they offer short term contracts that lead to very chaotic development cycles.
It’s sad but on the bright side, sim racing is growing fast and I’m enjoying this space right now.

We had games like NFSIII to Carbon, Richard Burns Rally, the first 4 GT games, early Forza games, TOCA series, TOCA Race Driver 1-3, Race Driver:Grid, Colin McRae Series, CM DiRT 1-3, SRS Street Racing Syndicate, Midnight Club series, F1 Challenge 99-02, GTR, GTR2, Race 07, rfactor, GT Legends, Project Gotham Racing series, NASCAR games, Mario Kart Double Dash, Crash Nitro Kart, MX Superfly, Tourist Trophy, Smugglers Run, Rally Trophy, FlatOut, FlatOut 2, BurnOut series, Pure, Moto Racer series, V Rally series, Extreme G Racing 3, Wave Race Blue Storm, Hydro Thunder, F1 Championship Edition, Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix series, TDU 1+2, Driver series and so many more awesome racing games. Where did they go? I think racing games in the last 10 years have been lacking like crazy.
The Devs seem to be more obsessed with removing any valid criticism from the forums than they are with fixing the core issues with the game.
They spend their time fixing what isn't broken while day one issues persist in game.
Every new update brings a slew of new performance issues and content that was obviously never play tested.
I have over 1200hrs into the game- not because it's great, but because there isn't another sim (or sim adjacent) title that lets me modify shitboxes and race them where they shouldn't be, and the number of 'regular cars" (non- super rare/ highest spec models) has dwindles with every passing installment.
I am critical of the game because no one wanted it to be a success more than I did. I was the biggest fan of the series from the moment I started playing the first installment on my roommate's Xbox in Iraq.
The latest Motorsport feels like an insult.

Sony killed almost every good franchise they had, like InFAmous, Uncharted, Killzone, etc.
Their attempt to make a Gears of war killer (The order) and a Forza horizon killer (Driveclub) failed miserably.
Worse console overall, with no features like FPS boost or quick resume, and no backwards compatibility.
PlayStation pretty much died in PS3, in PS4 they found their formula (third person emotional narrative games), which made them successful, and milked this formula until the last drop, now in PS5, PS fans aren't receiving even this, just more remasters and remakes.
In Xbox, at least I still have gamepass, backwards compatibility, and a well build console with good features.
Yeah they have always been really manipulative about review scores as well.

All Microsoft had to do was pay Turn 10 to copy Gran Turismo 7 while taking into account the negative reviews and community suggestions of the game.
But GT7 was garbage, all turn 10 had to do was copy and paste forza motorsport 7 content into the new engine, but no they had to make it fomo BS with less content than FM6.

It lacks soul. Forza used to have a driver level, car collection level, rare cars that can be missed but also found at the auction house. The career allowed you to drive all types of cars and work up to the highest class. This one is sterile and boring. Its only for hardcore sim fans where forza 7 was fun for everyone. They need a real campaign without warm up laps, collection levels with rewards, and driver levels with rewards to feel like forza. As it stands id rather play gt7, project cars 3, or forza 7.

People are building up the earlier forza motorsport titles in their minds, those are not as great as people remember. Even at the time they were being outclassed by Codemasters titles such as ToCa Race Driver 2-3

I actually still play FM 2 to FM4 on an old 360 in my office....and they are better. Even on an old controller it feels better than today's titles. FM6 comes close, but that's it. The ToCa games were great too, but totally different type of games. Just as the first too NfS Underground games.
@Missinglink3003 I like the first 6 Forza Motorsport titles, I just don't think they have ever been top of their class from a physics perspective. To me they feel like there is too little traction. I know many consider this realistic, but I imagine real race drivers don't feel like they're trying to avoid spilling an open container of soup that's sitting in the passenger seat, which is what the FM physics make me feel like. I consider ToCa 3 just as "realistic" but it doesn't make me feel that way

