Sweet Home 3D is a great, free, professional 2D and 3D floor plan drawing software. You can download it for free on Window, Linux, and Mac, here: www.sweethome3d...
I love how you also include real life advice in your teachings! Another wonderful software. Thank you for the introduction. I become a little bit more savvy after each playlist 😎 ❤️❤️❤️
Came back to this video because I was having difficulty drawing out my foundation. It clicked with me when you said to think of the Create Room key as the Foundation key. Duh! Thank you.
TJ Free, nice tuto! But if you double-click into the room with "Create wall" tool, it builds your wall automatically around the room with the right dimensions. As well as, if you double-click into your closed walls with "Create room" tool, it makes a room inside it. Note also that, if you double-click after designing the four walls, it will join the walls altogether.
I just tried double clicking on the "create wall" after creating the pad - all of the walls are situated such that the inside edge of the wall on the OUTSIDE edge of the concrete pad. Which is not what we want - we want the OUTSIDE edge of the wall to be lined up with the room definition. Solution to this?
I understand to draw the floor before the walls to get correct square feet, but I wonder if the building is already there and you want to put in a rug or something else; then I am assuming you would draw the walls first?
at 4:52, you say that the left vertical wall didn't get all the way to the end. But I did the exact same thing and the left wall and right wall was exactly 10'ft but on the top left, it showed exactly that missing section. Any ideas why? I double clicked each wall and it was 20' for top and bottom and 10' for left and right in my testing.
Does double-clicking place the floor inside or underneath the wall? Is the floor thickness included in the wall height or added to it? Does the floor affect the ceiling height of the room below?
Hello, is there a way to create a wall on one side which adjoins the created room like it is created when I select walls and double click the room. Now if i try to create a single wall around the created room it uses cornrs of the room as it's own starting and finishing points, which means that if wall is 100 cms in width, 50 cms would take the room space. To do that I have to create a wall on a side as i described before and move it out of the room. It's not very convenient. Create walls around the room does it as expected, but it breaks when I want to have different sized walls of one wall separates several rooms and etc
Sometimes you go too fast, like when you had forgotten in Lesson 1, that when you draw the wall, you could have entered the length of that wall and then hit Enter......
I am completly new to SH3D. Honestly, I learnt very little things from your videos because you always teach something that I can simply see on screen. Why not teach doubling inside closed walls to automatically create the floor? Is that too stupid to draw everything twice?
Thank you for creating these videos for this Software. You are a natural teacher. Because if your thoughtful instruction I can learn how to use sweet home well.

Also for zooming in and out, hold control, and roll your mouse wheel up or down, to zoom in and/or out.

I’d love a feature that automatically draws walls around a room so you can draw the room dimension and have walls right on the perimeter
Enjoying your tutorials on the SH3D program. How do I draw a basement? And then a main living area above? TIA!
Can you edit the dimensions of a floor(room) once it has been drawn?
