    to all the car guys out here trying to set up your 360 gap cam, you have to use the DJI mic 2 by itself, bluetooth catches way too much wind even if your mic is in your trunk, and the receiver uses the mounting hole your car mount needs to hold the camera. what you can do is record the audio on the mic by itself first by clicking the record button, then after using your editing skills, you have to download the audio from the mic onto a computer and align the audio perfectly with the video you download from the Insta360 X4. also, you’ll know the mic is recording when the light above the recording button is all red when it is all red it’s recording and after you’re done, click the record button again to save it. I use my MacBook to download the audio and then send it to my phone from there to edit onto my videos, you have to use a USB type C to connect to the mic and computer.

    • @elJong
      @elJong  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, when on BT the pickup is a little more concentrated on voice which can be good. And when you are using the BT, that's the only audio that will be recorded, the X4's mics won't be on.

    • @jonahkaiguam
      @jonahkaiguam หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's not possible. When the Mic 2 is connected to the X3/X4, the Mic 2, either wired or BT connection is the audio source. Unfortunately, the only camera i know that can do that function is the DJI Pocket 3.....maybe the Action 5 Pro.
      If you don't connect the Mic 2 to anything and use it as a standalone recorder via the Record button. If you try to mix the Mic 2 and X3/X4 audio in post, there may be some echoing if not matched up properly because of your voice on both audio sources, so that's a bust too

    Thanks for the video! I'm a total video noob so bear with me. I'm trying to record first person in an aircraft, with a wired audio connection to my headset, and a second audio stream picking up engine noise that I'd later turn down lower in editing. Can I run my headset wired audio into the X4 mic adapter, and pull a second audio stream from the DJI via BT, then later turn down the DJI stream in editing so it doesn't drown out the headset/radio chatter? The DJI would need to go in the back seat so it only picks up engine noise, and not my voice.

    • @elJong
      @elJong  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No need to run 1 in BT and 1 wired! If you have the wired (Receiver) setup, you can have 2 mics recording there already no worries! Then if you have the DJI Mic 2, both your Tranceivers can record onboard as well!

    32 bit float only works when using the dji reciever right? And dji bluetooth with out the reciever restricts you to a single mono channel instead of stereo or two people mics at once.... are you using two transmitters for your interviews? Yes, 32-bit float is only on-board recording to the mic, so nothing to do with connection to the recording on the camera (if it's connected). For this video I wanted just the simple connection tests to see all the differences straight out of the box. I, myself, don't dabble with the on-board mic recording (32-bit float) since I am not a pro and just want to get videos out like non-pros do.

      @@iamnotapoet Good call! Actually I did experience audio lag once! But it was more that the connection dropped and prior to dropping, the audio lagged a bit when I checked. Luckily it has never happened again, but I think it's always best to be checking connection when recording something important. I don't expect to do use an action cam for pristine audio anyway.

    Vertical vlogging cam? ok but us bike/scooter riders who want to mount this thing horizontally on some handle bar this heavy setup will break even the strongest mount out there & this is what nobody on the internet is talking about.

      @elJong  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't tried the horizontal mount from DJI (amzn.to/3WtpWYb), but I am looking at this to get soon and test it out! (amzn.to/4dc9aCF)

      @@elJong No, I don't mean the mount itself, I mean, mounting the X4 horizontally still using the selfie stick screwed onto bike handlebar mount so that the selfie stick is parallel to the ground. No selfie stick on earth can withstand the weight of the setup you got going on without breaking after a few trials. Anyways, does this DJI record internally simultaneously when recording via the receiver? or you could only choose to record either via the receiver or internally?

    • @elJong
      @elJong  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sir-Kay The DJI Mic 2 has internal recording on the transceivers, yes. So you can pull audio-only from the DJI mic in case the audio in your X4 video is janky.

    • @Sir-Kay
      @Sir-Kay 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@elJong But, then one has to remember to press the record button each time you want to begin & end a recording. That's work! The bluetooth connection would have been a setup & forget until one turns off the X4 but, the audio is also crappy. You know what? I'll just stick to the X4's internal audio which is good until you move away from it(which i rarely do) or get caught in a windy situation. Anyways, thanks for the test.

    • @elJong
      @elJong  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sir-Kay If I am not mistaken, you can set your DJI Mic 2 to auto record onto the transceiver in 32-bit float! So every time it turns on, it's already recording. It'll even overwrite older files when the mic is full.

      You can only connect 1 bluetooth mic to the X4 at a time. So you'll need to receiver to have 2 wireless mics running audio to the X4.
