I was planning to get the dji mic for the Bluetooth connection feature but after hearing the audio quality of that, I don’t think I want it anymore. Helpful video thx
I have the DJI Mic 2 via bluetooth wireless for my X4 and Ace Pro, for bluetooth, the quality is actually quite good, it's never going to be as good as hardwire but I wanted less bulk and nothing protruding out of my camera. I use my Ace Pro with dive housing on quite a bit so the wireless option is a godsend. If you want to still use the wireless option, and get good quality mic, use the internal recording and post sync, this way you'll get the 32 bit float audio, a bit more work but keeps my camera 'clean' ;)
I have the single Mic 2 with the Pocket 3 combo and I also got the dual Mic 2 package. Remember they are 32 bit floating point, standalone digital _recorders_ and you can always import the audio into RX or a DAW or otherwise process it any way you like and bring it into your video editing session as an audio track. You do not have to be connected to the camera to enjoy the benefits of the Mic 2.
Recording onboard using the built Mic's sounded fine, as long as don't have much wind or background noise. And I do want to point out that when using the DJI Mic 2, if your worried about range or sound quality, just record internally to the Mic in 32 bit float, you have plenty of headroom to adjust the sound in post, and range or interference is no longer an issue. Great testing Shawn, thanks for sharing.
I don't want to complain because you did a lot of work and a great job, but: I wish you had connected 2 Mic 2s with the Mic 2 receiver into the adaptor. The cables are Ring, Tip, Sleeve and (in theory) should support an unbalanced stereo signal, if present. It would be interesting to see what happens when the Mic 2 receiver is configured for Stereo. My guess is that their adaptor is mono but no one is talking about it.
Question not exactly on point but I’ll bet you can answer: I’m considering getting the insta360 x4 mic adapter you use in this video, but primarily as a 90 degree angle and door replacement to usb power the x4 while on long motorcycle rides. My question: If I use the mic adapter but no external mic, can I still get audio from the built in mics or does the adapter negate that? Thanks for the help.
When I activate the 32 bit float on the receiver to record internally in the transmitter, do I have to keep the receiver turned on and mounted onto the X4 or I can just keep it in the charging hub or even turned off? Secondly, does it record audio internally into the transmitter simultaneously when hardwired into the X4? for some audio back up?
Thank you so much Sean for this great comparison video! I have a Rode Video Mic and can't wait to try it out with my X4 (once I receive it hehe). Cheers from Montréal!
Ok, but you forgot the best choice: the movo wireless mini 2 duo with 2 mics. Not only WAY cheaper with only about $ 50 but with no need of the terrible so-called coldshoe mount. Works perfectly on my X3.
Hi, I thought the audio using the inbuilt mic was pretty decent, how far were you from the camera there, hard to guess the length of the pole from the picture?
Do you think that having the Insta360 with the receiver while riding a motorbike could cause the wire to appear in the recording? I assume the receiver can't move, but I noticed the wire is very close to the 180º angle of the lens.
What I'm looking for is something that'll record nice audio when mounted onto the camera for vehicle use... mounting on cars/trucks etc and filming driving scenes... can't figure that one out so if anyone has any tips reply!
Thanks so much! Now if only DJI and/or insta360 would allow the 32bit float backup recording to work when in 3rd party Bluetooth connection! But thanks and CHEERS 🍻 for the video - Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ 🤣Professional🤣Poets & Bed 🛏️ & Beer🍺 Vloggers ]

Built-in microphone with wind muffs works great. Even better than the sound of the DJI Mic imho (comparing the intro).

Whats the hest way to get good audio while at a concert? So theres not a lot of distortion? Do the oem mics work fine?
Can i use x4 while raining with mic adapter attached
Personally, I would not
DJI Mic 2 via Bluetooth wasn’t too bad. Thanks!

Is that cold shoe secure for the receiver? I can't find a good one for my X4 and DJI Mic 2
second, i dont do anything crazy but as long as it sticks while i'm walking and basic vlogging it would be great!

It seems that the Rode's sound was the best.
I use the original Rode Wireless setup with the X4 and it has proved to be the best👍.
Thanks for sharing your experience
What about the movo?

Other than background noise it's really good for the disturbance
I was probably about 4 feet from the camera maybe five I had the pole completely extended
@@AirPhotography but are you happy with image quality. I have seen most reviews and people are not happy with half inch sensor
This video useful to me. "Travel with Ushakar"
What about connection with bluetooth headset for phone? Many have price from 10$ and mic inside

Rode FTW. Dji mic sounds much worse (which surprised me a bit).
those built in mic are extremely decent! I have mic on and two and have on done bluetooth.
Yeah but you need the Insta360 foam wind muffs attached to the camera. Otherwise it sounds crap with wind.
The dji mic 2 sound really good
Insta360 x4 isn’t recognizing My rode wireless me. Any ideas?
What about Ulanzi U-mic AM18 ?

Any discount on the dji mic 2 bluetooth?
Never.
Xmount360 dji 2 mic mount works great! $49 😢
Dji mic 2 =. 120$
Try Ulanzi U-mic AM18
Thanks

Hard wired definitely the best in my opinion!
I just wish that mic adaptor of x4 would be q bit smaller
Why these terrible external devices? What prevented us from making a built-in wireless microphone in the 4th generation of the camera? 🤦🏻♂️
Sean is so sexy now !!!! But before he was cute ❤❤❤❤
Appreciate you ! This is exactly what i was looking for Gracias 🫡
