Respected Historical Figures Who Were Actually Terrible People

  • We often remember historical figures for the great things they did, but a lot of the time, the people who did great things were not necessarily great people. Some of the people you admire might be a bit more complicated than you think, from businesspeople and innovators to world leaders and philosophers. Walt Disney, for example, may have brought joy to millions around the world, but he also had some terrible views on race, and it turns out that Gandhi was not very good at practicing what he preached.
Let’s take a look at a few respected historical figures who were actually terrible people.
    #History #Celebs #Truth
    Gandhi | 0:00
    Mother Teresa | 1:24
    Winston Churchill | 2:24
    Steve Jobs | 4:00
    Walt Disney | 5:08
    Caravaggio | 6:17
    Aristotle | 7:30
Correction: Indira Gandhi, shown above at :25 and at :45, was not married to Mahatma Gandhi and was not related to him. We regret the error.

So Steve Jobs stole and marketed someone else's work? Edison robbed Nikola Tesla who gave us alternating current and modern electricity. And Marconi stole Tesla's radio invention and even got credit for that in the history books. Tesla was too warm-hearted and pure a soul to live in our polluted universe.

Mary Blair was a top artist at Disney.
Also animator and designer who was prominent in producing art and animation for The Walt Disney Company, drawing concept art for such films as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South and Cinderella.Blair also created character designs for enduring attractions such as Disneyland's It's a Small World, the fiesta scene in El Rio del Tiempo in the Mexico pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase, and an enormous mosaic inside Disney's Contemporary Resort. Several of her illustrated children's books from the 1950s remain in print, such as I Can Fly by Ruth Krauss. Blair was inducted into the prestigious group of Disney Legends in 1991.

Some of you would believe anything, as long as it’s in a video. If somebody put a video out, it must be true, right?
The part of Gandhi being a sex addict, happened when he was a 16 years-old boy, not the man who became the Mahatma and some of the great things about Walt Disney were:
He was one of the first to place women in positions other than secretarial and also was one of the first to provide artistic jobs in his studio to people of color; the first being Floyd E. Norman, who is still alive and well. Also, the two top songwriters, the Sherman brothers were Jewish….
    Total research on this….4 minutes?

dosran Columbus’ one crew spoke about how they raped woman and how he would gift native women they captured to others, many of them being children. Columbus and his men ignored the King and Queen’s order that he “abstain from doing … (the inhabitants) any injury.” He forced countless natives, any over the age of 14, to provide him with either gold or cotton or they would be killed and punished on the spot. He would order men to be burned at the stake and would order children to be hacked into pieces. Any native who complied but failed to meet the quota of what was demanded of them had their hands cut off and placed as a necklace around their necks. He was a tyrant for the many of the spanish settlers he ruled over. He would mercilessly torture anyone who spoke out against his leadership and ordered excessively severe punishments for any offenses.

Ganihd also hated blacks and wanted Indians to be classified as white. Also the thing about Steve jobs is that China has even said "We are open to rasing the cost of living and pay in the shops but they (apple) has never brought it up so there has not been on a discussion about it." So it's 50/50 man. Another video of churchill that doesn't show the FULL quote he said you're really not biased at all :HERE'S THE FULL QUOTE "It is not necessary to use only the most deadly gasses: gasses can be used which cause great inconvenience and would spread a lively terror and yet would leave no serious permanent effects on most of those affected."

So, in case you already didn't know Micky Mouse is based off the Blackface character from Steam Boat Willy 1929 Musical (which is now part of the public domain) and we have to thank Micky Mouse for the reason why Copy Right Laws went from lasting from 28 years to 90 years! FYI, Micky Mouse is slated to enter the Public Domain in 2023, I personally highly doubt that Disney will allow this to happen EVER!

What saddens me about Disney is Louis Armstrong's association with The Jungle Book. He promised a great role to who he considered his friend and then cowered out when he realized it would just get him a bit more criticism than he initially realized, even though he likely knew that it would be a big step in standing up against racism.
Actually, I now realize that it shares a lot of resemble to what happened to Herb in BoJack Horseman.

Even decades later, the McDonald's Corporation is still crediting the wrong man, with many of their stores featuring metal engravings of his face at their entrances.
