Man, Mario 64 is such a special game. Few credits themes have ever come close to topping this one, and this arrangement just makes it even better
Honestly, the only better credits theme might be Super Mario World
@@t3rrar1z3r fax
I grew up with the ds version and I agree
@@BlueThundershell same but 6 yo me would be on the brink of tears listening to that credits theme so i didnt fight bowser much
added to the fact that i sucked at the game lmao
Yes I definitely agree also being an old-school Mario fan I was going to request a song which ironically only plays in 1 level and no other time sadly while Genius AJ Despirito did do an amazing job of it I wouldn't mind a rendition of deep sea of mare on piano sure there are other music versions of it but I wouldn't mind hearing a rendition that SMB would make! :D
When I was 7 years old I saw a friend beat the game and this song made me cry, and I didn't know why. I'm 32 now and it still makes me tear up, still don't know why. I just love it.
I think I know why. The song's a masterpiece. It's truly a wonderful piece of art, and anyone who says otherwise is just wrong. It's beautiful.
Same
My nostalgia makes me tear up
Have you heard the phrase: "the important thing in life is not the destination, it's the journey"?
Well, that's why you cry... Because you loved the journey, when you were a kid probably loved the game journey, now you remember that with nostalgia and makes you unconsciously think about your own journey.
But that's only an hypothesis.
Because you can remember anything while listening to it.
The fact this came out on the day I graduated high school is both ironic, and pleasant!
This one truly does captivate the memories of the times gone by, while also hinting at a new chapter for everyone.
Thank you for making this cover. It's wonderful.
tankyyou but sometingh is wrong
dude I seriously imagine a cutscene similar to Mario 64’s ending beginning to play when I graduate, with this music rolling, going through the most important childhood memories. If that happened to me, then it would put me to tears.
So good to see the younger generation knowing and playing the gems of the past. I remember when I graduated..life comes fast. Enjoy every moment kid
@@albireothestarthebacklight2990 I was imagining this while walking the stage, lol.
@@4kChannel I'm not gonna lie, I play the classics, because they truly are gems. They're more special to me than any other thing they have today. Also, I just started working and wow, it really does go fast.
Is it bad I cry hearing this? It's like the game itself is telling me, "great job buddy, I hope I get to see you again soon"
no, its not
It’s made me tear up a bit, so no, it’s not bad.
It’s the”Thank you so much for playing my game” at the end of the the original that gets me
I would fight Bowser several times a day just to be able to hear this music as a kid. It was probably my favourite piece in the game.
Absolutely wonderful! ❤
YAHHA
LETSA GO
Nice
I was dancing to this in my room with tears of joy. Thank you so much Charles Martinet for voicing one of my beloved video game characters!
This is one of the most memorable themes from the game
I always loved the key change near the end, and that second-to-last (diminished?) chord. This song has such a bittersweet feeling of "wait, it's over?" especially if you fought Bowser after the grueling journey of getting all 120 stars. I can almost see each level flash on screen as that part of the song plays ;)
Totally agree. Very mixed emotions, very well-conveyed in this song!
Also, that second-to-last chord at the end is just the minor version of the major 4th chord in the scale! Throwing that in a song at the right time can really give it that oddly bittersweet sound. Not trying to correct you btw - you just had a question mark so I wanted to give you an explanation :)
@@san_dingus Thanks, my knowledge of music theory is somewhat limited, so I was totally guessing ;)
Yeah the minor iv chord in the major key is just bittersweet by nature, it's the best chord. You can add the second note of the key's scale to that chord too (a major sixth above the chord's root), super emotional
How can a happy tune can make cry so much ? :’)
Because it's too happy :)
Man he moves his hands so effortlessly
It’s a computer animation.

