This would be a fantastic product if it were about $400 cheaper. There really isn't anything you can do with this product that you couldn't do with a $20 chess board from walmart and a cheap laptop running lichess. It is essentially a luxury/convenience item they are charging $650 for...
Yeah...premium price for the bare minimum of functionality. No sign of creativity. for example....put in RGB LEDs and u could show white-black square Control and other fun stuff.
@@gondel5537 It has more functionality than probably any other chess computer on the market so far. Plus it has RFID piece recognition and an inbuilt tablet, which are high costs in themselves.
Those machines move pieces very slowly. It is annoying after a while, and you can't play rapid, blitz, or bullet chess with that. Plus if you're playing online, the opponent has to wait even more than usual (which is probably to his advantage).
Thank you for this review. I do not see the added value of the EVO compared to the Air/Air plus. I can put my smartphone or IPad next to the Air and have the same usabilty at a lower price. The Evo might make sense if you do not have a smartphone/IPad already. Is the Evo able to do things which I can not do with the Air & IPad?
If you combine an Air & Ipdad, then I think it can replace the Evo more or less. The evo is nice as it comes all together, so the playing experience is smoother, and it has functionality built into it, but with the Air and Ipad I think you can largely substitute for this functionality
* $ 629.99 with Discount..., is still out of my range or Budget ! ! * I love the ( Chessnut EVO ) chessboard..., however, can't afford to buy it. Sad..., but true. :(

The product is smooth, but I admit the price is high. Their cheaper boards might be more interesting for you.

The board default light looks slightly Pinkish?
It would be nice if the machine moved its own pieces at that price point.
Well, Chessnut Move is coming and its pieces can move anywhere!

Hi, if I want to play a live game with my friend, can the board analyze the moves at the end of the game?
You can use the board to analzye the game (and have an engine right next to the 3D board)