Forza 4 was the pinnacle of the series. Forza 6 was the best on the modern xbox platform. I think that top level executives killed the game by making repeated decisions that demotivated management and developers alike and anyone that was good left.
I blame poor progression on the “popcorn generation”. If young players these days aren’t getting instant gratification then they won’t play it. Old souls like us are used to the need for speed underground days where you had to put blood, sweat and tears into getting the cars and upgrades you wanted. It was so satisfying and fulfilling in the end. Now you just get a Bugatti and 400 billion credits right off the bat. That coupled with the lack of a goal (horizon 4/5) has made the game stale and boring…….I mean need for speed payback is better than most modern Forza games lol.
I just bought fm8 because it was 50% off and i got a wheel for Christmas, the game feels pretty hollow, but improved a lot of the aweful user experience issues i had with fm7. And while the career mode is pretty standard boring, at least I haven't had to race any atvs to progress to the next series. Such a shame in general, having played them all except 6, this one by far has the worst audio. In fm3, the exhaust upgrade would dirastically change each vehicle. You can tell they just don't give a shit anymore.
If your interested in the simulation or the sport, and this is assuming your on xbox, assetto corsa competizione should be on your list of things to try with that wheel. If you like more street car stuff, or want to see more than just one series of racing, then I’d hold off or catch it on a sale. Happy racing. Hope you get to enjoy that wheel on a better game soon!

At the same time you have to give them credit for still releasing games very few actually care and most if not all big puplishers won't bother with at all. Age of Empires 4, Flight Simulator, Psychonauts 2, or doing remasters and re-releases of Golden Eye 007 (by a main competitor) Age of Mythology, The Bard's Tale etc. etc. etc.

In gaming nowadays, we expect and want more than what is possible. When we don’t get it we look for somewhere to complain. Even when the best of the best and the only companies making the kind of game is being bashed for the ground, its shows how entitled we think we can be as a consumer. The truth is with cross platform niches became even more niche, and racing games aren’t as popular as they once were. Especially with console exclusivity out the window you’re not forced to play one racing game. It didn’t get worse, our interest went elsewhere where and we hav ego be real about that. If you're on Xbox, just play Assetto Corsa Competizione instead. Way cheaper, more realistic, real racing, cross-play online and on Series X it even looks better in many ways. And those sounds.
Amen, but just having gt cars is a hard sale for most. For an enthusiast, it should be an instant buy or permanent switch. Can’t recommend it enough in that regard.
To be honest. Even being a GT7 player, i expected awesome things with Forza Motorsport, when i saw the Trailer i wqs excited and how it would be. But the final dissapointed me, more than GT7 (Only bad things was micro but other was OK not good, not bad) it make me have Turn 10 like the worst of the worst.
It's unbeliable that Forza Motorsports maked promises and alot of things and features that step up like a Simulator and not even a Simcade game.
But no, they stayed in the same thing without fight against the kings (Assetto Corsa Competizione, Rfactor2, Iracing, Automobilista 2 and others) but preffered stayed fighting against GT7 i mean...

6 weeks before the game came out and weeks before thebtdailer i read a article that made perfect ssnse on why the new forza was gonne be absolutely terrible borh in gameplay amd visual there was even buzz in the commu itu about these facts and still people bought it knowing this

