- Plenty of athletes have gotten in legal trouble that has come and gone and they’ve somehow managed to avoid making it part of their legacy. Some athletes, on the other hand, have committed crimes so heinous that when you hear their names, you will likely think of the charges before you even think of their sports achievements. Honestly, you might not even think about them much at all these days, to the point where you've forgotten about them entirely. From the NFL Pro Bowler with a history of horrible deeds to the Olympian who went from inspirational to criminal, let’s take a look at some incredible athletes you forgot are currently in jail.

Strike 2 he was convicted in 2007 for the misdemeanor sexual battery of an ex gf that got him two years probation. Then in 2010, he got sentenced to 30 years for burglary and, you guessed it, criminal sexual conduct. He will see parole in 2034. Strike 3, he is out of here
Adam Johnson- former soccer player for manchester city, sunderland and England National team. Now in prison for sexual activity with a child under the age of 16 and child grooming. He played in the 2010 world cup, surprised hes not on here

It starts in high school and college. They're treated like special human beings because of athletes. They're given special treatment and eventually they believe they're above everyone else and rules don't apply. Schools, pro teams and the public need to look in the mirror.
