I just love your consistency in dishing out these lessons. Thanks Lucy! I've been following for about 4yrs now and I must say, I've noticed some considerable improvement in my general knowledge and understanding of the English language and culture. You're doing a fantastic job. Cheers!
As a non-native but as a professional linguist and, more importantly, a teacher of English, I often work with students who ask me to tell them about the main pronunciation differences between BrE and AmE. Lucy's pronouncing simple words with the two main accents of English looks pretty much the same as the thing I do at my classes, with the explanations and descriptions of the sounds being quite similar, too.
As a non-native English speaker, started with Linguaphone, then FollowMe, and then New Concept English, quite familiar with British English many years ago… now I speak American English but Lucy’s British English accent still sounds lovely to me!😊 Honestly, what she teaches is very practical👍.
Fantastic. I'm an American retiree and volunteer teaching English here in Germany. Your approach is much better than what I'm working with, ie Oxford 😢 P S, your sidi was perfect!
I'm russian ,married to English man, not British man. If u wanna help people keep it simple,.it's so many dialects in Great Britain they how to discover themselves. It's taking me more than 15 years I'm still studying. Good luck
I discovered your channel quite a while (years?) ago, and I am very glad to see that your business seems flourishing. You really deserve it, the content is so helpful for us! (I am french) Your pronounciation is a real delight. Thanks a lot.

it's amazing how much of effort you put in all the lessons... I've been following your channel. Keep up the good work and thank you for all the knowledge you're imparting.
Your blank expression while imitating Siri was phenomenal 😂 And as an American linguaphile, I think that your American accent is quite good! Thank you for creating these videos - I find them invaluable as I work to teach modern RP to my eight-year-old child, for an upcoming role in the stage musical 'Matilda'.
By following your TH-cam channel now I feel so comfortable in pronunciation. Although I don't have great vocabulary everyone admire when I speak hence the way I am speaking. Please do more videos like this. Great job! ❤🎉🎉😊
Wtf😂 I used to watch ur videos when i was a beginner it helped me a lot . that's why I would like to thank you for all the incredible job and effort that you put in doing your videos.
Many thanks for this great lesson Lucy! I especially like the comparison with AE, the tongue/teeth/lip pictures and that you provide the phonemic orthography. That's really helpful :)
I loved it! I am Canadian, so my English accent is not very good (especially since I've got my orthodontic appliance), but I love British accent! This video helped me a lot to improve my accent! Thank you! 🤓

your impression of the American accent is really good! You nail it. I have a very standard American accent -- I'm in New England but speak with a very general accent -- similar to most general American accents you'll hear on news reports or in movies.
Even though I am learning American accent,, nonetheless I'm following you on the TH-cam,, cause all the time you bringing us new vocabulary specially I follow you for powerful adjective. Despite I'm getting into American accent,,

Thank you Lucy for 10 British English Word accents. British accent is the best accent to use in native English. I like the word pronunciation. Lucy, I always love your English lessons
I am thanking you a lot for this video which helped me to make a right choice of the learning English. This is very important to me. So I got in time that I was studying but as I see now it was just an American English which is NOT my favourite. I thought they help us to study the British English as they TELL about British English in their platform BUT your videos helped me to SEE this difference in time and to make my choice. Thank you again and again. Sending my greetings from Ukraine /Lviv city/. Thanks a lot 🙏🌹📖👌
Great job with the American accent, Lucy! Your students might be confused when they hear the non-rhotic American accents like in Boston, New York, and my New Orleans. We don’t pronounce the “R’s” found in the names of our own cities, so they end up sounding like New Awlins and New Yawk. It’s impossible to write it out exactly like it’s pronounced in these accents though. Great video!
Another wonderful and amazing vlog from our Lucy. I can communicate English Fluently but grammatical bit disadvantage when it come it come to written English. Nice to know our English with Lucy got 10 Millions Subscribers wow ALLAHU AKBAR(the God is the Greatest). From London UK.
Dear Lucy, I appreciate greatly for your lessons. Could you share some lessons of basic alphabet sounds for Kids especially from India. I am helpless to guide the queries of my son regarding the pronounciation.Thanks.
When I loose my British English accent for some reason (e.g. a cold, a bad day, being physically tired) I do my “Keira Knightley teeth” and it works! 😅
Lucy, thank you! So, RP English is non-rhotic. Hmm. Your American accent is spot on. I had an English roommate once upon a time, and he and I had great fun comparing pronunciations of words and going back and forth between Webster's and the OED. His pronunciation of corollary, with the accent on the second syllable, where I'd put it on the first, nearly broke my jaw. No, just kidding. Your work is marvelous. Carry on!
I think, listening is the most important practice to learn English and improve speaking skills 🎧 I highly recommend short stories for learning English. Thanks for the great tips 👍❤❤
Funny timing when you actually did pronounce the R at the end of "letter" in the very next sentence, after explaining that you never do :-p (yeah, I get that the next word starts with a vowel sound, but still)
This is very good stuff. I was trying to get into one of your courses on your website because I wanted to learn the British accent, but I was blocked. I don't know why. Even your weekly emails to my inbox got swept into junk mail until I found out and told my email client, "Lucy is not spam!"

I like the way how Lucy pronounces words in American English. True Talent:)

I can always understand all words you speak, Lucy! A beautiful English is always better comprehended!

The word linguist contains the letter "n" after the first "i". A "professional" would know how to spell it correctly.

This is brilliant. I now understand why the Boston accent does not pronounce their R’s! Many thanks from the states.
