  • How to take Matterport through a closed door
In this video, I explain step by step my process of making your tour work through a closed door so you don't have to leave it open the entire time.

You get mesh in the doorways using this method. That's why you have that weird warp effect when going through them. You can't walk back into the house from the patio because of the mesh. I always open the doors when I'm about 10'-15' away from them. Or, you can do a trim sandwich of the door jam to delete the mesh.

I do that when it is ideal conditions. Trim sandwich? I will try that out! Thanks

Cool video! Can you please tell me why my 3d model and dollhouse in my Matterport tour have blurry jagged borders? How to fix it?
    I am using insta360 1 inch camera

Hello. Do you trim the model after you are done scanning? The edges that are jagged are usually windows / mirrors etc that cause that to happen. You need to trim that all away. The upload it.

We keep getting scan alignment errors going from closed to open even though we didn’t move the scan. do you know why this happening?

      Using a 360 camera?
I usually don’t have that problem. There was a bug I delt with a few weeks ago, it made it so I had to move the camera 2 feet at a time. I restarted the camera and app and checked firmware update. Didn’t have the problem after that.
Maybe next time be a little further from the doorway? Without seeing it, it’s just a guess.

It is best to use a door jam (or two) to make sure the door doesn't move slightly between the outside+door open shot and the inside+door open shots. If the door moves an inch or so, might cause problems.
