Just found your channel! Great video here. Have you thought about working with architects or contractors.? They always need as-built drawings for older buildings with no original blueprints available.
I’m an mechanical consultant engineer and I work hand in hand with architects. I found a need for when we do site surveying, everyone always takes photos. I started offering 3D scans for architects and MEP firms to cut down on their number of site visits. I will learn more about how to create floor plans and start offering that service.

It is something I plan on doing in the future. When I get the Pro 3 camera or another LiDAR based camera I will do that as well. Right now the plans are not accurate enough for those clients.

Other than Matterport channel explaining why the Pro 3 is better I don’t know if any. One will be coming in a month or so from me. But the LiDAR cameras are more accurate for sure.
Is there a platform that you know of that has the option to utilize drone footage along with 360cam footage to create assets like 3D models/360 tours/floor plans? Thanks!

Photography is my business and I'm trying to add Matterport. They just released the software that allows Samsung phones to work with the app, so I'm anxious to try with the equipment (cell phone) I have. Wondering about the 360 camera though and if it's a better investment. Meanwhile I'm being asked for floor plans and have been looking for the best software to do it myself or a reliable company to outsource to. This video makes me lean towards matterport and capturedio. Thank you. Open to feedback.
Awesome I think it’s smart to add Matterport to your business! I would definitely invest in a 360 camera at the very least the newest Insta 360. Ricoh has been great for me and you can definitely make the extra money with floor-plans and I’m press new clients with 3-D floorplans.

@@leilaninance it is one brand they market. Ricoh theta can be used for matterport and Zillow tours. As well as most of the other tour programs that give you more flexibility in editing your 3D Tours.
I'm a Marine Surveyor and just started offering Virtual Tour options for my clients. Just upgraded to the Matterport Pro 3 and still learning best practices. Looking for a way to integrate exterior drone footage of the vessels within the models. Also, looking for tips on capturing during inspection work in low light conditions. (Internal barge space etc.)

Also in tight spaces I would still use a smaller 360 camera and maybe if it is real dark a 360 Light ring. You can change out cameras you are connected to in the middle of a scan, when it makes sense. Like in tight spaces. I will think about doing a tutorial on that. Thanks!

I run a building surveying company in London, I also use drones for exterior footage on buildings. Have you managed to find a system that gives you footage yet? Can you obtain dimensions from the footage? really appreciate any info.
I just started using your captur3d link and matter port mix. Can you explain how you get the floor plans on captur3d to display the room name?
They automatically put the name in. If you need to change a name it is easy to amend and put in the notes what it should be changed to. Also I sometimes screenshot what they created and write my notes in there.
You can also name it in your matterport model and they will use those. Just point it out in the notes. Hope this helps!

@@dannyv2230 let me know how it turns out. In the future, you should be able to avoid that by putting in the notes that you named the rooms.
