Boss man, man gentlemen appreciate this video. I spent all day today and gave up, started looking for videos or Google suggestions but this is by far the money maker. Thank you again.
so I tried the advice from this video and had no luck. my guess is because the axle was completely removed from the truck (finally doing the SAS!) I did however need to remove the spindle to get at some parts. the (in my opinion fastest and easiest way) best way I found was to thread on the 2 retaining nuts partially back on the spindle and use a gear puller. you can put the bolt of the puller on the actual axle shaft that protrudes from the spindle (its already hollowed out like it's meant to be!) grab the retaining nuts and wah-lah! off it comes. good luck guys and gals.
If you were able to get yours off this way, you are extremely lucky. Rent or buy the spindle puller and a slide hammer. I tried this guys method for hours without them even budging. I went and got the spindle puller and slide hammer and had both sides off in 10 minutes.
Bought the spindle tool today from matco got the driver side off this guys way then found out there was a tool because the Matco man happened to show up the passenger side was not budging so thank God for that tool
watching before hand. The only video I found was a 2wd twin I Beam and Im like, uhhh I have an axle in the way. I did my brake rotors a way back so i know my way around removing the hub at least. Thanks for sharing!
SpaceThunder especially to do something simple like a rotor replacement haha. Makes getting new lugs easy when you do that anyways tho. Now the fun issue I ran into is my drivers side lower ball joint cannot be replaced because all new ones slide right in 😂 can’t wait for the old one that is the only one to press in fails.
Hey I had another trick for this without special tools . Put a hammer bit in an air chisel tool and vibrate around the flange surface and keep it moving. It vibrates the rust out and use lots of penetrating fluid as it starts to get the rust out
Outstanding; simple, brief and effective. By the way, as I was listening/watching, a Michael Jackson song from the '80s came to mind. Those of you who know the "Thriller" album know which song. :)
All I've managed to do is making a pile of kindling by beating the pieces of wood to splinters. That and missed a couple of times and will likely end up replacing spindle. Get the spindle removal tool.
sometimes none of these methods work... my 79 f250 4x4 spindle is so seized i tried my slide hammer first... no luck with a 5lb slider... then got a 50lb slider... no dice... tried this method... with a 30lb sledge hammer... nothing... still havent gotten it off
Great Video but, you can warp the spindle this way and DO NOT USE HEAT!!! The next time do a little more research. Autozone rents the socket spindle pullers and slide hammers to do the job. Or you can buy the spindle puller socket from Ebay. KD3910 is the socket is threaded that spins onto the spindle. It is 2 inch for Dana 50-60 and fits others being tri threaded. OTC also makes on that is a lot more money Then you need a 5/8-18 thread slide hammer. Bang it right off!!
Very helpful. Thanks for going right to the issue and not showing the mundane aspects like removing the brake caliper first.

Thank you!!!!! This did the trick. Those suckers were on there! Got them off with no damage to the spindles! Much appreciated!

Same boat. These hubs are easy once you’ve done it once but sheesh it makes everything such a big job.

Tried this w/no luck. Ended up with heavy punch and hammer from the back side and it came off about as easy.
