"Step Away" - In a 1967 Ford F-250 4x4 Highboy

- Join me on a journey in our 1967 Ford F-250 4x4 "Bluebird", as we take an after-work cruise along the Lost River Range in central Idaho, home to our tallest mountain, Mt. Borah.
We wanted to share the feeling, the nostalgia, of owning and driving a vintage Ford 4x4. For many, fondest memories are tied up with a vintage vehicle. Perhaps a memory with our grandpas truck, or getting the keys to our first car. Maybe a first kiss, a fresh drivers license, or a new set of tires. There's just something about a vintage truck, for us, that brings us back.
A "step-away" is just the recipe to remind us to dig deep, to reset. A time to reflect on our life, a chance to get out into God's country and tune-in with our Creator.
We all need that occasional refresh!
Enjoy!!

I just went out and started my '67 F600 (blue and white) and drove her across the front yard then I loaded the back of my OBS F250 4x4 with tools to go down to the barn to put a battery in my old tractor. I am a Vietnam Era Veteran and I still get a thrill out of being alone with my old Ford trucks. This video hit a home run here in an old man's heart. Thank you.
That's quite a special comment, thank you very much!
Thank you for serving and protecting us.
😊um abraço aqui do Brasil e sou fã da Ford
This is the most American thing I’ve seen all week.
Well the most American thing I seen this month was how Ford changed their logo to "celebrate" pride.
@@jimbaker4277 good on em
The folks at Ford should bring these trucks back in the exact same way as before.
This whole video moved me to my soul. A simpler time and a rock solid truck.
Honest Santa, I've been real good and this would be the last truck I'd ever drive.
Everything about this video was amazing)))))
That's brilliant. The American Spirit
Exactly my toughts
.
Rockin my 1976 f100 custom long bed! Bought her off an old farmer in the PNW. She's my daily grocery getter, and my Sunday cruiser.
Awesome!
I rather drive an old school Ford, Chevy or Dodge stock looking truck like this beauty, than any new truck today......
So built well built with real American Steel back then…😊
You are 1 lucky guy! That is a beautiful truck!
Our client is the lucky one!
Back when trucks were trucks
That's a nice old truck. I miss my old 70 Dodge. Wish I wouldn't have sold it.
Show!!!!! Congratulations from Brazil.
Wow flood of memories ❤ hunting Colorado,Idaho ,Montana,Nevada in our 75 f 250 👍had a 69 ,72 ,75 ,76 ,78,79 f250 73 f100 all 4x4 best looking truck ever made .round headlights 👍
Fantastic! I've hunted Oregon in a '68, Idaho in a '69, '71, and Colorado a few times in another '69. Fond memories!
Man, my favorite singer and my favorite truck! Great video!
I'm on the precipice, a solemn juncture of life where this truck has consumed me. Should I bite the bullet and make the call? The video is nudging me towards that edge. Open arms and eyes closed. I dream.
Don't we all? :)
Nice Truck, I love these 1967 to 1977 F250
Wow so great!
I have a 1969 F250 factory hi boy.
OMG the tailgate isn't damped? Lol beautiful truck from back in the day when men could open tailgates and lock hubs!
Exactly, right!?
I know! All that extra stuff they have now is just so unnecessary, and just makes trucks cost way more than they should.
Very nice truck 🇺🇲
I love how simple them ole trucks are
Hell yea
Really is a nice truck
A highboy and an Exo Mtn pack… couldn’t get any better!
We have to agree!
Pure quality 👌
Perfect Truck and Perfect Landscape!
Que espectaculares paisajes.
Yellow 67 f100 4x4 in my driveway.
Great teaser, I recognized the landscape and the roads. We might be neighbors. Love to see that truck in person sometime.
Shipped her off to Minnesota last week!
Pretty cool seeing where I live in a video! Nice truck too
Putting my 71 Highboy back together. Can’t wait to enjoy it again
Good luck!!
Mine? A 70 version same color scheme, Ranger! Tough as nails. Epic touch of life in this video, thanks for sharing.
Everything about this video was amazing! Great work by all those involved
Thank-you!
Just an absolutely beautiful Ford you’ve got there
Very cool. Bumpside, mountain fire, successful shed hunt, and hot coffee from Joseph’s old school pot. Don’t get much better than that.
Very neat trip using a very, very neat truck built during a better time. Thank you for sharing.
Man that hits hard!!
We're glad it resonates!
Great video. Love the Ford F-250 4x4. Brought me back to simpler times when things weren't so complicated.
David Nakamoto, absolutely EPIC footage, editing, and audio. Wow!! Truly inspiring! My son is wondering what camera you used?
Hey! Thanks for the kind remark. David used a Fujifilm XT2 & Assortment of prime lenses. (Low F stop)
It is a shame we can't take these old trucks to heaven with us so I am sure getting all the use out of them before I go.
Who says there aren't brand new old trucks there waiting for us?

