I have always respected the Soul Train dancers, but this has gotta be the best story that I connected with. Overdue. The Hammer saga needed to be last and 30 seconds more for depth and the moral is if you try as hard as you want it then (80's theme) there's no stopping us. Wow, Chuck did Leland fowl BEYOND words. Good thing Eric gave him a second chance, because he ended up becoming one of the show’s best known and longest dancers, and one of my personal favorites.
No it's was all good, I ended up working with Chuck on Jeffrey Daniel on his dance video and performed on Soul Train, Chuck and I are best friend today

Tamechi Toney Briggs is my cousin he's the Creator of MC Hammer Pants and a Soul Train designer and dancer. He said Soul Train served good fried chicken and biscuits to the dancers after a show😄

Mr. Leland Ferguson who was born originally from my hometown of Indianapolis, IN and later moved full-time out to Inglewood, CA who had tons of talent as Indy's Own Legendary Soul Train Dancer with tons of talent in his professional dancing for decades on Soul Train and he was very nervous on his first day on the set of Soul Train was all the latest moves that he did. But, He earned it as a blessing by making him feel welcome and worked with fellow Soul Train dancers on and off the set both good and bad times.

LOL.I went into the navy in 1989,stationed at Norfolk,Va,every Saturday morning us brothers commandeered the tv,watching SOUL TRAIN 1st,then YO MTV RAPS!!! LOL.Then when I was re-assigned to VF-84(JOLLY-ROGERS)attack squadron stationed at NAS OCEANA,Va. attached to USS ROOSEVELT-an aircraft carrier,I watched Soul Train in our barracks on Saturdays,when I was off. Stopped watching the Train when DON retired,there was a HUGE void,which nobody could FILL. SEMPER-FI.

I loved the suite class. He made a suit look good!!!. Every Saturday you had to check out their moves so you could burn up the dance floor that night. I was tall and lanky so I watched how to control all these limbs I had. I would dance Atchison little club in Hillsborough NC. THURDAY TO SUNDAY NIGHT. THOSE NIGHTS WAS WHERE I COULD EXERCISE AND DANCE. I WAS HOOKED CUZ DANCING WAS MY EXERCISE. PARTNER OR NOT. IT WAS THE BEST OF MYSELF FROM 19 TO 21. DANCIN, BIKING, RUNNING AND SWIMMING AND MY JOB. BOY THATS WAS MY LIFE. SOULTRAIN MADE ME VERY HAPPY. YOU COULD NOT WATCH IT AND NOT DANCE. IT LIFTED THE SOUL OF A SMALL TOWN COUNTRY GIRL. THANKS TO "THE DON" FOR THE MEMORIES AND ALL THE TALL DANCERS IN THAT SHOW. R.I.P MR. DON.

I go to the Laugh Factory on Sunset often. There’s a guy there thats always front row dying of laughter at every act. I couldn’t help but recognize him cause his energy is crazy. I get on TH-cam today to discover he’s an iconic Soul Train dancer!! Lol I don’t know Leland personally but his energy is infectious. Loved this mini doc!

I am Indianapolis native as well but I'm still here in the city congratulations to you!!! and Indianapolis have great talent great great talent!!!! lot of great artists come out of Indianapolis Babyface, Vivica Fox and the list goes on and on! I started out opening up R&B Artists with all girl Dance troupe. like concerts in arenas cheered in NFL as a po Cheerleader. and later the Lord call me in the dance ministry. I'm a prophetic praise dancer 20 years now. Oh and by the way it would be very nice if they do a movie on you and all the legends that would be totally awesome

Hammer is one of the true greats. He gives props when they're due, and he's always gracious to his fans. He's been touring a lot of the larger casinos in the southern US for about the last 10 years and is doing pretty good for himself.