2:45 Damn. Just when i thought i was holding myself together the melody was played in this style and then i had nostalgia tears...
Who’s here after Charles Martinet announced that he’s retiring from voicing Mario and co.? 😭😭😭
I am!!
❤🎉😢🌹🎈👁👄👁
Me too
I came back to this, listening to it as a goodbye to Charles Martinet, who has retired as the voice actor of Mario, Luigi, and many others.
The super mario 64 staff roll is the only thing in a videogame to make me cry. I always played the game when I was growing up. Last year I decided to finish the game from my original save. I was never able to beat the final stage when I was younger. Took me a while to adjust to the game again, but once I finally defeated Bowser, and finished the game that awoke my passion for gaming in the first time.. Hearing the credits theme sent me to tears. A chapter of my life had finally been closed, I will forever cherish mario 64 and the mario series as a whole for helping make me who I am today
This is like the best credits song ever made in video game, no one has been able to top it imo.
The one in Chrono trigger is also great, imho the best one until this one came out
Mario Kart Wii is also amazing, although its a spin off
Definitely one of the best credits themes Nintendo ever made. What a great outro!
And so I shall now learn to play this, in honor of the thirty glorious years of Charles Martinet's Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi.
Thank you so much-a for a-playing my song!
I like how there’s not that many halfnotes in the beginning makes it super easy to play such a good song
I love this ending song to Super Mario 64 and great job as always SMB 🙋♀️😃👍🎮
Thank you for this Andrew and Samuel. You brought me right back to the 90s and the first time I ever beat Mario 64. Great arrangement.
This was the first videogame I ever finished. I forgot about this song until now.
I feel like a child again and can relive the moment I heard this song first.
I can still hear the "Thank you so much for playing my game" when the song ends
arguably one of the best super Mario 64 songs on the soundtrack. this song made me look forward to beating the game every time. what a great childhood :)
Just what I needed in the middle of a science lesson on a Monday afternoon
Don't you just love it when a random guy from GTA plays the Super Mario 64 credits?
"Thank you so much for to be playing my game!"
-Mario, 1996
I remember the day I first saw Mario 64. Tbh I thought it was really blocky. But then I started to play it, and it truely is a masterpiece. Thank you for making me relive that moment :)
YOOOOOO THIS IS THE SONG I REQUESTED, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
It's a frickin masterpiece
Super Mario 64 was the very first video game I ever beat as a kid. This song is very special to me.
Finally, thank you SMB! I have been waiting for this for soooooo long!
same
Mario Galaxy has my favorite mario end credits theme ever, but this one's probably a close second! It's just so beautiful...
Loved this song! Never played Mario 64 in my life, but this still manages to feel nostalgic.
Day 1 of requesting Sword of the Surviving Guardian from Kirby and the Forgotten Land
I love this song so much, it still feels somewhat unique among video game music and its just so pleasant.
I feel this song on a spiritual level.
This makes me immensely happy
Beautiful Staff roll soundtrack after a beautiful game
As usual, I had no doubt that this would be awesome, and it was. Great job, keep up the amazing work.
thank you!! I had asked for this several times in the past (not consistently) but I really love seeing it!
Best music ever. I felt like I was in heaven went I complete sm64 for the first time. It gives a nice rendering to the piano. I know what the next piece I’m gonna play.
I have waited for this
Bro... I feel the Happiness and Nostalgia again!!!!! :'D
I love it, makes me a good feeling and great memories
I remember watching someones piano songs, then I found yours video in recomendations. I started watching it, then I went to your channel, and that's how I found you. This was when I was around 5-7 years old. Now I'm 10. Thank you so much! If you played Mario 64, then thank you so much for-to playing his game-a!
I am about to cry, everytime I hear this tune
I've never actually completed Mario 64 yet I still feel emotional over this song lmao. I don't even know why. Great work!
If I can make a request, could you please do the Mach Rider Race theme? It's from a pretty obscure NES game so the other tutorials out there are pretty bare bones.
Every thing in mario 64 is a masterpiecce!!! EXELENT
Thank you so much-a for to playing my game!
I loved this song and can't wait to learn it
This is amazing thank you
I have waited 3 years for you to make this, thank you!

best song eva!!
Man, the nostalgia...
this theme is a constant reminder to why sm64 is my favorite game
Y'know this really hits me in the heart rn. My senior year graduation is tomorrow and this just really makes me realize "wow...it's over..." I'm slowly but surely learning piano, and this was just the best time to post this :)
thank you so much for playing my game! - Mario
My favourite song in my favourite Mario game ever! Thank you so much, SMB! Make sure to sub to SMB!
Lovely!!!
I wonder if you have some Banjo Kazooie scores runnin' on your channel. Also a game with heart and pure joy :D
Yes sirrr!! Impossible piano tutorial of “Never Let Up” from Mario and Luigi: Dream Team?
This gives me nostalgic memories of when I beaten this game on my Wii and 3ds.
THANK YOU-A SO MUCH-A FOR-A PLAYING MY GAME :)
Hey SMB! Love your tutorials, you're a large reason I taught myself piano! I have a request: Could you please make a cover of That's All by Genesis? Thanks! (Day 6)
Thank you so much a-for-to playing my song!
Epic🙏🔥💣❤️
I just realized SMB is also the abreviation for Super Mario Bros.
Watching this after charles martinet retired hits differently..
Koji Kondo is a foking legend!!!
Amazing timing! I just beat mario 64 today!
nice
Yes. Just yes
Me listening this after save the princess, best game ever
Eventually when the Mario movie comes out this should be the music for the credits
I love this melody so much, thank you for bringing me back to the 90's 😊❤
Boo's Merry go round in the haunted house was so good too
What I'd give to be a kid in the 90's again playing SM64 for the first time!
@@Marcuscaravan it was such a great first console. My brother and sister and I put our money together to buy an N64, we got Mario 64, Goldeneye and Diddy Kong Racing. Spent the whole summer playing it!
@@xxPenjoxx Those were my favourites too! Plus Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64. Those were the days man 🙂
I love this. As well as your channel!
I LOVE THIS SONG!
Wow Amazing, Mario 64 was an amazing game with beautiful music. Could you do God Only Knows by the Beach Boys next I would love to learn it !
and that's the main reason I subscribed to your channel: making me cry of nostalgia from such beautiful music played on a piano
thank you for making my days even better 🫂
I cried when I first heard this song, I couldn't be older than 7.
Then I later cried again once I finally got to spend a week with a N64 and got all 120 stars when I was about 12.
M64 has just been that game to me when I was very young that changed how I perceived videogames, and those credits always got me emotional as if I really did overcome and accomplish something great.
Shape of love - Yuhki Kuramoto
This is one of my favorite parts of the SM64 soundtrack. Thank you for covering this! Have you done SM64 Snow Mountain yet? Because that's my other favorite part of the soundtrack.
the one from cool, cool mountain and snowman's land? if so, he did!

Mmmmmm. Love n64 vibes. Good job as usual

Thank you so much for to playing this song! Really great song, works amazing on piano. Still asking for “Forest of Hope” from Pikmin, hope you can do it!
I can just hear a faint voice at the end of the song...
"See you next time!"
“Thank you so much for a-playing my game!”
Es hermoso
I see super Mario, I click
Day 807 (2 years and 77 days): please, can I kindly suggest you to arrange *EMERALD ESCAPADE* a.k.a. ULTRA MANIA by mashed? It would be really cool! Thank you!
"Thank you so much-a for-to playing my game!"
I just beat Mario 64 a while ago, this staff credit theme is amazing.
Fun Fact: did you know that if you connect a second controller and spam L and R on that second controller during the end cutscene where he rescues Peach, the second controller can control the camera during that cutscene and the credits!
Thank you so motch forta playing my game-a