Fords CANT be beat
Correct. :) 😁
All your missing is the dog and a gun rack. 👍
Noted!
Joseph,
That video is a grand slam!
Awesome truck!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Vince!
Are we gonna see this bad boy on BaT???
Cool vid.
I love my '68 bumpy.
Changed my life getting it.
No, private build we did for our customer.
What a great video, well done.
Have a 74 short bed, 4 speed with a rebuilt 360...towed a Mustang GT from Waldport OR backwards on a dolly to Corvallis. GT is an auto, found out the front brakes on the Mustang were frozen when we arrived! Never even noticed because my F100 is such a towing beast!! Great video! 🛻
I just wish I could find one to purchase! Howdy from SE Texas🤠
What I like to say, is that you're not looking until you've called us! :)
@@bumpsidetreasures well I’ll look y’all up! Thanks
Ive been thinking about making this video, with my actual "88 Ford". Is the perfect song for my truck.
2 thumbs up
Great video!!! 😎👍
Mackay to Challis is a beautiful stretch of road.
Sweet truck and restoration. Owned a couple if bumpsides myself. But I'm left wondering why the 4x4 had to be engaged for a gravel road.
for fun!
Great video, the only thing missing is a German Shepherd along for the ride.
A foreign dog, are you out of your mind?
@davidc9135 a retriever or lab is much fitting even tho both are probably European decent also. Just perfect american image tho
@@julianrodriguez1768 Haha I'm just messing around
German Shepherd ain't a cow dog.
Am I the only one disturbed the front studs aren't long enough to make full thread contact?
👍👍😊
Loved the video!
What camera equipment was used to capture it?
Look so great, its the toyo tires , what size men ??
Probably the most common question we get. 255/85/16, Toyo MT. Best Highboy tire out there. There's not even a close second..
Where was this filmed? Looks familiar
Challis, lost River, Mt. borah
Where can I send you pics of mine? I'm in Wilder ID
Okay so for one, that guy could have gotten to his camping spot just fine with 2wd. Two, that is not how you split firewood when you are out there alone. Lastly I own a 83 k20 with a 350.
No, he probably didnt need to use 4wd on the gravel road, but its good idea to operate the 4wd system every month or so. It ensures the system is working properly and good maintenance. Whenever I get on a gravel road, I shift to 4 hi.
What brand is the axe
Thompson Tool Works (on IG), he reconditions vintage quality blades, and custom makes handles for them. I love this one, have skinned elk with it, and used it to cut wood at the same time. Fantastic product.
What does this do? 1:25
That’s when your car can do off road stuff 😊. Locking hubs.
@@gusorion8151 thanks
Locking hubs are where you can rotate a hub to lock the front drive to the wheels, which creates four wheel drive. This is only in older trucks since we now have technology that can do that for us automatically with the push of a button.
@@mason2953except usually only modern half tons have auto locking hubs
Those are manual locking hubs.
Even with the patina, that truck looks like new.
Glad you didn't spoil this video with:
1. driving with your coat on- like a lunatic
2. incessant talking
3. any form of ryan bingham music- nonsensical rambling lyric songs that make no sense, and quite frankly, shouldn't be quantified as music. It's not country music, not even folk music- it's trash.
4. some sort of "sponsorship for this video" pitch.
Nice truck, really nice.
:) Fun comment. You're welcome!
1:25 why?