For now, until ACE releases, GT7 is the king. The single player campaign is phenomenal. They teach you about the history and significance of the cars that have released.
GT7 is what FM4 was. A game for the car enthusiasts out there. There is no more passion remaining from Turn10. They do not care about car enthusiasts. They stopped caring after FM5 and after Forza Horizon became a money generating pit.
To add to this, it's pathetic how bad the interiors and exteriors of the cars are in FM. It's so fucking cheap looking. Meanwhile, you get on GT7 and the attention to detail on and inside the cars is insane. Actual parts numbers can be found. Correct textures can be seen. Polyphony care when it comes to details. No race track should EVER look like it's flooded. That's not how they look when being raced on.
Personally, if GT7 had some parts of GT sport and wasn’t locked to PS, I’d be all over it still. However, I would have never enjoyed racing without those damn license tests and the retelling of legendary accomplishments in the history of motorsport. GT transcends being a game as it’s a gateway to a hobby that many will find passion in, and it’s made that a clear intention. FM gives you a forced tutorial, but (correct me if I’m wrong please) it’s not going to tell you what a late apex is then test you until you’ve proven you can replicate that line within the tolerance of time. Pray we see newer titles follow suit, for everyone’s sake.
If GT7 was on PC I would never touch this turd ever again but luckily Assetto Corsa Evo is coming out soon so I won't have to play this garbage anymore. This is a perfect example of how elites (CEOs, politicians, etc.) think they are smarter than everyone around and are the sole reason for the success of their company. But the truth is good employees and hard-working people are more important. Microsoft thought they can save money on devs by outsourcing but instead, they killed the game. DEI is also responsible for the death of many great studios.
I enjoyed the video but unfortunately I have to leave a dislike. This is a solid critique and I understand the frustration as being a longtime forza fan myself, however there is no need to be hateful to other groups while expressing this frustration.
I don't really understand the people who still defends this game. Like, their whole reasoning behind Motorsport's flaws is that they haven't experience said flaws, and to me is just sad how this entire thing has unravelled.
Is this really the standard behind the industry? Just to conform with whatever crap the people behind it just come with? They've sacrificed their entire fanbase and credibility to win what exactly?

I just looked into it the first time these days and it seems very different to a year ago. Much better AI behaviour, better collision penalty, raytracing and high res textures, in general it runs smooth and looks and feels incredible to drive. It still has shortcomings. and imo will keep them like boring career more..etc Pad control is very well done and new tracks and cars that were missing are added.
its still for from perfect and not designed to be ultra realistic with fewer rounds to drive but thats what makes it fun. I recommend trying it out again.

however, is this really aceptable anyways? they had more than enough years to make the game, or rather, to make an aceptable product.
I know that the developers aren't the ones to blame on this situation, they obviously want to make the best game possible, and they've shown some progress with the last couple of updates, but that's not the focus.
To me, more than the disaster of the game, the worst were the lies and their shitty tactics to promote their product.
Anyways, it's sad that the only few things aceptable from this game is or either recycled, improved via hardware, or features that should've been since day one.
@@JossielB-d9k agree with you 100% I think the main problem Turn10 and other AAA companies face is that the original creative and dedicated staff has now left and f.e. with EA or Ubi DEI hires replace these people. They are in general far less talented, entitled and simply not really interested in the product. You see that with FM8 everywhere that the love for the product is gone now. Tripple A faces a huge challenge in going back hiring the most talented people and actually giving them creative freedom.
Sadly I dont see that happening which is why most AAA studios turn into mediocre short term shareholder value obsessed dumps. Ubi just has obliterated their value in a relative short time period.
With FM8 the excellent controller support and now smooth simulation gameplay combined with less time invest then lets say iracing or ACC gives it its niche and imo for people who just want to have a race from time to time but with a realistic simulation touch this is now a very good game. 2025 will be the decider about Forzas future as so many strong competitors will come out.

I dont really know why people bash on forza horizon 5 so much, i mean guys they really went the extra mile for us they changed the car sounds some of the sound GODLY now, not only that but exhausts now change the cars audio as well and yeah the map may not be watt we expected, and yeah we still have cars constantly being given out, and progression is somewhat non existant, i still had fun though... like even when the game came out on day 1 i never really saw it as a thing to be criticized all that much, its FORZA!! you know!!! Forza i know watt to expect with a forza horizon title, however nothing prepared me for the absolutely devastating blow that is this game so bad that i had to ask for a refund. At least Forza horizon 5 you can tell the team actually listened to criticism from the past and worked hard to fix it and make it right, not to mention on fidelity mode on an xbox series X this game is absolutely gorgeous man, even more beautiful then this... this fiasco of a game i dont even know what to call this

