    People who routinely pray AND meditate have reported that prayer is more meaningful to them, adding tremendous value and direction. To do both seems best, as they go together. One is more listening, the other is more communing.

    On work days I drink glass of water and cup of coffee then I do what I love to do (music). I don't mind waking up at 5am because I get to make music before I am exhausted from work. On weekends I also read for one hour while enjoying breakfast.

    No, I didn't hit the snooze this morning. In fact, not only have I not done it for over a month, but I'm not sure I know how to snooze my Fitbit alarm. I just get up. I don't have time to be lazy in bed anymore!

    I had no problem with going to the gym in the evening (~9PM to avoid peak hours), but I got so energized I couldn't sleep until 2AM, and that has a bad effect on my mornings. I am now trying to go to the gym in the morning, but to do so I really have to wake up around 5.30, so I have to re-learn going to bed around 11PM latest. Wish me good luck, so far it's WIP.

    What he says about greatfullness is very interesting as well as true. I wake up for school, with the mindset thar I am incredibly fortunate to be able to go to school and get an education, and not to be starving to death or abused or have a serious psychological disability. I think everyone has at least one reason for getting up in the morning, and that's enough to get you out of bed.

    I recently listened to a podcast where Pete Mockaitis suggested a different spin on AFFIRMATIONS. Instead of essentially telling yourself "lies", approach affirmations like commitments you can control now! After all - your habits create your future success - so if you affirm your commitment to achieve a goal, it can make it more believable when you struggle with affirming the future in the present.

    I don´t like the sentence minute 1. "He could have choosen to be depressed but he took the responsibility for his life." You make it sound like persons with depression just could choose not to be depressed, and thats just true. Of course a proactivepositive thinking helps....but thats kinda the problem there right?
    I know what you mean, but thats not the wording for it.
    You meant: "He could have let this accident rule his life and thinking, but he choose to think of it in another usefull way."

    "anyone in his situation could have chosen to be depressed"? I'm sorry I'm nitpicking here, but I personally don't think saying it like that is okay. It sounds like depression is a choice, or that the people who have it chose wrong etc. How the author dealt with that car accident is really admirable, and otherwise this was a great video! But that one thing just wasn't okay for me.

    • @zight123
      @zight123 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      he means anyone on that situation could have chosen to simply accept what happened to them, live having the same repeating thoughts drag them down in life, have it make them depressed, and feel sorry for themselves. But instead of that, he chose to do something about it, and strengthen and train his mind and will power, so that he does succumb to depression. Im not saying depression isnt real, but a lot of depression is circumstantial, and you can very well choose to do something about it. it aint easy, but for a lot of people, something can be done.

    So my question is this; I have a work schedule that fairly regularly changes. Some days I have to be to work at 8 but some morning I have to be there as early as 5. Trying to keep a regular sleep cycle and wake up at a consistent time is really hard under these circumstances especially since I have a 1 year old. any advice?

    • @Andressa.laprof
      @Andressa.laprof 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      maybe if you try to always wake up like you're supposed to be at work at 5am. I know its not ideal, but i could make your sleeping cycle more consistent, i guess... and on the morning when you didnt have to be at work at 5, you can do the steps on the video and you could even teach your child to wake up early and spend some quality time together in breakfast, you could even teach him/her the "silent" step, to teach your child to be grateful. what's also pretty cool is that maybe you could watch the sunset together...?

    What he says, it's exactly what is existing in Islam. First thing after waking up, its to do a small ebullition then pray. Iin the prayer you find the point of gratefulness existing in what is recited also you find the purpose of your life there so you know why you woke up and your reason of existence. Next, you finish the prayer and head to some worldly staff ( work, eating etc..) before next prayer (as a reminder of your purpose of existence again)

    No one "chooses" to be depressed. When you say that you can "choose" to be depressed, you are demeaning people who suffer from clinical depression and minimizing their suffering. You are implying that they had an option to not be depressed. This is shameful.