I bought a steering wheel and pedals to play Forza. After a few weeks of really hating the physics, I bought Assetto. The physics are infinitely better and the cars more fun to drive because it actually feels like my inputs are connected to the game.
Thats also how many forza players feel comming to GT7
I just played it for the first time yesterday, and was really disappointed and annoyed. The amount of hand-holding and forced tutorials is a complete turn off. Also don't like the progression system. Forcing me to do these races in the beginning and only giving me the choice between 3 cars they don't even show me the statistics of, then push you into the cup. As someone who has played through GT4 and GT5 recently, the lack of freedom to how to progress, lack of style, hand-holding, car opponents that crash into you and heavy steering with controller has already made me doubt if I'll continue to play the game, even if I have "free access" to it on game pass.
Um you don't have to use any of the assist, and after those cars in the beginning you can just play the gamee the way you want.
When I bought a 360 back in the day, I bought all the first party exclusives, like Halo, Gears, and Fable, and they were good or great, but Forza 4...Now that game, impressed me, and is the only 1st party xbox 360 exclusive that got a 9/10 score for me.
These days, it looks like all the 1st party xbox stuff have become shells of what they used to be. Too bad.
The biggest issue to me is the handling. Every car is like driving on ice, i can barely feel the tire is on its limit. Cars are always understeer, but when it oversteer is so hard to save.
Maybe just me, it's hard to correct the racing line by using the controller. I have played multiple racing games by using controller, including old Motorsports. What i can say is this is the worst experience i have ever had in whole Forza franchise.

yeah fm8 has whatever controller "assists" hard coded into the game. so even when youre playing with everything pro and unassisted settings, youre still getting speed sensitive steering , which leads to the chronic understeer from controllers, and if you somehow oversteer, they actually give you full steering lock, but only in the countersteer direction. so in every turn, while on controller, you'll have maybe 20% of your full steering lock going into the turn, and then trying to save a slide requires you to recalibrate your brain for 100% steering lock in the opposite direction, which youll probably over correct for, meaning youre now going out of the turn, again with 20% of your steering lock. its such a dumb system, made for such a specific style of driving. and when people tell me "you gotta tune the cars to make them drive well" i tune it out, because i shouldnt have to tune a car to get it to behave somewhere in the realm of actual reality.
As a gamer who studied how make games. I don't usually cringe or complain about any games, knowing what goes into making a game. But I tried to give FM many chances to be better or improve with updates, but this game really keeps disappointing. And I am shocked to see that even you get the VRAM pop up before the start of the race, I can understand that I just have a 4gb of VRAM, but that totally baffled me. I love sim racing and have been playing on PC since 25 years. And thank GOD I finally got PS and GT7 is the first game that I am happy playing on it.
FM made my pc feel like a toaster. Couldn’t ever hit a steady 60 with other cars on the field. Thankful AC, with an optional healthy dose of mods, runs well and satiates that itch every time.
The career, penalty system and AI are still shit I'll give you that, but to say that the game hasn't changed in a year and FM7 has more features is insane.
The glitches seen at the start of the video are not representative of the game (or maybe you are the unluckiest person in the world); the physics are definitely not the same as the previous game, speaking from personal experience they are much better; the graphics and audio are being worked on, albeit very slowly so not really a thing they should be praised for (but it is changing!).
In my opinion there's still hope, it isn't all lost. I know people like you won't come back to the game, for good reasons, but I wrote this comment just to give more information to those who may still play.

Iv made the switch to gran turismo 7.... by far the best move iv made. What an absolute flip fm / fm8 has been / is. I still love the horizon series even though 4 and 5 have gotten boring. But it's not just games.. its consoles too. Ps5 hands down runs rings around the xbox series x. Iv i switched to xbox years ago. With nearly every game been cross play. Iv made the switch back to ps. Just keeping my xbox for their exclusives. But forza motorsport has been the biggest failure in forza history. Absolute flop of a game. Seriosuly upsetting
